Straight From Your Kitchen 4

Meowllo everypawdy hope your weekend was great. With all da excitement dat went on last week we didn’t get to post a new treat recipe. It’s still stormin’ here and mommy has her regular monthly doctor’s appointment today so looks like we won’t get much catputer time.

Mommy had called to check on mr. W and he started orderin’ her around. Yep he sure did. He’s very gruff and told her to get under his bed and find his phone and bring it over to da hospital to him (45 miles away). Now let me tell ya’ mommy’s gotten on to him fur this very thing befur, and so of course she lit into him with da force of da lightnin’ from da skies and backed him down to purrleases and thank yous. Of course mommy ain’t gonna go crawlin’ round on his dirty floor lookin’ fur no fone. But she can take a broom and swoosh under there. As fur da goin’ over there? Well she told him da only way dat was happenin’ was ifin she was drivin’ his car, usin’ his gas and puttin’ da wear and tear on his vehicle, and then and only then, at her convenience. He’s got kids ’round here dat he could have do these things, but nopawdy likes to be ordered around. Well anyways, dat’s kinda what’s been goin’ on here.

Now let’s get back to da recipe. Purrlease remember these are treats and not nutritionally complete. You may substitute any meat for the protein ingredient, and they can be eaten by all the meat eaters in your house. So today we’s gonna give ya’ a recipe fur some moist treats.

Moist Bites

1/2 Pound ground beef/chicken/turkey (or whatever protein you want)

1 Tbsp. Grated Cheese

1/4 Cup Dried Catnip

1/4 Cup Bread Crumbs

1 Egg (beaten)

1 Tbsp Tomato Paste

Preheat oven to 350°   Makes about 2 dozen

1. In medium bowl mix ingredients in order of listing

2. Using your hands, Roll mixture into walnut sized balls

3. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet

4. Bake for 15 minutes till balls are lightly browned and firm

5. Cool before serving or storing in an airtight container. May also be frozen

Have a Great Day!!!

Well there ya’ have it, moisty bites fur kitty. Or doggy, human or any other meat eaters in your house. Me’s gotta go now so mommy can go feed Buddy and get ready fur her ‘pointment. We’ll be by to visit just as soon as we can. And hey, don’t furget to enter me’s Give Away here.

Till da next time………………………………….Be Blest!!!

  1. Hi Dezi. I am going to ask Dad to make us these if he has time this weekend. He is busy making our new home so if it is a big new place to live or treats… um… gee… maybe we can have store treats and then he can make these in the new home

Petcretary kind of had to giggle at the idea of seeing your Mommy get all frustrated with MrW…but she truly does agree with her:) Sheesh!

  4. I think that Manna would enjoy treats like these! She loves chicken and cheese. It can be hard to find recipes for homemade chicken cat treats. I’m glad that your Mommy stood up for herself. Some people think that the universe revolves around them and they need to be put in the their place.

  5. Mmmmm, these treats sound like a real winner. I’ve been looking for a treat recipe that doesn’t call for fish (I’m not a big fan of feeding my kitties fish) but that still has ingredients to entice my picky treat eaters. And these look perfect! Thank you for sharing, Dezi and mom!
