Chatting Cats: Felines Opine On A Play Date

Raena:  Hey everypawdy, it’s me, RaenaBelle. Are ya’ll ready fur some fun? Cuz I’s gotta tell ya’, we’ve got loads of it today. Ifin you’ve followed us fur any length of time, you know we don’t write many book reviews. It’s not that we don’t like books, it’s just that mommy’s eyes aren’t as young as they used to be. And of course, she doesn’t unnerstand all this e-book stuff. ‘Course, she couldn’t read a book on the catputer anyways. Again, those old eye purroblems get in the way. Then of course, there’s the purrfurence fur the Bible or things that can teach us somethin’. In other words, we’re not big on fiction. Mommy’s a bit of a realist. Anyways, our adorable furiends, known ‘round the blogosphere as the Tribe of Five from Feline Opines, recently wrote a book of their own. Altho’ we’re a bit jealous, cuz mommy hasn’t even knocked out the furst chapter of our book, we were really x’cited fur them.

Dezi lays on liberty tree and Raena on the small perch looking at each other in front of the door.

Dezi:  We sure were Raena. We cats have to stick together. So, when we heard their book was “on sale now”, we invited ‘em over fur a play date and told them to bring a copy of their new book, Felines Opine, to discuss. They were so generous, they had their human, “awnty” Anita Aurit (author and the Tribe’s scribe) send us our very own hard copy.  Pawtographed and purrsonalized just fur us.

Raena:  Yep sissy, the kind with turnable pages that mommy can put her magnifyin’ page on ifin need be. Their book is more like a devotional fur cat luvvers. Ya’ know, God, from a feline point of view, as they put it. As most of ya’ know, we’re a God fearin’ house of Christians, so this book’s right up our alley. Up our alley, I’s gonna have to ask mommy what that means (Taking a mental note). While we enjoy the Bible as is, it’s nice to occasionally break up our Bible study with a good devotional. And hey, the cute cat fotos are an added bonus. So, Alberto, why don’t you innerduce everypawdy to your family.

Raena:  I’s so glad you brought the whole family, Alberto.

Now, let’s meow ’bout ya’ll’s book, huh Tucker?

Tucker:  Thanks Raena, let’s

Alberto:  Thanks Raena and Dezi, we’re happy to be here to talk about our book and play with you girls. I of course am Alberto, adventure cat extraordinaire; the *lean mean stalking machine of the Tribe (*Felines Opine). The Alpha of our Tribe is my rotund cross eyed brother, Tucker. His cuddle buddy is our sister Lily, who like you beautiful ladies is a torbie with catitude. The black and white spotted fellow rolling in your nip is my brother Oliver. And last but certainly not least is our sister, Jasmine. (Whispers) You know, she’s the scaredy cat of the Tribe. (Alberto meows loudly from the cat tree) But that’s okay, we’re trying to incorporate some of the tips you all gave us to integrate her back into the family area.

Dezi:  We’re just so happy all of you came. Play dates are so much fun. And, not to worry, there’s purrlenty of hidin’ spots ifin anypawdy gets overwhelmed. It can happen to the bestest of us. Meowin’ of, Jasmine, we purrticularly luvved your opine on Genesis 6:19 that says, “And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shall you bring into the Ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female…(KJV) Can you tell us how you x’plained this?

Raena with Janmine

Raena:  Hey Jasmine, we’re so glad you could come this time.

I’s luvved your entries in ya’ll’s book. You’re so clever.

Jasmine: Thanks Raena, it’s the Siamese in me.

Jasmine:  Um, sure Dezi, Raena, (Blushing and starting with a timid voice that gets bolder as she speaks) thank you. God took so much care in creating all the animals of the earth. *“He charged Adam to name each one. When God decided to send the flood…He made a covenant (promise) with Noah and his family as well as the animals.” (*Felines Opine) I just think that when humans decide to take us into their homes, you know when they adopt us, they make a covenant with us to care for us and to love us, just like God and Noah.

Raena:  We so agree Jasmine. And like you went on to meow, God could’a killed everythin’ in that flood and just started over. But, he luvved His creation so much, He didn’t believe we were expendable. None of us are throw aways or trash. We’re all ‘purrtant and special. Humans were created in God’s image. And, He hasn’t broken His covenant, so humans shouldn’t break their covenant with us when they adopt us. ‘Course, we’re among the Blest ones, our humans would never treat us badly or throw us away.

Tucker: You’ve got that right Raena. My ample proportions tell you how seriously my humans take their covenant and obey God. I know the Tribe is very thankful for them just as you and Dezi are thankful for your human.

Lily:  Love your cat tree Dezi.

Dezi:  Fanks Lily, we’re so glad you could come.

Lily:  Our female human says that you can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat animals. (Lily headbutts Tucker and Dezi and continues to meow) Thankfully, we have Godly humans that have never and would never mistreat us. That also means they’re kind to others as well. I’d say we all have pretty good lives. We hit the jackpot with our humans, don’t you think?

Dezi lays on pet cot with Oliver rolling on nip heart

Those Yeowww nip toys are great fun, huh Oliver?

Dezi:  Sure ‘nuff Lily. Oliver, you’ve been pretty quiet, did you wanna come up from the nip fur a minute and meow anythin’? Oliver…?

Tucker: (Looking over at Oliver, Tucker shakes his head) Listen, what we really learned while writing our book was how, as you girls would put it, Blest we are. We also learned that God wants all His creation to praise Him.

Raena:  Yep Tucker, mommy says that all the time. And, we offen stop what we’re doin’ several times a day to praise God and fanky fank Him fur all the Blessings in our lives. We really enjoyed ya’ll’s little devotional book. Each of you took turns givin’ your points of view on purrticular scriptures. And we luvved seein’ ya’ll’s full page fotos opposite your opines. We truly think any cat lover would just luvs your book. That’s 4 paws up from me.

Hey ‘Berto, we luv your new book.

Dezi: Me agrees Raena. Me also gives it 4 paws up. And me knows mommy enjoyed it. We know everypawdy’s gonna wanna get a copy of their own. So, you can grab one now fur $11.99 at amazon. That’s fur a hard copy (paperback). It’s also available fur kindle. Sorry we can’t give ya’ the 411 on that version, like we meowed, mommy just ain’t that tech savvy. MOL We’re sure those of you who are, will be able to figger it all out.

Raena:  Why don’t we all go ask mommy fur some treats and then we’ll play some more. This has been a great play date. We’ll have to do it again some time.

Till the next time…………….……………………………Be Blest!!!
