Inspirational Strolling, Strolling, Strolling

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me RaenaBelle. Let me tell you, we’ve had da craziest week ever. Me got to go fur da longest and bestest stroll ever. Dat’s not da crazy pawrt tho’.

 Dezi laying on floor

No Raena it isn’t. Da crazy pawrt came in durin’ me’s stroll later on.

Oh sissy, I’s just couldn’t believe it. You and mommy looked so funny.

Dezi sits on the arm of the chair

Well missy, me didn’t think it was very funny. And me’s thinkin’ neither did mommy. And, dat’s why there’s no fotos of me strollin’. We better tell everypawdy what we’re talkin’ ‘bout. See, da weather be coolin’ off some here and so mommy likes to take us fur a stroll at least a few times a week. It helps to keep us sociable and eager to go out. It also reminds us dat our harness and stroller lead to fun and good things; not just da VET. You can check out our training post fur taking kitty out here ifin you’d like. Anyways, mommy’s been takin’ Raena out furst, so dat hopefully she won’t sit at da door and whine da whole time me’s out. Talk ‘bout separation anxiety, you sure do have dat down Raena.

 Raena in stroller

I’s not know what you’re talkin’ ‘bout sissy. I’s just wanna be with mommy. Isn’t dat a good thing?

Yes Raena, but you can clearly see us walkin’ ‘round. We didn’t leave you, and trust me, mommy wouldn’t ever leave you. Me’s come to accept dat. Now, where was me? Oh yeah, strollin’. So anyways, mommy gathered Raena up and put on her harness and a leash. Raena was so excited, me thinks she thought she was goin’ fur a walk. But mommy put her in da stroller and tethered her in and grabbed da camera. There’s a little storage compurrtment on da handle dat mommy puts da camera in till she’s ready to take fotos. And fank catness fur dat compurrtment, just wait and read.

 Raena in stroller

All tethered in, mommy and Raena headed out da door. Me decided to take a quick bath and a nap befur it was to be me’s turn. Me could see them strollin’ ‘round and stoppin’ fur da occasional foto and to inspect da odd noise or chirpin’ birdy. Furinally they headed back in. Mommy let Raena out and took off her harness and told me it was mes turn. Me came down da Liberty tree to a shelf where mommy could reach me. She put on mes harness and da leash and plopped me in da stroller.

Me was purretty excited and couldn’t wait to get outside. Furinally we were off and out da door. We barely got to da edge of da pawrkin’ lot and suddenly da clouds pawrted, da skies opened up and da rain fell. Me’s not talkin’ ’bout a little shower either. Me means full on heavy duty down pour. And then me saw a bright light flash befur me’s eyes followed by da longest and loudest thunder boomer me’s ever heard. Me meowed to mommy dat we needed to get back in da house right away. Me’s heard ’bout seein’ white lights flashin’ befur your eyes; and nuffin’ good can come of dat. Those rains kept peltin’ da top of da stroller and all of mommy. There is no runnin’ fur mommy. So, by da time we got back in da house, she was drenched. Fankfully da camera was inside dat storage cubby on da strollers’ handle cuz me thinks it’s da only thing dat didn’t get wet.

 Raena in stroller

I’s sorry your stroll got cut short sissy, but ya’ll sure did look funny tryin’ to get outta dat rain.

Well me’s glad you thought so Raena. (meowing under her breath) Me sure hopes it happens to you next time. Then we’ll see just how funny it is.

 Raena in stroller

       Did you say somethin’ sissy?

Uh, yeah. Did you know tomorrow is National Cat Day? And next Tuesday is mes Birthday?!! Mommy says we have a surprise comin’ to celebrate with. Me can’t wait.

Did you see da new award awnty Jeanne Foguth nominated us fur?

Black Cat Blue Sea Award given by Jeanne Foguth 10/27/2016

Yes sissy, The Black Cat Blue Sea Award. We’re very honored, fank you awnty Jeanne. It’s an award fur blogs dat have moved and inspired a wide audience dat includes a little humor fur da occasional smile and/or chuckle. What are da rules sissy?

Furst was to name, link and fank da blogger who nominated ya’. Then ya’ gotta answer their questions and nominate 8 other blogs. Here’s da questions:

1. What inspired you to start your blog?

Well, sis Lexi started out on Facebook tellin’ stowries ‘bout our lives as Service Cats in order to bring attention to da fact dat cats are just as capable of being Service Animals as doggies. And to entertain peeps. Bein’ a Service Cat is serious business, but dat doesn’t mean we don’t have fun too. Anyways, when our furiend Timmy Tomcat asked ifin anypawdy would like to guest post on his bloggy, mommy said me could do it since sis Lexi had da Facebook page. Mommy is very catputer illiterate. So while tryin’ to create an account so we could guest blog, mommy accidentally created our own blog. And da rest as they say, is history.

2. What was your dream of life as a teen?

Me will let mommy answer this one. I wanted to sing for my dinner and be able to eat. I didn’t have to be as big as Elvis or others, I just wanted to be a successful singer. And the second part of that dream was to be a wife. I wanted to have a man in my life that loved me. My father died when I was 2, my grandfather (the only one I ever really knew) died when I was 5 and I didn’t know my one and only uncle.

3. Do you have any regrets?

Me has none and Raena be too young to have any, so we’ll again defur to mommy to answer this one too. Thank you girls. Of course I have regrets. I regret that Lexi had to get sick and die, and the same with those who came before her. I regret that I lived so flamboyantly that I didn’t prepare for the future. I have lots of regrets. But, I can’t change the past, I can only learn from it and hopefully make changes for the better. I pray each day for wisdom and to be a better person. You can’t live in regrets or the past.

Fank you mommy. Well we so hate to choose bloggers cuz every blog we read brings us some kind of inspiration and certainly more than a few smiles. So, Purrlease consider yourself nominated ifin you’re readin’ this bloggy. Follow da rules above and answer the same questions. We look furward to readin’ your answers.

Raw Boost Mixers #ChewyInfluencer

Meowllo and welcome. It’s time fur another Chewy review. As pawrt of da Chewy Influencer furmily we get to try out some great purroducts each month to tell you all ‘bout. As most of ya’ know, we’re mostly raw fed kitties by way of Freeze Dried noms.

Raena lays on Liberty cat tree

Dat’s cuz some kitty isn’t ready to munch down on bites and bits of tasty fresh pink meat.

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post. We received compensation in exchange for our honest review of the Natures Variety Raw Boost Mixers. All opinions unless otherwise stated are our own and are as always, the truth as we see it. We only bring you products we use or have tried and believe would be of interest to you our readers and friends.

Natures Variety Raw Boost Mixers Cat Food Toppers

You’re right Raena, me’s just not ready. But da way you like to graze, neither are you. Hmmpht  Anyways, we received a 6 oz. bag of Nature’s Variety Raw Boost Mixers Chicken Cat Food Toppers. Da ingredients are purretty simple:

Chicken (Including Ground Chicken Bone), Turkey, Turkey Liver, Turkey Heart, Pumpkinseeds, Carrots, Apples, Butternut Squash, Ground Flaxseed, Montmorillonite Clay, Dried Kelp, Broccoli, Apple Cider Vinegar, Salmon Oil, Mixed Tocopherols, Rosemary Extract, Blueberries, Dried Chicory Root.

As you can see, these Mixers don’t contain any of those questionable ingredients our humans like to avoid. There are lots of fruits and veggies, but hey, dat’s not uncommon these days and meats are da bulk of da bites. Now some of ya’ may look at dat list and say “Clay?” “Why would I feed my kitty clay?” We know this cuz once upon a time mommy did dat very same thing. Check it out. This clay is actually very good fur kitty and helps move toxins outta kitties body.

So let’s see what da Chewy website has to say are da Key benefits of Nature’s Variety Raw Boost Mixers.

Key Benefits

  • Great topper for kibble

  • High quality, raw nutrition in a convenient and easy-to-serve form

  • Pure protein for lean muscles and strong bones

  • Natural ingredients for optimal nutrient absorption

  • Nutritious oils for healthy skin and coat

  • Freeze dried and all-natural for an irresistible taste

  • Grain-free and gluten-free

  • No artificial colors or preservatives

Nautre’s Variety Raw Boost Mixers are available in chicken and rabbit. They also have what are called Mini’s and actual Food in several varieties as well as doggy furmulas. They range in purrice from $7.19 to $11.99. Da bites themselves are little cylinders and mostly uniform in size. They are a little crunchier than other freeze dried foods and would in our opinion make a good choice to aid in switching kitty from kibble to something healthier. These Mixers can be served wet or dry, as a treat or meal topper.

 Dezi eats treats

When they arrived we didn’t have any treats, so mommy decided to give us a few fur treat time. Of course me made mommy break them in half. Me’s a dainty little Southern Belle and likes really small bites. Once mommy got them broken me enjoyed da mid day snack. Me didn’t eat them all, as me purrfurs a more natural 1 ingredient treat from da frontal area of da chicken, but in me’s food later dat day, they went “all gone”. So me must give them 4 paws up. Good natural ingredients and tasty little bites are great fur kitty. Me knows you’re all wonderin’ what sis Raena thought, so let’s ask her?

 Raena eats treats

Is it furinally mines turn sissy? I’s liked ‘em just fine. I sure did. And mommy didn’t even have to break ‘em in half fur me. Altho’ I’s liked ‘em dat way too. I’s sure do like treats. And dinner. And Brekky. I’s just really like to eat. Yep, 4 paws up fur da Natures Variety Raw Boost Mixer Chicken Cat Food Toppers from me. Can we have some now sissy?

 Raena eats treats

Fanks Raena, we know you like to eat. Mommy says you eat like a growin’ teenage boy. As fur gettin’ some now, we just had brekky. Now go take a nap and let me finish our review. Everypawdy’s waitin’ to find out what mommy thinks. Me asked her and she said she likes da natural good fur us ingredients, and da lack of questionable ingredients. She also likes dat we like it, and gives ‘em 2 thumbs up. Now we know you all wanna get your own, so head on over and check it out. And hey, da holidays are comin’ fast, so while you’re there, browse around. Chewy has updated their website and added lots of new purroducts. They’ve got great purrices, speedy free shippin’ on all orders over $49.00, pawsum customer service, and you can set up an auto ship and save even more. Don’t worry, you can skip, cancel or delay dat auto ship at any time. And there’s a low flat rate speedy shippin’ option fur all orders less than $49.00.

Well there ya’ go. We hope to go fur a stroll later today, and mommy’s case manager is ‘posed to be here, so we’ll be by to visit as soon as we can. We did get an email askin’ ‘bout Shad’s back story. We said her and mommy had been thru a lot together and this email wanted to know more ‘bout dat. Mommys theory is dat ifin one purrson be askin’, there’s purrobably more wonderin’ da same thing. So ifin you would like to hear Shad’s backstory purrlease let us know in da comments. Otherwise mommy will just answer this in dat email. Gotta go get a quick bath.

Service Cats: Just What Is Kitty Capable Of

Meowllo and welcome to Service Cat Monday. One of da things mommy hears most offen when tellin’ peeps ‘bout us is, “Service Cats? I’ve never heard of a cat being a service animal?” And then da next biggest question is, “What do they do?” Once mommy tells a few of da things we do fur her peeps jaws drop a bit; some in disbelief and some in awe. We’ve covered a lot of topics in this series, includin’ trainin’ tips dat every kitty could benefit from. So, ifin you’ve missed any of our postys, purrlease click on da links at da end of this post. As with all our educational postys, da followin’ will be written in human English. Purrlease leave your questions, comments or topics you would like covered in da comment section below. We’ll be discussin’ da last of da questions we’ve received today. So without further adieu, let’s get on with it.

 Dezi laying in wheelchair

When people hear that mommy passes out and that we help her in the shower, it probably conjures all kinds of pictures in ones head. We guess that based on the question mommy is asked. And our friends Shoko, Kali and awnty Jean of the Canadian Cats made certain to ask, “Just what can an average cat do to help you in the shower? How do they Move you?” For all of you that are new to our blog, let us back up a minute and explain what they’re talking about. See, mommy passes out. This happens for many different reasons, none the less it happens daily and often while she’s taking a shower. And it was Shad, mommys’ first ever Service Cat that trained herself and showed mommy what a kitty is capable of. You can read Shad’s story here and here. Please be aware the Shad posts were not educational training posts and are therefore written in cat speak. Anyways, the question remains, just what is it that the average cat can do to help an unconscious human? After all, the average cat weighs in at about 8 to 10 pounds and hates water.

SHAD, Mommy's Original Service Cat
Shad, Mommy’s Original Service Cat

As most of you know mommy has rather large kitties. She always has. Even Shad, who weighed in at 15 pounds, was considered large. And yes, at 15 pounds she was healthy and not considered overweight. Shad was amazing, and without her there might not be a me or sis Raena. But mommy did learn that some of the things we are trained to do require 2 cats; otherwise it’s just too hard on kitty. Now let’s get back to the shower and just what it is we do.

Lexi lays in wheelchair
Healthy Lexi at around 30 pounds

You are right, even 2 healthy 30 pound kitties can not pull or push a wet, naked, over 100 pound human out of a bathtub. We aren’t concerned with getting all of mommy out of the tub. The only concern is that she doesn’t drown. So all that’s necessary is to make sure her head is out of the water flow. To accomplish this we push mommys head and torso up over the edge of the tub. Stop imagining things and let me explain. This is exactly why 2 cats are needed. Each kitty gets under an arm and positions in the armpit and pushes at the same time thus moving the torso and head. On occasion, some kitty does have to grab a mouth full of hair and reposition mommys head to lay on or over the edge of the tub. We then get out and roll around on our towels and wait for mommy to come too. We don’t mind water. We’re trained from the beginning to be in and around both standing water and flowing water like a shower.

Raena lays on Liberty cat tree

We, like Shad, are devoted to mommy. There is a special bond that exists between a Service Cat and their human handler. This is NOT among the first tasks we are trained to do as it is asking a lot of a kitty and bonding takes time. And for that reason we will not be posting the how to’s to train this task to your kitty. It is something that the new kitty starts learning from the resident kitty at this point, as Raena is already trying to help me help mommy. We do hope this has helped you understand a bit more just what a kitty is capable of. But remember, NEVER expect more of an animal than size, breed and species would dictate. The love and devotion Shad and mommy shared caused Shad to go above and beyond. Mommy knowing the kind of love and devotion she gives and elicits has allowed her to have that continued help from the cats who came after. Anyone can have that relationship and any kitty can be trained. But you must start with a solid foundation.

       I’s a good helper aren’t I sissy?

Dezi laying on back of chair

Yes Raena, you’re a good helper and are gonna be a fine Service Cat. Anyways, we do hope we’ve helped you to understand a bit more of what we do. Fur those of ya’ dat read Shads’ story we hope you enjoy it, she is very much a pawrt of who we are today. Mommy wants me to remind ya’ dat cuz she be naked and we live alone of course, there will never be any fotos of us purrfurmin’ these duties. Mommy says she’s no pb bunny. We need to know what you all wanna hear next, so leave your questions in da comments. We’re gonna see ‘bout goin’ fur a stroll while da weather’s nice, so have a great day.

Blest Sunday: Christmas Came Early for Mommy

Meowllo everypawdy and welcome to a pawsum Blest Sunday. As most of ya’ know this is our favorite posty of da week. But we do have some new followers dat might be wonderin’ just what it’s all ‘bout. So we wanted to take a minute and ‘splain. Mommy says it’s good to give thanks each and every day fur da blessings in your life. And she says, no matter what, everypawdy is blest. Blessings come in all forms from da material to da unseen blessing of breath, luv and furiendship to name a few. So ifin you are alive and breathin’, you are blest. We know dat you might be havin’ purroblems or things might not look so good from your view. Trust us, we’re not without our own purroblems and issues. None da less, as long as we have breath in our bodies, things can change. Thus, we, and you are blest.

Dezi lays on the back of the chair

Raena and me are so very blest to have a furever home with a furever mommy who luvs us more than anythin’ else in da universe. And we are blest to have so many amazin’ and wonderfully luvvin’ furiends. Yep, dat’s all of you. We are blest to live in a Country where we are furee to worship God and speak our minds. We are blest!!! And this week da material blessings came knockin’ on our door too.

On Furiday, da mailman came walkin’ up to our door. He’s new, we usually have a mail lady. Me didn’t recognize this man at all. None da less there he was standin’ at da door with a big ole box in his hands. Mommy brought it in and da box monster, Raena, was all over it. Smellin’ it, whacky pawin’ it and tryin’ to figger out how to get into it. Mommy got da scissors out and told sissy to move out da way, and opened dat there box. You shoulda seen mommy’s eyes. Da contents of said box was fur her. Yep, 2 big ole cans of coffee. Mommy luvs her coffee. And with da weather coolin’ off, she drinks da stuff all day and night.

 Raena sniffing gifted Folgers coffee

I’s still don’t get what da big deal is sissy, but mommy sure is happy. I wans’t sure at furst cuz of all those tears, but she said they were happy tears. And dat she couldn’t say fank ya’ enuff to da angel what sent her dat delishus coffee. I’s fankful fur da box.

Yeah Raena, you know dat cup o’ joe dat mommy’s always tellin’ ya’ not to swish your tail furs in? Well, dat’s her coffee. And she luvs da stuffs. Says she can’t get goin’ without it. Me agrees with you tho’, da box is great fun. Anyways, come Caturday while we was sittin’ here watchin’ fur da storm to roll in, da Fed ex truck drove up. S’no big deal, there’s 23 other ‘pawrtments here dat they deliver to so we see their truck almost everyday. Da driver stood out there goin’ thru things fur da longest time befur pullin’ out some boxes and shuttin’ up his van. And then he headed right fur our door. One of da boxes was from Chewy. Mommy had found enuff green papers to get us a small bag of da freeze dried food dat she hopes will last till payday. Since Raena started growin’ up, let me tell ya’ dat girl likes da groceries. Anyways, da other box was huge, and said amazon on it. Mommy hadn’t ordered anythin’ else so she figgered da Fed ex man would be takin’ dat one elsewhere. Mommy opened da door and da delivery purrson put both boxes down in our house and left. Yep, da box monster Raena was at it again.

 Gift box

Anyways, mommy looked at da label as bestest she could withour her seein’ glasses and said, “Yep, looks like my name.” And then she got da scissors and cut da box open. When she got a eyefull of what was inside, she stepped back and got her seein’ glasses and checked da label again. “Hmmmm that’s my name and that’s our address” she said. And then da tears started flowin’ as she emptied da box fankin’ God and askin’ His blessings on da angel what sent it. somethin’ mommy does over every box dat comes in da house. Y, There was even a can of chicken in there and me’s birthday’s comin’ up next week on da 1st. There was cleanin’ supplies fur da house messes and our messes and fur human messes; includin’ some kleenexes fur all those tears and snot comin’ from mommys eyes and nose. Some noodles and even a chicken and dressin’ microwave meal dat mommy says we can share fur da holidays. Mommy said Christmas done come early and blest her real good. So a meowsy big Fank you to whoever blest our mommy. We all purreciate it very much.

We sure do sissy. And fanky fanks fur da boxes too. Now, what’s a birthday? I think I’s gonna like those ifin we get chicken. And what’s these holidays and Christmas?

Oh Raena, you’re such a…a…baby. Me will ‘splain it all in due time. Right now we just want to tell everypawdy to ‘member to take a minute today and every day to give thanks fur da blessings in their lives. Fank you all fur bein’ a pawrt of our lives and fur each of you, we purray God’s richest blessings on you and yours.

Raena laying inside the small perch and looking out

And we’re joinin’ da Kitties Blue fur Sunday Selfies. I’s’ll race ya’ to da big box sissy.
