Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. Ya’ know, the Gotchaday girly!!! Are ya’ll ready to pawrty? I’s sure is. After yesfurday, mommy and me both need a pawrty. But I’s not gonna meow ‘bout that today, so let me get to the good stuffs so we can get this pawrty started. And don’t mind sis Dezi ifin she hisses at furst. She’s not too happy with mommy right now. Anyways, I’s keep gettin’ off track. I’s luvs ya’ sissy.

It’s okay sissy, I’s made sure mommy got all the yummy treats fur us that I’s picked out. Fanky fanks to awnty Vonda and our sweet furiend Erin and her peep fur mine’s Gotchaday greens. What’s that mommy? Oh, yeah. Actually, Erin and her peep sent greens fur all our birthday and Gotchadays. Ya’ know, includin’ the one mommy just had. Anyways, we went to the Petco and I’s picked out some of our favorites. Seems mommy knew yesfurday that you weren’t gonna be too happy with her today.

Me doesn’t wanna talk ‘bout it Raena. Can we just get on with the festivities? Maybe that’ll take me’s mind off it.

Okay sissy. Furst, I’s wanna say fanky fank you fur acceptin’ me and sharin’ mommy with me. I’s don’t know what kind of life I’s would’a had, ifin any, ifin not fur mommy savin’ me. I’s know you and mommy were goin’ thru a really tough time when I’s came here, a furry ball of energy; but you always shared all your toys and mommy. And, I’s really ‘purreciate all your furiends becomin’ mine’s furiends too. You all make me feel really special, and I’s can’t fanky fank ya’ enuff. I’s fur sure, one blest kitty girly. Now, let’s get this pawrty started.

Chatting Cats: A Storm of Silvervine

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. Sissy, I’s think our furiends are gettin’ angry with us, not visitin’ regular and all.

Well Raena, me thinks our furiends are more unnerstandin’ than that. You know, storms, human mommy business, and the likes are out of our control. Speakin’ of storms, we were asked ifin mommy could get a video of the storm. So, when the thunder started rollin’ in the Wednesday, mommy grabbed the camera and headed to the door.

Yep sissy, and you headed down the Liberty cat tree and UTB so fast mine’s head was spinnin’.

Yep Raena, ya’ know, that safe thing? You’re not s’posed to be out in it or sittin’ by the windows. But where did you go? To the cat tree so you could poke your head out the door. You and mommy weren’t bein’ safe at all.

Well, I’s didn’t stay too long. The wind was blowin’ that rain inside the door. It kept hittin’ me in the face. I’s get enuff of that when we’re draggin’ mommy outta the shower. Anyways, we have a new video editor that mommy hasn’t got a clue how to use yet, so we had to use the Youtube editor. We tried to lighten the video as much as pawssible, cuz it was really dark outside. And, mommy says she can’t hear the thunder on it. When the lightnin’ started, mommy turned the camera off and shut the door really fast. We have a yard full of huge oak trees, and mommy says they’re a lightnin’ magnet.

Yep Raena, goes back to that safe thing me was meowin’ ‘bout. Anyways, me’s so tired of storms and meowin’ ‘bout storms, let’s meow ‘bout somethin’ else.

Like what sissy? Oooooh let’s meow ‘bout that silvervine we got. Awnty Vonda sent us a whole 5 packets of the vine. Ya’ know, she gave us that pawsum Litter Genie fur mine’s birthday, and she sent us some refills recently and included a package of Purrk.

Me does luv the vine Raena.

I’s do too sissy. We must’ve rolled ‘round fur hours in that finely ground powder stuffs. Ya’ reckon she sent that cuz mine’s Gotchaday is comin’ up on the 8th?

Maybe Raena. Can you believe you’ve been here almost a whole year now?

Not really sissy. But I’s do know, I’s can barely ‘member that pawful cage where I’s came from. I’s so glad mommy came to save me. Are you glad I’s here, sissy?

Me is Raena. Me may not always act like it, but me’s glad mommy saved you too; even ifin you’re a pain in me’s floofy bloomers sometimes. Speakin’ of, we oughtta go play befur the thunder boomers start again.

Chatting Cats: Raena and the Bunny: A Story in Photos

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. Sissy? Where’d you go yesfurday when mommy’s case manager came over? You had been takin’ a nice nap on the cat tree, and then when she got here, you were nowhere to be found?. She started askin’ mommy ifin we was ‘fraid of her, the storms and other loud noises.

Purrrrrrrlease!. Me’s not ‘fraid of her. Me just knew mommy was a little upset with her not doin’ her job, and didn’t wanna be anywhere near that conversation.

Oooooooh She sure was upset with her sissy. Mommy’s case manager started talkin’ and mommy picked up the fone and said, “I have the message right here, ya’ want me to play it for ya’?” Case manager lady started shiftin’ in her seat. She was a little uncomfurtable that mommy had saved all the communications they’d had. She’s s’posed to call mommy once a week. And, when the DHS nurse was here back in January, she told mommy to have her case manager get her some wrist and knee braces. Mommy infurmed her case manager and then had doc write the scripts. It’s almost June and the case worker still hasn’t done anythin’ ‘bout gettin’ those fur mommy. And, after mommy’s recent fall, she’s a bit uptight ‘bout that. We could really care less ifin she calls every week, but the fact is, she hasn’t been, and that means, she ain’t doin’ her job. I’s should’a joined you UTB. MOL

Kittens!!! Come on mommy, Bunny’s gonna get away.

Me saw you try Raena. But, there’s no way mommy was gonna let you play with that bunny. You know how germifobic she is. MOL Me can’t believe she actually let you walk on the ground without shoes or somethin’.

Well, maybe I’s didn’t actually romp ‘round with the bunny, but I’s did have a meow with it. Mommy said she couldn’t believe how close it let us get to it. And I’s saw a squirrel and some birdies. Who knows, those birdies might have been the ones from the nest on our porch.

Sure Raena, those 4 little birdies are the only birdies ‘round here. MOL

Are you and mommy goin’ fur a stroll today?

We better be Raena. Ifin not today, then fur sure, she’ll take me tomorrow when we celebrate her birthday. Me’s gonna wear me’s new harness too.

Sissy, are we havin’ a pawrty fur mommy?

Nope, no pawrties Raena, just lots of extra cuddles and luvvin’.

And treats fur us?

Sure ‘nuff Raena. Mommy even said we weren’t s’posed to have any storms tomorrow, so we’ll get to have that pizza awnty Anonymous sent you fur your birthday. Mommy said we’ve gotta finish celebratin’ your birthday befur your Gotchaday gets here next month.

Gotcha day? Am I’s gonna have another pawrty?

We’ll see Raena. Me bets you can at least invite some furiends over fur a play date.

That’s No Hog, It’s Thunder!!!

HEY!!! IS ANYPAWDY OUT THERE? IT’S ME, RAENABELLE!!! (Raena meows at the top of her lungs) Mommy, I’s don’t think they can hear me over the thunder boomers. Are they ever gonna stop? At furst, I’s thought somepawdy had left their motercycle runnin’ full blast. But then the whole room lit up with that lightnin’ stuffs, and I’s knew it wasn’t no “Hog”. I’s really tired of it mommy. We haven’t got to visit any of our furiends all week long. And where’s sissy? Sissyyyyyyyyyyyy…Sissy!!! Where are you? I’s wanna play, sissy. Purrlease come out and play with me.

Isn’t this sunshine bootyful? It lasted a whole 30 minutes.

(Dezi meows back from UTB in the bedroom) Me’s bein’ safe Raena. Didn’t you hear mommy talkin’ ‘bout all the tornadoes and hail? The weather guesser said cars, outside animals, roofs and trailer houses WOULD be damaged!!! Don’t you ‘member mommy cryin’ and us purrayin’ fur all the animals what live outside?

Of course I’s ‘member. But what do I’s know ‘bout hail and damagin’ winds? All I’s know ‘bout is that wet stuffs. Did you see mommy and me tryin’ to get in the house befur we got soaked? I’s was so x’cited to see the sunshine peekin’ thru the clouds yesfurday. I’s thought it was a great oppurrtunity to go fur a nice stroll and get some furesh air. And I’s couldn’t wait to wear mine’s new harness. Did you see me? I’s grew into it so nicely. It’s a purrfect fit now. Altho’ mommy says I’s not thru growin’ and will purrobably have to get a bigger one next year. Anyways, did you see me? Didn’t I’s look adorable?

(Dezi meowmbles from UTB) Perrfect fit, uh huh. Adorable, sure thing. (Meowing loudly now) You looked real cute hunkerin’ down in the stroller while mommy was tryin’ to get ya’ll back in the house befur ya’ both got struck by lightnin’.

Who knew the clouds could cry that hard without any warnin’? One minute we were baskin’ in the sunshine and the next we were runnin’ fur our lives in the dark. (Raena shakes her head) Hey Dezi, ya’ know that Hooligan in a Can prize you won from Cat Scouts? I’s luvved it. Fanky fanks fur sharin’ with me.

Sure Raena. There was purrlenty of goodies to share. Me luvs bein’ a Cat Scout. That trip to the Kentucky Derby was a blast. And who knew me could pick the winner? Me chose me’s horsey cuz we’re always dreamin’ up ways to help mommy, so me thought Always Dreamin’ was a great name. Me fanked Den Master fur havin’ such a pawsum give away and sendin’ such a pawtastic purrize. Me can’t wait to try that grilled tuna fillet. Me can smell it thru the package, and it smells divine.

It sure does sissy. But I’s really luvved the smells comin’ from those smaller bags. Ya’ know, the ones mommy said was silvervine, valerian and nip? I’s sure wish I’s could be a Cat Scout.

Well Raena, maybe after you grow up a bit more mommy will let you join. Right now, me’s the only Scout in the furmily, and me likes it that way just fine. (Dezi meows under her breath) Me needs some time away from You, even ifin it’s just virtual. (Dezi snickers)

Well sissy, enjoy your time. I’s gonna keep askin’ mommy. At some point she’s gotta get tired of hearin’ it and let me join. In the mean time, I’s gonna go play with our new chirpy bird. Oh and link up with the Pet Parade too.

Hopefully the storms will clear up soon and we’ll be able to visit our furiends. The power has flashed off and on all week, and mommy won’t turn the catputer on when that’s happenin’, so me sure hopes that stuffs stops soon. We’re thinkin’ ‘bout all our furiends even tho’ we can’t get by to visit with ya’. You go play Raena and leave me alone, so me can take a nap.
