Meowllo evewypawdy, da weekend’s finally here! Woohoo Yous askin’ yousselff why me be so ‘cited it’s da weekend since meez a cat and meez mommy be disabled and home wiff us all da time anyways, wight? You wuld be wight ‘bout boff those fings, but it seems eeven tho’ mommy dusn’t work anymowe hers still kinda wuns like she duz. She twies to put in hers 12 hours on da puter evewyday workin’ on meez bloggy and visitin’ wiff ow furiends, and facebook and all da udder stuffs we do. And now hers puttin’ in extwa time wesearchin’ fings ‘bout sis Lexi’s CKD/CRF. So when da weekend comes, she usually spends mowe time wiff us and less on da puter. It keeps us behind in ow visitin’, but she sez all this wuz stawted fur us, and ifin she dusn’t spend time wiff us, then all this wuz fur naught. So dat’s why meez so happy ‘bout it bein’ da weekend. And meez hostin’ a dance at Cat Scouts tomowwo. Yeah me be a little nervous cuz meez never dun this afur, but meez still ‘cited cuz it’s gunna be so much fun. As you all know weez now 7 weeks into sis Lexi’s diagnosis of early stage Renal Failure. Hers diagnosis wuz made wiff a simple urinalysis and altho’ mommy asked fur bloodwork to be dun, ow Vet found dat unnecessary. Dat did bodder mommy a bit, but she wuz so shocked by da diagnosis she kuldn’t weally fink very clearly and let it go. She came home and dug in and stawted wesearchin’. Evewy where she looked, blood work seemed very purrtant. Has sumfin’ to do wiff da nummews and all. So when mommy took Lexi in fur hers 6 week check up, she again asked fur a blood work up. Da Vet completely ignored mommy and sed she wuz duin’ what she needed to be duin’ and dat sissy looked gweat. Now mommy wuz fwustwated. We like ow Vet and we get a small discount which weally helps, but mommy feels she weally needs mowe infurmation to manage sissy’s illness. Specially when we heard fwum ow sweet furiend Brian dat Zoe had beat this pawful fing based on hers nummews. So mommy set out to learn how to make Lexi da next one to beat this pawfull disease. Turns out dat wuz easier sed then dun.

Don’t know what’s up wiff da Vets wound here, but getting’ one to do a CBC/Sr. Blood Panel wuz hawder than we evew spected. Evewy time we turn wound one of ow furiends is havin’ their blood stolen, but dat’s not sumfin’ kitties wound here have to deal wiff pawently. But yesfurday we finally found a vet dat wuld do just dat. Now we need to find da munny to pay fur it afur ow pointment on Monday. Da cost is gunna be $132.00. Dat wuld include da office visit, Full CBC and a new urinalysis. We kuld get by wiff $100.00 and skip da urinalysis, but mommy wuld like to get furesh tests as ifin it wuz da furst time so she wuld have a complete picture of where sissy be at. Mommy found dat there awe noms out there dat sissy will eat dat not be outwageously purriced. They awen’t purrscwiption, but mommy hasn’t had any kitty dat wuld eat those purrscwiption diets. As weez sed afur, it be da phosphowous content dat needs to be low, not da purrotien. Altho’ da purrotien needs to be fwum a “good” source. Cat or Dog Lover…Controversy Unleashed

Meowllo and a happy Wednesday to ya’. Hav you evew wunnewed ‘bout da age old question “Are Dog peeps diffewent than Cat peeps?” And ifin so, what awe those diffewences? Well we set out to figger it out. And OMC is there a ton of infurmation on this topic. But there duz seem to be a consensus on a foo fings. And da biggest is dat there weally awe sum diffewences tween da two.

One of da biggest diffewences is dat Dog peeps obey da wules much better than cat peeps. Cat peeps don’t confurm to da nowm as well. Guess dat means ya’ fink outta da box a bit mowe. We know mommy sure duz. MOL Doggy peeps awe mowe extwoverted than da kitty peeps. Stands to weason they be duin’ all dat walkin’ and hangin’ in da dog pawks, while da kitty peeps be hangin’ at home wiff a cat in their lap.

And da most controversial question is: Hoo be smawter? Well fur what it’s worff, in a study of 600 students; da kitty peeps scowed higher on IQ tests than da doggy peeps did. But doggy peeps be mowe twustin’ and lively. Where da kitty lovers be mowe weserved. Although kitty peeps do tend to be a bit mowe open minded and acceptin’ of diffewences and change. Dog peeps awe genewally mowe outgoin’ than kitty peeps. Seems da kitty peeps be kind of stand offish as peeps say ‘bout us cats. Altho’ weez not fink we be stand offish at all.

Now we fink this one is wight on da munny. Dog peeps like companionship but cat peeps seek affection. Cat lovers tend to be mowe sensitive than dog lovers. And tend to purrfur solitude as opposed to crowds. And it seems dat dog peeps be a little mowe dominant than kitty peeps. Hmmmm Maybe kitty peeps awe sneakier and get their way by manipulation. MOL And it seems this same study found dat doggies wuz da most pawpulaw pet. In udder words mowe peeps in this study claimed to purrfur dogs to cats by 60% to 11%. Da udder 29% claimed to eevew like boff or neevew. Neevew, can you magine sumpawdy not likin’ a kitty or a doggy?

Anyways, it’s just a study. Altho’ sum of it seems to be twu and udders awe twu based on many studies. Da weal twuff is, there’s no absolute in da diffewencess in Cat Lovers and Dog Lovers. There awe no doubt diffewences and these awe most likely to hold twu, but we also don’t fink there will evew be a definitive test dat will give us all da answers. After all this is mostly peeps opinions ’bout themselves. And opinions vawy so widely there can’t be an absolute. Now, me duz hav kitty and doggy peeps as furiends. So tell me, what do yous fink? Meowllo evewypawdy hope yous enjoyed da weekend, cuz it’s Monday again. Fur sum of ya’ dat be da beginnin’ of da work week and fur udders just anudder day. Fur us, it’s gunna be a weview day. We told ya’ da udder day we got to twy this tweat dat sis Lexi weally liked. Well Chewy sent us this pawsum tweat fwum Orijen. You know Chewy has so many pawsum bwands to choose fwum, and da Orijen bwand is a all natural one. Their slogan be Nourish as nature intended. And dat’s da kind of ingwedients dat goes into their food and tweats.

So this tweat we twied is anudder fureeze dwied one. You know dat be ow favowit. And we chose da one called Tundra. It be made wiff ranch raised venison, elk, quail and steel head trout. Don’t those sound like sum yummy ingwedients? We sure fink so. And sis Lexi weally fawt so. Da Orijen bwand be made in Canada. And guess what?  This be anudder tweat dat be edible by boff kitties and doggies. 1 tweat fur da whole house. Isn’t dat gweat?  As me sed, sissy luvs ‘em and gives ‘em a 4 paws up. Yous wanna know ifin me liked ‘em too don’t ya’. Yep, me did. Me wuld giv ‘em 3 paws up. They also cwumble purretty easy so mommy can use ‘em as a toppin’ on ow noms. They come in these little cubes dat purrawlly be bite size fur a medium size doggy. But they be soft enuff to bweak into smaller bites fur us kitties.

So what duz mommy fink ‘bout ‘em? They be fureeze dwied and nuffin’ but da meat. So faw so good. They claim to be low calowie altho they don’t say how many calowies awe in a tweat. They be carbohydwate furee, so dat’s a good fing. They awe purriced ‘tween $5.49 – $12.99, so ‘bout avewage fur this kind of tweat. Da Tundra be easily cwumbled or bwoken so mommy likes dat. They come in a vawiety of flavors and altho’ da same ingwedients be in boff, they do have specifics fur dogs and cats. We just happened to get da dog tweats. Mommy will also sumtimes do this cuz you can get a lawger amount fur not much mowe munny ifin any. In this case, da one we got wuz a 2 oz bag (dog) and it cost da same purrice as da cat bag dat wuz only 1.25 oz. And we got da same ingwedients we just had to bweak them up into smaller bites. So overall mommy gave ‘em a fumms up too. We wuld like to twy da wild boar and da lamb ones too.

Our Blessings on Sunday

Meowllo evewypawdy and a happy and blest Sunday to  you. This is ow favowite posty of da week. We get to list sum of ow blessings and wemind udders to count theirs as well. This past week has been ruff on a lot of us. We had roofers here all week, and fank catness they don’t work on Sundays or mommy wuld purrawlly scweam, but they awe a blessin’ cuz ow pawtment needed a new roof and gutters. So migwaine and noise aside, they awe a blessing.

We also weceived help getting’ ow tire fixed so we kuld take Lexi to da Vet fur a wecheck of hers CRF. And da news we got ‘bout sis Lexi duin’ so much better than docs udder patients wiff hers condition is also a blessing. And we got help buyin’ hers medicine fur this mumff. And we weceived a kupple nip mats what weez been wantin’ fur da longest time. And just as spected, We Luv ‘em. And cuz of ow sweet furiends, we each hav ow very own. Now those awe tangible blessings dat we can see and feel. But we hav udder blessings as well.

We awe ever so gwateful fur these tangible blessings, but we awe also gwateful fur da ones we can’t weally see.  You know da ones. Da luv and purrayers of all ow furiends and fwamily. We know you be sendin’ ‘em cuz da Vet sed dat Lexi’s gweat condition is on account of mommy’s care, but we know it’s cuz of all da luv and purrayers she’s weceived. You know da peeps dat helped us wiff financial fings had to spend their munny afur it did any good. Dusn’t matter how much munny yous have, ifin yous not pay da went yous wuld be homeless. Ifin yous not pay fur food and supplies, you wuld die of stawvation. See havin’ munny dusn’t mean much, it’s how you spend it dat makes da diffewence. And Luv is a lot like dat too. We be evew so fankful to those dat spent their gween papers to help us.

You can hav a huge heart full of luv, but till you give dat luv away, it means nuffin’. It dusn’t benefit you or anypawdy else. Mowe offen than not when you share yous luv you weceive luv wight back. We like to fink we be spweadin’ da luv wound as much as we can. Evewy once in a while you share yous luv to sumpawdy and they don’t share it back. Mommy sez those awe da times when you share a little mowe. You not know what they be goin’ fwu, and they might just need a little extwa to help ‘em on their way. Sum peeps call this pawin’ it furward. Da twuff is you never know what da future holds and how you might have helped sumpawdy hoo in turn helps sumpawdy else in da future all cuz you shared a bit of luv and kindness. As always we awe so blest to have each and evewy one of you in ow lives. And member no matter what you be goin’ fwu you will make it and come out on da udder side mowe blest than afur.
