Dezi looking up on the steps

Now as me said, this is a treat recipe and therefur not nutritionally complete so it shouldn’t be da only thing you feed. And as with all these recipes, it’s purrfect fur all da meat eaters in your house includin’ da humans. You can substitute any protein (meat) that your furry purrfurs. As me’s told ya’ we don’t eat fish, so mommy replaces any fish in recipes with chicken, duck, lamb or beef. Me wishes she’d find a rabbit market, but alas…Well let’s get on with da recipe.

Catfish Drops/Chicken Drops/Liver Drops

1/2 pound dried Catfish or Cod or Chicken or Liver (you can also combine 2 or more proteins)

1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese

1/2 Cup Corn Meal or Cat Nip (mommy likes half and half)

1 Egg or Egg White beaten

Preheat oven to 325° Makes 20 – 30 Drops

1(a) Fish only: Put fish in bowl and add boiling water and let sit for 20 to 30 minutes and then drain

1(b) For Chicken or Livers: Cook Chicken or Livers and let cool (you may use canned chicken drained and dried)

2(b) Dice Chicken or Livers in kitty bite sizes

3. Mix Parmesan Cheese, Corn Meal and/orCatnip and beaten Egg in a bowl and add protein (fish, chicken or liver) and mix

4. Drop by teaspoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet

5. Bake for 7 to 10 minutes

6. Cool and Serve

Leftovers may be stored in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.

Did Somebody Say Rabbit #ChewyInfluencer

Meowllo Monday. You can’t get me down today, cuz me has some great treats to tell everypawdy about. As pawrt of da Chewy.com bloggin’ family me gets to try lots of great products dat me might not otherwise get to try. And da treats me’s gonna be tellin’ ya’ ‘bout today is just one of those things.

Dezi looks coyly from the cat tree

Me’s told you lots of times dat me’s favorite treats be of da Freeze Dried nature, so we were really excited to see Halo Liv-a-Littles as an offering this month. Me luvs their chicken breast. So delicious. Anyways, mommy thought it would be good to mix it up and give me da chance to try another furmula. We learned real quick when me changed to a freeze dried diet dat me luvs rabbit. Not da pet bunnies kinda rabbit, but da “wascally wabbits” kind of rabbit. So me couldn’t wait to give these Liv-a-Littles Farm Raised Rabbit a try.

Dezi rubbing the Halo Liv-a-Littles treat jar

Halo Liv-a-Littles are grain free and farm raised. They come in a 2.4 oz. jar and da rabbit costs $8.94. Da ingredients are: Rabbit, Salt and mixed tocopherols (preservative). There are five different flavor choices. They are little squares and mommy says they’re too hard to “break” or crumble. Because they’re basically rabbit they’re good fur both cats and doggies. So ifin you share your home with a woofie, no need to buy different treats. And remember. they be 100% grain free.

So what did da actual taste test reveal? Well mommy worried when she took da furst treat out and couldn’t break it up into smaller pieces. Fur a big kitty me likes little bitty bites. MOL But mommy offered me a bite of rabbit and me eagerly took it and started to chew. Me repositioned and chewed some more and finally broke it up. Me spit out half of it and continued to chew up and swallow da other half. And then me asked fur another piece. Yeah me knows me still had half a piece on da floor, but it was all wet and slobbery and me wanted a fresh piece. Me’s not spoiled one bit. Two paws up from me. They could be a little softer or crumblier, but all in all they be yummy. Mommy, what do you think ‘bout da Halo Liv-a-Littles Farm Raised Rabbit Treats?

 Dezi eats Halo rabbit treat

Well Dezi I was very happy that you ate them, or at least some of them. Thankfully Buddy doesn’t mind your left over dried up slobbered on treats, so the part you didn’t eat didn’t go to waste and he liked them as well as you did. Buddy gives them 2 paws up as well. The rabbit formula is not good for crumbling over other foods as an enticement and doesn’t seem to reconstitute in water very well, so they have to be eaten in their current cubed form. They don’t have the stench some rabbit products do so that’s a plus. All in all,I’m glad you liked them, so I give them a thumb up.

World’s Best: Blest Sunday #ChewyInfluencer

Well it’s time fur another Blest Sunday. You know me feels so blest to have a furever home with a mommy who luvs me more than anything and all our wonderful furiends. So when me can add a material blessing, me is always quadrupely blest. As you all know we luv Chewy.com and are thrilled to be pawrt of their blogging family known as #ChewyInfluencers. This month we got to try out a new litter. Well it’s new to us but some of you already use it. We’ve heard lots of good things ‘bout it so we couldn’t wait to receive it.

Dezi laying on the vanity
Me’s in da pawdee box room cuz me’s got a pawsum litter to tell you ’bout.

Chewy Logo

So what litter is it you ask? It’s da World’s Best Cat Litter Scoopable Multiple Cat Clumping Formula. We received da 7 pound bag. As most of you know, me is a big kitty who has a big litterbox. World’s Best says it works best with at least 2 to 3 inches of litter in da pan. Da 7 pound bag would be adequate for a small to medium size box. So mommy layered da World’s Best over me’s other litter so me could give it a try.

 World's Best Cat Litter

Chewy’s website doesn’t really say what makes up the World’s Best Cat Litter, but ifin you scroll over da foto it says it’s made from whole kernel corn and is 100% natural. And it’s flushable. Dat’s always a pawsitive in our books. They do make several different formulas. They all appear to be clumping but some are made with pine and some are scented while da one we chose is not. Truth be told, kitties don’t like scented litter. Companies do dat to appeal to da humans who do da buying. Below is a list of attributes listed about World’s Best Litter.

Key Benefits

  • Outstanding odor control
  • Quick clumping formula
  • 99% dust-free
  • Easy scooping
  • Pet, people and planet friendly

Dezi looking in the World's Best Cat litter bag

So what did me think about it? Well initially me kept smelling it and trying to taste it. So mommy had to mix it up with me’s current litter so me would use it fur it’s intended purr-puss. After mixing me used it without a thought. Me didn’t notice any dust so to speak when me was diggin’ so no sneezin’. It took care of me’s business so me gives it 2 paws up. Now let’s ask mommy what she thinks.

Is me supposed to eat this or pee on it?

Thank you baby. I’m glad you liked the World’s Best Cat Litter. I also didn’t notice any dust to speak of and love that it’s natural and flushable. I didn’t like seeing you trying to eat your litter, so there’s apparently a fragrance of some sort that you associate with food. But that was easily fixed by mixing it. And you made no further attempts once you had actually used it for its intended purpose. As you can see by the floor, it does track. The 7 pound bag is $6.99 and the largest bag at 28 pounds is $25.55. So pricewise it’s pretty equivalent to what we already spend on a bag of litter. It clumps nicely. So all in all I give it thumbs up too.

Thanks mommy. So this week was full of blessings. Paws up and thumbs up fur da World’s Best Clumping Cat Litter. Me has a real tasty treat to tell ya’ ‘bout this week, so you’ll have to stay tuned. You can get your own bag or check out all da great stuff Chewy carries here. Remember Chewy offers free speedy shipping on all orders of $49.00 or more and a flat rate fur all other orders. And they offer an auto ship program so you never have to worry about runnin’ out of your pets food or favorite treats. Now dat’s a blessin’ too.

Dezi naps in the cat bed

Dezi laying on cat tree and meowing

Oh Meowllo everypawdy, are you all happy dat it’s da weekend? Well me has a special treat fur you all today. Yep, me’s treat recipe posty was a big hit and so we’s gonna post another one fur ya’ today. Now ‘member these are treats straight from your kitchen and NOT nutritionally complete. We had one negative comment ‘bout how da last treat wasn’t species appropriate. To dat we replied, Not any worse than most of da pet food and treats on da market, and you don’t have to make it. So anyways let’s get on with our new recipe.

Sweet Dezi on cat tree

Now me wants to remind you dat you can use different proteins (meats) in most of these recipes. Mommy doesn’t like to feed us fish, so she often substitutes chicken, rabbit or duck fur da protein source. And these treats are edible by all da carnivores in your family. Another trick me furgot to tell you ‘bout last week is dat mommy often adds catnip to da recipe. Today we’re gonna take a little trip down under to Australia fur our recipe and we’re gonna make Kangaroo Hoppers. This recipe makes approximately 20 – 30 small balls.

Kangaroo Hoppers

1/2 pound shrimp, cleaned

1 Tbsp. Kelp powder or catnip

1/2 tsp vegetable or olive oil

1 Cup crushed Corn Flakes (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°

1. Clean and de-vein shrimp.

2. Boil until pink and cooked through

3. When cool, Puree shrimp and add Kelp powder/Catnip and oil

4. Roll into small balls and then roll through the Corn Flakes to coat (Corn Flakes add a little crunch)

5. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet or parchment paper for 10 – 15 minutes.

6. Cool and Serve.

7. Store leftovers in airtight container in fridge

Alas, no kangaroo in da Kangaroo Hoppers, but they are good. Now some of you are saying…kelp powder? Yeah, kelp powder is actually full of minerals and Omega fatty acids. It’s also a source of protein. Now we all know there’s nothin’ nutritious bout da corn flakes, but they do help add a little crunch to da bite. Ifin ya’ try these, let us know how they went over in your house.

Dezi lays in the cat bed

Me’s joinin’ Rascal and Rocco fur da weekly Pet Parade Blog Hop as always. Mommy told me last night dat she had some secret plans dat might result in a surprise fur me, so we’ll be ‘round to visit ya shortly. And me guesses we’s all gonna have to wait to find out ’bout mommys’ secret plans.
