Blest Sunday: We’re Late But Still Blest

MeOW C’mon Raena, hurry up mommy. Blest Sunday’s almost over. Here we purromissed everypawdy we’d be back fur Blest Sunday, and we almost didn’t make it. Hmmmpht Mommy, you’ve always said we could count on purromisses like we can count on day turnin’ into night. Ifin we make a purromiss, we always keep it.

You’re right baby, I do indeed say that. I’m sorry I forgot to pack the computer. When you got sick this past week and then I got sick, the computer was really the last thing on my mind. But, we’re here now and we are most definitely Blest.

We sure are sissy. What a pawsum weekend we’ve had.

Yeah Raena, me’s so very fankful fur all our Blessings. Fur those of ya’ that don’t follow or aren’t furiends with us on facebook, let me tell ya’ what happened earlier in the week. As ya’ know, we were plannin’ on goin’ to BlogPaws fur at least a day and then pawin’ in to visit one of our long time awnties from facebook. The day befur we were to leave, the lawn crew showed up fur their furst visit of the season and stirred up all the allergens and made me sick. Then, in mommy’s haste to pack, she knocked the shelf containin’ her purrfumes off the wall and one of them broke. It was one of her faves by the way. Anyways, the bedroom and the whole house fur that matter smelled like a Furench whorehouse. No offense intended. We really do like the smell of that purrfume.

Yeah sissy, but a little goes a long way. That’s the way it is with those ‘spensive purrfumes. Mommy says she’ll purrobably never be able to replace it.

Anyways….(meowmbles to herself), “Who’s meowin’ this story anyhow? The very next day, the lawn crew showed up yet again. 2 days in a row. T’ween the purrfume and the lawn allergens, all of us got sick. It looked like our trip was off. Fankfully, mommy had the furthought to ask awnty Kat, Bearcat’s mommy to register us when she got there, so we’ll get our swag bag from the confurence. Still, we had so looked furward to a little break. Mommy really needed a break what with all this nonsense goin’ on with her dentures. So, come Furiday, we took off to visit with awnty Nora and Roo at the Cat Motel. Fanks to awnty Cindy fur the green papers she had sent us fur the tip, mommy decided we were goin’ come hell or high water. And ya’ know what? It poured down rain and we nearly froze our tushies off on Caturday, but, we had a great visit. Least mommy did. Raena and me got to spend the weekend in the greatest motel room ever.

But I’s didn’t get to go shoppin’ fur mine’s birthday purresent sissy. Fanky fanks to awnty Vonda and awnty Anonymous, I’s have birthday money. And mommy said I’s could pick out whatever I’s wanted so long as I’s get somethin’ fur you too.

You’re right Raena, you didn’t get to go shoppin’. but, there wasn’t anywhere to go where we were at anyways; and with all that rain, you wouldn’t have wanted to get out anyways. Besides, mommy purromissed she’d take you shoppin’ when the weather warmed up some. So, you’re still gonna get to pick out your birthday gift, it’s just gonna be a little later.

I’s investigated the bathroom at the motel.

I’s can’t wait, sissy. ‘Specially since we shared a couple of our Yeowww nip toys with the kitties at the motel. Mommy said they luvved ‘em. I’s so glad we could share and make a couple of kitties really nip happy.

Me too Raena. Me always gets happy when we share. Well, needless to say, we’re all exhausted. So, we’ll tell ya’ more ‘bout our trip and share more fotos, later. Fur now, we’d just like to fank awnty Nora fur havin’ us fur a visit. We wanna come back when the weather’s better and we can do more visitin’. And we wanna fank you all fur bein’ patient with us while we get caught up and bein’ unnerstandin’ that mommy needed a little time off. We’d also like to remind you all to take a minute today and every day to give Thanks fur the Blessings in your life.

Blest Sunday: Friends Are Such A Blessing

Dezi: MeOW C’mon Raena, it’s time fur Blest Sunday. And me’s feelin’ purrticularly Blest this week; how ‘bout you?

Raena: Me too sissy, me too. After all, mine’s 2nd birthday is comin’ up this Caturday the 21st. Are you gonna tell me what you and mommy are plannin’ to make it special?

Who says we’re plannin’ anythin’ Raena?

Uh, you did sissy and so did mommy. You both said there’d be no actual pawrty on mine’s big day, but ya’ll would make it up to me by doin’ somethin’ really special.

Oh that?! You’re right Raena. There’s no way we’d let your special day pass without doin’ somethin’ special fur ya’. Ya’ know, mommy said we’d throw you a huge bash on your Gotchaday this year ifin we toned down your birthday. But, that doesn’t mean we’re gonna totally furget ‘bout your birthday.

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

Well fanky fank the cats. I’s was startin’ to think some of that mud mommy put on her hair had seeped into ya’ll’s brains.

Well Raena, you know why mommy was puttin’ that mud on her hair, don’cha?

Uh…Not really sissy, no.

We’re gonna have fun, fun, Fun!!!

(Dezi thinks back to the sight of mommy A with all that henna mud on her hair last night and how Raena kept tryin’ to dip her paw into the bowl and laughs.) Oh Raena, you know how vain mommy is. She wanted to cover up all her gray hairs, courtesy of none other than some sisfur who shall remain nameless, befur we went to meet furiends. Mommy’s been makin’ big plans fur us to meet some very special kitties and awnty Nora. She’s even planned fur us to spend a day at BlogPaws. All in celebration of your big day. It’s gonna be your very furst big road trip.

Well sissy, I’s know lots of peeps are talkin’ ‘bout this BlogPaws thingy, will I’s like it?

As much as you like to go out and meet peeps Raena, me’s sure you’re gonna like it. And let me tell ya’, there’s some pawsum swag that goes along with it. There’s no tellin’ what we’ll come home with. The year sis Lexi and me went, we brought home so many treats and noms and toys that the whole bed was covered in goodies. So, mommy says since it’s your birthday weekend you get furst choice of whatever you want from the swag bag. And, mommy plans on chattin’ it up with some of the brands to see ifin we can’t work out some quid pro quo with ‘em.

Quid pro quo? I’s didn’t know you meowed in Latin sissy. What ‘zactly does that mean anyways?

Uh, well, it just means we hope they’ll give us somethin’ that we can use and share with our furiends. And they get the honor of us meowin’ ‘bout it. After all, who could say no to our bootyful faces?

Hmmmmm That does sound like fun, sissy. I’s gettin’ really x’cited. I’s also wanna fanky fank awnty Vonda fur sendin’ me some birthday green papers. I’s haven’t picked out mine’s actual purresent yet, but I’s can’t wait to go shoppin’. Maybe I’s can go shoppin’ while we’re on our trip.

Maybe Raena. There’ll be purrlenty of time fur you to choose your gift. Mommy says cuz we’re gonna be travelin’ and away from home most of this week, we’re gonna take the week off.

Not completely sissy. Mommy says that altho’ we won’t be writin’ blog posties till our next Blest Sunday, we will be keepin’ in touch every now and then thru our other social media sites. She also said ifin she can figger out how to work this smarty pants fone, we could actually do a couple of live videos from awnty Nora’s and the conference. That would mean we could actually meow with our furiends in real time.

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. Sissy, what happened to Spring? I’s thought everypawdy said it was furinally here? It’s all yucky and cold and stormy out there. I’s want Mr. Sunshine to come back.

We all do, Raena. Unfurtunately, we’re still in fur some cold weather. Y, Did you see that the weather guessers said that we were in fur a fureeze this week?

Yep sissy, I’s saw that. And, ya’ know mommy’s done took the ‘lectric blanky off the bed. Guess we’ll just have to do some extra close cuddlin’ till it warms up. Mommy said she wasn’t puttin’ the ‘lectric blanky back on the bed, no matter what.

Yeah Raena…me luvs the ‘lectric blanky. But, me luvs cuddlin’ with mommy even more. Surely Spring’s gonna be here soon. Till then it’s cuddles a’purrlenty fur us. We’re also in fur high winds, so when you and mommy go out to the doctor and dentist this week, ya’ll better be careful.

Fanky fanks sissy. You know mommy’s always careful when we’re in the car. Meowin’ of goin’, I’s gotta get ready to go with mommy today. But, did you see what we got in the mail yesfurday?

Me did Raena. Did you call Alberto and invite ‘em over fur a play date yet?

Well, no sissy, I’s thought you would do that. You’re the oldest after all. And we all know how much you luvs the fone.

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. What a pawsum pawrty we had here over the weekend. Celebratin’ milestones such as Blogoversaries can be so much fun. I’s didn’t google it, so I’s don’t know the real nummers, but hundreds of blogs are started each year, and only a few actually keep goin’. So, a Blogoversary really is a purretty big deal.

You’re right Raena. Now, let’s get to some fun today. Ya’ know, those 18 Purrfectly Amazing Facts About Us game we played. Several of ya’ played along and made your guesses. We really luvved seein’ your answers. Now, let’s see what our answers are and see who got the most answers right.

18 Purrfectly Amazing Facts

1. Favorite smell: Dezi: Mommy

Raena: I’s agree sissy, I’s luvs the way mommy smells.

2. Last time I hissed: Dezi: This meownin’ when Raena fell off the side of the tub and landed on me.

Raena: I’s don’t do a lot of hissin’, but, I’s did hiss last week when the sleet hit mine’s stroller. Mommy says I’s was a little scared. I’s meow that I’s was just makin’ sure the sleet knew I’s was the boss.

3. Favorite pizza: Dezi: Me thought everypawdy would get this one. But me got to thinkin’ ya’ll may actually think we’re kiddin’ and that pepperoni pizza be mommy’s favorite food and not ours. But nuffin’ could be further from the truth. Mommy’s fave food is a nice steak, baked tater and yeasty roll.

Rana: Sure ‘nuff sissy. One of our favorite human foods is pepperoni pizza. We don’t get it very offen, but we do luvs it. Mommy doesn’t get her favorite food either. MOL

4. Favorite Flower: Me luvs roses and nip flowers.

Raena: I’s luvs nip flowers too sissy.

5. Favorite dog breed: Dezi: Me’s BlogPaws ‘sperience kind’a made me not care fur doggies in general. But, me does luv our sweet furiend Da Phenny the Weimaraner.

Raena: I’s luvs Phenny too, sissy. I’s not really met many doggies, so I’s can’t really meow much on this question.

6. Favorite ice cream: Baskin Robbins white chocolate and regular chocolate.

Raena: What’s Baskin Robbins, sissy? I’s never had any of that.

Dezi: That’s cuz we don’t have one anywhere near us. Our local grocery store used to carry them and when he clearanced them out, mommy bought every last one. It’s her favorite too.

7. Pet peeve: Dezi: Peeps that throw out or return beluvved furry family members when they’re inconvenient. Declawin’ kitties, Irrespawnsible pet owners, peeps that won’t spay or neuter, ‘specially their non pedigreed anipals, and…so many more. (Mommy A waves for Dezi to get down off her soap box and continue answering the questions.)

Raena: Ooooh sissy, all those things bother me too.

8. Shorts or jeans: Dezi: Neither, me has bloomers

Raena: Mine’s bloomers are longer and fluffier than yours, sissy. (Dezi shakes her head)

9. Color of your PTU: Dezi: Well, we have a stroller, and it’s blue.

Raena: Mommy says I’s broke it sissy. She’s gonna try to get us a new one soon. I’s want animal purrint, how ’bout you?

10. Color of your eyes: Dezi: Blue of course. Mommy says me’s eyes remind her of a blue diamond.

Raena: I’s thought that was mine’s eyes and yours looked like blue jeans, sissy.

Dezi: Hisssss We both have diamond blue eyes Raena. Now be nice!!!

11. Favorite food: Dezi: Rabbit!!! Me luvs me some Rabbit.

Raena: Rabbit’s mine’s favorite too. Yummmmmmy

12. Least favorite food: Dezi: Sorry Tabbies, we just don’t like fish.

Raena: X’cept fur those bonito flakes sissy. We do like those.

13. Favorite Holiday: Dezi: Christmas, me’s Birthday, me’s Gotchaday, me’s…

Raena: Sissy, It’s mine’s turn. I’s luv any holiday that includes more cuddles and luvvin’ with mommy.

14. Night owl or morning person: Dezi: Night owl, just like mommy.

Raena: Me too, sissy. I’s a real night owl. I’s can stay up with mommy till dawn.

15. Favorite day of the week: Dezi: Any day we can spend with mommy is a favorite day. But, we do luv Blest Sunday.

16. Do you have a nick name: Dezi: Me has lots of nicknames, mommy calls me her blue eyed angel, baby bear, angel, sweetheart, luv bug, muffin, darlin’, baby…

Raena: We get it sissy. I’s have lots of the same nicknames, includin’ punkin’, baby girl, punkin’ pie, Rayhahnan, RB and Belle.

17. Favorite music: Dezi: Me luvs when mommy sings to me. Me also luvs country gospel.

Raena: Me too sissy. I’s luvs the songs mommy makes up and sings to us.

18. Tattoos: Dezi: Sis Lexi had a tattoo, so me wanted one too. But, mommy said they don’t do that any more.

Raena: I’s never seen a tattoo, but I’s know mommy wants one of all her angel babies.

We really luvs doin’ these, so we hope CK keeps it up. As sissy meowed earlier, several of ya’ played along. Valentine got 3 out of 5 right, awnty Ellen got 2 out of 2, Travis was spot on that our eyes are blue, sweet Annie got 3 of 4 and sweet Katie got 2 of 4. Since we’re all inclusive kitties, and we could never choose one furiend over another, we had mommy make all of you this great badge. Fanks mommy fur makin’ the pawsum badge fur us. Befur we wrap it up today, we’d like to take a minute to recognize that today is World Spay Day. Spaying your pet isn’t just ‘bout ending unwanted pregnancies that contribute to pet overpopulation. It’s also ‘bout the health of your pets. Spaying your female anipals helps to minimize the risk of mammary cancer, uterine cancer, inappropriate spraying/marking and aids your pets’ overall health. Contrary to old beliefs, spaying doesn’t make your pet lazy or become overweight. Ifin that happens, that’s on the humans. Spayed felines can and will hunt, play and do everything they did befur with the exception of reproducing. So purrlease, spay or neuter your pets. Even we have a low cost spay/neuter clinic, so check with your local shelter fur one in your area.

That’s a pawsum reminder, sissy. Mommy isn’t a fan of altering animals at a really young age, but she’s fur sure all ‘bout alterin’. We’ve both been spayed. It wasn’t mine’s favorite day, but I’s much healthier and happier cuz of it. We’re gonna wrap it up now. See you all soon.
