Yes dear of course I am, but why are you so happy about it?

 

Cuz mommy most of meez Cat Scouts activities happen on da weekend and this weekend be no ‘ception.

 

You’re right about that sweetheart. Y’all do stay busy don’t ya’?

 

And we have fun too mommy. So me was finkin’ since our weekends be so busy wiff fings like Cat Scouts dat maybe we shuld tell Service animal stories durin’ da week and take a bit of a bweak on da weekends. You know we still have a kupple more give aways this mumff too. And even tho a lot of our twainin’ stowries be a little on da amusin’ side, they can also be a little heavy in content. And of course we luv writin’ our Blest Sunday posty.

Well dear I think that sounds like a great plan. So you’ll tell another training story in the series on Monday?

 

Dat’s wight mommy. Me needs sum time to write ‘bout udder stuffs too. Cat Scouts wecently stawrted a badge wound “Flat Scouts”. It’s where us Scouts make a mini flat us and then go and visit udder scouts. Boff da twavelin’ scout and da host scout earn points fur their purrticipation. And those points go towards our purrmotions. And mommy, me put out a open invitation to all da scouts to come and stay wiff us. Me knew you and sissy wuldn’t mind. And, meez alweady had a few dat sed they wuld be contactin’ me soon to make awangements to come and visit. Me fawt we kuld hang on da Fandango Liberty Cat Twee, go fur a few stwolls and me kuld even give ‘em a lesson in wheelchair basics. What do yous fink mommy?

 

Well honey I think that sounds like a plan but some of your friends might be afraid of the wheelchair, so you need to check with them before assuming they would want to be anywhere near it.

Caturday Art Updates

It’s Caturday and weez chillin’ and getting’ sum much needed rest. When sissy got sick last week nopawdy slept. She kuldn’t stay outta da pawdee box and me didn’t know what to fink and well all mommy kuld do was cwy and purray. Not haviin’ gween papers to help sissy was tearin’ at mommys heart. And then came da night when it got weally bad. Sissy was runnin’ to da pawdee box so offen she shulda just stayed there. And then she wuld lay down to “clean” hers ouchy, cuz youz know it hurt, and wuld hold hers leg up a little and nuffin’ but blood wuld seep out. Mommy put piddle pads on da bed and unnew neaff her and she didn’t even move. Mommy was cwyin’ and me was wipin hers tears wiff meez paws and in tween pawdee box visits sis Lexi was still twyin’ to give mommy head massages. And dat wuld make mommy cwy even hawrder. Cuz there sissy was bein ‘bout as sick as a kitty can get, but still twyin’ to work and take care of mommy. Ifin dat ain’t da epitome of a Service animal me dusn’t know what is.

So da next meownin’ fwu a face full of tears and a heart dat was bweakin’ into itty bitty pieces, mommy cweated a YouCaring fundraiser fur Lexi’s care. We owe da VET fur our wecent visits and till they be paid off weez can’t go back. And it had become evident dat hims wasn’t even takin’ our calls cuz nopawdy had ever called us back when mommy called in ‘bout me bein’ so sick after dat rabies vaccine. Yes, da VET is all bout da gween papers and yes, we need a new one, but da sad fing is dat all da VETs in our awea be da same way. And wiffout gween papers to pay them, weez can’t go see anypawdy new eever. So anyways, after mommy made da funraiser she posted it and shared it. Not too long after a few donations came in. Mommy had alweady checked da purrices of antibiotics online so when there was enuff gween papers to cover da cost of them mommy took da chance and called our VETs office. They had all gone home fur da day even tho’ it wasn’t even 5 o’clock. Turns out dat was da bestest fing dat kulda happened fur us. Cuz when mommy called da VETs emergency cell fone, he actually called hers back.

 

He was quite purrterbed and sed hims was dealin’ wiff a furmily emergency and what did mommy want. She told hims she had hers own emergency and splained what was goin’ on wiff sissy. So he abwutly sed, “I guess you want me to call in some antibiotics, huh?” Mommy weplied in da affurmative and hims chose da most spensive fawmacy wound and then called in da most spensiv antibiotic hims kuld and told them we kuldn’t have da generwic. Mommy be fwugal and wulda purrfured da generic so as to make da gween papers go furver cuz sissy will still have ongoin’ medical due to da CKD, but in this instance there was nuffin’ mommy kuld do ‘bout it and she just wanted Lexi to get sum weal medicine. It had been stowrmin’ like cwasy here fur da last kupple days and it was pourwin’ wain when mommy and me left fur da fawmacy. Weez got to twy out da stwoller raincoat cover and it worked. Mommy was so fwazzled hers didn’t get any fotos, but weez sure weez’ll have to use it again. sumday and hopefully da next time will be unnew better circumstances and mommy will get fotos. Anyways, we got da medicine and headed home. Once home mommy gave sis Lexi hers furst dose.

Not even 30 minutes later she fwu it up. Mommy gave hers anudder dose and fixed us our dinner. Fankfully sissy kept down da next dose and each dose since then. And fankfully she’s on da road to wecoverwy. Ain’t dat wight sissy?

Youz rite Dezi, I’z feelin’ much better now. I’z kant faynk youz awl enuff fur helpin’ mommy to git me sum medzin. I’z kant say dat I’z likez da medzin or how it tayztz, but I’z taykin’ it like a good gerl and feelin’ better ebberday. Mommy had planz too mayk a grayt video faynk you fur awl ov ya’, but az iz paw fur da korz, I’z not beez koe-aw-purraytin’. Mommy sez datz awlwayz a good sign dat I’z feelin’ good. Afur I’z gawdid sick wiv diz UTI minez CKD wuz purrettee staybull soz mommy hoepz too git me back der. Mommy sed shez will leeb da fundrayzer up cuz minez CKD medzinz still habz too beez bawt on a reguler baysiz and minez speshul nomz too. And I’z gunna needz mower VET vizitz and blood steelin’. Staying Hidden

Well da fire boomers got weally loud last night. Da garwage band and da fire boomers seemed to be in competition over who was gunna be loudest. Weez gunna call it a tie.

I’m sorry girls. I wish I could make them stop. I wish I controlled the world and could do away with all the things that scare you.

We know mommy. And we boff luv ya’ fur it. But we know you can’t do dat fur us any more than our furiends pawents can do it fur them. So me fawt me wuld talk a bit today on how to make this holiday better fur yous furry furmily members. Cuz altho’ most of us kitties get scared of da fire boomers, so do a lot of our doggy furiends. So let me say furst, KNOW yous fur baby. Come on, you know whedder they be fwaid of this nonsense or not. And ifin they awe, don’t force them to go wiff ya’ to see da fireworks show in da pawrk. It’s not fair to them or you; and nopawdy has a good time. So da furst fing you can do fur yous fur babies duwin’ all da celebwations is make them feel safe. Mommy closes da big door and it muffles da sound a bit. Ifin da fire boomers awe goin’ on wight outside, then maybe yous can put yous furry in a bedroom and close dat door. Member ifin yous shut them up in a room to purrvide furesh water so they don’t get dehydwated. Member this is Pet hydwation Awareness Mumff. Altho’ anytime is a bad time fur yous furry to be dehydwated, it sure wuld be a shame ifin it happened this mumff fur sure.

So yous closed yous furry in a room all their own fur their safety, what’s next? Purrvide them wiff sumfin’ they find comfurtin’. You know a favowit bed, or toy, or sumfin’ wiff yous scent on it. A shirt or pillow. Mommys scent is stwongest in da bed sheets so a lot of times dat’s where we hide. Have you ever looked fur yous kitty or doggy only to find them hanginn’ unner da covers of da bed? Weez be surrounded by yous scent and feel safe there. Be sure we have identification on our collars or awe microchipped. You never know, we might get so scared we jump fwu a window. or a BBQ guest might open da door to our sanctuary while lookin’ fur da pawdee box room, and in all da ‘citement, we might run out. Speakin’ of pawdee boxes, don’t furget to leave us one in our safe place. Just cuz weez scared dusn’t mean we stop needin’ to pee.

And all dat cutesy glow in da dawk jewelry…it’s poisonous. Not so much so dat weez gunna die (dependin’ on da amount), but it will make us sick and feel like weez wanna die. You know dat feelin’. Most adults have had it at least once in their lives. And even tho’ we may be beggin’ fur BBQ extwas, don’t give ‘em to us. And absolutely NO alcohol. Lighters and matches, used to ignite yous fire boomers awe also dangerwous fur us. Deadly in fact, so keep ‘em outta our reach. In udder words best you celebwate this holiday on yous own. Hey sumtimes you hoomans need to have sumfin’ dat dusn’t include us. And fur this one day, weez okay wiff dat. Just make sure weez safe, wiff furesh water, food, tweats, toys and a pawdee box or piddle pads. Weez’ll be hidin’ out, but weez safe so you go and have fun, and weez gunna close up and play wiff mommy. Sissy got a purrezzy this week and weez havin’ a blast. Finally Furiday

Well it be da weekend finally and we plan to take it easy and do a bunch of nuffin’. Well lexi and me do. Mommy on da udder hand…she’s got lots to do. Oh and sumpawdy asked ‘bout why we wuld have a pawdee box room full of piddle pads. Well ifin yous member last year when our pawrtment flooded, then yous’ll also member dat me was goin’ pee on da floor, and mommy wasn’t too happy ‘bout dat. So she covered da floor in piddle pads so it wuld make fur easy peasy cleanup. And altho’ me dusn’t use da floor anymore, mommy still puts sum down hopin’ we will use them fur fwo up. And da twuff is, sumtimes we do, and sumtimes we don’t. MOL Anyways, weez gunna twy to visit today and then mommy’s gunna be finishin’ gatherin’ up all da infurmation fur our lease wenewal this weekend so she can turn it in furst fing Monday.

We also got asked what zactly it was dat had mommy so busy and why it was takin’ so much time. Well as you know weez not have much money so weez live in subsidized housing. And dat means mommy has to have all hers medical weceipts and money spensez and stuffs copied to turn in every year. And since we had a flood, our pawrtment packed up and then unpacked and put back togedder, everyfin’ mommy needs isn’t in da same place. Kittens, sum of it isn’t even anywhere near where it shuld be, so it’s takin’ her a while to find everyfin’. Weez didn’t make da rules and weez fur sure not weally like ‘em, but we do like havin’ a roof over our heads and centwal heat and air so we do have to follow ’em. So hopefully all will go well and mommy will get it all gathered up and submitted Monday and then we can sit back and welax till we actually sign da lease. Da manager insists on readin’ every word of da 13 page fing to mommy. As ifin she’s illiterate or sumfin’.
