Woohoo Yous askin’ yousselff why me be so ‘cited it’s da weekend since meez a cat and meez mommy be disabled and home wiff us all da time anyways, wight? You wuld be wight ‘bout boff those fings, but it seems eeven tho’ mommy dusn’t work anymowe hers still kinda wuns like she duz. She twies to put in hers 12 hours on da puter evewyday workin’ on meez bloggy and visitin’ wiff ow furiends, and facebook and all da udder stuffs we do. And now hers puttin’ in extwa time wesearchin’ fings ‘bout sis Lexi’s CKD/CRF. So when da weekend comes, she usually spends mowe time wiff us and less on da puter. It keeps us behind in ow visitin’, but she sez all this wuz stawted fur us, and ifin she dusn’t spend time wiff us, then all this wuz fur naught. So dat’s why meez so happy ‘bout it bein’ da weekend. And meez hostin’ a dance at Cat Scouts tomowwo. Yeah me be a little nervous cuz meez never dun this afur, but meez still ‘cited cuz it’s gunna be so much fun. As you all know weez now 7 weeks into sis Lexi’s diagnosis of early stage Renal Failure. Hers diagnosis wuz made wiff a simple urinalysis and altho’ mommy asked fur bloodwork to be dun, ow Vet found dat unnecessary. Dat did bodder mommy a bit, but she wuz so shocked by da diagnosis she kuldn’t weally fink very clearly and let it go. She came home and dug in and stawted wesearchin’. Evewy where she looked, blood work seemed very purrtant. Has sumfin’ to do wiff da nummews and all. So when mommy took Lexi in fur hers 6 week check up, she again asked fur a blood work up. Da Vet completely ignored mommy and sed she wuz duin’ what she needed to be duin’ and dat sissy looked gweat. Now mommy wuz fwustwated. We like ow Vet and we get a small discount which weally helps, but mommy feels she weally needs mowe infurmation to manage sissy’s illness. Specially when we heard fwum ow sweet furiend Brian dat Zoe had beat this pawful fing based on hers nummews. So mommy set out to learn how to make Lexi da next one to beat this pawfull disease. Turns out dat wuz easier sed then dun.
Don’t know what’s up wiff da Vets wound here, but getting’ one to do a CBC/Sr. Blood Panel wuz hawder than we evew spected. Evewy time we turn wound one of ow furiends is havin’ their blood stolen, but dat’s not sumfin’ kitties wound here have to deal wiff pawently. But yesfurday we finally found a vet dat wuld do just dat. Now we need to find da munny to pay fur it afur ow pointment on Monday. Da cost is gunna be $132.00. Dat wuld include da office visit, Full CBC and a new urinalysis. We kuld get by wiff $100.00 and skip da urinalysis, but mommy wuld like to get furesh tests as ifin it wuz da furst time so she wuld have a complete picture of where sissy be at. Mommy found dat there awe noms out there dat sissy will eat dat not be outwageously purriced. They awen’t purrscwiption, but mommy hasn’t had any kitty dat wuld eat those purrscwiption diets. As weez sed afur, it be da phosphowous content dat needs to be low, not da purrotien. Altho’ da purrotien needs to be fwum a “good” source. Meollow evewypawdy, hope yous enjoyin’ yous Caturday. And we hope da wedder in yous awea is stawtin’ to clear up and get warmer. It is fur us. Mommy’s had da fans on fur days now. And she even had to use da air conditioner in da caw da udder day. Weez had roofers out here all week so weez all a bit fed up wiff all da noise. Mommy sez she has da mudder of all migwaines and sis Lexi and me fink we purrawlly do too. Pawt of pawtment livin’ means yous not get to choose what work be dun or when it gets dun. Altho’ management has been told fur years they needed to weplace da roof, we just never spected it to happen. After all, it’s like pullin’ teef to get them to do anyfin’. But they awe finally weplacin’ da roof. And these guys even worked in da rain yesfurday. Not like any roofers weez ever known.
As me sed last time we wuz able to get a new tire and so mommy and Lexi went to da Vet on Fursday. Da roofers had been wight over head all meownin’ so we wuz boff on edge. Lexi wuz so stwessed out dat when they left she wuz singin’ da song of ow peeps purretty loudly. When dat happens da only fing dat’ll calm us down is mommy singin’ to us. So mommy and Lexi sang togedder fur a bit and then Lexi settled down and they made their way to da Vet. Once there mommy asked him ifin he cawwied any of da calmin flower essences, and hims acted like him had never heard of ‘em. Then it wuz time to look at sissy.
He felt all over her and mashed hers kidneys and bladder, and twied to look in hers mouff to see ifin she wuz anemic. He sed it wuz too dawk in there to weally tell, but mommy had checked her earlier and kknew she wuz fine. Hims didn’t wun any tests but sed she wuz duin’ faw better than any of hims udder patients in da same condition. Hims sed dat wuz a twibute to mommys care. And even tho’ this wuz a wecheck, hims still chawged us fur an office visit. Mommy asked again ‘bout a blood panel and hims just basically ignored her. So altho’ we can’t afford a lot of tests and stuff, mommy be a little put out wiff him. Seems a lot of us in da blogosphere awe havin’ twubbles wiff ow long time VETs.
Mommy’s been duin’ a lot of wesearch and asked him ‘bout sum of da udder supplements and tweatments udders awe usin’ and hims dismissed them and sed dat we wuz duin’ all we needed too wight now. Hims hadn’t even heard of one of da purroducts made by da same company as Lexi’s curwent medicine, and it’s used fur da same disease. Mommy’s finkin’ afur long she’s gunna know mowe ‘bout this disease and it’s tweatments than Dr. C duz. She’s not so sure she likes dat idea. She sez she spects mowe fwum ow Vet. But weez set now fur anudder 6 weeks and then weez’ll hav to decide what to do then. Mommy can’t afford to go back evewy 6 weeks and buy da medicine too. Dat’s technically evewy mumff fur those of us dat get paid only once a mumff. We wuz very furtunate to have one of meez furiends and fellow Cat Scout to pay fur sissy’s medicine this time.
Now me has meez own nip mat and Lexi has hers. Fanks Miss Ellen and sweet Tabbies, we do luv ’em. and we even know which one is ours. 🙂
But sissy shuld also be eating a weally good quality diet wiff da wight purrotiens and not so much phosphorous. Pawently doctows purrscwibe a low purrotien diet in these cases; but it’s not weally da purrotien dat needs to be low, it’s da phosphorous. And da purrotien shuld be top notch. So mommy’s gunna stawt lookin’ wound to twy and find sumfin’ dat meets those wequirements dat sissy will eat. Cuz eatin’ be mowe purrtant than worryin’ ‘bout what’s in it. She has lost a lot of weight, but is holdin’ steady wight now, so dat’s a good fing. Altho’ ideally she shuld put on a little mowe weight. And twust me, mommy be twyin’ to help dat out. Anytime sissy wants sumfin’, she gets it. And weez got a weview comin’ up this week ‘bout sumfin’ sissy has ‘cided she weally likes. She’s still dwinkin’ like a fish which is good; it keeps her hydwated. And in weturn she’s got da biggest clumps ow pawdee boxes hav ever seen.

Now on anudder note, member we got a nip mat fwum Miss Ellen, and da Tabbies o Twout town told her to send theirs to us too. They actually won theirs but wanted us to boff hav a mat of ow own. So Miss Ellen sent us da furst one and wiff it she sent da cutest pencils fur mommy. They hav pictures of kitties on them dat wesemble us. And wiff da second mat came a Seuss hat dat we purrawmissed at least one of us wuld model. Well wiff all da commotion dat’s goin’ on there’s not a chance mommy’s gunna get dat fing on meez head, so sissy volunteered to model it. Fanks sissy fur enduwin’ da foto shoot.
And we got a email da udder day dat’ll make all meez bacon luvvin’ kitties happy. Seems Friskies has lissened to all of us and they’ve put weal bacon in a line of their canned noms. They even hav a contest goin’ on where you kuld win a whole year of these bacon noms. While mommy and sissy wuz out, they picked up a kupple cans of these baconated noms cuz mommy found a coupon fur them; and OMC Lexi licked da bowl clean. This is not da purrfect food fur hers condition, but anyfin’ hers eats like dat makes mommy happy. Specially since she’s been not eatin’.

Meowllo evewypawdy weez almost fwu anudder week. We weally can’t believ how fast this year be goin’. Well ow snow melted and oh we wuz so happy. Da sun even came out fur ‘bout 15 minutes on Tuesday. And then…da heavens opened and out of them came ICE. Yep dat’s wight, ice. Not snow or water, but sleet. And it didn’t just fall, it stuck. We nevew got abuv fureezin’ temps on Wednesday. Da wind howled like a wolf all day and night. And now it’s all white outside again. These fotos wuz taken ’bout 2 in da aftewnoon. Lookit how dawk it is out there. Mommy sez she sure hopes this stuff melts today cuz we hav herz wegular doctows pointment on Furiday. Kuld get innewestin’ dat’s fur sure.
So it’s almost time fur sis Lexi’s wecheck too. Mommy’s a little nervous, and so is sissy ifin twuff be told. Hers not gained any weight, but fur da most pawt she be eatin’ purretty good. She luvs hers butter spoon (medicine) and me even gets a little lick after she finishes. Dat butter be good stuff. You know sis Lexi eats on da table and mommy has a make shift step fur her outta one of da dinin’ woom chairs. And a while back she fell while twyin’ to jump up in da chair. Well you wulda fawt she had been hit by a mack twuck da way mommy made over her and cwied. And since then sh’e mostlly dun okay. She’s kinda slipped a foo times, but no more flat out falls till Tuesday. And she fell again while twyin’ to get in da chair to get to da table. And it wusn’t a purretty, gwaceful fall eevew. She turned and fell wight on hers bumpkus. Mommy wuz of course not faw away at da counter makin’ ow dinner. And when she saw sissy fall she panicked and wan over to see ‘bout her. Mommy wuz bawlin’ and sissy wuz meowin’. She’s not hurt just lappin’ up da extwa luvvin’.

Mommy sez on top of evewyfin’ this cold, nasty wedder be wreakin’ havoc wiff their awfuritis. But of course we do purreciate yous continued purrayers. Meez gunna cut it short today cuz bein’ out fwum unnew da blanky be cold. (shivers) Weez got sum pawsum fings comin’ up this mumff as well as ow nowmal day in da life and update posties. Meowllo evewypawdy, hope yous had a gweat week cuz da end is near!!! WooHoo Furiday’s on it’s way. It’s been so cold here this week it can’t be gone soon enuff fur us. Anyways, we didn’t get too much dun yesfurday. Altho’ not fur a lack of twyin’. As most of you know (cuz we complained ‘bout it) wordpwess wecently made sum changes. We usually use da Notification baw to weply to yous comments and click da links of those hoo made comments on meez posties so me can visit you all. So yesfurday just like any udder day we clicked on da Notification baw on meez bloggy. We clicked da link of da commenter and didn’t pay tention cuz we went back to weply to da comment left fur me. Mommy wead da comment to me and Lexi and then typed out ow weply and clicked “Send.” And what happened then? Da circle of doom went wound and wound and wound and never stopped.
Finally mommy clicked on da tab to go and visit ow commenter and…nuffin. Yep dat’s wight, nuffin but da circle of doom. Mommy closed da window and twied weopenin’ it by typin’ in da link herselff, and then went back to ow weply. Still da circle of doom goes wound and wound. So mommy closed ow weply assumin’ it went nowhere and opens da comments on da admin. page. Where lo and behold there be ow comment and it shows it published. We went back and forff wiff commentiin’ and weplyin’ and twyin’ to visit bloggies most of da day to no avail. So ifin yous commented or weplied to one of ow posties or comments and weez not weplied to you, it’s not cuz we didn’t twy. We awe gunna twy it all again today, so hopefully we will be able to visit and comment today. and by da way, ifin yous comment on one of ow posts and we weply, do yous get da weply in yous email?
