Meowllo everypawdy and a happy Blest Sunday. Sure hope yous enjoyed seein’ sissy play yesfurday. Mommy sez hers always luvs to see us hav a good time. Well as you know ow puter’s been duin’ lots of updatin’ and weez been duin’ a  lot of we-installin’ lately so weez not only got behind in Blogville, but we haven’t been on Facebook as much eever. We finally got da chance da udder day to visit wiff ow Facebook furiends and we had a message on sis Lexi’s page. Da message wuz askin’ us to share a posty/page, but da foto wuz horrific. Me had planned to make a winter posty alweady but when mommy saw da foto she knew we had to do it soon. After a lot of leaks fwum mommy’s eyes she closed da message and we didn’t share it. Dat dusn’t mean we won’t share yous pages or udders fur dat matter, but mommy likes to keep ow pages rated G. Mommy almost kuldn’t handle da foto, we fur sure wuldn’t want sum of ow younger followers to see dat.

Yes, we do agwee dat sumtimes and fur sum peeps “shock” and gore is da only fing dat makes them unnewstand. But we know we hav sum very caring and intelligent furiends dat not hav to be shocked and horrified. It’s winter and it’s cold outside. We fink most of you use common sense when it comes to yous pets and da gweat outdoors. But this posty isn’t ‘bout yous furries dat be curled up beside you now and stayin’ warm, it’s ‘bout all those furries dat not hav a home or warmff. It’s ‘bout all da ferals and abandoned furries. Twust me, they wuldn’t hav chosen to be out in this wedder. It wuz a hooman sumwhere along da way dat be wesponsible fur them bein’ outside. And now it be up to da hoomans to help take care of them. It makes us so sad and angwy to fink ‘bout all da furries havin’ to live outside, specially in sum aweas dat be pawfully cold.

So we fawt dat we wuld share a foo “winter tips” wiff you to make it better fur all. Purrlease member to knock on da hood of yous car afur you get in and turn it on. Kitties awe out there lookin’ fur warmff anywhere they can find it. Da foto we won’t be showin’ you all wuz da wesult of a kitty sleepin’ in da engine awea of a car dat wusn’t checked first. Ifin you hav ferals or abandoned animals in yous awea, purrlease help them ifin you can. Check and see ifin there’s a TNR purrogwam in yous awea and if so, contact them fur assistance. Fwesh dwinkin’ water and a bowl of food wuld be weally pureciated as prey gets even more scarce in da winter, and huntin’ becomes hawder. And each winter is da first one sum kitties be spendin’ out there.

There awe sevewal options fur purrvidin’ a warm shelter fur them to escape da elements. They can even be made fwum every cats favowit, a box. Tape it up and make a entwy a foo inches fwum da bottom and cover it wiff a heavy duty plastic twash bag. Tape dat up also and add straw or shwedded newspaper fur warmff and insulation. There awe so many udder options and even sum you can buy pwe made. Yous can add heat wiff wiff heatin’ pads, etc.. Be sure to keep them cleaned out and use fwesh beddin’ offen. Ifin at all pawssible place da shelter in an awea where it be purrtected fwum da elements but also away fwum twaffic so dat a skeered feral will use it. Be careful wiff da antifweeze too as it be toxic. These awe just a foo fings dat will help da outside kitties and yous winter go a little smoother.

We awe so glad we hav a furever home and a mommy hoo luvs us very much. A warm place to lay ow heads and full plates to fill ow bellies. And all of ow wunnewful furiends. Fank you all. We awe twuly blest.

WooHoo A Chewy Review

Meowllo everypawdy.  We awe anudder day closer to a new year.  We left off yesfurday walkin’ down memowy lane, wiff us stawtin’ to blog.  In da beginnin’ we didn’t hav very many peeps comment.  Lots of ow Facebook furiends followed us as well as furiends fwum dat udder cat site we told you ’bout, but nun of them commented much.  As fur us, member we told you dat mommy not be very smawt when it came to puters?  Well, we followed Timmy’s blog and sum udders, but had no idea how to comment.  MOL  We wuld type a comment and sumtimes weally long ones, and then hit publish and it wuld ask fur ow i.d.. We had no idea what dat wuz.  And then one day it wuz like da light bulb went off.  We literally did a happy kitty dance da day we figgered it out.  We wuz so excited, cuz dat meant we kuld comment on more of da blogs we had begun to follow.  And in turn you all got to know us and know we wuz here.  And lots of you came by and most of you stayed and continue to come by today.  And fur dat…Fank you. We can’t tell you how much it means to us to see yous every day.  Since beginnin’ this cwazy social media ride weez been innewviewed by Pet Radio, da Feline Funny Farmers and Basil da Bionic Cat.  Weez been featured on Rascal and Rocco’s Pet Parade Blog hop.  And mommy did an innewview as well.  We hav joined blog hops and clubs and held events all ow own.  And weez been blest wiff awards and more furiends than we can count.  And we awe so purroud and gwatefull to be a pawt of sumfin’ so wunnewful as da pet blogosphere.  We hav peeps furiends, kitty furiends, doggy furiends, rabbit furiends, piggy furiends and so many more.  And weez just 2 little ole Service kitties fwum da sticks of Oklahoma.  Wow awe we ever BLEST!!!  And now weez be one of Chewy.com‘s newest pet weview bloggers.  And guess what?  Today we hav ow first weal weview fur ya’.    

Boy wuz we surpwised when we wuz given da oppurrtunity to twy those Wellness Divine Duos.  We had been wantin’ to giv those a twy so when they got here, we kuldn’t wait till dinner time.  We had da pleasure of weceivin’  Talapia Pate and Diced Ahi Tuna.  As you know mommy dusn’t giv us much fish so this wuz weally gunna be a tweat.  There awe 5 udder flavors to choose fwum.  Beef pate wiff  chicken liver, Chicken pate wiff diced turkey, Chicken and diced duck, Tuna pate and diced salmon and Chicken pate and diced salmon.  Gotta tell ya’ ifin weez hav da chance we wuld luv to twy them all.  So anyways, dinner finally came and mommy pulled back da foil topper and poured it into ow plates.  It looked delightfully yummy.   And it smelled good too.  Not too fishy, like sum of those cheap canned noms,  Mommy fixed sis Lexi’s plate and then went to bwing me mine.  Back to da dinin’ room to get sum fotos.  And sis Lexi waz so enfwalled by da meal she wuldn’t even look up long nuff fur mommy to ketch a foto.  And then back to me, and me had alweady almost cleaned meez plate.  So we fur sure give these a Divine duo of 8 paws up.

Tinsel, Mistletoe and a Pine, Oh My

It’s finally Furiday again. Hope you all had a great week. We have a furiend who is retiring and today is her last day. We would like to say, Happy retirement awnty Ann, now you have all the time in the world to look after your kitties. Now ifin you’re scratching your head and thinking something’s different, then you would be right. Me is using human speak today. What does that usualy mean? An educational posty. And you would be right. Earlier in the month we wrote a posty ‘bout the human foods that are toxic to cats, and promised a post on plants. well with the holidays that are fast approaching us, we thought we better get that post out, cause no doubt lots of you just might be bringing death thru the front door.

So in todays post we’re going to cover some of the plants that are dangerous for your furry family members. Please note this is not in any way a complete list and if you think your kitty has eaten a plant he/she shouldn’t have, go to the VET ASAP as it could mean the difference between life and death. As we researched this subject so that we could give you the best information we realized that if we were to include every plant that is toxic we would have a post that no one would read because of the length. So we decided to list the seasons plants and provide you with a few links so that you could check any plants you were wondering about yourself. So let’s get started.

At this time of year so many homes are setting the mood by bringing in seasonal plants. Hollies, Amaryllis, Tulips and Poinsettias are among the more popular plants to adorn tables and fireplace mantles. However one bite of any of these plants could cause a major upset to your cat. Causing, vomiting, diarrhea and gas. And while no one of those alone will cause death, there are issues secondary to these symptoms that could lead to death. Dehydration is the biggest threat here. Most cats don’t drink enough as it is.

The next group damages a cats organs such as the Kidneys,heart, liver, etc.. The beloved Lily is in this group. All parts of the lily are toxic and you should seek medical attention right away. We all know that if a cats organs get damaged they are at an increased risk of having other problems or dying.

In the last group we find Mistletoe. It looks so unassuming hanging over doorways enticing people to give a little kiss. But the plants in this group cause certain death.  You can find photos of those plants that are toxic to cats here. And you can find a printable list here. The first site also includes plants that are toxic to all household pets.

Now to the biggest “plant” in your house at Christmas, the tree. Most of you worry about the tree being pulled over, knocked down, and climbed. And yes, all those are possibilities with cats. But there is a greater risk to the health of your furry family member from drinking the water your live tree is standing in. Please cover the tree base/stand so that your cat can’t drink the water. There are all kinds of dangerous deadly toxins in the water. And don’t forget the tinsel and dangly decorations. Tinsel can cause a serious blockage and the dangly decorations usually made so thinly that they will shatter with the least amount of pressure can cut or puncture the intestinal tract if swallowed and cause death. Or at the very least some very expensive damage to your cats insides.  Remember to use a little caution and common sense when planning your holiday festivities and it will be lots of fun for you and your furry family members. And always remember if you suspect your cat has been poisoned got to the VET. Don’t wait and see, a cat’s system can crash in a matter of minutes and cause irreparable damage. Now let’s get ready for Thanksgiving which is only one week away.
