Baubles, Knick Knacks and Toys

Meowllo everypawdy, it’s already Wednesday. Y, Just da other day somepawdy was talkin’ ‘bout Christmas decorations. Dat could be very interestin’ ‘round here this year. Mommy’s never had a kitty play with da tree or da baubles on da tree. But she has a feelin’ Raena just might be dat kitty. Let me tell ya’ da girl’s into everything.

       Sissy? What’s a tree bauble? 

 

 

Well Raena, they’re balls, or other purretty glass knick knacks dat hang from da branches of a Christmas tree.

       A whole tree of danglin’ toys? Really? I’s can’t wait till Christmas Dezi. (continues her morning bath while thinking about tree baubles)

 

 

No Raena, they’re not toys any more than mommy’s other knick knacks are toys. 

 

 

       Well ifin they’re not toys, then what’s da point of ‘em danglin’ there and temptin’ us?

Me doesn’t know Raena, we’ll have to ask mommy ‘bout dat. Me just knows dat we’re not ‘posed to play with them. Anyways, we’ve gotta wrap it up. It’s almost time fur da inspection. Da exterminator’s also ‘posed to be here and mommy doesn’t want us anywhere near da kitchen till she can clean up da mess he leaves behind. Mommy said it’s a good thing we don’t have bugs and dat she sprays fur herself cuz da exterminators soakin’ of da walls, fridge, oven, cabinet doors and middle of da floor doesn’t kill anythin’ but us and mommy. And while we may like water, there’s nuffin’ worse than bein’ snatched up and thrown into a bath cuz you happened to walk thru all dat poison. Mommys’ arms are wavin’ ’round in da air and she’s hollerin’ “danger danger, poison, poison,” and purrayin’ we didn’t get it in our mouth or dat it hasn’t soaked into our skin. Me knows all ‘bout dat from furst hand experience. We hope you all have a pawsum day.

Spa Day, Spay Day, Raena’s Growing Up

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me RaenaBelle. It’s so ugly and dark here today. We had some really loud thunder boomers last night. But I’s kept sis Dezi busy playin’ so she wouldn’t notice. Wasn’t dat nice of me?

       Playin’? Is dat what you call jumpin’ on me from da top of da chair, da tree, da scratchin’ post, and anywhere else you could find to jump off of from?

 

 

Sure sissy, wasn’t it fun? 

 

 

       Uh…Did me’s hisses and growls sound like it was fun Raena?

Hisses? Growls? Hmmmmm I’s didn’t hear any of dat sissy. I’s just thought it was da thunder.

       (Dezi shakes her head) Well Raena are you gonna get to your question?

Oh yeah, fanks fur remindin’ me sissy. As ya’ know, mines spa day is tomorrow. Mommy goes to see hers doctor today and then I’s goin’ fur a spay, whatever dat is, tomorrow. Mommy says this is completely routine and dat most all mines furiends have been thru it, but as always there are risks. So, I’s would fur sure purreciate your purrayers dat all goes well and I’s back to bein’ me in no time. Mommy will be stayin’ right by mines side da whole time, and she plans on takin’ fotos, ifin allowed. She used to volunteer with this clinic but doesn’t ‘member their pawlicies. She does ‘member a lot of da folks don’t want their fotos posted, so she might have to do a lot of blurrin’.  Anyways, we’ll keep ya’ll posted. We won’t be ‘round a lot this weekend, cuz of these things, but mommy did purromise to try to post at least an update after da deed on facebook. We of course will be here fur our regular Blest Sunday to tell you all ‘bout it.        Besides, it also means extra good treats. Anyways, we’ve gotta go so mommy can get ready fur hers ‘pointment. She could use some purrayers too. Da State mandated dat mommy and her doctor don’t know what’s bestest fur her and it’s been a really tough month fur mommy. So we’re purrayin’ somethin’ can be done to help her today. Anyways, we’re joinin’ Rascal and Rocco and their pawsum co-hosts fur da weekly Pet Parade. Check it out. We’re purrayin’ fur all our furiends, ‘specially those in da path of da storms. What’s Up Wednesday

Meowllo everypawdy, wha’cha’ doin’? It’s been cloudy and overcast here everyday, so we’ve been doin’ a bunch of nuffin’. Well at least we’ve been tryin’ to. Raena’s been a little pistol all week, but dat’s getting’ to be normal fur us.

       A pistol? I’s not a pistol sissy. I’s a purretty kitty girly, mommy says so.

Yes Raena dat she does. But she also says you’re a pistol. And fur all our furiends across da pond dat don’t know what dat means, well, it means she’s full of energy and a offen acts without thinkin’. And well, dat’s you to a tee Raena.

       Well sissy I’s not wanna miss anythin’. You know, I’s gotta be everywhere all da time just in case somethin’ happens.

Ya’ know what Raena? Not so long ago, me thought dat way too. Know what else? Not too much happens ‘round here, and ifin somethin’ excitin’ does…mommy’s gonna make sure you know ‘bout it. On another note, da a/c repairman showed up Monday and took care of our leaky purroblem and even cleaned up after himself. Yep, he swept da floor and everythin’. Have you ever heard of such? Let me tell ya’ in all da years me’s been ‘round me’s not seen it. Me has seen workers come in and leave a mess fur mommy to clean up tho’. Mommy says she thinks he was so nice cuz Raena was bein’ a shameful flirt. Yep, she sure was.

Oh Raena…(shakes head) Da man was here to work and you kept runnin’ over and stealin’ his tools and meowin’ at him. When he picked up da new pvc pipe you acted like it was some wand toy or somethin’.

       Well he didn’t seem to mind playin’ with me now did he sissy?

No Raena, he didn’t. He was very nice considerin’ it took twice as long to get da job done and get outta here than ifin you’d just laid down on da tree and watched liked mommy had told ya’ too.

       What fun would dat have been sissy? Anyways, mommy purromissed to play fly fishin’ with us later today. I just luv to play. I’s better ketch a quick nap so I’s’ll be all rested up fur our game later. You better get a nap too ifin ya’ plan on keepin’ up with me.

Oh Raena, you just wait. Me’s been goin’ easy on ya’ since you’re just a kitten. But me’s been thinkin’ it just might be time to turn loose and give you a run fur your money. 

       Money? I’s don’t have any money sissy.

       Mines stick of da vine? Well… uh… How ‘bout we both just take a nap and have fun when mommy gets da toys out.

Dat’s what me thought sissy. Well, we hope everypawdy has a great day. We’re gonna take a nap now and dream of playin’. We’re sendin’ purrayers fur all our furiends in da paths of da storms. Purrlease be safe.

I’m Not Selfish, Mommy’s Being Mean

Hey? Is anypawdy out there? It’s me RaenaBelle. I’s got somethin’ to tell ya’. Mommy’s bein’ mean to us!!! Can you believe it?

But it’s true sissy. I saw it with mines own eyes, I did. You might’a been sleepin’ but I was right there.

 

 

       Yeah Raena, me’s sure you were. Mommy purrays all day everyday and asks God to purrtect you from yourself and keep ya’ from getting’ hurt or breakin’ somethin’. So me has no doubt you were “right” there. So just what did you see?

Sissy, I saw bunches of toys. I mean enuff to start our own toy store. All of ‘em fur us from da give away we won over at Three Chatty Cats. You know da one, da Honest Pet Products, where everythin’ is made from all natural stuffs. There’s all different kinds of toys even. And they smelled divine. Mommy layed ‘em all out and even got da flashy box after ‘em.

Ya’ did? Well I’s wasn’t sure, cuz you didn’t say anythin’ when all mommy gave us was one niptastic catty pillar. And she put everythin’ else away.

       Yeah me saw her Raena. And me heard her say dat she was gonna save some of those toys fur mes birthday, your spa day and maybe even Christmas. Mommy knows we’ll furget we even saw ‘em by then and dat we’ll be happy kitties when she brings one out.

But I’s wanted ‘em all right then.

       Yeah, me’s sure you did Raena. But dat’s very selfish. And besides, just how many toys can you actually play with at one time?

Well sissy, don’t you ‘member mines furst night here? I had never seen toys. And… (Raenas’ eyes get big remembering what she saw when placed on the floor)  MeOWWWwwwww I was runnin’ from one toy to another. So I can play with lots of toys at one time.

       Yeah Raena, me ‘members your furst night, and me ‘members you runnin’ in circles. It was really cute, and mommy and even me were happy dat you were havin’ a good time. Mommy even got a video of ya’. Ifin anypawdy missed it or ya’ just need a smile and a little chuckle, you can watch it here. But, there comes a time when you have to learn not to be selfish anymore and dat time is now. Don’t worry, mommy’ll give us da rest of those toys, just not today. Now, go play with your catty pillar. We were really blest and each got one of our own. And fur anypawdy wonderin’ ‘bout our a/c leak and da repairs of such, we have an update. Mommy did call da manager to demand a time fur da repairs. And da manager told mommy da maintenance man would be here Wednesday.

Yeah, but he wasn’t da one who showed up on Wednesday was he sissy?

       (Dezi shakes head and rolls her eyes) No Raena, he wasn’t. Da manager showed up on Wednesday to tell mommy dat da rent was goin’ up again in October. We say again, cuz our rent just went up when we renewed our lease. She wanted mommy to initial da changes on our lease. Mommy reminded her dat we never got any notice of this increase, and this certainly isn’t 30 days notice. Then she purrceeded to tell mommy dat a a/c repairman would be here on Monday to fix da a/c. And she said, “It’s going to be messy.” Well duh!!! Did she want mommy to say furget ‘bout it then? Like leakin’ pipes and moldy carpet, floors and stuff ain’t messy. Yes, da woman’s an idiot. She has to be, right? Well at least da repairman should be qualified. MOL  Anyways, me needs to tell ya’ dat we’s joinin’ Rascal and Rocco and their pawsum co-hosts fur da Pet Parade. We hope you all have a pawsum weekend.
