Blest Sunday: The Day Before Christmas

MeOW Hey Raena, hurry up. It’s Blest Sunday. Even better, it’s Christmas Eve. We’ve got lots to be fankful fur and lots to do to get ready fur tomorrow.

I’s comin’ sissy. I’s was helpin’ mommy with our Christmas carols. She says she’s gonna try to make a slideshow fur our video since we don’t have the fancy equipment needed to make a real video. And, I’s saw turkey tom lurkey move from the freezer to fridge. I’s so x’cited, I’s can’t hardly wait. I’s just luvs Christmas time!!!

Me too Raena, me too. We wanna say a meowsy big fank you to everypawdy/kitty/doggy that sent us cards and gifts. Fanks to those who sent mommy foods fur Christmas and thru out this past year. Fank you to those who sent gift cards and paypal greenies. We have so many angels. We fank you all fur bein’ our furiends. Two little kitty girls and their disabled mommy are blest beyond measure, we’re filthy rich with luv.

And fanky fanks to all who helped with mommy’s teethies purroblems this past year. She feels sooooooo much better. And come February, she’s gonna have a whole new smile. Hey sissy, did you know mommy wrote a poem fur today?

Yep, me did Raena. Let’s post it and get outta here and help mommy finish our video. Furst, we’d like to remind you all to take a minute today and every day to give thanks fur the blessings in your lives.

The Day Before Christmas

It was the day before Christmas,

in our little house.

Sweet Dezi lay nappin’,

while Raena played with last year’s nip mouse.

Their stockings were hung

on the hutch way up high,

so they couldn’t reach them,

not even with their best try.

Clothes in the washer

a full dryer too.

Like any other day,

there’s lots of work left to do.

Turkey tom lurkey’s

thawin’ in the fridge

thanks to LouLou,

our friend who speaks French.

We’re singin’ Christmas carols

‘round the fake fire,

wonderin’ if sweet Raena

will ever get tired.

The forecast is great

for those of us who don’t like snow.

The sun will be shining

even tho’ it’ll be cold.

I sip one last cup of coffee

as night draws near,

looking at photos

reminiscing over the past year.

I carry the girls

to bed to tuck in.

We say our prayers

and include all our friends.

It’s Christmas,

the happiest time of the year.

There’s just a few more hours left

of holiday cheer.

I look at my girls

sleeping next to me,

How blest I am

How blest are we.

I silently pray

peace and goodwill to all.

And whisper Merry Christmas,

Merry Christmas to ya’ll.

Blest Sunday: Saying Prayers

Hurry Raena, we’ve gotta write our Blest Sunday posty. Mommy has to go.

I’s not like it, sissy, I’s not like it one bit. Just how does she think she’s gonna manage without us?

Me doesn’t know, Raena. She’s never done this befur. Least not in me’s life time. Me ‘members sis Lexi used to meow ‘bout it, but that was a long time ago. All me knows is that mommy said she needed to try to do this. She never wants us to be in a pawsition to run outta noms ever again. And she wants to be able to take you to the V E T to find out what’s wrong with your eyes without havin’ to worry ‘bout what it’s gonna cost or ifin she’s gonna be able to affurd it. She said it isn’t like it’s furever, it’s just a few weeks.

A few? I’s thought she said 6 weeks?!! Doesn’t matter, I’s just don’t like it.

Well Raena, me’s not to happy ‘bout it either, but mommy always knows what’s bestest. She says she needs to at least try, so me thinks we should be suppurrtive. After all, standin’ in a cold barn fur 6 hours pickin’ the yucks outta pecans that she happens to be ‘lergic to, on a conveyor belt doesn’t sound like somethin’ mommy would do fur fun. It’s not like she’s goin’ out to that farm to play with the cows and horses.

I’s guess you’re right sissy. We better be on our bestest behavior and say lots of extra purrayers fur mommy. Meowin’ of purrayers, we’ve been sayin’ extras fur all our furiends lately. We know this time of year can really be hard on some, and we’ve been askin’ God to be sure and let everypawdy know how much they are luvved and that we’re here fur ‘em. The song below actually happens here more than ya’ might think, so we thought we’d share it with ya’. At least one of ya’ needed to hear this today.

We have at that Raena. You know we thought it was gonna be a purretty bare Christmas this year. And then, outta nowhere, we received some purretty amazin’ blessings. Awnty Cindy and her brofur uncle Marshall and the kitties sent mommy, and us of course, a nice big roast and butter fur butter spoons, and, cheese and hawaiin bread, mommy’s coffee, those chocolaty chippy brownies and even a gift fur mommy. Fank ya’ll so very much. We can’t wait fur mommy to cook up that tasty roast.

And, the very next day sissy, we got a box from that yummy Pittman Davis company that has those tasty turkey tom lurkeys. fanky fanks to LouLou, awnty Suzanne and uncle Don, we’re havin’ smoked turkey fur Christmas.

Can we cook him now mommy?

(Dezi licks lips) And fur days after too Raena. Me can’t hardly wait. Me can still ‘member the one they sent us last year. Mmmmmmmm We are so very blest.

Yep sissy, mommy spent most of the week cryin’ those happy tears.

Yeah Raena, that’s our mommy. She’s a very emotional peep. That’s okay, we’re purretty emotional too. We wanna remind everypawdy to take a minute today and every day to give thanks fur the Blessings in your life. There’s still time to hop on the Blessing Train fur our 12 Days of Blessings. Altho’ we’re not so sure it’s a blessing yet, we’re fankin’ God fur the oppurrtinutiy mommy got to make a few dollars. So, our blessing today is Opportunity. Mommy says, when oppurrtunity knocks, ya’ gotta answer.

Hopefully, she’ll be able to help us some when she gets home. She’s leavin’ us here cuz she says it’s not fair to make us sit out in the cold all day when there’ll be so many peeps ‘round that could help her ifin she needs it. Hmmmpht They can’t alert, I’s say.

Blest Sunday: Blessing Train: 12 Days of Blessings Day 5

(Some time in the morning when Dezi, Raena and mommy A are laying in bed……Asleep?) Hey, Raena, are you awake? Raena? RaenaBelle!!!

(Raena stretches out a paw toward Dezi and yawns) What sissy? Did I’s miss somethin’?

Me’s thinkin’ it’s time to get up. Me’s gettin’ hungry.

I’s don’t wanna get up sissy. It’s too cold. I’s wanna stay right here snuggled up to mommy. (mommy starts moving her head and tells the girls she needs to get up) No mommy, let’s sleep just a little longer.

(Dezi and Raena lay still a few minutes and then Dezi gets up and starts massaging mommy’s tummy. Raena knowing that will cause mommy to need to get up paws at Dezi) Stop hittin’ me Raena! Me wants to get up. It’s time fur Blest Sunday and church. Help me get mommy up. Ifin she doesn’t get up, she’ll never turn on the heat. And let me tell ya’, nopawdy’s house should be below 50°. Me knows mommy wouldn’t have let it happen to our house ifin she’d known it was gonna get so cold.

(Raena paws at Dezi once more and then moves in to position to massage mommy and help her get off the bed) Okay sissy, let’s get up. I’s am feelin’ a bit hungry mine’s self. I’s could go fur a nice plate of rabbit and duck and maybe a nice warm nip tea. We are so Blest to have such yummy noms. And a nice warm toasty place to sleep. With all the colds everywhere I’s sure do worry ‘bout all the kitties livin’ outside.

Me too Raena. Me’s so happy that we’ve been goin’ out a few times a week lookin’ fur feral and stray kitties to feed. We actually found one the other night. Just in case there was more, mommy left purrlenty of food to feed several kitties. We couldn’t tell ifin the kitty we saw was a girly or a boy cuz it wouldn’t come close enuff and it was so dark and cold. But, we said a purrayer and asked God to take care of her/him and we’ll go back to leave some more food soon.

I’s glad we’re doin’ that too sissy. I’s wanna go with mommy the next time. Maybe the kitty just needs a furiend to show her/him that mommy’s not gonna hurt ’em. Altho’ she does look kind’a scary ifin ya’ don’t know her. Havin’ lost her coat, she gets all bundled up in a couple of shirts and pairs of pants to go out. She looks kind’a like a crazy woman. MOL

That’s okay Raena, she’s our crazy mommy and we luv her. Hey, did you see that Annie and Pierrot hopped on the Blessin’ Train?

I’s did sissy. I’s was so happy. And did you see the package we got the other day? Mommy says it’s a Christmas purresent from awnty Belinda. She won’t let us have it till Christmas, but we sure do fanky fank ya’ awnty Belinda. Mommy says she knows we’re gonna luvs it.

Yep Raena, me can’t hardly wait. We got mews ‘bout our visitin’ the nursin’ home this past week. Seems we’re not gonna be allowed to go anymore. They’re only allowin’ church groups from their town unless you’re a family member. Mommy said she’d look ‘round to see ifin there was any place else we could go to, but it looks like we’ll be carolin’ at home this year.

I’s gonna miss all the attention we got from all thoe residents sissy. But I’s glad we still carol here. I’s luvs Christmas songs and singin’ ‘bout Jesus.

Me too Raena, me too. I’s think that should be our Blessin’ this week fur the Blessing Train. Altho’ Jesus wasn’t actually born on Christmas day, me’s pawfully glad He was born. Me just luvs hearin’ the Christmas story of Jesus’ birth.

Blest Sunday: Hop Aboard the Blessing Train

MeOW Raena, quit sightseein’ and c’mon. It’s time fur Blest Sunday.

Well sissy, with all the cleanin’ mommy’s been doin’, there’s lots of stuffs to see. Why do ya’ reckon mommy’s doin’ all this?

Me thinks it has somethin’ to do with the box she got fur her review. She says the jury’s still out. Me’s not sure what that means, but me thinks we’re in fur more cleanin’. MOL

I’s think you’re right sissy. I’s hope she takes a few breaks and takes us fur some strolls. The sun’s been shinin’ really bright, and mommy says he’s s’posed to be here fur a few more days. I’s so luvs goin’ fur strolls with mommy.

Me does too Raena. We’re so blest to have a mommy who luvs us so much. Ya’ know Raena, me’s been thinkin’ a lot ‘bout what we could do to make this Christmas season special. A lot of our furiends are doin’ stuffs with these advent calendars, and others are sharin’ their traditions. We don’t know anythin’ ‘bout those advent thingys, and we don’t keep a lot of the traditional traditions. So, me thought we could do a 12 Days of Blessings. Anypawdy who knows us, knows we’re all ‘bout the blessings.

That’s true sissy. We’ll find the blessin’ in the middle of the storm. I’s think 12 Days of Blessings is a great idea. Ifin we start today and post a Blessing with each post, we’ll finish up on December 22nd. Just in time fur the Christmas holiday festivities. The only purroblem I’s can see with this, is only listin’ one blessin’. Bein’ such blest kitties, how are we gonna decide which blessin’ to list?

Well Raena, we don’t have to limit it to one blessing. After all, it’s our idea, so we can make or break the rules. Maybe all of our furiends will hop on the Blessin’ Train and post their 12 Days of Blessings too. We’re not startin’ a regular blog hop, but we think everypawdy would enjoy stoppin’ fur just a minute durin’ this busy time and seein’ a Blessing every day.

The Blessing Train is headin’ your way. Grab him and a
