Blest Sunday: The Day Before Christmas

MeOW Hey Raena, hurry up. It’s Blest Sunday. Even better, it’s Christmas Eve. We’ve got lots to be fankful fur and lots to do to get ready fur tomorrow.

          I’s comin’ sissy. I’s was helpin’ mommy with our Christmas carols. She says she’s gonna try to make a slideshow fur our video since we don’t have the fancy equipment needed to make a real video. And, I’s saw turkey tom lurkey move from the freezer to fridge. I’s so x’cited, I’s can’t hardly wait. I’s just luvs Christmas time!!!

Me too Raena, me too. We wanna say a meowsy big fank you to everypawdy/kitty/doggy that sent us cards and gifts. Fanks to those who sent mommy foods fur Christmas and thru out this past year. Fank you to those who sent gift cards and paypal greenies. We have so many angels. We fank you all fur bein’ our furiends. Two little kitty girls and their disabled mommy are blest beyond measure, we’re filthy rich with luv.

          And fanky fanks to all who helped with mommy’s teethies purroblems this past year. She feels sooooooo much better. And come February, she’s gonna have a whole new smile. Hey sissy, did you know mommy wrote a poem fur today?

Yep, me did Raena. Let’s post it and get outta here and help mommy finish our video. Furst, we’d like to remind you all to take a minute today and every day to give thanks fur the blessings in your lives.

The Day Before Christmas

 

It was the day before Christmas,

in our little house.

Sweet Dezi lay nappin’,

while Raena played with last year’s nip mouse.

Their stockings were hung

on the hutch way up high,

so they couldn’t reach them,

not even with their best try.

Clothes in the washer

a full dryer too.

Like any other day,

there’s lots of work left to do.

Turkey tom lurkey’s

thawin’ in the fridge

thanks to LouLou,

our friend who speaks French.

We’re singin’ Christmas carols

‘round the fake fire,

wonderin’ if sweet Raena

will ever get tired.

The forecast is great

for those of us who don’t like snow.

The sun will be shining

even tho’ it’ll be cold.

I sip one last cup of coffee

as night draws near,

looking at photos

reminiscing over the past year.

I carry the girls

to bed to tuck in.

We say our prayers

and include all our friends.

It’s Christmas,

the happiest time of the year.

There’s just a few more hours left

of holiday cheer.

I look at my girls

sleeping next to me,

How blest I am

How blest are we.

I silently pray

peace and goodwill to all.

And whisper Merry Christmas,

Merry Christmas to ya’ll.

Blest Sunday: My Life Wouldn’t Be the Same

Welcome to a very special Blest Sunday. As ya’ll know, we luv blest Sunday’s, but today is even more special. Today, is Mother’s day. We know this day is all ‘bout women who have 2 legged children. But what ‘bout those women who fur whatever reason don’t have 2 legged children? Or those who gave their luv to a child who didn’t have any? And those like mommy, who only have furry four legged kids? Well, we say ifin you’ve ever luvved and nurtured a young’un, be it furred or non furred, you’re a mother.

You’ve no doubt gone without at one time or another to make things better fur that young’un. You’ve laffed whether they were funny or not, and cried when they were hurt. You felt purride in their accomplishments and joy in their happiness. And gave fanks at the end of each day that they were close to you.

 

          That’s right sissy. We salute all mother’s today and every day fur your unconditional luvs. We fanky fank you fur puttin’ us young’un’s befur yourself, and fur givin’ us the most pawsumest life. 

 

Yep Raena, you got that right. We wrote a little poem fur all the mother’s of furries every where. We realize that not all furry children can do the things we do but we know they luv their mommies just as much as we luv ours. We’ll be givin’ mommy lots of extra luv and massages today. But befur we get started we wanted to wish you all the most Blest and Happy Mother’s Day ever!

 

My Life Wouldn’t Be The Same

Without you, my life wouldn’t be the same.

Maybe you found me, looking starved and scroungy on the streets.

Maybe you found me hiding in a cage

At some shelter, that took me in.

Maybe you found me online

Being fostered by a caring human.

No matter how you found me…

You Did!!!

My life changed that day,

And so did yours.

I’m so happy you chose me.

Out of all the kitties in the world

You looked at me

And saw my inner beauty.

You saw passed my sad eyes,

My dingy fur and even my fear.

Now, I wait to hear your voice calling my name,

To feel your gentle caress on my clean shiny furs.

I watch for you from the window sill when you’re away

I wait patiently for your lap when you sit down.

My purr says I Love You

My meow says I need you

Without you, my life wouldn’t be the same.

Fanks Raena, there’s all kinds of pawsum kitty stories by some amazin’ writers at the Daily Mews. So be sure and hit that subscribe button while you’re there. Your emails will never be sold and ya’ won’t get tons of spammy emails. But you will be able to get a monthly heads up ‘bout some great kitty stories. Y, At this very moment, there’s quite a few kitties tryin’ to help their humans shed a few of those extra pounds. Nope, we’re not in that group, but there’s been some great articles from those who are. We also wanna fank all our furiends fur bein’ a pawrt of our lives.

          Oh sissy, we are such Blest kitty girls. Our lives fur sure wouldn’t be the same without mommy and all our furtabulous furiends. ‘Member to take a minute today and every day to give Fanky fanks fur the blessings in your life. We’re joinin’ the Kitties Blue fur a special Mother’s Day Sunday Selfies. Mommy had plans to take some selfies with us fur today. She hennaed all that gray hair away and put on her made up face and grabbed the camera and then us.

  

OMC  Raena, was that ever a fun exercise. Mommy must’a took a hunnerd fotos. Then, she loaded ‘em into the catputer to see what we had, and… 

 

          Oh sissy, did you see the one of just our ears and mommy’s neck? Mommy may be good at a lot of things, but selfie takin’ ain’t one of ‘em. MOL

You’re right ‘bout that Raena. But it was fun tryin’ to take selfies with mommy. Anytime we can spend bein’ close to mommy is a good time. Let’s wrap this up, and get mommy’s special day started.

RaenaBelle, it’s your turn fur some lap luvvin’ time with mommy.

          It’s ‘bout time. But why is she so sad sissy? I’s know the weather has made her pains more and her teeths are hurtin’, but those things don’t usually make her be so sad?.

Oh Raena, you know mommy luvs you very much, right?

          Of course, sissy. And I’s luvs mommy verrrrrrrrrrrry much too. I’s so happy that she’s mine’s mommy. I’s try to show her how much I’s luvs her every day.

She knows Raena. She’s sad right now, cuz befur you, me had a big sisfur who mommy luvved very much. They had been together a really long time. And then one day, God called Lexi to heaven. That broke mommy’s heart. Tomorrow will mark 1 year since sis Lexi left us. And tho’ you nor me will ever be Lexi, it’s our job to help ease mommy’s pain from losin’ her.

 

          Should we be doin’ somethin’ special, sissy?

 

Nope Raena, that’s the beauty of luv. All you have to do is be yourself. As much as we luv mommy, she luvs us. And all we need to do is just show mommy we luv her. Maybe some extra purrs and cuddles, but we luv those too.

Dear furiends, ya’ may have noticed we’ve been a little quieter the last few days. Well, mommy’s been a little sad and down and reminiscin’ ‘bout times past. Raena and me have been getting’ a lot of extra luvvin’, and we’ve been returnin’ it in spades. Mommy wrote a poem to sissy the other day, and we thought we’d share it with ya’ll today. Fur those of ya’ that joined us in the last year, you may not ‘member sis Lexi, but she will always live on in our hearts. We do hope that you will pardon our reflection on such an amazin’ soul. Sis Lexi will always be the Gold Standard by which all Service Cats will be measured. Her luv and devotion to mommy, knew no bounds. Mommy says that same luv exists in all of us, and she is so blest to be the recipient of that luv time and again.

Goodnight sweet Lexi

Close your eyes and sleep now

Rest your tired and weary body

I’ll be alright, somehow.

 

I will hold you in my heart,

Where you can never die

You’ve been with me thru it all, it seems

Ups and downs, and all the in betweens.

We held on to each other

We had so many plans, and dreams

 

I never thought this day would come

When you’d leave me all alone

I know you didn’t want to go

With me, you’d found your home

 

But time slows for no one

And this world doesn’t care

Who might need you

To always be near

 

So close your eyes now sweet Lexi

     I love you girls very much too. Raena, you and Dezi are the greatest blessings in my life. I will always miss Lexi, and those that went before. But I will cherish every moment I have with ya’ll.

 

While mommy wrote this poem fur sis Lexi, we know a lot of you have lost luvved ones and feel that despair. We dedicate it to all those who have known that luv and lost it. Purrlease know, you can find that luv again just like mommy has with me and Raena. We’re sending out big hugs to you all.

Dezi’s T’was The Night Before Christmas

Mommy, Mommy!!! It’s almost Christmas!!! Tell us da night befur story. Purrlease???

     The night before Christmas story? Well, okay sweety. Girls come sit down. (Dezi jumps to the arm of the chair and cuddles next to mommy. Raena jumps into mommys lap and lays down).

     T’was the night before Christmas, when all through the house. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

Hmmpht They don’t have Raena in their house. Dat’s not da right story, mommy.

     It’s not? Well darlin’, why don’t you tell us the night before Christmas story?

(Dezi clears her throat and tells the tail tale.)

T’was the night before Christmas, and all through the house

Raena was stirring and running about

Our stockings were hung on the hutch way up high

So we couldn’t reach them in the middle of the night.

 

Dezi checks out the new electric blanket

Our new ‘lectric blanky was calling our names,

Come snuggle, Dezi, Raena, mommy needs you both the same.

We jumped on the bed, for our friends we then prayed,

Including strays and ferals, homes for them, we bade.

 

 

When all of a sudden Raena jumped with kittenish joy,

Zoomies through the house, Was she looking for a toy?

Up the tree, down the tree, she chortled some more

Back to bed, mommy hollered, which she promptly ignored.

Me couldn’t take it, me had to go see

Just what had she found that was causing such glee?

Down the steps and through the house me zoomed

Me ran in and out of every room.

 

 

Where is Raena? Where did she go?

Me chortled and chirped, but she mewed not a word.

Mommy called to me in that sweet loving sleepy voice,

Dezi, come back to bed, and stop making so much noise.

 

 

What? It wasn’t me that was clamoring about,

That was Raena…Before, not now.

Now she’s snuggled by mommy asleep,

Back to bed me goes, our nightly secrets to keep.

 

 

Morning will come soon enough my love,

Mommy said quietly, as she pulled me close for a hug.

Goodnight dear friends, sweet dreams to you all;

Back under the blanky me now must crawl.

 

 

So? What’d ya’ think mommy?

 

 

     Well sweety, I think it’s purrfect. I think you’re purrfect. And Raena, I think you’re purrfect too. Why don’t you girls wrap this up. We have lots to do before tomorrow.

Raena, we all wish our furiends a Merry and Blest Christmas. And we thank all our Angels who have sent us gifts. We’ll be openin’ them tomorrow, but we’ve fur sure been checkin’ out all da boxes. And we thank all of you fur da pawsum Christmas cards. We’ve really enjoyed getting and lookin’ at ‘em all. Gotta go, mommy has fotos to edit, and visits galore.
