(Dezi jumps up on mommy’s lap and Raena follows suit.)
Hey Raena, me was here furst.
I’s want some luvvin’ too sissy.
It’s me’s Blogoversary and me was gettin’ luvvin’ furst.
Wait your turn. Me’s here now and me’s gonna write me’s Blogoversary posty.
Well sissy, mommy says it’s our Blogoversary.
Well it’s got me’s name on it, and besides, you haven’t even been here a year yet. Me’s bloggy is 3 years old. That’s 2 years longer than you’ve even been alive.
I’s gonna tell mommy that you’re bein’ mean to me.
Oh purrlease. Don’t be so whiney. Anyways…A lot of ya’ have heard the story of how we got started, but we do have some new followers that haven’t. So, we thought we’d give ya’ a little history behind Deziz World. We were all new to the world of computers and the internet. Mommy was terrified of the online world, so while taking a class, she set up our Facebook account under sis Lexi and me’s name. Not long after she learned ‘bout Facebook pages and created one fur sis Lexi so we could share the idea of Service Cats with the world. Sissy told a story almost every night back then. It was a lot of work fur mommy, but we started makin’ some pawsum furiends and found a whole community of cats and their peeps.
Sis Lexi was the only one old enuff to have a Facebook account.
So her name’s furst and her birthday’s on our account.
Soon after, one of those cats, Timmy Tomcat, asked ifin anypawdy would be innerested in guest bloggin’ at Blue’s Lounge. We had no clue what bloggin’ was, but mommy said me could do it since sissy had a Facebook page. Uncle Pete and Timmy, told us to create an account on WordPress that we would use to post from. Mommy bein’ catputer illiterate, created our account and answered each question as bestest she could. Befur we knew it, DezizWorld was created. Mommy was so confused and couldn’t even find Blue’s Lounge. She had no idea she had created our very own bloggy. We wrote to uncle Pete and Timmy and ‘splained what we thought we did, and he said, we now had our own bloggy that we could post on. ‘Member when we said we didn’t know what bloggin’ was? Well, here’s our very furst posty. Yep, we’ve come a long way since then. We wrote a total of 8 postys our furst month. We told the stories of how and when we came to live with mommy.
We didn’t even know how to comment on other blogs back then. We visited quite a few everyday, but had no way of commentin’. And then one day, the light bulb went off in mommy’s head and she figured it out. Of course, Timmy’s bloggy was the furst bloggy we commented on. We became Timmy stalkers really. MOL Now we’re great furiends and feel so blest to have Timmy and his furmily in our lives.
Yep, dat’s Timmy and me dancin’. Me learned a lot ’bout
da virtual world in Cat Scouts.
Oh, me has to tell you a really funny story. Somehow, we had started following Sammy from the then One Spoiled Cat. At that time, he was postin’ ‘bout a “virtual” trip to outer space. ‘Course he never said anythin’ ‘bout it bein’ virtual. And every day we would get these emails ‘bout space ships with photos of kitties on human bodies dressed in space suits. Mommy was all like, “Who would let their beloved kitty go to outer space?” “What cat would even wear those space helmets?” “My cats are Service Cats, I couldn’t live without them that long.” (shakes head) Oh me’s dear sweet mommy. Turns out it was a virtual adventure Sammy was headin’ up fur his fellow Cat Scouts and bloggin’ buddies. And awnty Pam and Sam? They turned out to be great furiends and lots of help when it came to unnerstandin’ this bloggin’ thing. Me’s now taken several of those “virtual” trips meself. Me hasn’t been to outer space, but ya’ never know what the future holds.
Me has ascended da ranks to Sabertooth
I’z in da Tabby Cat Club tu!!Meez in da Tabby Cat Club!!
Me followed Timmy to Cat Scouts, and sis Lexi and me joined The Tabby Cat Club. And all the while we kept meetin’ more and more pawsum peeps and their anipals. We’ve made so many amazin’ furiends and have been blest to overflowin’ by your luv and support. Brian and his furmily were so gracious and sponsored our furst trip to BlogPaws. It was sooooooo amazin’ and we met so many of our pawsum furiends in the flesh and fur. We were innerviewed fur the Mousebreath Magazine by those crazy funny farmers over at Jan’s Funny Farm. We’ve since been featured on a few other blogs and have a few features comin’ up soon. We’ve joined the Chewy.com Influencer group and received and reviewed a lot of pawsum purroducts. And there’s many more reviews in our future.
A lot of you were here when sis Lexi was diagnosed with CKD and mommy went in search of the best way to manage it. And more of you were here when sissy had to leave us fur her final journey to heaven. More of you joined us when me’s new sisfur and Service Cat in Training, RaenaBelle joined us. And still more when we innerduced our Service Cat Monday Series this past year. Deziz World the blog is always growin’ and evolving just like we are. We so hope you all stay with us as we continue to learn and grow. We hope to continue to bring you blessings, smiles, laughter, and a little education along the way. Ifin there’s somethin’ you would like to see, let us know. Ifin it’s within’ our power, we’ll try to do it.
Fank you all fur bein’ here and bein’ our furiends. We never could have ‘magined all the blessings we would receive when we started on this journey 3 years ago. And even tho’ there’s been purrlenty of sad along the way, we wouldn’t change a thing. Blessings abound each and every day. You just have to stop and see them. Sometimes they’re the very things we take fur granted, such as breathing, and the flowers that bloom in spring, and even sometimes those amazin’ furiends. So ‘member to take a minute today and every day to give thanks fur the blessings in your life. And don’t furget to tell your furiends what they mean to ya’ every once in a while. You never know what somepawdy might be goin’ thru and just how much your kind words might mean to them. Fank you fur takin’ this walk down memory lane and little glimpse into the future with us.
Meowllo everypawdy and welcome Furiday. Me knows we’re all happy it’s finally Furiday, right?. Well, it’s also blooper Furiday. Me purrticipated in this once and then me always furgets. Did you know dat fur somethin’ to become a habit you must repeat da action daily fur 3 weeks. Yep sure ‘nuff. 3 weeks and you’re set. Well dat’s what they say anyhow. Anyways, me’s getting’ off track.
This week at Cat Scouts, we had da task of earnin’ a new badge. So me went fur da Olympic Long Jump Badge. Yep, dat sounded like a pawsum badge and one me didn’t have. So me’s all set to go and of course dat meant mommy was in charge of da camera. Well you all know how dat went. Mommys camera skills leave a lot to be desired. MOL You know mommy was late to da digital pawrty. She still had a 35mm camera when we started out on facebook. And then she bought a little $20.00 digital job dat took horrific fotos and broke really fast. So these here digital cameras are way above mommy’s understandin’. MOL You all think me’s getting’ off track again don’t ya’? Surprise, me’s not. Me was tellin’ ‘bout mommy’s experience to ‘splain what happened with me’s blooper foto.
See in da olden days you had to pay fur film to put in dat camera and then ya’ had to pay to get da foto off dat camera. So most fotos were posed. Ya’ didn’t just snap, snap, snap away. And there was no delete or takin’ it back. You paid fur all da fotos, even da bad ones. Anyways, mommy’s still not very good at ketchin’ da action as you can see in me’s long jump foto below. But she tries.
Mommy cut me’s head and tail off while me was long jumpin’.
Me also has da names of da winners fur me’s Catit give away. Fank you all fur enterin’ and ConCats to: Pete Hartley, Mary Marchman, and Shoko and Kali of Canadian Cats. Me sure does mommy. Me hopes it isn’t too hard. We’s sure learnin’ lots of new things at scouts lately.
Ya’ll sure are Dezi. You should be well prepared for hiking and camping.
Well me sure hopes so. Me wouldn’t wanna let me’s patrol down. So with dat sed, me has to run now and meet up with me’s patrol to hike into da campsite and get all set up. It’s gonna be a crazy busy weekend, specially with da storms. Me’s joinin’ up with Rascal and Rocco fur da weekly Pet Parade Blog Hop. And ifin you’re lookin’ fur lots of virtual adventure and fun with other cats why not join Cat Scouts today? Me hopes yous havin’ great spring weather and lots of sun puddles wherever you are. Me will see you all soon.
Happy Caturday. Well we went AWOL this past week cuz mommy had to hunker down and help me make a cool ride fur da Cardwood Derby at Cat Scouts. She got a 1 week reprieve last week, but didn’t figger dat was gunna happen again. She also got a little sick, so it was purretty slow goin’. Anyways, by da time we went MIA mommy had already destroyed 3 boxes and was tryin’ to find more. Mommy tried followin’ da written instructions, da picture instructions and da pics in her head. But she readily admits she isn’t da crafty kind. She is in awe of those dat are, but dat just isn’t her talent. Mommy be da artist part of da arts and crafts. She paints and draws and sings and plays instruments and writes of course; but give her craft paper, glue and scissors and she breaks out in hives. When she was yunger, like when dinosaurs walked da earth, she even messed up da linky circles kids made fur Christmas trees.
So after box 4 was all cut up and didn’t resemble anythin’ but a cut up box, she threw her hands in da air and sed, “Dezi my dear, there are just some things your mommy can’t do, and I’m afraid this is one of them. I’m sorry sweety.” And she sat down and started coughin’. (member she had gotten sick) Me jumped up in mommy’s lap and meowed and patted her face wiff meez paw. Me was tellin’ her dat she was meez mommy and there wasn’t anythin’ she kuldn’t do. And durin’ her coughin’ spell a light went off in her head and she decided to try to draw a car fur herself. So once she quit coughin’ she grabbed up her sketch book and pencils and started drawin’. Me laid on da arm of da chair watchin’ mommy make magic wiff a pencil and she looked over at me and sed, “Y Baby, you’re a little Southern Belle, you need a pick’em up truck.” Meez moniker at Cat Scouts is Dezi La Belle. Anyways, mommy took da pencil to da sketch pad once more and drew up a truck. Voila, Dezi’s Motors was born.
We had a few more boxes, but this was da last of them, so she had to get it right da furst time cuz we only had 1 really nice sized box dat me wuld fit in. And to enter da Derby, me must sit in meez vehicle. So once more da measurin’ tape came out and da liquid pencil marked da areas fur cuts. Me hopped on da cat tree to watch from a safe distance as mommy can be quite dangerous wiff cut cardboard pieces and and a box cutter. A cut here, a fold there and a piece of Duck tape later and meez pick up truck began to take shape. Me kuld see hers vision now and it was purretty cool. She was workin’ hard and fast and started sweatin’ up a storm. Mommy decided it was time fur a break and so me looked over da unfinished truck and headed to da back to take a nap wiff sis Lexi. It wasn’t long afur me heard da sound of cuttin’ on da cardboard and duck tape bein’ applied. Suddenly mommy appeared in da doorway of da bedroom and sed, “Come see your truck angel. We need to take your picture so we can get you entered.” Meez respawnse, A half opened eye and a yawn dat sed, yeah, not right now mommy.
Me finks me can squeeze fru here.
After all dat work, mommy wasn’t takin’ no fur an answer. She came in and picked me up and carried me to meez awaitin’ 1/2 ton chariot. She put me in meez truck and inserted da last piece of box dat separated da cab from da bed. Well me wasn’t havin’ any of dat. Da largest cut me kuld see was da windshield, but there was actually a windshield there so me kuldn’t escape dat way. Mommy was tryin’ to hold on to me fur dear life and snap a foto wiff hers other hand, but dat wasn’t workin’ out so good fur her. Me saw an openin’ she was callin’ a window, and stuck meez head fru it. Let me tell ya’ ifin a cat can get there head and whiskers fru sumfin’ we are pawsitive we can fit our whole body fru. (dat is a fallacy) So me purrceded to try to exit out da window. One thing we cats don’t think ‘bout is dat our whiskers can be smooshed flat, our bodies…not so much. Head fru me pulled meez furst paw fru and…OMC…me got stuck. Mommy fru da camera down and tried pushin’ me back in da cab of meez truck to no avail. Me wasn’t goin’ back in there fur nuffin’. She was sure we was gunna have to use da jaws of life to get me out. Dat wuld mean no truck and no entry fur da derby. And well, mommy wasn’t havin’ dat. Me finally managed to get fru da window wiff da truck and meself still in tact. Scroll over da fotos below to see da captions.
Y This ain’t so bad after all.
Did ya’ get da foto mommy?
Mommy picked up da camera and took out da cab insert and sat down. She looked at me wiff a tear in hers eye and sed, “Oh darlin’ I worked really hard to make you a truck, won’t you purrlease let me take your picture?” Me cocked meez head to one side, very doglike, and meowed, “Well, since you asked so nicely and you did put a lot of work into meez truck, me will let you take sum fotos.” And me jumped right in meez truck and started checkin’ it out. And yes, da flashy box was flash, flash, flashin’ away. We didn’t have anythin’ to wrap meez truck wiff and mommy didn’t have enuff acrylic paint to paint meez truck so it still looks like a brown box wiff duck tape, but hey, rednecks luv duck tape, it’s a miracle worker. But we didn’t have enuff duck tape to wrap up meez whole truck eever. Considerin’ this is totally not sumfin’ mommy be good at, me thinks she did a fine job. Meez gunna go muddin’ now, so hope you all have a pawsum weekend. And weez joinin’ Athena today fur da Caturday Art blog hop.
Meez a cartoon
Have you or your humans ever made you sumfin’ from a cardboard box?
