Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. Sissy, did you see our purretty Christmas Balls?

          Well Raena, me’s not so sure ‘bout the halls, but we are feelin’ that Christmas spirit. And, we’re gonna have a play date next Wednesday to celebrate. Mommy’s purromissed to put up the Christmas tree and all the lights so our guests can enjoy ‘em too. We know everypawdy’s gonna wanna stop by to see who’s comin’ over.

I’s really x’cited sissy. I’s hear one of our guests luvs to play. Since you can be an old fuddy duddy, it’ll be nice to have somekitty to romp with. 

 

          Me’s no fuddy duddy Raena. You just don’t have an off button. Ya’ know, sometimes me would just like to take a nap. Ya’ don’t have to play all the time.

Yes I’s do, sissy. Mommy’s always sayin’ life’s too short, we’ve gotta make the most of it. I’s don’t wanna miss a minute of play time.

          Me thinks ya’ got it a little mixed up, Raena. Mommy always says that when she’s luvvin; on us. She says she doesn’t wanna miss the oppurr-tunity to hold us and let us know how much we’re luvved.

Like we could ever furget that, sissy. Mommy must luvs on us a hunnert million gazillion times a day. But, I’s wouldn’t want her to stop. I’s sure luvs getting’ luvvin’ from mommy. Did mommy tell ya’ we’re gonna have a Christmas Gift List next week? We’re gonna get to feature some our favorite purroducts that would make pawsum gifts fur all the furries and their peeps.

          Me knows. It’s gonna be great. We’ll be showin’ stuffs in just ‘bout every purrice range. We even have a give away fur one of our favorites. And, Service Cat Monday, we’re gonna be meowin’ ‘bout one of a kitties basic needs. Anypawdy who has a kitty is gonna wanna stop by. 

 

Hey sissy, even mommy’s gonna get in on the reviewin’ this month. She hardly ever gets to review anythin’, so we’re really x’cited ‘bout this.

 

          You’re right Raena. Me can’t even ‘member the last time mommy got somethin’ to review. She says it’s okay tho’. She says it makes her happy to see us get new stuffs.

          You’re right ‘bout that, Raena. We better get off here and help mommy get the Christmas tree outta the closet. Did you ever get inside the other day when mommy dragged out the leaf blower?

 

I’s not made it in there yet, sissy. But I’s ready to try again. I’s been purracticin’ my “sneak by ya’” moves and I’s think today just might be mine’s lucky day.

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. Sissy, c’mon, the world’s stopped spinnin’ and we can load our site again.

          Are you sure? Me’s so tired of waitin’ fur the pages to load. Mommy says it’s cuz we live so far out and the innernet peeps haven’t upgraded the wirin’ ‘round here in like, furEVER.

          The box is great Raena. It’s what was in the box that me’s not so sure ‘bout. Mommy says we have to use it cuz we’re s’posed to write a review.

Yeah sissy, but I’s think it’s ‘bout more than just writin’ a review. Mommy seems really x’cited ‘bout it and says it’s gonna be a big help to her. Anyways, I’s just glad we can get back on the catputer. We’ve not been able to visit our furiends fur days. ‘Course, that did give mommy some time to clean the house. You know we’re havin’ a play date soon and we wanna make a good impurr-sion.

          Yep Raena, me can’t wait. It’s gonna be so much fun. We haven’t had a play date in so long. By the way, did you hear mommy on the fone last night with Ms. A, Nub’s mommy?

I’s did sissy. It’s so sad. We hadn’t been over to see him in a couple of weeks. Mommy had said we were gonna take him some special treats this week and then this happens. Ya’ know, Ms. A ended up with Nubs after his person died and nopawdy wanted him. We just can’t ‘magine what it must have been like fur him. Mommy says that’s why it’s so ‘purrtant to make plans fur us fur babies in the event we happen to outlive our peeps. Unfurtunately fur Nubs, he went to heaven on Monday. Ms. A had been at her daughters house, and when she got home, Nubs was layin’ in the kitchen almost dead. He died in Ms. A’s arms on the way to the V-E-T. 

 

          It’s really sad, Raena. but, at least he knew luv befur he left this world. 

 

He also knew the joy of a Yeowww nip nanner since we shared one with him.

          Then ya’ know he was a happy kitty. Anyways, ‘nuff sad stuffs. Ya’ know, Christmas is comin’ up really soon. Me can’t wait fur mommy to put up our tree so we can watch all the lights. You know, you’re gonna have to leave the decorations alone. The tree baubles aren’t toys.

          That’s not true and you know it. Me thought you didn’t ‘member anythin’ ‘bout your furst Christmas?

How could I’s pawssubly furget somethin’ like Christmas, sissy? We got lots of purresents from our Angel furiends. And, we got to go visit and sing carols to the peeps in what mommy called an old folks home. I’s can’t wait to do that again. We are gonna do it again, aren’t we sissy?

          Mommy says some of the rules have changed. But, she’s gonna call and ask ifin we can come again this year. Me just luvs all the lights and decorations this time of year brings ‘bout. And peeps seem to act a little nicer too.

Blest Sunday: Giving Thanks

RaenaBelle, c’mon, it’s time fur Blest Sunday.

          I’s comin’ sissy, I’s just gonna have one more bite of turkey tom lurkey. Sorry Trout Towne Tabbies, but we do luvs a bite of furesh cooked turkey tom lurkey.

That we do Raena. But, we’ve got some freeze dried salmon bits just in case any of our fish luvvin’ furiends happen to paw on over. We sure did enjoy us a nice meal on Fanksgivin’, didn’t we Raena?

          Sure ‘nuff sissy. Fanky fanks to awnty Cindy and angel Maggie Meme, awnty Vonda and awnty Petal fur the green papers. We went to the store and dug through the bin till mommy found a nice lookin’ little breast fur the three of us. She got some more of those big ole bakin’ taters too, and some bread and dinner rolls. You know how much mommy luvs her bread.

Yep, and a teeny milk to go with the noodles and the rest of that powdered cheese fur cheater mac and cheese. Mommy says the rest of the green papers will go towards a V-E-T visit fur your eyes. We gotta figger out why they won’t clear up lessen you’re on the steroids and antibiotics. And, did ya’ hear? Timmy, uncle Pete and the furmily sent me some green papers fur me’s Gotchaday. Fank ya’ll bunches. Me’s thinkin’ maybe we can sneak on the catputer tomorrow with all the other crazy cyber Monday shoppers. Who knows what we’ll find?.

 

          Maybe we can even spare a little to get mommy a donut. I’s not know what a cravin’ is, but she’s been yowlin’ ‘bout donuts fur days now. I’s thinkin’ that’s Bear Kat Cat’s fault. MOL

 

We’ll see Raena. Ya’ know, we’ve been meowin’ ‘bout this and that today, and while we’re sure fankful fur our Fanksgivin’ blessings, we should really meow what we’re most fankful fur.

          That’s easy sissy. We’re most fanky fankful fur mommy and our furever home. We’re fanky fankful fur full bellies, a warm place to lay our heads and the most pawsum furiends in the universe. Ya’ know, we’re so blest to have what we do. There are so many kitties and even peeps out there that be less furtunate than us. Mommy ‘members a time when she wondered where she and Shad would sleep or when she might get to eat, and says it’s no fun at all. And, with the weather getting’ colder, we so worry ‘bout those livin’ outside.

Yeah Raena, we don’t like to think ‘bout any kitty livin’ outside at any time of the year, but we really worry at this time of year ‘specially. Seriously, ifin ya’ have any strays or ferals livin’ in your neck of the woods, purrlease do what ya’ can to help ‘em out. There’s lots of infurmation on da innernets ‘bout makin’ cheap shelters and surely ya’ can spare a few bites fur the less furtunate. The Bible says, ya’ never know when ya’ might be entertainin’ angels unaware. Yeah, me parameowed it. Now we’ll be honest and tell ya’ we don’t know ifin that might be refurrin’ to kitties, but hey, we don’t know it ain’t. What we can tell ya’, is that a little kindness goes a long way.

          That’s so true sissy. We’ll be lookin’ out fur any kitties that happen to come our way. And, we’ll be purrayin’ fur all of you and all those we don’t know who might not be as blest as we are. We luv you all so much and are so grateful to have you in our lives. Each of you are a blessing we count every day.

Taters and Cheese: Shopping Round the World

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. Are ya’ll at home like us, or are ya’ out shoppin’ with all the other mad hatters? MOL  Wouldn’t do us any good to have lots of green papers to spend today cuz we’re getting’ a really late start.

          That’s wha’ch’a get when you keep mommy up till 6 a.m., Raena. A late start. 

 

Me?!!! you make it sound like it’s all mine’s fault mommy didn’t go to bed till 6 this meownin’. I’s thinkin’ your just as much to blame as me. After all, you had the exploration zoomies too.

 

          Wha…uh…hmmmmm  Me doesn’t ‘member any such thing.

Well sissy, ‘member it or not, you was havin’ just as much fun as me. Anyways, do you ‘member Phenny woofin’ ‘bout this Shoppin’ ‘Round the World posty with him and Bacon? You meowed that we were gonna purrticipate this month cuz it was featurin’ an ingredient mommy’s had intimate knowledge of this past year. I’s never purrticipated in a shoppin’ posty befur; what do we do?

 

          Yeah Raena, me ‘members. We quit postin’ cuz mommy couldn’t affurd to shop. But this past year she’s ‘bought more taters than purrobably the whole blogosphere. So, to purrticipate, we link up like ya’ just did and then we post a tater recipe and list the purrices of the items we used.

I’s see. Well, fanky fanks to some furiends, mommy went shoppin’ just the other day to pick up some goodies fur Fanky Fanksgivin’. Among the groceries she brought home was a bag of big ole bakin’ taters. And, this month’s topic just happens to be Taters. Mommy got that big ole 8 pound bag of jumbo taters on sale fur the holidays at $1.99 + tax. That’s the cheapest she’s seen taters in the last couple of years. Most of this last year she’s had to pay $4.99 a bag plus tax.

 

          Sure ‘nuff Raena. Mommy likes to keep butter on hand in case we need medicine or somethin’. The last pound of butter mommy bought was $4.57 + tax. So, we’re gonna meow ‘bout a delishus baked cheesy tater and cheese fries. Here’s the recipe along with ingredients and costs.

Cheesy Baked Tater:

  • Lg Tater fur each eater: 8 lb. bag on sale $1.99 + tax

  • Butter, the real stuff not that margarine: $4.57 lb + tax (we had some already)

  • Cheese, mommy purrfurs Sharp Cheddar: $4.99 lb + tax (we had some left from the yummy red rind LouLou sent us last March)

  • Bake tater in 400° oven fur 1 1/2 – 2 hours (till tender)

  • Slather tater with butter and top with grated cheese

  • Dig in and Eat while it’s warm

 

 

Cheese Fries:

  • Several Lg Taters: 8 lb bag on sale $1.99 + tax

  • Cheese (see above)

  • Fryin’ Oil, mommy likes corn, but we had some vegetable in the cabinet: 24 ounces on sale fur $3.99 + tax

  • Slice Taters into fries

  • Heat oil to 350° and drop sliced taters.

  • Cook till golden brown 

  • Remove from oil and dab excess oil off fries

  • Place fries in heap on cookie sheet or baking dish and top with grated Cheese

  • Put in oven or broiler and broil till cheese melts

  • Optional Toppings: Bacon, Chives, Ham, Pepperoni

  • Dig in and Eat while it’s warm

Mommy does luvs her cheese doesn’t she sissy? And butter. Mommy luvs butter like any good Southern Belle. I’s luvs cheese too, but mommy won’t let me have very much. She says it stops things from working right and means I’s have to have extra butter spoons. Anyways, either of these dishes can make a meal. Mommy says ya’ get a starchy vegetable, a little protein and dairy.

 

          That’s true Raena, but me would rather have some meat. Me wants me’s protein from a nice juicy rabbit, not some cheesy tater.

Mmmmmm Rabbit. I’s with you sissy. Well, we better go now. We’ve still got lots of extra luvvin’ to take advantage of. Mommy says we’ll be takin’ Monday off. Seems last year the innernets was so busy and slow, we could hardly get anythin’ done.

 

          Yeah Raena, Cyber Monday is a big shoppin’ day. All those who didn’t shop today or didn’t get everythin’ they wanted today, will be trollin’ the net fur deals a purrlenty. We can’t wait to see all the tater recipes today. Maybe mommy can get a few new ideas.
