Sooie! #ChewyInfluencer

Meowllo everypawdy and Monday too. We were actually excited fur Monday to get here this week. We told ya’ last week dat sis Lexi seems to get sick late Furiday after da VETs close and then starts feelin’ better late Sunday; just in time to not have to go to da VET on Mondays. Well it happened again this weekend, so we kuldn’t wait fur Monday to come rollin’ in so sissy wuld start feelin’ better. And sure ‘nuff, she’s duin’ much better today. While talkin’ with others, we’s found out this is quite common among our older and/or sick furiends. Good days and bad ones seem to come and go in a cycle. Da really good thing ‘bout sis Lexi’s bad days this weekend is dat she was still eating and able to keep most of da noms down. And dat brings me to today’s posty.

As Chewy.com #Influencers, we get to try a lot of great purroducts; and this month was no exception. As you all know me recently changed me’s eatin’ habits to a raw freeze dried diet. It’s yummy and me’s a lot healthier. So when da opportunity came to try out sum freeze dried liver treats we was all over it. We received a 2 ounce package of Primal Freeze Dried Pork Liver Munchies. Now there’s only 1 ingredient in these treats and it’s pork liver. Yep liver from da pig and nuffin’ else. Primal uses only pork raised in da USA without antibiotics or added hormones. These treats are grain and gluten free with no preservatives or added salt or sugars. Primal has a variety of flavors in a variety of textures.

#Primal Pork Liver Munchies

Now let me tell ya’ a little sumfin’ ‘bout freeze dried foods and treats in general. Some are kinda soft and easily break or crumble and some are really hard, similar to a kibble. Mommy sez it’s mostly cuz of da protein source. This is one of da reasons we have sed dat switchin’ your cat from kibble might be easier with freeze dried noms. Dat bein’ sed, da Pork Liver Munchies we received are on da harder side of freeze dried. Livers usually are. Da pieces are kinda big and needed to broken up into smaller bite size pieces. So let’s get to da taste testin’.

Dezi smells the Primal Pork Liver Munchies

Mommy broke up a piece and offered it to me and sis Lexi. Sis Lexi immediately grabbed a piece and started gummin’ it. It wasn’t too long and she spit it out and walked off. It was a little hard fur a mature girly with no teeth. Well since sissy spit it out there was no way me was gunna try it. So off me went too. A few days later when sis Lexi was nappin’ and mommy and me was havin’ some special alone time she offered me a few bite size pieces. Me looked ‘em over and had a good sniff and then took one. Yep me had furgotten ‘bout sissy spittin’ it out and was ready to give ‘em a try fur me’s self. Me chewed and then switched it to da other side of me’s mouth and chewed sum more. Finally me spit it out too. Dat munchie was still in one piece. It had a few extra holes, and was a bit slimy now but still looked like it did when me started chewin’. Me picked it up and repeated da earlier steps and spit it out again. Thinkin’ maybe me got a bad piece, me took a fresh one from mommy’s open hand and started chewin’ away at it. It didn’t take me long to spit it out too. Me was done. No more lookin’ sniffin’ or chewin’ fur me. These things were too hard and there was no pay off. Me never got anythin’ to swallow. What’s up with dat? Ifin me can’t get it to me’s belly then it ain’t food or treat accordin’ to sissy, and me has to agree.

Sissy sed we needed to be fair and truthful as always in our review, so we both give da Primal Pork Liver Munchies 1 paw up cuz we were innerested enuff to try them. But since neither of us kuld actually chew them up enuff to swallow, we won’t be buyin’ any. Now me knows you wanna know what mommy thought, so here she is.

dw-DeziprimalporkliverDSCN6010 (640x480)

Thank you baby. I wish you and Lexi would/could have eaten them because liver is a great source of protein. I love the fact that there’s nothing in them but the pork liver. There’s no bad or controversial ingredients in them. That’s always a plus in my book. Altho they are a bit hard, they are still fairly easily broken into smaller pieces. And because it’s just pork liver, the treats are great for mixed households. Doggy and kitty can both have the same treat at treat time. The bag is pretty full so the price of $6.99 is fair. But because y’all didn’t actually eat them, I can only give them 1 thumb up.

dw-DeziprimalporkliverDSCN6009ribedit (640x480)

Thanks mommy. So there ya’ have it. Da Primal Freeze Dried Pork Liver Munchies are a great treat fur kitties and doggies. But purrobly not a good choice fur da kitties with teeth purroblems or no teeth. They’re a bit hard so not everykitty is gunna like ‘em but most of our peeps will luv them cuz of da goodness of ‘em. You kuld add water and purrobly soften them a bit, but once it’s in a bowl it’s no longer a treat to us. Chewy has lots of great products so we’re certain you will find somethin’ to meet your needs. There’s always free and speedy shipping on orders of $49.00 or more and a flat rate shipping fur all others. You can set up an autoship so you never run out of your furries favorites again. And don’t worry you can skip cancel, edit or delay any shipment. We are linkin’ up to da #ChewyInfluencers review hop hosted by The Golden Woofs. Check out what others sed about da purroducts they tried this month.

Can You Tell What’s In The Can

Well it’s another miserable Monday and we’re all still here. We kinda went AWOL this weekend cuz sis Lexi wasn’t duin’ so good. Late last night she finally pulled out of it a bit and wanted to eat. We was so happy. Me dusn’t really unnerstand what’s goin’ on when sissy be havin’ a bad time so mommy not only has to take care of sissy, she also has to comfurt me. She duz a gweat job but it leaves her totally exhausted. Anyways back to sis Lexi’s eatin’.

As #ChewyInfluencer’s we received a gweat variety pack of Tiki Cat Gourmet Carnivore canned cat food this month free of charge in exchange fur our honest opinion. As ya’ know, free or not, we always tell it like it is. We’s only ever tried da chicken and duck so we were excited to get to try more flavors. We got a 12 pack of 2.8 ounce cans. Da chicken and duck we like so much was included along with beef, turkey and fishies includin’ tuna. Furst let me tell ya’ dat when you open a can of Tiki Cat, you wuld never know you be lookin’ at cat food. Inside each can is shredded, cut and/or sliced pieces of real meat in juices or a consommé and no stinky smell. Meat is da furst ingredient in every can and there’s no carrageenan. So since sissy hadn’t really eaten all weekend, mommy gave her a can of da Tiki Cat fur dinner last night. Me was purrpared to let her have me’s can too cuz me wanted her to get full and me had a can at breakfast.

dw-TikiCat2-166004 (640x497)

Now let me tell ya’ a little more ‘bout da Tiki Cat foods afur we get to da tastin’. All da foods we tried are grain and gluten free. Carbohydrate, starch and flour free as well. They are made with whole meats and be 55 % protein, 35 % fat and 0 % Carbs. Of course it contains da extra vitamins and minerals required to meet da nutritional needs of all cats and kittens. So on with da taste test. What did sis Lexi think ‘bout her dinner?

I luvved it Dezi. I really like da chicken and duck but I have also luvved every flavor we got in our variety pack. And it tazted even better lazt night when I waz soooooo hungry. So I give da Tiki Cat 4 pawz up. Did you like da one you had fur brekky?

Mmmmmmmm Thiz iz gooooood.
Mmmmmmmm Thiz iz gooooood.

Me sure did Lexi. Me also gives Tiki Cat 4 paws up. And mommy sed cuz of da gweat ingredients, and lack of da bad and controversial ones, she luvs it too. And she gives it 2 fumms up. And since we both like it and lick da plate clean me magines dat’s another reason mommy likes it. You can get your own Tiki Cat at Chewy.com fur $11.77 – $17.17. Pure Taste

OMC Da year 2015 is almost over. Me can’t hardly believe it. So much has happened this past year, most of it good. And one of those things is dat we became part of da Chewy Blogging Furmily. We luv Chewy. We told ya’ when we started bloggin’ fur ‘em dat we had been shoppin’ there fur quite sum time, and we still do. Those of ya’ dat be a little older will member da sayin’ “Da customer is always right”. Unfurtunately lots of businesses have furgotten this, but not Chewy. Chewy has pawsum customer service peeps and they still believe da customer’s always right. Ifin you haven’t guessed, it’s time fur our last Chewy review of da year. So let’s get on with it.

Dezi rubs the package of Canidae pure treats

Dezi rubs the package of Canidae Pure treats

We received a package of da Canidae Grain Free Pure Taste Treats. Mommy chose da game bird recipe fur us to try cuz we kinda like da duck, goose, quail and such. These treats are made with limited ingredients. Da ingredient list fur our treats is: duck, turkey meal, quail meal, peas, potatoes, canola oil, sweet potatoes, natural flavors and mixed tocopherals (a source of vitamin E). They’re little heart shaped kibbles fur just da right size kitty bite. They come in a 3 oz packet and are available in 4 flavors, chicken, salmon, trout and da game bird recipe dat we got. So what did we think ‘bout ‘em you ask?

Dezi sniffs the bag of Canidae Pure treats

Me ate 3 pieces da minute mommy opened da package. So she got out a few more pieces fur me, to which me purromptly turned up meez nose at. Sis Lexi munched down on quite a few pieces afur walkin’ away. A few days later mommy offered them to me again. Me sniffed at them and turned up meez nose yet again. Sissy gobbled them down again and again. So me has to give these treats 3 paws down. Me gives them one paw up cuz sissy likes ‘em and me luvs anythin’ dat sissy will eat. Me must tell ya’ dat since changin’ meez noms from kibble and canned to fureeze dried raw and canned, these have been da furst kibbley bites mommy has offered to me. And altho’ these treats be good quality mommy was impurressed dat me didn’t want ‘em.

Dezi tries a Canidae Pure treat

Well you might not have liked ‘em Dezi but I fawt they waz grayt. As a lot of ya’ know I don’t have a lot of teefies left, and these little bite size treats are small enuff fur minez few teef to krunch ‘em up afur swallowin’. And I luv, luv, luv me sum duck. So I give them 4 paws up.

Lexi smells the Canidae Pure treats in mommy's hand

Meez so glad you like ‘em sissy. So what did mommy think? Well she was very happy dat protein in da furm of a meat was da furst ingredient but wuld have spected no less from Canidae. Because of meez recent bout with da cystits, mommy wasn’t so happy ‘bout all da starch; not one type of potato but 2 are listed. And as ya’ know starch turns to sugar in da body and taxes da liver and kidneys. But as a treat dat gets fed in small purrtions and only occasionally she gave them a fumm up. Also cuz sis Lexi wuld eat them and findin’ things she likes these days gets harder and harder. So there ya’ have it, 1 fumm and 5 paws up fur da Canidae Grain Free Pure Taste cat treats.

Lexi tries a heart shaped Canidae pure treat

As with all our Chewy reviews we got no money fur this review but did receive da treats to try fur furee. And we only bring ya’ things we think you might be innerested in dat we use or have tried ourselves. And we always tell ya’ like it is, good, bad or otherwise.

Gift Picks From Blessings

Here it is supposedly da biggest shoppin’ day of da year and we’re still givin’ thanks fur our many blessings. But dat bein’ sed we thought we wuld put together a gift list this year. We’ve never done one of these before but we’ve received and reviewed so many pawsum purroducts this past year and a lot of ya’ trust us to tell da truth ‘bout things dat we thought we wuld be remiss ifin we didn’t. We’re not getting’ paid fur this and we won’t get anything ifin you buy any of these things, but we think these items would be great gifts fur the furry purrer(s) in your life.

1. We’ll start in January when we were so blest to have received da Fandango Liberty Cat tree from Cat Tree Steve and a special donor. It retails fur $349.00. Yes, we were and are very blest as mommy kuld never have afforded this. Obviously da Liberty tree is pawsum, but Cat Tree Steve makes a variety of trees, posts and steps, and all are made by hand out of real wood and great quality carpets. And he takes special orders. So ifin you don’t see what suits your fancy, let him know what you would like, we’re sure y’all can come up with somethin’. All things considered, his prices are good. His scratchin’ posts start at $39.00 and prices go up from there based on the item you choose. But trust us, sometimes you get what you pay fur, and when it comes to trees and scratchers, you want somethin’ sturdy and safe fur your kitty to use.

#Dezi and #Lexi sit on the #Fandango #Cat tree

2. It would be so wrong ifin we didn’t list one of our favorite toys ever, da Yeowww nip toys. OMC Does this company make a bad toy? We have da nana (altho we can’t seem to find it right now, mol), cigar and sardines and LUV them all. Da link takes you to amazon and da nana, but check out all da Yeowww toys, we’re sure they will be a hit. Prices vary according to product and where you buy them, but they start around $6.00 and go up from there.

3. Next up is a good scratcher. Regardless of how your kitty likes to scratch, all cats need to scratch. Yes, even your declawed kitty still wants and needs to scratch. Mommy sez you need scratchers in a variety of materials and at least one horizontal and one vertical scratcher. We’re furiends with a dog rescuer who once told mommy dat she thought a scratcher was a scratcher and she didn’t know there was any more to it. But there is. Me is a vertical scratcher dat purrfurs carpet and sisal. Sis Lexi is a horizontal scratcher and purrfurs corrugated cardboard; altho’ she will also use sisal. Ifin your kitty is a vertical scratcher be sure to get a sturdy post. Ifin it falls over da furst time we touch it, we won’t ever use it again. Our furst Christmas we won a pawsum scratchin’ post from da Purrfect Post. And this year we reviewed a great horizontal bench scratcher made by Catit. Prices here range according to scratchin’ surface, size, type and where you get it. They can start as low as $8.00 and go up into da $100’s.

4. Next up is the Fountain. Something that’s not only fun, but helps your kitty stay healthy. Mommy sez dat just like da scratchers, this one can be a bit tricky too. There’s so many options on da market today dat surely you can find da right one fur your kitty. And don’t get discouraged ifin your kitty seems afraid of da fountain at furst. It took me a good long while afur me wuld even get near our furst fountain, much less take a drink from it. MOL  We reviewed da pawsum Pagoda fountain from PetSafe a few moths ago and we luv it. And mommy luvs it cuz it be easy to clean. But me also luvs to drink from a stream which me can’t do with da Pagoda. American Valley Pet makes a great fountain dat has UV sterilization and a stream. Tween da bubbly ones to da streamin’ ones, plastic, steel or ceramic water fountains, there’s one out there fur your furry pal. Prices here can range from $25.00 to the $100’s. Just remember to be patient and keep a bowl of water out by da fountain till you see your furry pal drinkin’ from da fountain. You don’t want them getting’ dehydrated cuz they’re too afraid to try da fountain. Every kitty can be won over, it just takes a little time.

5. Now you know your little hunter needs to play and Jackson Galaxy da cat daddy himself has some really pawsum interactive toys. Da furst one is da Ground Prey wand toy. Oh we luv this one. And with the wire holdin’ da toy to da wand, it’s purretty indestructable. Da next one is da Air Prey wand toy. This wuld be da one fur all you fevver luvvers. Both of these sell fur $15.95 on Jackson’s site. Altho’ a little pricey, they awe worth it when you see da amount of joy on your little hunter’s face.

Well there ya’ go. A little list of sum pawsum products. Any of these items wuld make purrfect gifts fur da furry purrer in your life. Altho’ we haven’t reviewed all of these fur ya’, we do own them and use them regularly. We hope you enjoy our gift picks and remember da bestest gift of all is Luv. A furever home where we’re safe and luvved is all we really ask fur. As da human in this relationship, it’s up to you to make sure we have da things needed to keep us healthy and happy and not destroyin’ your furniture. We awe so blest to have our luvvin’ furever home with an amazin’ mommy and da things we need to be healthy happy kitties.

Dezi in Autumn Rose frame

As we do every weekend, we’re joinin’ Rascal and Rocco fur da Pet Parade. And come back on Monday fur a pawsum review from mommy. She’s got a gift pick you gotta see. Gotta go now, mommy just pulled out da ground prey wand and me needs to ketch it.
