Is It Bacon? #ChewyInfluencer

Meowllo everypawdy it’s another miserable Monday. You know it’s not Monday’s fault nopawdy likes her, she just happens to mean da furst day of da work week fur so many; and it’s da getting’ up and goin’ to work dat peeps not like. So we blame it on Monday. It’s kinda like dat time you knocked over a favorite vase and broke it and blamed it on your (fur) sib. Okay, so maybe it’s not just like dat, but hey, it’s close enough.

Sweet Dezi on cat tree
Meowllo everypawdy, sit back and relax and let me tell ya’ a story.

Speakin’ of workin’ me has some great treats to share with ya’ today. Me luvs Chewy and as pawrt of their blogging family me gets to try out all kinds of new things each month. Me luvs me’s Primal freeze dried noms, so when we saw Primal treats on da list of goodies this month, we jumped all over dat. Mommy ordered up da Primal Treats Pork Nibs. Me luvs da Primal freeze dried pork noms, so this seemed like a furgone conclusion. Now these pork nibs are more of a jerky than me’s freeze dried food. Da nibs are small and bite sized fur kitties and small dogs. And me would call da texture…chewy. They’re not hard but they’re also not soft. They cannot, me repeats, cannot be crumbled and added to food as a topping or reconstituted with water.

Primal Pork Nibs Treats for dogs and cats

Da ingredient list is short and sweet…literally. MOL They contain Pork Heart, Honey and Sea Salt. They are made from pork raised in da U.S. without antibiotics or added hormones. Primal says: da Pork Nibs are a single source protein snack, grain and gluten free with no preservatives. These treats are good fur both cats and dogs. No need to buy two different treats. They must be refrigerated after opening and served within 14 days. Ifin ya’ leave them out of da fridge they must be used up in 3 days to purrvent spoiling. They come in a 4 oz. bag fur $12.99.

Dezi sniffing the Primal Pork Nibs treat bag

Me knows you all wanna know what me thought about da Primal Pork Nib treats, don’t ya’? Well initially me thought da smell comin’ from da bag was heavenly. Me couldn’t wait till mommy finally got da bag open. She got a couple pieces out and offered them to me. Me buried me’s whole face in mommy’s hand sniffin’ those pork hearts. And then me finally took a bite. And me chewed and chewed and chewed and suddenly spit it out. When me spit it out me looked up at mommy. Mommy said da look on me’s face was purriceless, but she has no idea what happened.

Dezi sniffing treats in mommys hand

Me finally ate a couple of pieces later dat day, but me wouldn’t touch ‘em again after dat. Me thinks they would make a great dog training treat. And of course there are kitties dat like chewy jerky treats. And these would be purrfect. They have a great ingredient deck and don’t contain any of da questionable stuffs. Fur dat me gives ‘em a paw up. Mommy liked da limited ingredients too and dat they were small bite sizes dat she wouldn’t have to break or cut. But cuz me wouldn’t eat them they’re not somethin’ she would buy. So only 1 thumb up from mommy too.

Primal does have several different types of treats and most are limited or single source proteins, so me’s sure you could find somethin’ to suit you. As always, Chewy offers speedy free shipping on all orders of $49.00 or more and speedy flat rate shipping on all orders less than $49.00. They also have a convenient auto ship program so you never run out of your pets favorite food, litter, treats, or supplies; and you can always skip, cancel or delay. Well it’s time fur me’s mid meownin’ nap, so me will see ya’ later.

Did Somebody Say Rabbit #ChewyInfluencer

Meowllo Monday. You can’t get me down today, cuz me has some great treats to tell everypawdy about. As pawrt of da Chewy.com bloggin’ family me gets to try lots of great products dat me might not otherwise get to try. And da treats me’s gonna be tellin’ ya’ ‘bout today is just one of those things.

Dezi looks coyly from the cat tree

Me’s told you lots of times dat me’s favorite treats be of da Freeze Dried nature, so we were really excited to see Halo Liv-a-Littles as an offering this month. Me luvs their chicken breast. So delicious. Anyways, mommy thought it would be good to mix it up and give me da chance to try another furmula. We learned real quick when me changed to a freeze dried diet dat me luvs rabbit. Not da pet bunnies kinda rabbit, but da “wascally wabbits” kind of rabbit. So me couldn’t wait to give these Liv-a-Littles Farm Raised Rabbit a try.

Dezi rubbing the Halo Liv-a-Littles treat jar

Halo Liv-a-Littles are grain free and farm raised. They come in a 2.4 oz. jar and da rabbit costs $8.94. Da ingredients are: Rabbit, Salt and mixed tocopherols (preservative). There are five different flavor choices. They are little squares and mommy says they’re too hard to “break” or crumble. Because they’re basically rabbit they’re good fur both cats and doggies. So ifin you share your home with a woofie, no need to buy different treats. And remember. they be 100% grain free.

Dezi eats a Halo rabbit treat

So what did da actual taste test reveal? Well mommy worried when she took da furst treat out and couldn’t break it up into smaller pieces. Fur a big kitty me likes little bitty bites. MOL But mommy offered me a bite of rabbit and me eagerly took it and started to chew. Me repositioned and chewed some more and finally broke it up. Me spit out half of it and continued to chew up and swallow da other half. And then me asked fur another piece. Yeah me knows me still had half a piece on da floor, but it was all wet and slobbery and me wanted a fresh piece. Me’s not spoiled one bit. Two paws up from me. They could be a little softer or crumblier, but all in all they be yummy. Mommy, what do you think ‘bout da Halo Liv-a-Littles Farm Raised Rabbit Treats?

 Dezi eats Halo rabbit treat

Well Dezi I was very happy that you ate them, or at least some of them. Thankfully Buddy doesn’t mind your left over dried up slobbered on treats, so the part you didn’t eat didn’t go to waste and he liked them as well as you did. Buddy gives them 2 paws up as well. The rabbit formula is not good for crumbling over other foods as an enticement and doesn’t seem to reconstitute in water very well, so they have to be eaten in their current cubed form. They don’t have the stench some rabbit products do so that’s a plus. All in all,I’m glad you liked them, so I give them a thumb up.

World’s Best: Blest Sunday #ChewyInfluencer

Well it’s time fur another Blest Sunday. You know me feels so blest to have a furever home with a mommy who luvs me more than anything and all our wonderful furiends. So when me can add a material blessing, me is always quadrupely blest. As you all know we luv Chewy.com and are thrilled to be pawrt of their blogging family known as #ChewyInfluencers. This month we got to try out a new litter. Well it’s new to us but some of you already use it. We’ve heard lots of good things ‘bout it so we couldn’t wait to receive it.

Dezi laying on the vanity
Me’s in da pawdee box room cuz me’s got a pawsum litter to tell you ’bout.

Chewy Logo

So what litter is it you ask? It’s da World’s Best Cat Litter Scoopable Multiple Cat Clumping Formula. We received da 7 pound bag. As most of you know, me is a big kitty who has a big litterbox. World’s Best says it works best with at least 2 to 3 inches of litter in da pan. Da 7 pound bag would be adequate for a small to medium size box. So mommy layered da World’s Best over me’s other litter so me could give it a try.

 World's Best Cat Litter

Chewy’s website doesn’t really say what makes up the World’s Best Cat Litter, but ifin you scroll over da foto it says it’s made from whole kernel corn and is 100% natural. And it’s flushable. Dat’s always a pawsitive in our books. They do make several different formulas. They all appear to be clumping but some are made with pine and some are scented while da one we chose is not. Truth be told, kitties don’t like scented litter. Companies do dat to appeal to da humans who do da buying. Below is a list of attributes listed about World’s Best Litter.

Key Benefits

  • Outstanding odor control
  • Quick clumping formula
  • 99% dust-free
  • Easy scooping
  • Pet, people and planet friendly

Dezi looking in the World's Best Cat litter bag

So what did me think about it? Well initially me kept smelling it and trying to taste it. So mommy had to mix it up with me’s current litter so me would use it fur it’s intended purr-puss. After mixing me used it without a thought. Me didn’t notice any dust so to speak when me was diggin’ so no sneezin’. It took care of me’s business so me gives it 2 paws up. Now let’s ask mommy what she thinks.

Dezi looks in letterbox with the World's Best Cat litter

Is me supposed to eat this or pee on it?

Thank you baby. I’m glad you liked the World’s Best Cat Litter. I also didn’t notice any dust to speak of and love that it’s natural and flushable. I didn’t like seeing you trying to eat your litter, so there’s apparently a fragrance of some sort that you associate with food. But that was easily fixed by mixing it. And you made no further attempts once you had actually used it for its intended purpose. As you can see by the floor, it does track. The 7 pound bag is $6.99 and the largest bag at 28 pounds is $25.55. So pricewise it’s pretty equivalent to what we already spend on a bag of litter. It clumps nicely. So all in all I give it thumbs up too.

chewybloghop_badgeorig-300x300

Thanks mommy. So this week was full of blessings. Paws up and thumbs up fur da World’s Best Clumping Cat Litter. Me has a real tasty treat to tell ya’ ‘bout this week, so you’ll have to stay tuned. You can get your own bag or check out all da great stuff Chewy carries here. Remember Chewy offers free speedy shipping on all orders of $49.00 or more and a flat rate fur all other orders. And they offer an auto ship program so you never have to worry about runnin’ out of your pets food or favorite treats. Now dat’s a blessin’ too.

Dezi naps in the cat bed
Well it’s time fur a nap.

So take a few minutes today and everyday to give thanks fur all da blessings in your life. Me thanks you all fur bein’ me’s furiends. And no, me still doesn’t know what mommy’s secret is, but me will keep you posted.

Holistic Blend Wrap Up #ChewyInfluencer

What’s Buddy gonna be eating next?

 Chewy Logo

Well just as me purromissed, today we’s gonna wrap up Buddy’s 30 day challenge on da Holistic Blend Chicken and Salmon cat food. Ifin you missed any of our posts ‘bout this you can read them here and here. Furst let me remind ya’ dat Buddy was eatin’a really cheap and badly furmulated store brand food. Mr. W be really cheap when it comes to Buddy. He straightens up every now and then when mommy gets on to him, but then he falls back into old habits. So when this oppurrtunity came ‘round we were really glad he agreed to let Buddy eat da new noms and committed to at least a month. As you know we don’t eat kibble in our house, so Buddy was da purrfect candidate. And since he would be transitioning from a poor quality food to a high quality food we had hoped to see improvements in his coat, activity levels and over all health.

Buddy poses with the Holistic Blend cat food bag

Holistic Blend Cat Food

And here’s da claims:

Key Benefits

  • Hypoallergenic recipe for all life stages

  • Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids promote healthy skin and coat

  • Provides low dietary magnesium

  • Highly digestible and palatable

  • Quality ingredients allow for smaller feeding portions

  • Promotes healthy stools

  • Promotes balanced urinary pH

  • Stimulates the breakdown of ammonia to reduce stool and urine odor

  • No animal by-products, antibiotics or growth hormones

  • No corn, wheat, sugar or salt

Me told you dat Buddy liked da noms and ate them right up. Mr. W didn’t transition Buddy slowly, he just took away da old food and started da Holistic Blend. So what changes did mr. W and mommy see in Buddy? Well da furst is dat even with da immediate change in food, Buddy didn’t have any tummy upsets or loose stools. Dat’s always a Yay and cause fur a paw up. Of course we’s in purrime shedding season ‘round here, but mr. W sed dat Buddy seemed to shed less, and his coat was lots softer and shinier. Mommy agreed. When she went up to check on Buddy his coat did seem much softer and shinier. Mr. W sed there wasn’t any changes in da amount or smell of Buddy’s urine or stools, so we can’t say dat claim is valid. Mr. W did say dat Buddy was eating less but getting full. And mommy had insisted on a scheduled feeding routine as opposed to the free feeding method Buddy was accustomed to. Buddy took to the scheduled feeding routine like a champ.

Buddy sniffing at the Holistic Blend in the measuring cup before it gets put in his plate

As me sed befur, da Holistic Blend doesn’t contain carrageenan or da gums, so ifin your humans are concerned ‘bout those controversial ingredients, they can choose Holistic Blend without worry. A 3 lb. bag costs $14.99 and da 10 lb. bag is $32.99. Buddy is a big kitty and typically eats ‘bout an 8 lb. bag of food every month so we received da 10 lb. bag fur him to try. Now me knows you all wanna know ifin mr. W is gonna order this food fur Buddy now dat da challenge be over. Me told you all dat he asked mommy to check da price and let him know how much it would cost to keep Buddy on da Holistic Blend. So da final verdict is…Yep, mr. W just ordered a new bag fur Buddy. It should be here any day now. WooHoo Buddy gave da Holistic Blend 4 paws up, and mr. W gave it 2 fumms up. It’s a winner in their house fur sure.

Buddy chowing down on his Holistic Blend dinner

Mommy sed she still hated dat da furst couple ingredients was chicken meal and rice, but dat doesn’t make it a bad food as chicken meal is reported to be higher in protein than da meat itself. So all in all mommy gave it a fumm up too. Me never got to try it, but it sure smelled good. So there ya’ have it, our final thoughts on da Holistic Blend chicken and salmon cat food. As always you can shop with confidence at Chewy. They have lots of purroducts to meet da needs of your furry or furryless furmily member. And speedy low cost or free (fur orders over $49.00) shipping. You can also set up auto ships so you never run out of your pets favorites.
