Chatting Cats: Time To Blow The Leaves

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. (Raena zooms thru the house) Sissy!!! Look’it, the sun’s shinin’!!! Hurry, ya’ don’t wanna miss it!!!

          (Dezi slowly saunters toward the living room) RaenaBelle, calm down. It’s not like you’ve never seen sunshine befur.

But sissy, it’s been gone furever!!! When ole man Winter got here, Mr. Sunshine left. I’s thought he went and packed his bags like Ms. Fall.

          Raena, you know Sunshine, Fall and Winter are seasons, right? They don’t really have bags to pack. That’s just somethin’ mommy says to make fun fur us. 

 

(Raena looks around as if thinking about what Dezi just said) Hmmmm Well sissy, bags or no bags, Mr. Sunshine’s here today, and mommy says he’s gonna be gone again tomorrow.

          Okay Raena, whatever. Mommy’s gonna have to get the leaf blower out befur we can go fur any strolls. Have you seen all the leaves on our purrch? 

 

Yeah sissy, I’s did. I’s don’t like those big ole trees any more than mommy does. All Summer they drop dead leaves and harbor those nasty web worms. And, ifin that wasn’t bad enuff, now they’re droppin’ all their leaves right on our purrch. Ya’ know some of our furiends post fotos of all these purretty rainbow colored leaves; but none of our leaves look like that. They’re all brown and holey from the worms. Ole man Winter just makes everythin’ look yucky. And did you feel that bump on your last stroll? Mommy said that was cuz of a crack in the pavement from tree roots.

 

          Yeah Raena, those trees do cause a lot of purroblems. But, we can’t do anythin’ ‘bout ‘em, so we just need to help mommy with the leaf blower.

Am I’s gonna like the leaf blower sissy? 

 

 

          Well Raena, it’s a lot louder than the carpet monster, but let me meow ya’, mommy gets really crazy with it. Oh The stories me could meow. MOL 

 

Really sissy? Maybe you could meow a few durin’ our upcomin’ playdate?.

          Maybe Raena. Me can’t wait to see who our guests are gonna be. Are you and mommy plannin’ a surpurrise fur me’s Gotchaday next week? You know it’s the day befur Fanksgivin’. Me hasn’t heard ya’ll meow or talk ‘bout it at all. Surely mommy didn’t furget?. 

 

Oh purrlease, sissy. You don’t think mommy could furget your Gotchaday, do you? Mommy’s always sayin’ how blest she is to have you choose her to be your mommy. But, I’s don’t know ifin mommy’s plannin’ anythin’ fur your Gotchaday. Ya’ know, money’s been real tight lately. I’s do know she’ll give ya’ lots of extra special luvvin’. And what more could a kitty ask fur?

 

          Me just knew she would be the purrfect mommy, Raena. Didn’t you feel it too?

Yep sissy, I’s sure did. We sure are blest kitties. I’s not only got a pawsum mommy, but I’s also got you. Even tho’ you can sometimes be grumpy, I’s know you luvs me too. Well, guess we better go help mommy with the leaf blower ifin we plan on getting’ in a stroll today.

          There’s one more thing me wanted to meow ‘bout Raena. Lately we’ve had several peeps ask ‘bout our fone service. Ya’ know, we use the magic jack. Mommy says peeps wanted to know what we pay fur service, how we like it and ifin it has to be connected to a catputer that be turned on all the time. Furst, we pay fur service once a year. Our payment fur the next year is due this month, and be $39.00 plus $3.00 fur 911 service. That 911 fee was added a couple years ago when peeps started droppin’ their land lines and usin’ cell fones more offen. Secondly, it doesn’t have to be connected to a catputer at all. It plugs into a wall outlet and your innerent modem. And thirdly, we really can‘t complain ‘bout the service. We can call all of the US and Canada fur furee. There’s no long distance charges or hidden fees and taxes. The only time we don’t have service is when the ‘lectricity’s out or the innernets be down. And well, what with cordless fones bein’ used fur those who have land lines, they don’t have service durin’ power outages either. So, we hope that helps those of you who were wonderin’. 

 

Fanky fanks sissy. C’mon, let’s go play in the closet while mommy gets the leaf blower. Since the closet’s off limits, who knows what we might find in there. MOL

Chatting Cats: Where Did All This Cold Come From

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. I’s can’t believe the week we’re havin’. And OMC It turned cold, cold, cold here over night.

What’s that sissy? Why me? Ya’ make it sound like it was mine’s fault. I’s didn’t do anythin’ wrong. I’s didn’t make the innernets be sketchy, or the storms to roll thru, or all the letters and calls that came fur mommy with upsettin’ mews. And I’s fur sure didn’t schedule mommy’s doctors ‘pointment to be right in the middle of it all.

          Me never meowed it was your fault Raena, me just meant that you should let everypawdy know that we’re okay and sorry we missed Service Cat Monday. But, never fear, we’ll be back on schedule next week. Well, lessen the innernet’s ghosties appear again.

(Raena looks around a bit confused) Somehow, I’s still think that’s not nice. But fur now, I’s’ll let it go. I’s gotta tell ya’ sissy, I’s not really likin’ all this cold weather we’re havin’. Mr. Sunshine hasn’t been out fur days. I’s thought it was Fall? Ya’ know cooler days fur strollin’? But Nooooooo, we went from Summer to Winter overnight. Altho’, I’s do like the appearance of the ‘lectric blanky. Snugglin’ with mommy the last couple of nights has been really toasty. Well, once you quit meowmblin’ that is. What’s up with that anyways.

          What? You kept jumpin’ on me. Mommy told you it was late and time to go to bed. You know play time’s over when mommy takes us to bed. We’ve done the same thing every night since you came to live here. 

 

Maybe I’s wasn’t ready to go to bed, sissy. Maybe, I’s wasn’t sleepy yet. Maybe the colds have given me more energy. Maybe, you just looked to temptin’ not to jump on.

 

          Well, temptin’ or not, sleepy or not, you know the rules. You know mommy can’t sleep without us layin’ beside her. And besides, that ‘lectric blanky sure makes fur nice cuddlin’. As fur all that energy, me’s kind’a feelin’ it too. But me did hope fur a few more days of strollin’ weather befur it got so cold.

I’s purromiss I’s’ll do better tonight sissy. Meowin’ of sleepin’ and ‘lectric blankies, I’s thinkin’ a little nap just might be what the doctor ordered as mommy would say.

 

          That does sound like a good idea Raena. (Dezi sees the manager coming up the walk) HiSSSssssssss  Me’s thinkin’ we oughtta go nap right now Raena. Looks like more bad mews is on it’s way to the door now.

Hissssssss RaenaBelle!!! Stop jumpin’ on me. It’s time to write our Blest Sunday posty.

          But sissy, I’s wanna play. You’re no fun.

There’ll be purrlenty of time to play later Raena. Right now, it’s posty time. And, we’ve gotta get to writin’ while mommy’s still awake to take meow-tation. Ya’ know, she kept conkin’ out yesfurday.

          She does that all the time sissy. ‘Specially when she’s tired. I’s guess she was really tired yesfurday, cuz even after takin’ that nap, she still conked out over the keyboard. All we can do is hope we weren’t visitin’ one of our furiends at the time. Ifin so, our meow-tation wouldn’t make any sense. I’s just hope she’s ketchin’ up on all that sleep she missed. Mine’s eyes are doin’ much better, and I’s feelin’ all spry and happy now.

          Yeah, you’re feelin’ a little too spry ifin ya’ ask me. You’ve been doin’ zoomies and bouncin’ off the walls fur the last couple of days. Not to mention jumpin’ all over me ever chance ya’ get.

 

          I’s just feelin’ sooooooo good sissy. All I’s want is fur you to play with me. But noooooo, you’re just bein’ an old fuddy duddy. By the way, what ‘zactly is a fuddy duddy? The weather’s coolin’ off and I’s got all this energy inside, and I’s just gotta let it out. MOL

Yeah, it is getting’ cooler isn’t it Raena?. Ifin ya’ don’t know what somethin’ is, then ya’ might think twice ’bout meowin’ it. Anyways, it’s also startin’ to turn dark earlier too. That means we’ll get to eat dinner an hour earlier. 

 

          We will sissy? Did anypawdy tell mommy that? Cuz I’s know I’s can’t tell time, but I’s purretty sure we ate dinner an hour later than usual last night. 

 

Well, mommy’s just gotta ketch up with the time, that’s all.

          Hmmmpht  By the time she does that, it’ll be time to change all our clocks. Ya’ know, crazy humans think they need to play with time. They should just do what us kitties do…run on tummy time.

 

Yep Raena, that’s purrobably the smartest thing you’ve ever said. Anyways, we’re here to meow ‘bout our blessings, not meow the fat ‘bout time and other such nonsense.

          There ain’t nuffin’ nonsensical ‘bout noms and dinner time sissy. But you’re right, such blest kitties as we are should fur sure meow ‘bout ‘em. Even tho’ I’s didn’t wanna go to the V E T, I’s feelin’ much better now that I’s did. Altho’, fur some reason you and mommy keep complainin’ ‘bout mine’s smell. 

 

Oh Raena, you’ve got a nose. And me knows you can smell it too. Y, You even grumble right befur you pass that wind. Ya’ almost ran mommy and me outta bed last night with the smell.

 

          Seems that vaccination made me a little gassy, sissy. I’s grumble cuz mine’s tummy’s rumblin’. I’s sure hope it goes away soon.

So do we, Raena, so do we. But, me knows mommy and me are fur sure happy you’re feelin’ better, stinky or not. Me believes you’ve even put on a few pounds since your visit to that pawful place. 

 

          Yeah sissy, mommy’s had to make both of us seconds at each meal the last few days. she says she’s so happy we’re eatin’ so good. I’s just grateful we have enuff noms to get those seconds. ‘Specially when just a few short days ago, we ran out.

 

We are blest Raena. We’re blest to have so many pawsumly amazin’ furiends too. Me knows we’re behind in our visits, but me sure hopes things slow down a bit now and we can get ‘round to see everypawdy soon. We miss so much when we can’t visit.

          That’s the truth sissy. Even tho’ we might not make it by to visit with them, they’re always in our thoughts and purrayers. We are all so blest to have each other. I’s sure wanna say a meowsy big fanky fanks to all of them fur their purrayers fur me.

Chatting Cats: Decorations Everywhere

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. You should’a seen all the stuffs I’s did yesfurday. Mommy and me went to her dentist ‘pointment to get her dentures re-lined, and the place had all kinds of decorations out. Y, They even had the cutest black cat sittin’ on a table.

That’s the new old window behind me. Mommy had furgot to turn the

lights on, so mine’s foto is really dark.

 

 

It wasn’t real sissy, but it was still cute. ‘Course, we have no fotos, cuz mommy totally furgot the camera. We even met a new dental assistant. And ya’ know what? She used to work at that place that refused to treat mommy ifin I’s was there. She said they talked ‘bout mommy and me furever. But she did tell mommy that we were lucky they wouldn’t treat her, cuz it was a bad place. 

 

          Sometimes God knows things we don’t Raena. Actually, most of the time. Me’s glad things worked out the way they did. What else did ya’ll do?

We went to the Wally World and the Pet store. Mommy said she was lookin’ fur a surpurrise fur your birthday. When is your birthday sissy? Will I’s get a surpurrise too?

          Really Raena? Mommy was lookin’ fur me a surpurrise? Me’s birthday will be here befur ya’ know it. This is October and me’s birthday is November the first. Just a few more days. Did mommy buy me anythin’?

How should I’s know sissy? Besides, ifin she did and I’s told ya’, it wouldn’t be a surpurrise anymore. You should’a seen all the cute dresses they had. Mommy said it was ridiculous how ‘spensive they were considerin’ how little material they actually had. Mommy almost bought us a hat. But, I’s reminded her how much we hate wearin’ hats. Ya’ know, I’s like a purretty dress as much as the next kitty, but I’s not crazy ‘bout anythin’ that covers mine’s head. It messes up mine’s purretty “fur-do”.

          Yeah Raena, you do like gettin’ all dressed up don’t ya’? Me’s sure glad you meowed mommy outta the hat tho’. Fank the cats, we don’t celebrate halloween or mommy might be tryin’ to put masks on us too.
