Hey, everypawdy, it’s me, RaenaBelle. Wha’ch’all doin’? Is it hot enuff fur ya’? Did you know that some of our furiends on the other side of the world are havin’ winter? I’s couldn’t hardly believe mine’s ears. It’s hard fur a little kitty girl to comprehend how it can be so totally different somewhere else. But sure ‘nuff, it can be.

RaenaBelle, what are you meowin’ ‘bout now? Me thought we were gonna meow some amazin’ facts ‘bout us today?. Ya’ know, me’s good furiend CK came up with more questions and we furgot to post ‘em on Blest Sunday.

Your good furiend? Don’t you mean our good furiend sissy? I’s luvs CK too.

Sure Raena, whatever. (Dezi mumbles under her breath) She was me’s furiend furst. Anyways, let’s look at the questions and see how we’re gonna divide ‘em up.

Divide ‘em up? I’s think we should both answer all the questions sissy. After all, I’s sure everypawdy wants to know the same things ‘bout both of us. I’s’ll answer furst and then you, k?

1. What’s your favorite number?

Raena: I’s don’t know that I’s have a favorite nummer…is all a nummer?

Dezi: (shakes head) Me’s favorite nummer is 1, cuz me’s birthday is on the furst day of the month that starts with two one’s, ya’ know, November, 11/1.

2. What is your dream job?

Raena: Oooooh Mine’s favorite job is bein’ mommy’s Service Cat. I’s luvs spendin’ time with mommy helpin’ her and gettin’ luvvin’ all, there it is, mine’s favorite nummer, the time. Don’t you sissy?

Dezi: Yep Raena, me luvs bein’ mommy’s little helper too. But me thinks me would also like to be a famous actor or writer. Ya’ know, me would like to see me’s name in lights.

Raena: Ooooh yeah, me too sissy. I’s wanna be famous too. I’s wanna be just like you.

Dezi: (Dezi whines) RaenaBelle…

3. What is something no one would ever guess about you?

Raena: Even tho’ I’s wanna be just like sissy and do everythin’ she does, I’s an Alpha kitty all the way.

Dezi: You are at that Raena. And as much as mommy wanted me to be the Alpha when sis Lexi went to heaven, all me wanted to do was be mommy’s little baby girly. Me didn’t wanna be in charge fur nuffin’.

4. A trait you have that people would be shocked to know about you?

Raena: Well, I’s guess you could call me a bit of a pest…Sometimes.

Dezi: Sometimes? Hmmmpht Me couldn’t really care less ‘bout treats. Ifin we get ‘em that’s great, ifin we don’t, me doesn’t miss ‘em.

Raena: That’s not a shocker sissy, everypawdy already knows that.

Dezi: Okay Raena. Well, sometimes, me sets Raena up to get in trouble. MOL (Dezi starts rolling around and laughing while Raena looks at her with shock on her face)

Raena: Really sissy? That’s not very nice. Why would you do that?

Dezi: Movin’ right along Raena. We need to answer the rest of these questions.

5. Do you think aliens are real?

Raena: Aliens? Hmmmm I’s don’t know what that is, so I’s s’pose I’s don’t think aliens are real.

Dezi: The only real aliens are the illegal kind.

6. Can you use a hooded litter box?

Raena: I’s use the Litter Robot. It doesn’t have a hood really, it’s more of a spaceship. But we do have a hooded pawtty box that we also use.

Dezi: What Raena meowed. Me purrfurs a covered pawtty box fur sure. It’s the only way to get any purrivacy ’round here.

7. Guilty pleasure?

Raena: Guilty purrleasure? Hmmmm Is that somethin’ dirty or naughty?

Dezi: (Dezi laughs at Raena) Pepperoni pizza. Altho’ we haven’t had one of those in so long me can barely ‘member what it tastes like.

8. If the world ends (as you know it) do you want to survive?

Raena: I’s would only wanna survive ifin mommy and sis Dezi were still with me.

Dezi: Yep, me too. Me wouldn’t wanna survive without mommy. And yes, me would even want the little pest to be with us too.

Raena: Aaaaaaaaaaaaw Fanky fank you sissy. I’s knew you luvv… (Raena goes to hug Dezi)

Dezi: Ugh, Get off me, Raena. Don’t let it go to your head.

9. Do you have any outstanding markings?

Raena: I’s a bicolored Ragdoll that’s also a tortie. I’s have one orange striped in the middle of mine’s furhead, and an orange tipped ear.

Can ya’ see it?

Dezi: Me’s a Lynx point Ragdoll who’s also a tortie and me has an orange patch on the top of me’s head and stripes on me’s arms and legs.

Ain’t me purretty?

10. Favorite kitten game that you played?

Raena: I’s still a kitten and I’s think every game is fun. Mine’s favorites are the ‘lectric ones. I’s so luvs turnin’ ‘em on and off. MOL

Dezi: Me’s favorite game is anythin’ that involves mommy. Me luvs “gonna ge’cha’”.

11. Do you purr to yourself?

Raena: Sure I’s do. It makes me feel better.

Dezi: Yep, me purrs a lot.

12. Milk or Tuna juice?

Raena: Neither. I’s actually never tried either of them.

Dezi: Does ice cream count?

Ice cream? When did you get ice cream sissy? I’s just luvs purr-layin’ these kinds of games sissy. I’s luvs learnin’ more ‘bout our furiends. I’s hope lots of bloggers play along.

Isn’t sis Lexi bootyful? The canvas is still wrapped in

plastic till mommy decides where to hang it. That’s why it’s shiny like that.

Me too Raena. That actually reminds me ‘bout a give away we won from our pawsum furiend Cody. A while back he was givin’ away a purrsonalized canvas from Petsy. Mommy was really torn ‘bout who to put on it, but she decided to memorialize sis Lexi fur her birthday. Anyways, we got our canvas last week and it looks so purretty. Mommy luvs it. Fanks again fur the oppurrtunity to win such a pawsum purrize, Cody.

It sure is bootyful sissy. Now mommy needs to have one made of us. Ya’ know, we better wrap this up and go finish brekky.

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. Let me tell ya’, soimethin’ is goin’ on ‘round here. I’s not quite figgered it all out yet, but I’s gonna get to the bottom of it soon. Hey, sissy, are we goin’ on another trip? Are we movin’? What’s goin’ on and why is mommy tearin’ the house apawrt?

No, Raena, we’re not movin’. And other than your trip to the V-E-T tomorrow, we’re not goin’ on any trips either. We’ve already meowed ‘bout this tho’. Don’t you ‘member us meowin’ ‘bout the garage sale mommy was gonna be havin’? Well, it’s this weekend, so that means she’s gotta get everythin’ out that she’s gonna put in the sale.

Where’d all this stuffs come from? I’s never seen some of these things. Y, I’s thinkin’ we could have lots of fun playin’ in some of this.

Yeah Raena, we might could. But, ifin mommy gets rid of enuff of that stuff, we might get to play in the closet. Ya’ know, the Furbidden room beyond the closed door in the bedroom.

The closet Furbidden Room sissy? Really? Have you ever been in there?

Yeah Raena, a couple of times when me was really young. Me barely ‘members it, but me was actually trapped in there once. Me could hear mommy callin’ me but me was on a great adventure and didn’t want her to find me, so me didn’t answer. There was all these little hidey spots everywhere. It was so much fun…well it was till the lights went out. Once it got dark me wanted out and fast. Me meowed and squeaked and squealed till mommy furinally heard me and came to me’s rescue. Guess you could say mommy’s rescued me more than once.

That sounds purretty scary sissy. Kind’a like the time I’s got stuck behind all that stuffs in the corner of the bedroom. I’s not sure I’s wanna go on an adventure in the closet Furbidden Room.

Sure you do Raena, we’re cats. We always wanna go where we’re not s’posed too, ‘specially ifin the door is closed. (Dezi thinks for a minute and gets an idea. If she can get Raena locked in the closet, she could have a nice peaceful nap. Then she remembers how frantic mommy A gets when she can’t find the girls and decides she better not trick Raena. But, if it were to happen by accident…) Well, we’ll see. We’ll just have to wait and see ifin mommy actually leaves the door open.

Okay sissy. I’s’ll go in there ifin you do. (Raena thinks to herself that if they get in trouble, she can always tell mommy A it was sis Dezi’s fault.) Guess I’s better go watch mommy to see ifin she leaves the door open. And maybe I’s can play in all the stuffs she’s pullin’ out of there fur now. Wanna play hide and seek sissy?

Sure Raena, you hide furst and me will come and find you…(whispers) maybe.

Okay sissy, close your eyes and count to 10. But don’t fall asleep!!!

Chatting Cats: They Better Not Get Any Funny Ideas

Hey, Is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. And it’s Summer time!!! Kittens is it hot here. There was a few rain showers yesfurday that mommy said brought some cooler winds, but she said ultimately those showers were gonna make it hotter than ever cuz of somethin’ called humidity. I’s don’t know much ‘bout humidity but mommy thinks it makes mine’s eyes gunk up more than normal.

Yep Raena, so much so that me heard mommy on the fone with Dr. C. ‘Pawrently she’s plannin’ on takin’ you in fur some tests or somethin’. Me heard her tell him that she didn’t know what ya’ll needed to do but somethin’ had to be done and she wasn’t takin’ we don’t know fur an answer. Me does know that it really bothers mommy when you look up at her and can’t open your eyes fur all the gunk. You might not can see it, but me sees her cryin’. And those ain’t the happy tears.

I’s don’t like it when mommy cries the sad tears sissy, and I’s fur sure don’t like to be the reason. I’s don’t know why mine’s eyes gunk so much but I’s wish they’d stop. Ya’ know, some days they seem fine and others, I’s just can’t see nuffin’. I’s kind’a hope the doctor can figger out why that is. ‘Course, I’s don’t plan on makin’ it easy fur ‘em. After all, it is the V-E-T. MOL I’s’ll meow ya’ another thing too, they bestest not be gettin’ any ideas ‘bout stickin’ no thermometer anywhere near mine’s nether regions. Maybe I’s could manage to cover mine’s bloomers in some of that smelly clay litter we tried out last month. Once that stuffs dries they’d need a sledge hammer to get anywhere near me. MOL

RaenaBelle!!! (Dezi and Raena laugh while thinking about the VET staff trying to clean off dried clay from their rabbity fine bloomer furs.) Me doesn’t think they’ll be takin’ your tempurrture. That is at the other end of the purroblem after all. Me’s purretty sure that has nuffin’ to do with your eyes. But, by all means, give ‘em what fur ifin ya’ see ‘em appurrchin’ with one of those thermometers. Ya’ might wanna watch out fur claw clippers too. Even tho’ mommy thinks the VET charges too much she might have ‘em clip your claws while you’re there.

No Way sissy. Why would she ever do that? She clips mine’s claws purrlenty, I’s fur sure don’t need some silly tech who doesn’t know me clippin’ ‘em.

That’s the truth Raena. Mommy had ‘em clip me’s claws once and that didn’t work out very well fur ‘em. She even had ‘em put those soft paws on me once…well, Dr. C tried. Me let him know in no uncertain terms that wasn’t happenin’. He gave up after the furst one. Mommy siad he charged a furtune fur his tryin’ and she came home and put the rest on me in a matter of minutes. They didn’t work out so good tho’ and so we definitely don’t recommend ‘em. We purrfur that peeps purrvide their kitties with purrlenty of scratchin’ options ‘stead.

I’s don’t think I’s would like those soft paws either sissy. Sorry they were bad fur ya’, but I’s pawfully glad mommy doesn’t recommend ‘em anymore. So, since you’re the one with all the infurmation, just when am I’s s’posed to go see the doctor? Maybe I’s can eat a spider and be too sick to go.

Do you know how stupid that sounds Raena? Too sick to go to the doctor?

That’s not nice sissy. You know how mommy hates that word. Just cuz of that I’s might decide not to share mine’s special treat with you.

What special treat , Raena? We don’t have any treats, mommy said so. We haven’t gotten treats since your birthday.

Don’t furget the pawrty you purromissed mommy.

That may be true sissy, but ‘member how mommy said ifin we had a small birthday pawrty fur me we’d really whoop it up fur mine’s gotchaday? It just so happens, mine’s Gotchday is this Furiday. Yep, I’s been here with you and mommy fur 2 whole years now. And you purromissed to make mine’s pawrty a pawrty to ‘member. So, wha’ch’a got planned? And it better be good.

Oh, Well, Me’s furgot. Ya’ know Furidays are our Service Cat postys.

Then you better get to thinkin’ sissy, cuz I’s gonna be x’pectin’ somethin’ outta this world. ‘Specially ifin I’s have to go to the V-E-T this week.

Well, guess me better go have a nap and see what comes to me.

I’s gonna go ask mommy fur somethin’ special to celebrate with. (Raena looks over at mommy A trying to drink a cup of coffee after having cleaned up a few messes she and Dezi had made before breakfast) Maybe I’s’ll just wait till she finishes her coffee.

Blest Sunday: Sisterly Meanderings

MeOW C’mon RaenaBelle, it’s Blest Sunday. And do we ever have the Blessings to give Fanks fur. Me just luvs givin’ Fanks, don’t you?

Yep sissy, I’s do, cuz it means we have another day to lives and luvs. Looks like Summer arrived and kicked Spring on down the road. I’s guess that’s okay tho’, mommy said Spring wouldn’t be stayin’ long. It’s turned really hot and there’s been lots of fun teevee to watch from mine’s purrch. Y, I’s saw birdy’s and wasps and bunnies last week. Mommy says the waspys are dangerous and she’s always sprayin’ somethin’ outside to make ‘em go away. They must not be too smart tho’, cuz they just keep comin’ back fur more.

Yep Raena, mommy’s ‘lergic to waspys, so that’s why she’s always tryin’ to shoo ‘em off. Now where did you see those bunnies? Me didn’t see any bunnies.

They were right outside sissy, eatin’ the grass and flowers. There’ll be more bunnies to see, don’t worry summer’s furinally here. In the meantime, we oughtta give fanky fanks fur the nice weather and all our furiends.

Me is fankful fur the nice warm weather Raena. And of course me’s always fankful fur our furiends. Meowin’ of furiends, mommy got a birthday card last week from awnty Mary Beth and uncle Garth. And they also included a card from Gizmo and the rest of the furry family. Mommy thought that was just the sweetest thing ever.

Ain’t that the truth sissy?. She also got a card and some green papers yesfurday from one of our Anonymous awnties, that made her smile. Actually, I’s think it was more of a big o’l grin rather than a smile. Mommy’s kind’a embarrassed right now cuz she doesn’t have a tooth in her mouth.

Oh Raena meowin’ of mommy’s toothlessness, she had furgotten till recently that she had to renew her driver’s license befur the end of May. Ya’ know license fotos aren’t meant to be purrtraits, but mommy’s always gotten all purrettied up fur the foto anyways. Ya’ know she paints her face and fixes her hair and gets ready to pose and smile her big teeth showin’ smile. But, this year she doesn’t have any teeth fur that smile, so when she sat down to have her foto taken, all she could do was grin. She looks so funny, kind’a like a blowfish or somethin’.

Sissy, that’s not very nice of you to compare mommy to a blowfish. Besides, how do you even know what a blowfish looks like?

C’mon Raena, mommy knows she looks funny without any teethies. Her lips have all but disappeared. She keeps pushin’ ‘em out cuz she says skinny lips mean she’s gettin’ old. And you know how much mommy hates lookin’ old. MOL

That’s the truth sissy, she blames every wrinkle and gray hair on us. I’s can’t ‘magine why she would even think such a thing.

Me neither Raena. Oh well, we’ll think ‘bout that tomorrow. Me wonders how many of our furiends might be the cause of their peeps wrinkles and gray hairs? Anyways, we wanna Fank all our furiends fur their luv and fur sharin’ their lives with us.
