Blest Sunday: A New Old Window

Hey Raena, will you quit playin’ fur a minute and come help me write our Blest Sunday posty!!!

But sissy, can’t you see what’s goin’ on? Look’it all this extra room we have now. And check out this new window we have to look out. What does it mean? Are we movin’ or somethin’?

Yes, me sees it Raena. And no, we’re not movin’. We didn’t get that lucky. MOL And, that window’s been there all along. You ‘member befur mr. W died he had bought this little freezer fur storin’ eatables. Well, he never used it and when he died, his furmily didn’t want it, so they gave it to us. ‘Course, we couldn’t use it either cuz we already had a big chest freezer that mommy couldn’t get in to. And, cuz of the bad wirin’ in our ‘pawrtment mommy didn’t wanna plug both freezers in and chance an outage. Mommy’s been wantin’ to sell that old chest freezer fur years, but couldn’t even get to it to take fotos. Well, the new old neighbors that helped mommy with the car, wanted that old monstrosity. So mommy gave it to them fur helpin’ her with the car, and they came to get it yesfurday. That’s why everythin’ was moved outta the dinin’ room and some things got boxed up.

Now where’d that cat tree go? It was here just a few minutes ago.

I’s kind’a liked the brown cat tree bein’ in the hall. I’s got to see all kinds of new things sissy. Did you know ifin you paw at that round thing (smoke alarm) hangin’ on the wall long enuff it would scream like that? It sure was loud.

Yep Raena, and it sure scared mommy. Me doesn’t think you were s’posed to be pawin’ at stuffs on the wall. Fankfully, the new old neighbors put the house back together befur they left. And, mommy furinally got to plug in that new little freezer.

Wha’d’ya’ reckon mommy’s gonna put in it sissy?

Who knows Raena. Me’s just glad we got rid of that giant space taker. It had been a blessing that stayed far past it’s due date.

But, a blessin’ is a blessin’ sissy, and we’re fur sure blest kitties. So far, the car seems to be doin’ well. I’s heard mommy on the fone with the dentist office the other day makin’ a ‘pointment to get her teethies re-lined. Her mouth is healin’ right up. She’ll be in her purrmanent dentures befur we know it. Fanky fank the cats and all our angels, that bill has been paid in full.

You know what that means don’cha Raena? Ifin the car holds out, you’ll be goin’ to the V E T soon.

Yeah, I’s not lookin’ furward to that sissy, but I’s reckon, ifin mommy thinks it’s necessary, then I’s must need to go. Besides, I’s been sneezin’ a lot and mine’s eyes are really gettin’ gobbed up. Mommy says it looks like I’s have some allergy purroblems like her.

Me’s noticed that Raena. Me sure hopes they can give ya’ somethin’ to make you feel all better. We’re blest to have a mommy who cares ‘bout us so much. We’re also blest to have such pawsum furiends. Meowin’ of furiendly blessings, we wanna say fank you to uncle Pete, Timmy and the gang fur sendin’ us a few green papers to get us a little treat. With everythin’ that’s been goin’ on here lately, we’d all been a little blue and money’s been a little tighter than normal. We also wanna fank awnty Vonda fur sendin’ some green papers too.

Yep sissy, things have been tight. Mommy’s been countin’ our food nuggets and sayin’ she sure purrays we have enuff to get by till our auto ship ships. I’s sure hope that doesn’t mean we’re gonna run outta noms sissy. What would we eat?

Blest Sunday: Southern Hospitality Only Goes So Far

MeOW Raena, it’s time fur Blest Sunday.

Sure ‘nuff sissy. And have we ever been Blessed. As most of ya’ know, we recently had visitors. Today, we’re gonna wrap up that visit. Ifin ya’ missed pawrt 1, you can read it here. Now, let’s get on with our visit.

Hey Gizmo, mine’s name is RaenaBelle.

We’ve had several peeps remawrk ‘bout how well we did havin’ Gizmo the kitty visit with us Raena. We should admit that there was a couple of hisses and one growl. We’re not meowin’ who did the hissin’ or the growlin’, since there was no fightin’ or whacky paws involved. Mommy says it was mostly pawsturin’ and lettin’ each other know when one was a bit too close fur comfurt. Ya’ know, it may be our nature to sniff backsides, but that doesn’t mean the sniffee actually enjoys it. Fur the most pawrt, we had a great and uneventful visit, kitties and humans too. Our Southern hospitality shined.

Yeah sissy, awnty Mary Beth took lots of fotos of me and you with mommy. You know how happy that made mommy. She always says she doesn’t have many fotos of her with us. I’s could’a done with a good brushin’ tho’, cuz mine’s neck ruff was a bit wild. But, I’s really don’t care. I’s just luvs it when mommy holds me, ruffled furs or not.

Is that pizza? Hmmmm Now where’s mine’s plate?

Well sissy, you missed what happened next cuz of those noisy thunder boomers. Uncle Garth left fur a few minutes and when he returned, he brought in a pizza. Oh Kittens Did it ever smell delishus. But then, the worst thing that could’a happened, happened. Mommy didn’t even fix me a plate. Nope, not even a snack plate. ‘Stead, mommy, awnty Mary Beth and uncle Garth sat there eatin’ OUR PIZZA!!! Can you believe it? I’s sure couldn’t. Don’t they know that pizzas are kitty food? Not to mention, pizza is our favorite food. I’s tried to help mine’s self to a slice, but I’s couldn’t balance on the wheelchair arm and open the box at the same time. So, I’s gave ‘em the ole kitty evil eye.

Yep, that’s pizza. Yummmmmmm The smell’s divine.

Well Raena, did it work?

that comes in this house belongs to us cats?

Not very well. Least, they did leave us a piece each. Like that was gonna fill us up. Hmmmpht Even worse, mommy didn’t save us any of the pepperoni’s off the pieces she ate. I’s mean, she ate every last bite, just like we weren’t even there. The nerve. I’s tellin’ ya’, I’s just couldn’t believe mine’s own blue eyes. All mine’s Southern Belle hospitality flew right out the window when that happened. You know, Southern Hospitality can only go so far. And then, they wanted to take luvvy dovey fotos with me. Hmmmpht Like that was gonna happen. MOL

Alright awnty Mary Beth, one kiss…just one I’s said.

Oh Raena, mommy takes really good care of us. Just cuz we didn’t get 1 pizza shouldn’t make you act ugly. We did get a piece later. And besides, we luv awnty Mary Beth, uncle Garth and Gizmo. Me was very purroud of you fur sharin’ the cat tree with him. And lettin’ awnty Mary Beth and uncle Garth hold you. Me was also purroud of ya’, that you didn’t get all jealous when mommy gave Gizzy some luvvin’.

might not be so bad after all. Mommmmmmmy…?

Of course I’s didn’t get jealous sissy. After all, he never took off his jacket (harness), so I’s knew he wasn’t actually stayin’. And, I’s know mommy has purrlenty of luvvin’ to go ‘round. Cousin Gizzy seemed to like the scent me up game too. Mommy said his motor boat started right up. I’s surpurrised he didn’t float right off her lap.

Hmmmpht You know better Raena. Mommy’s hold may look gentle, but she’s got a furm grasp on any kitty she holds. They ain’t goin’ anywhere lessen she wants ‘em too. MOL Me sure hated that they had to leave so soon. Cuz of those thunder boomers, me missed sayin’ goodbye. So me looked fur them all day the next day.

Me too sissy. Our visit was way too short. I’s sure hope they can come back.

Yep Raena. Ya’ know, we never ‘magined meetin’ any of our online furiends when we started all this. But, we have been so blessed that we’ve actually met quite a few of them. We’re always up fur a visit from our amazin’ furiends and wish we could meet you all. We’re sure hopin’ we can manage to go to BlogPaws this next year. It’s really close to us, so we’d hate to miss it. You’d have a great time Raena. Sis Lexi and me really had a blast the year we went.

Ya’ know, they sent us our kitty beds, toys and green papers and all kinds of goodies thru the years. Mostly, they’ve luvved us and our mommy. We are so blest to have so many pawsum furiends. And yep, YOU, yes you readin’ this posty are one of them. Fank you so much fur bein’ a pawrt of our lives. We luv you very much. We think ‘bout and purray fur all our furiends every day, you included. Like we always do, we’d like to remind you to take a minute today and every day to give thanks fur the blessings in your life. I’s couldn’t have meowed it better mine’s self sissy. We’d also like to say, we think (paws crossed) the car’s fixed. Mommy ordered the pawrt and the neighbor boy put it on fur us this past week. Mommy’s still gotta make a few more short test drives just to be on the safe side, but we’re purretty sure, the car is good to go. We’ll keep ya’ posted. Mommy was shocked at the cost of oil and anti-freeze. So, mine’s VET ‘pointment is on hold fur a bit. Fanky fank you all fur your purrayers and good wishes. They do help. Blest Sunday: Gizzy’s Coming To Dinner

Hey Raena, hurry up. We gotta write our Blest Sunday posty and get ready.

What lit a fire under your bloomers, sissy? And what are we getting’ ready fur?

Me will just lay here and watch fur Gizzy.

(Excitedly Dezi meows) Oh Raena, we be the blestest kitties ever. We’re havin’ visitors today. One of me and sis Lexi’s furstest ever awnties and uncles are comin’ here to our ‘pawrtment, to see us!!! And guess what else? They’re bringin’ one of our furstest furiends, Gizmo. We like to call him Gizzy. He’s a sweet tuxie boy that has diabetes. Me just can’t even believe they’re comin’ all the way from Arizona to see us.

Really sissy? OMC I’s can’t hardly wait!!! We’re gonna have so much fun. Ya’ reckon we can all go fur a stroll? Or maybe we can all play on the cat tree. You are gonna come out and visit with Gizzy, right sissy?

(Flabbergasted, Dezi meows) What?! Of course me’s gonna come out and visit with ‘em.

Hmmpht We’ll see. Anyways, as we do every Blest Sunday, we’d like to remind all of you to take a minute today and every day to give thanks fur the blessings in your lives. As most of you know, our car’s been broke, the wheelchair’s broke, and we didn’t have innernet access fur a bit, so we’re way behind on our visitin’. We purromise we’ll be ‘round as soon as we can. Mommy’s just been a little overwhelmed with all that’s goin’ on and she’s not very good at helpin’ us with catputer stuffs when that happens. But, we are so grateful fur all of you. Fanky fank you all fur bein’ our furiends and understandin’.

Blest Sunday: Living the Life

Hey Raena, hurry, we need to write our Blest Sunday posty.

I’s comin’ sissy, I’s was watchin’ a squirrel out the door. Did you see him come up to the door and taunt me? He threw a rock at me.

Yeah, me saw him Raena, but that wasn’t a rock. It sounded like a rock, but it was really one of those nuts from those trees outside.

Rock, nut, either way, he was makin’ fun of me. He should be real careful ‘bout doin’ that. After all, I’s the mighty huntress of buffalo and giraffes and monkeys.

Sure you are Raena, sure you are. Me bets that squirrel is shakin’ in his fur. Anyways, we need to fank all our furiends fur purrayin’ fur us. You know how sick we were the week befur last. Mommy was even considerin’ takin’ us to the house of horrors VET. Neither of us wanted any pawrt of that. But, me does have to say, me felt so bad, me was actually thinkin’ that mommy was right and we needed to see somepawdy ‘bout our purroblem. Fankfully, all our furiends banded together to purray fur us, and we started feelin’ better right away.

We sure did, sissy. I’s sooooooooooooo glad our tummy rumbles are gone and we’re back to normal again. I’s also glad mommy gave you one last bath. you really smelled bad.

Hey, Grrrrrrrrr That’s not very nice.

It may not be nice sissy, but it’s the truth. Mommy says we both stank and needed a good bath. I’s felt lots better after mine’s bath. And, mine’s fur looked so purretty and floofy. You know, us girly’s gotta take care of ourselves. A little purrimpin’ and purreenin’ never hurt anykitty.

Yeah Raena, me felt better after me’s bath too. And, after rollin’ ‘round on mommy and the purrfumed sweet smellin’ sheets, we smelled like girls again.

Meowin’ of feelin’ better, mommy’s feelin’ better too sissy. Her gums are still healin’, but she’s feelin’ so much better. And, she’s getting’ better with those new teethies. She’s graduated from smashed taters to baked taters and other soft like foods like pasta.

Yep Raena, and she was some kind’a x’cited when she received a couple boxes this week from one of our Angels. You know how much mommy likes Cheez-its and M & M’s. Mommy was so x’cited she couldn’t wait to try out her new teethies on those Cheez-it crackers.

Did you see the cooler box sissy? It had real live sharp cheddar cheese in it. I’s sure hope mommy gives me a bite. And I’s don’t know who’s more x’cited ‘bout the Apple Zings, you or mommy?. Mommy said she couldn’t wait till she could eat cold cereal again.

Yeah Raena, me likes those Apple Zings too. They’re so much fun to bat ‘round the house. And every once in a while mommy will drop one that’s all soft and full of milk. Since us kitties are lactose intolerant, we don’t get much milk ‘round here. So, a squishy Apple Zing is a really nice treat.

Really? in that case, I’s can’t wait to try ‘em. Fanky fank you sweet Angels, we really do purreciate ya’ll sendin’ mommy some yummy noms. Mommy’s cookin’ up that turkey tom lurkey today, and she plans to make some sammiches with that pawsum bread. And I’s can’t wait fur her to eat some of those peanut butter crackers. I’s sure do like peanut butter.

Me too Raena. Turkey tom lurkey and peanut butter…what a life. We are such blest kitties. And mommy says we have another surpurrise comin’ our way in a couple weeks. Me can’t wait to see what it is.

Another surpurrise? When did you hear that sissy? What do ya’ reckon it is?

Ifin me knew Raena, it wouldn’t be a surpurrise. Just know that it’s gotta be good cuz mommy’s x’cited and said we gotta clean house. We are so fankful fur all our furiends. Hey sissy, this weekend is a long one, cuz of a holiday. We also wanna remind everypawdy to be safe and don’t drink and drive. And ‘member, us anipals don’t always enjoy human celebrations.
