Veteran’s Day: Thank You For Your Service

Hey everypawdy, it’s me, RaenaBelle. We wouldn’t normally post today, but it’s a very special day, so we had to come and have our say. Today is Veteran’s day here in the U.S., a day set aside to remember those who serve in the armed forces. Those who protect our lives, liberty and freedoms. Those who keep us safe and say, “As long as I’m here, you can sleep safely at night.”

That’s right Raena. And to be honest, writin’ these posts is not an easy task fur us. We see the words Happy Veteran’s Day everywhere, and quite frankly, we don’t know what’s so happy about it. Happy implies good times and great joy, but there’s nothing joyful about fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers shipping off to some foreign land to kill or be killed. Or suiting up and putting their lives at risk for those of us who can’t.

Oh sissy, we are so grateful fur those who serve. And, we remember them every day. We live in the greatest country on the planet because so many are/were willing to fight and sacrifice to ensure the very freedoms we often take fur granted. The freedoms so many are tryin’ to take away from us these days. Ifin the founding fathers were to see what’s goin’ on today, I’s think they would be ashamed and saddened that so many have furgotten the sacrifices made to give us our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and freedom from tyranny.

So true Raena. Our eyes fill with tears when we think about those who can’t be with their families because they’re keeping us and our way of life safe. Those who will never know us nor us them, but fight fur us just the same. Patriotism is alive and well in our hearts and home and we purray daily fur all who serve and fur those among us who have lost their way.

Freedom isn’t Free. Purrlease, remember the blood that was and is shed to make this country great. To all who serve, we salute you and we thank you and your families fur your sacrifice. You are always in our purrayers.

We urge every one to remember to thank any vet you may encounter. Whether you agree with the war or conflict they may have fought in, they do/did so willingly so you wouldn’t have too. So that you could sleep safely in your bed at night. So you could disagree with those in power, speak out your opinions, good or bad, worship the way you choose, and yes, bear arms so that our government can’t return to the tyrannical rule the original settlers fled from.

Dezi and Raena thank Vets for their service

We say, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!

  1. I didn’t comprehend the extent of the sacrifice until I sat down with a girl who’d served in Iraq. She drank and was suicidal. I thanked her for her service and she broke down in tears. She proceeded to tell me that her entire life she wanted to be a mother. But after an incident over there where she had to order her people to shoot a kid, she just couldn’t. She told me about her nieces and nephews that she couldn’t bear to be around. I think about her and pray for her quite a bit. We might know some of what these heroes sacrifice – but we can never comprehend how a life is so quickly changed until it happens to us. The worst part was that the VA had her on a waiting list – for a SUPPORT GROUP! This woman was SUICIDAL! She couldn’t get care. That’s disgusting to me. God bless these amazing service members who sacrifice so we never have to know what it’s like.
