Well it’s Monday and meez been teasin’ you all ‘bout meez give away fur a while now. Meez tellin’ ya’, everypawdy needs one of these. Ifin there’s a head of hair or a body of fur in yous house, then pull up a chair and let me tell ya’ all ‘bout it.
Let me tell you ’bout this aaaaaaah groomin’ tool.
Every furry out there needs sum groomin’. And there’s all kinds of tools out there fur helpin’ to get rid of mats and tangles and loose furs. And ifin yous like meez human yous purrobably tried more than a few of them. And purrobably ended up spendin’ a small fortune only to have your long haired furry run and hide or fight with you the whole time. Me purrsonally hates bein’ groomed. And mommy sez fank catness fur meez special Ragdoll fur udderwise me wuld be a matted mess. Dat is till recently. We received this pawsum groomin’ tool called da Groom Genie. Mommy gave it a once over and checked out da website and didn’t give it much fawt.
A few days later when me was layin’ in hers lap, mommy membered receivin’ it and reached over to pick it up. Me saw it, but it didn’t look like a typical brush or comb so me laid meez head back down and this time, me didn’t give it much fawt. Mommy then gently put it on meez back and stawrted brushin’ me wiff it. Oh me cats and kittens it felt sooooooo good. Me stawrted purrin’ and then da slobber came. Me was in groomin’ heaven. Me fawt to meez selff, “so this is why sis Lexi gets all beside hers selff when mommy brushes her fur.” Me just kuldn’t get enuff. There was no pullin’ or scwatchin’ just a nice massage. It’s made of plastic and has soft flexible bristles in diffewent sizes. It’s ergonamically crafted fur ease of use by yous human. Although mommy sez she wishes there was a strap to give her awfur-ritic hands a better grip, it’s still easy to handle. Me gives da Groom Genie 4 paws and a floofy tail up.

Sis Lexi likes every brush and comb mommy’s ever brought home, so she didn’t weally need to twy out da Groom Genie, but wantin’ to be fair and all, mommy used it on her too. She purred and cooed and drooled too. She sez she gives it all paws up and then sum. So now you’re askin’ yous selff what duz mommy weally fink, wight? Well let me let her tell ya’.
Thank you Dezi. Every long haired cat I have had the pleasure of knowing has hated being brushed, and Dezi was no exception. Yes she does have non matting fur but she still sheds and thus causes hairballs. And my poor baby looks horrified when she’s trying to get up a hairball. She has these projectiles that can go clear across the room. So matting or no, she needs to be brushed. It’s often done while she’s growling her displeasure and trying to bite the brush/comb. I didn’t expect anything different with the Groom Genie. But to my surprise, she loved it. No growls, no biting, no hisses, no protests of any kind. Instead she was offering spots to be combed and purring so loud I couldn’t hear the t.v. It removes dead fur easily and cleans effortlessly. I loved it too.
But it doesn’t stop there. They make one of these groomers for humans too. It’s called the Knot Genie. I have naturally curly hair that knots up like crazy. I pull out handfuls every time I pull a comb or brush through it. I mentioned that I needed to get one of the Knot Genies for myself and a few days later it was here. It not only works, but it doesn’t pull on my scalp and cause pain. Where was this when I was a kid? We all love the Groom Genie and Knot Genie here and think everyone needs at least one of these.
Fanks mommy. Weez so ‘cited cuz we have da oppurrtunity to give one away. It’s open to all residents of da U.S. and Canada. It’s anudder Monday and da mumff is goin’ by fast. Christmas will be here afur yous know it and so will da cooler wevver. Our weekend was purretty busy here. It stawrted on Furiday night when me planned to earn meez Campfire tails badge at Cat Scouts by tellin’ da stowry of flat scouts’ Izzy and Tristy;’s travels. Me had been wantin’ to earn this badge fur a while but since mommy’s bwain dusn’t work so good at tellin’ tales me was just too nervous to twy. When we ‘cided to do these stowries me fawt it was da purrfect time. And when Scout Charles suggested it; dat just confurmed it was time. Me didn’t make a big fuss and da wesult was dat not many scouts turned out fur meez stowry tellin’ time. Meez sweet Andy showed up to support me and scout Pete H came by too. Foxy’s daddy, unkle Edward dwopped by cuz hims was missin’ Foxy. Member we wrote dat they was bein’ displaced. Foxy has gone to stay wiff scout Charles fur a bit till unkle Edward can find them a place to live.
Cat Scouts awe so pawsum. You offen read posts all over Blogville ‘bout da fun and games we have. And we sure do have a lot of them. Us scouts know how to have a good time. But there’s anudder side of Cat Scouts dat we don’t talk ‘bout offen, and dat’s da serious side. Mommy’s been a little unner da wevver since late Caturday so me told her she kuld take a bweak fwum da finkin’ posties today and let me tell y’all a little more ‘bout Cat Scouts. Weez wecently had quite a few new scouts join up. And dat’s pawsum. Lots of us scouts invite kitties when we write ‘bout our fun activities. And there’s not a fing wrong wiff joinin’ up to have fun. But dat’s not all Cat Scouts is about and Den Master has had to add sum new rules fur new members so they’ll unnewstand dat there’s a lot more to scouts than pawrties.
One of our new scouts Daedalus made this fur me.
Cat Scouts take helpin’ udders very serious. Every mumff scouts send birffday cawds and holiday cawds to peeps in hospitals and homes. And member last Christmas when sissy and me got purresents fwum Angel Scouts? Wiffout those pawsum scouts sis Lexi and me wuldn’t have had much in da way of purresents. Now meez not sayin’ we have to have purresents, cuz we got da bestest purresent ever when we got a home wiff mommy. But me will also tell ya’ dat it sure was nice. We also have a chapel where we list purrayer wequests. And we all take dat seriously. And it’s not just udder scouts dat get purrayed fur. Weez all post da needs of all our furmily and furiends. We have quests a few times a year. We do have fun, but quests also teaches us fings. We learn fings like how to work togevver, and how to take care of our planet. We learn fings ‘bout udder kuntwies flags and ideals. We learn ‘bout what flowers and plants be okay fur us kitties and what be dangerwous in our botany tests.
Meez a face painted clown fur da cawrnival
A pawsum face painted me
We awe there fur each udder and twy to help one anudder any way we can. Sumtimes dat means a purrayer or word of encouragement. Several of meez fellow scouts have helped wiff sis Lexi’s meds and VET visits and foods. And sumtimes it’s more. Like scout Charles openin’ hims home to Foxy so she wuldn’t have to go to da shelter and kuld be weunited wiff hers daddy. These awe real fings. Altho’ most of da fings we do at scouts is virtual, we do make a diffewence in da real world too. Ifin yous just joinin’ Cat Scouts yous’ll need to get a unifurm wiffin’ da furst week. Dat’s no purroblem; our Sewmaster scout Gracie can whip you up a customized unifurm complete wiff badges in no time. Speakin’ of badges, yous’ll need to earn a few shortly after joinin’ up. But hey, dat’s easy. Most of ya’ have fotos alweady in yous awrsenal. Da furst badge me earned was da Meatloaf. Most kitties have at least one meatloaf foto hangin’ wound.
Da Ferris wheel at da Cat Scouts Cawrnival.
And lastly, new scouts must pick a patwol. We all have fun hangin’ wound da campfire but a patwol is a smaller gwoup compwised of a leader and udder members. These patwols work togevver on fings like da quests and makin’ floats and booffs fur cawrnivals and such. They help to keep all of da scouts infurmed when one of their members has a need. So Cat Scouts is a fun place fur kitties, but it’s also a pawsum place to gwo and learn to be better cats and cat peeps. It’s da “be all you can be” place fur cats. Ifin yous lookin’ fur a place to belong and be supported and gwo, Cat Scouts just might be da place fur you. So just click here and head on over. Me will see ya’ at da campfire.
Andy and me takin’ a memowy foto at da cawrnival
Me also wanted to tell ya’ bout a few fings comin’ up on meez bloggy. We have a pawsum weview and give away comin’ soon. And guess what? Meez give away is gunna be open to all wesidents of da USA and Canada. And it’s sumfin’ every house wiff a pet needs. Weez also got more twainin’ and flat scout stowries to tell. And…mommy just might be duin’ a little weview of hers own here. So stay tuned cuz yous not wanna miss anyfin’.
Here we awe wiff anudder epawsode of da adventures of Izzy and Tristy (aka: Flat Scout Dezi and Flat Scout Christy Paws). When last you caught up wiff our little flat lionesses Christy told da stowry of their twavels to Canada to visit Shoko and Kali where they had a blast. Click on da names in red above ifin yous missed those stories. Anyways, da girls had a gweat time and sed their goodbyes and headed off fur da states again to visit meez wunnewful, handsum mancat Andy in Ohio. Now me knows yous gunna wanna hear all ‘bout dat visit, so be here next Caturday. And weez even got a surpwise fur ya’ dat weez’ll tell ya’ ‘bout then. Be sure and mawk yous calendars. So today meez gunna tell ya’ all ‘bout da adventurwous journey Izzy and Tristy had getting’ to Andy’s house.
This is all da scouts visitin’ when we left. L-R: Pete, Izzy, Tristy, Timmy, Meiko, Buddy Budd, Einstein, and Shoko (Foko)
We sed our goodbyes to Shoko and Kali and all da udder flats dat was visitin’. Shoko’s mommy had been so pawsum and fixed us up sum lunches and snacks fur our twip. We had taken da twain and da bus on our way, but we had weally wanted to see sum of Canada so we ‘cided take our time and camp out a few nights. Me used to go horseback ridin’ wiff mommy and Christy has a horse so we rented a couple horses and a pack mule and headed off to see a little of Canada on our way back to da States. We left wound noon on Caturday afur last and rode till it stawrted getting’ dawrk. We found a nice quiet awea by a stweam to make camp fur da night. We watered da horses and mule and unpacked da tent we had rented as well. We was very furtunate to find a rancher willin’ to come to da border and pick up hims horses afur we cwossed over. Tristy pitched da tent as me gathered wood and made da fire.
Finally our tent pitched, our horses and mule hitched Tristy and me settled in to check out da pawsum meal awnty Jean had sent wiff us and talk ‘bout all we had seen dat day. We had a meal fit fur queens, rather lionesses; and regaled da booty of Canada. There was so many twees and gweenery. And we had seen lots of birds and wabbits along da way. Da peeps we encountered when we went fwu towns was so nice. We took a bweak in a little town earlier to water da horses and met up wiff sum weally furiendly kitties.
Tristy: They were real nice Izzy. You know lots of Canadian cats spend time outside as well as in. We saw that while staying with Shoko too. I don’t know that I would want mom to shut me outside. I like to be the house with all my toys and trees and family too much.
Izzy: Yeah Tristy they was weally cool and all but it’s just too dangerwous fur us to be outside like dat. They seemed to enjoy eatin’ stwange noms at differwent houses, but me likes to know where mommy is when me eats. And you know wiff all meez fur it gets kinda hot outside. Me wuld miss da a/c too much. It sure was nice of awnty Jean to send us wiff these pawsum noms fur tonight. What do you fink we oughtta hunt fur tomowwos meal?
Tristy: It was Izzy. I was kind of thinking we might have to have a couple of Canadian rabbits before we leave. What do you think?
Izzy: Me finks dat’s a gweat idea Tristy. There sure seems to be purrlenty wound here. Guess we oughtta turn in fur da night so we can get an early stawrt tomowwo.
We boff sed goodnight and crawled in da tent and fell fast asleep. Me dweamed of ketchin’ wabbits and of seein’ meez handsum Andy. Da next meownin’ we boff rose early and bein’ da good scouts we awe, we put out our fire and cleaned up da campsite so yous kuldn’t even tell we had been there. ‘Cept fur dat one spot. We kuldn’t wesist and had cawrved our names into one of da twees. Me sure hopes Den Master dusn’t give us a demotion fur dat, we just kuldn’t help ourselves. We pasked up and headed off. This wuld be our last day and night in da wilds of Canada.
We twaveled most of da day enjoyin’ our time in Canada. But as night approached we stawrted lookin’ fur a place to camp and keepin’ our eyes out fur those wascally wabbits. We finally came upon a small clearin’ wiff a nice little waterin’ hole and ‘cided to make camp there fur da night. We got set up and then went on da prowl fur dinner. We cwouched low to da gwound and caught wind of a wabbit by da waterin’ hole. We worked togevver like a kupple of weal lionesses wuld. We inched closer and closer and then spwang and took down a kupple wabbits in one pounce. We carried them back to our camp and cleaned ‘em up and hung ‘em on da spit. We put da hide and fur in our saddle bags fur a later purroject. As we ate da fwuits (wabbits) of our furst hunt togevver we chatted ‘bout da fun we had and how we kuldn’t wait to get acwoss da border and on to Andy’s house da next day. This wuld be one of their longest twips since most of da scouts live in da states.
Da next meownin’ da two little lionesses awoke early and cleaned up their campsite and headed off to meet wiff da nice rancher who wuld be takin’ da horses and mule back. Fwum there they caught a ride wiff a nice twucker and hims doggy on into Ohio. Da twucker was so nice he even dwove them wight up to Andy’s house. As Izzy and Tristy waved goodbye da ‘citement began to overtake Izzy. In a few short minutes she was gunna be starin’ at sweet Andy in da fur. Da girls stood at da door and looked at each udder afur knockin’. They wunnerwed just what adventures awaited them beyond da door. Finally Izzy reached her paw up and knocked, and…………………………..Join us every week fur da continuin’ saga of our little flat Lionesses on da Prowl.
Well now cwazy days awe here again. Yesfurday we visited and then twied to write up meez twainin’ posty fur today and we worked on meez cweative Flat Fursday posty too. Can you believe it? We was gunna be a whole day ahead again. Duwin’ da flood last year we actually was able to stay a day or two ahead. When our puter cwashed and da innewnet went out fur days, we got behind and now we just write meez posties everyday. Mommy got tired and fell asleep at da puter afur puttin’ da fotos in meez posty and schedulin’ it last night, so this meownin’ we went stwaight to da Live writer to finish it up. Sumfin’ kept naggin’ at mommy and so she ‘cided to check da emails afur we finished up meez posty and OMC is me ever glad we did. Cuz today be Mo’ Cats Day!!! Well now we fur sure didn’t wanna miss dat.
Pawently it’s sumfin’ dat happened afur we even had a puter and was online, but weez here now and wanna support all our kitty furiends. So da stowry goes sumfin’ like this: way back in 2009 on September da 9ff sumpawdy out there (a cat hater to be sure) declared dat day to be No cats day. See? Had to be a cat hater. Anyways, our very own Little Isis fwum da Cat Blogospere (by da way, fanks fur all you do) sed, “Hmmmmpht I’m not havin’ that!!” And she declared it to be Mo’ Cats Day and flooded da innewnets wiff kitties. Yep dat’s wight, us cats do have a spine. And claws too, so don’t mess wiff da cat. MOL So mommy went into da foto apps and multiplied sis Lexi and me into more cats fur Mo’ Cats Day.
Come back tomowwo fur our furst twy at cweative writin’ and join me Furiday fur anudder pawsum twainin’ stowry. We have a big surpwise fur ya’ dat day.
