Meowllo everypawdy, it’s finally Furiday. Today we’re gonna talk ‘bout our pawdee boxes. Yep dat’s right, me said our pawdee boxes. Your all wonderin’ why, cuz you know me likes me’s purrivacy, and we haven’t told ya’ anythin’ ‘bout Raena’s pawdee box habits. Well, let me ‘splain. We recently got to try a new litter, and well ya’ know litter goes in pawdee boxes. Most of ya’ know dat we’ve tried a few litters but we always go back to da same thing mommy’s been usin’ fur over 20 years. So, let me tell ya’ ‘bout this new litter we tried. And stay tuned, cuz 7 Pets is lettin’ me have a mega pawsum give away.

Furst, let me tell ya’ ‘bout little Raena’s pawdee box habits. Or should me say, lack of. You know we told ya’ dat when mommy picked her up she and da place reeked of urine. Mommy was told dat she was usin’ da cheapest nastiest litter on da market, altho’ mommy didn’t see any such pawdee box anywhere. Never fear, mommy’s never had a kitty turn their nose up at our regular litter. Well guess what? Raena used da piddle pad ‘stead of da pawdee box. Oh she got in da pawdee box alright, but stead of doin’ her business, she wanted to play. Yuck Can you ‘magine a kitty playin’ in da pawdee box? Disssssgustin’!!!

   It was clean sissy. What’s so disgustin’ ‘bout dat?

Oh Raena, clean or not, ya’ don’t play where ya’, well, you know.

   But I didn’t, you know, so it was like a clean sand box.

Anyways, mommy finally got Raena to use da pawdee box so when it came time to try da new litter, she got a bit nervous. You know, was she gonna turn back da clock to when Raena wouldn’t use da pawdee box? Would me refuse to use da pawdee box? Mommy shouldn’t have worried so much. After all, with a name like Garfield Cat Litter, what self respectin’ cat wouldn’t like it?. Since mommy was a bit nervous she decided to add da Garfield Cat litter to our regular litter and mix it up. So she opened a bag of da Ultra Clump Grand and poured it over the top of our regular litter. Befur mommy could get da scoop to mix it up, Raena stuck her nose in to check it out. Me was checkin’ out da bag. So mommy grabbed da camera and started snap, snap, snappin’ away. And did you know Raena didn’t even care dat mommy was takin’ fotos? Dat’s right, she jumped in da pawdee box and went wee with da flashy box just a flashin’. No shame, me tells ya’, no shame.

   I needed to go sissy. And besides, I haves enuff furs to hide mines girly pawrts. And mommy says we Ragdolls squat till we touch da litter.

Well, me waited till mommy put da camera away befur me went and took care of business. But me did go right after. Me likes da new litter. It’s not hard on da paws and it’s not so lightweight dat me sinks to da bottom of da box. It doesn’t have any smell and it clumps well and is flushable. It’s made from natural plant- based renewable ingredients and has natural odor control. Garfield Cat litter comes in 2 textures. Da furst is called Bio Ultra Clump Grand. Da litter granules are about da size of regular corn, wheat or clay litter. Da other size is called Bio Ultra Clump Tiny. Da tiny is almost da texture of sand. It also has no scent, can support da weight of a big kitty, is clumping and flushable. We didn’t notice any dust when mommy poured it in our boxes and there’s no sign of it on da floor. Da granules are a white to milky color. Because there’s no actual color to da litter, it can help monitor any changes in your cat’s urine. So me gives da Garfield Cat litter 4 paws up. Obviously Raena does too. So what about mommy?

I love it too girls. Of course I love anything that ya’ll like and will use. But even when I was pouring it into the litter boxes I was hoping ya’ll would like it, because there wasn’t any perfumey smells or dust smacking me in the face. And I really like that it’s not all over the floor. Altho’ it clumps really well it doesn’t seem to stick to ya’ll’s fur either. I really like that I can monitor any urine changes; and of course my favorite thing is that it’s flushable. So two thumbs up from me. We’ll be getting more Garfield Clumping Litter.

Smiling Paws Litter Mat

Meowllo everypawdy, and a meowsy big welcome to you Furiday. We thought you’d never get here. It sure has been a busy week. Me’s VET ‘pointment went okay. Me got another Rabies vaccination purr da law, so me can be legal fur another year. And nopawdy died of heat stroke from bein’ in da hot car. Ya’ know last year mommy learned dat da compressor fur da a/c is out and somehow da window broke and doesn’t roll down, so mommy tries to avoid goin’ as much as pawssible. But sometimes ya’ just gotta suck it up and go. Hopefully me doesn’t have to see dat office again fur at least another year. We don’t have any cat only offices ‘round here, and yesfurday seemed like every doggy in these pawrts was at da VET waggin’ their tails and slobberin’ on everypawdy. It’s like da doggies are happy to be assaulted, manhandled and poked and prodded. Anyways, me just wanted to give you all an update and say fanks fur da purrayers.

Now, we have a great item to tell ya’ll ‘bout today, and a chance fur one lucky reader to win one of your own. A while back we were contacted by Smiling Paws Pets. They have these great lookin’ Litter Mats dat come in a variety of colors. Let me tell ya’ somethin’ ‘bout litter dat most of ya’ already know; litter tracks. Yep, sure does. Seems every litter we’ve tried tracks. Some less than others, but somehow, bits of cat litter end up outside of the box. So, everypawdy with a litter box in da house, can use a good litter mat. Fur a long time da only mats one could find were in blah gray. And let me tell ya’, they weren’t always soft on da paws. A litter mat’s a lot like litter; ifin kitty won’t step on it, it doesn’t matter how good it is or what a bargain you got, it’s useless.

So after lookin’ over da litter mats at Smiling Paws, we agreed to try one out. Da mat is called: Extra Large Cat Litter Mat. It’s measurements are 35” X 23.5”. Da mat is nice and thick, BPA free, liquid and waterproof with an anti-skid backing; and claims to be easy to clean. Well with large kitties and large litter boxes, dat sounded like da mat fur us. Mommy was so happy they came in different colors. We got da brown so it would match da bathroom décor where da litter boxes reside.

When da mat arrived it was rolled up and had to be flattened out. No real problems there. We had one corner dat kept wantin’ to curl, so mommy sat it under one of me’s scratchers overnight and it was ready to go da next day. Da mat itself has a cute kitty in one corner and really short pile. As me said, we received da brown and it’s a true chocolate and looks really purretty with a cream colored kitty in da corner. These could also be used as door mats. Once we got it placed by da litter boxes we realized it was a bit smaller than we had expected. But ya’ have to remember, we have da giant litter boxes fur giant kitties.

So did it do da job? Yes, da short pile and thick nature of da mat itself meant it was comfurtable enough fur kitty to walk on and thus meant it would catch any errant litter attached to box exiting paws. As fur cleaning, da mat can be shaken out or vacuumed with da hand held attachments. Fur deep cleaning mommy said she would most likely squirt it down with da water hose. So mommy gave da Smiling Paws Litter Mat 2 thumbs up and me gives it 4 paws up. Smiling Paws Pets also makes a litter box deodorizer.

Meowllo everypawdy, and Monday too. Yep, it’s another miserable Monday but me has somethin’ yummy to tell ya’ ‘bout, so dat makes it a little better, right? As pawrt of da Chewy blogging family we get to try different purroducts each month and tell you all ‘bout them. And this month was no different. Mommy chose one purroduct with each of us in mind. Of course we both would eat either purroduct. Dat bein’ sed, mommy chose fur me da Nature’s Variety Instinct Raw Boost Duck Minis Cat Treats.

Me likes duck, so mommy thought this would be a good choice. They are freeze dried in little pellet shapes. Most are bite size fur da majority of kitties; but they are easily broken up into a smaller bite or crumbled to put over a meal. One thing to keep in mind with these purrticular treats is dat they contain other ingredients besides just Duck. Here’s da ingredient list:

Buddy And The Holistic Blend #ChewyInfuencer

Well it’s Monday and time fur an update on Buddy’s 30 day challenge. As part of da Chewy bloggin’ furmily we were given da oppurrtunity to try a pawsum new cat food. Since it was kibble and you all know mommy won’t give me kibble ever again, we asked ifin it would be okay to let Buddy take it. So after we got him all signed up and received da noms, his challenge began. It’s been really cold and wet here lately so mommy trekkin’ up to mr. W’s to take fotos has been really funny to watch. You know since da wheelchair’s electric she has to walk up there. And of course we have armadillos and possums so there’s purrlenty of holes fur her cane to fall into and make mommy wobble all over da place. MOL Anyways, we’s here to talk ’bout Buddy today. Ifin you missed our furst posty, you can read it here. We told ya’ dat Buddy doesn’t eat a great quality food on a regular basis so da Holistic Blend Chicken and Salmon dry kibble cat food was gonna be a huge step up in his diet. All paws and fingers were crossed dat he would eat it. Mommy scooped out ’bout a cup of it to let us try it as a treat. Mommy had told mr. W to watch fur changes in Buddy’s activity levels, coat feel and look, stools and general overall well being; and to report back anything he noticed. And of course mommy subjects him to a thorough once over exam everytime she goes up there…Buddy, not mr. W. Mommy also made mr. W implement scheduled feedings and to use da resealable zipper to keep da food fresh fur da whole month. So now dat da business is outta da way let’s get on with da good stuff.

Buddy: Fanks Dezi. Let me say furst off dat I’s really likin’ this scheduled meal time. I didn’t at furst cuz I’s was used to nibblin’ whenever I wanted. But hey, this scheduled thing means da food in my bowl is always fresh and tasty. And I gotta tell ya’ this Holistic Blend cat food is purretty nommy. It sure hits da spot. And I’s been feelin’ better too. My skin hasn’t been as itchy lately, and my furs seem lots softer. Even awnty Audra sed my furs felt and looked better. I’s even been more playful with my daddy lately. And daddy sed I’s seem to be sheddin’ a little less too. My litterbox habits haven’t changed, least not so dat anypawdy would notice. But I’s do like da food really well.

Thanks Buddy, glad you be likin’ da noms. And yes, mommy talked ’bout how your furs be lookin’ much better these days. She also sed you looked so cute waitin’ fur mr. W to put your noms in your bowl. Don’t’cha’ just hate it when you’re waitin’ to eat and mommy’s takin’ fotos? Da noms be so close you can smell ’em and almost taste ’em, but there she goes, snap, snap, snappin’ away. Mommy sez you was really patient and unlike me didn’t holler at her once to hurry up. Me still hasn’t gotten to try them, cuz mommy just hates dat da furst ingredient is chicken meal ‘stead of chicken, and then rice. Chicken is in da list, mommy just likes it to be da furst ingredient when da name sez “chicken”. Anyways, mommy talked with mr. W and he sed da pawdee box stench seemed to be da same. Da reason we mention dat is cuz one of da claims made by Holistic Blend is dat it “stimulates the breakdown of ammonia to reduce urine and stool odor.” However Buddy’s overall appearance seems to be much better. We’ll update you again at da end of da 30 days and let ya’ know if anything changed. We should note dat ‘stead of a slow transition, mr. W switched Buddy to da Holistic Blend food by serving it alone and taking away his other food. Buddy did start eating the Holistic Blend immediately without any tummy upsets. So based on his immediate acceptance we would say dat it is very palatable.
