Blest Sunday: A New Day A New Blessing

Dezi: MeOW C’mon Raena, it’s Blest Sunday. It’s time to get outta the window and count our Blessings.

Raena: What are you meowin’ ‘bout sissy? I’s not in the window. Last time I’s checked, this was a door. And technically, I’s not in it. MOL

Dezi: Okay miss smarty pantaloons, get away from the door and let’s get to work.

Raena: Work? I’s didn’t hear mommy ask fur anythin’. What do we need to do?

Dezi: Not that work silly. Me meant it’s time to write our posty. (Dezi shakes her head) Sometimes, you’re not the crispest cracker in the box. Guess it’s a good thing you got the purretty gene. We can’t all be purretty and smart like me.

Raena: Huh? Somehow sissy, I’s thinkin’ you’re not actually payin’ me a compliment. But, it’s Blest Sunday, so I’s not gonna fight with ya’ today. I’s am purretty. Mommy even says I’s gawjus. When God started passin’ out the purretties, I’s got in line twice.

Dezi: RaenaBelle Mayce…Girl, you’ve gotta stop watchin’ so much tv. You’re startin’ to sound as silly as some of the peeps on those shows you like.

Raena: But sissy, you can learn so much from tv. Altho’ ya’ have to be careful what ya’ watch. Mommy says even regular tv is usin’ a lot of HBO words these days. Anyways, did you see that cool runnin’ wheel fur kitties the other day? I’s want one. I’s think it would be so much fun.

Dezi: You would Raena. Me thinks it would be lots of fun to watch you runnin’ in place. Maybe it would tire you out a bit so you’d pester me less. Hmmmmmm Me needs to mention this to mommy. A kitty wheel fur sure needs to be on our Christmas wish list. Anyways, me wanted to meow ‘bout how the weather started to cool off some this past week. Cooler weather means me has more energy. (Dezi stops and thinks for a minute) ‘Course, it also means you have more energy too. Yep, we fur sure need one of those wheels.

Raena: I’s enjoyin’ the cooler weather too sissy. Ifin it would stop rainin’ so much we could go fur some nice strolls with mommy. I’s luvs mommy and me time soooooo much. I’s count mommy as mine’s biggest Blessing every single day. You’re mine’s second Blessing and our furiends are mine’s third. Every Blessing after that is just the bonito flakes over rabbit.

Dezi: You’re right Raena, we are indeed very Blest kitty girls. We actually received one of those other Blessings this week. We wanna say a meowsy big Fank you to awnty Susan fur the green papers and her furiendship. We fank God fur bringin’ us and mommy together and makin’ it pawssible fur us to meet so many amazin’ peeps and anipals. And, while me may not like thunderstorms and rain, me’s fankful fur it cuz it makes the purretty flowers bloom and the air smell furesh. Blessings are all ‘round us, we just have to open our eyes and see ‘em.

I’s luvs you too mommy.

Raena: That’s so true sissy. Every meownin’ when we wake up mommy smiles. She can’t even move yet, but she looks over at us and smiles and says fanky fank you to God. Mommy says just wakin’ up to a new day is a Blessing. It makes me so happy that I’s turn on mine’s motor boat full blast. MOmmy says it’s like she has a vibrating bed. I’s don’t know zactly what that means, but I’s do know it makes mommy happy and that’s all I’s care ‘bout.

Me’s mommy. Life is good.

Blest Sunday: Cuddles, Love And Friends

Dezi: MeOW C’mon RaenaBelle, it’s time fur our Blest Sunday posty. (Dezi looks around but doesn’t see Raena) Raena, where are you? C’mon, we don’t have all day.

Raena: ‘Course we do sissy, it’s not like we have a schedule we have to keep. It’s our bloggy, so we can make or break any of the rules we want too.

Dezi: So you wanna be known as Raena the rule breaker?

Raena: No sissy, but where are these rules you’re meowin’ ‘bout?

Dezi: They’re unwritten rules Raena. The sooner we get our post posted, the sooner we can start visitin’ furiends.

Raena: Hmmmmpht Like mommy’s gonna let us on the catputer with it stormin’ outside. Did you see all those puddles? It’s been rainin’ so hard we’ve actually got flood puddles. It’s amazin’ to me how we can go from desperately needin’ the rain to flooded over night.

Dezi: Yeah Raena, that’s true. Y, just a couple weeks ago we were unner a burn ban, and now you couldn’t find a dry piece of wood to even start a fire.

Raena: Like you’d even know how to start a fire sissy.

Dezi: Shows what you know Raena. Me’s a cat scout. Me knows all ‘bout fires and campin’ and all kinds of other ‘purrtant things.

Raena: Yeah, sure sissy, whatever you meow. Anyways, I’s thought we were gonna count our Blessings. I’s countin’ mine’s mommy and me cuddle time. I’s so luvs cuddlin’ with mommy. And with all the storms this week, I’s had extra cuddle time. How ‘bout you?

Dezi: Yep Raena, me luvs cuddle time with mommy too. And, t’ween storms, me got some extras this week. Ya’ know, me was thinkin’ ‘bout all our furiends and those who have left us recently. We really miss them, but we were so Blest to have known them in the furst place. You know how mommy’s always sayin’, we’re never purromissed tomorrow, so you should never wait to express your feelings to those you luv.

Raena: That’s why mommy’s always tellin’ us how much she luvs us, isn’t it sissy?. Sometimes when I’s layin’ all curled up in mommy’s lap and she thinks I’s sleepin’, I’s can hear her fanky fankin’ God fur me and sayin’ how much she luvs me and needs me. Sometimes she even gets the leaky eyes. I’s can feel them when they fall on mine’s furs and she gently wipes them away. I’s don’t know why she’d cry like that. I’s never leavin’ mommy.

Dezi: Me thinks those are the happy tears Raena. You know, the kind humans get when they’re so overcome with luv and joy? Me’s heard mommy say the same things ‘bout me and sis Lexi befur you. We are very Blest to have a mommy who luvs us so much. We’re Blest to have such amazin’ furiends. We wish they never had to be sick or leave us and go to heaven. It makes us so sad and our hearts hurt. But, we cherish each moment we have with all of you.

Raena: You can meow that again sissy. Mommy says the sads of loss are just another pawrt of luvs. And luvs be the greatest Blessing we can have. Well, besides mommy, our furiends, our home, our noms, our toys, our…

Dezi: Alright Raena, we get the point. Let’s wrap this up and go get some of those extra cuddles from mommy. Blest Sunday: The Smallest Blessings Are The Best

Dezi: MeOW Hissssssssss (Dezi heaves and convulses atop the liberty cat tree and stretches her neck)

Mommy A: Dezi, Come down from there!!! Use a piddle pad baby. Don’t hurl all over the place. I haven’t even had a cup of coffee yet.

Raena: (Raena sits in front of the bathroom looking down the hall towards Dezi heaving on the cat tree) And I’s not had brekky yet sissy. (Raena runs back to the kitchen where mommy’s preparing breakfast and her coffee and lays down in front of the fridge)

Dezi: (Dezi heaves one last time and out comes a hair ball. She then climbs down from the cat tree and sits at the edge of the kitchen watching mommy prepare breakfast. Dezi cleans her paws and face) Hurry mommy, me’s hungry. And, it’s Blest Sunday. We’ve got lots to do today.

Raena: I’s bet you are hungry sissy. Wasn’t that dinner there with that hairball? You know, when humans hurl after their meals it’s a sickness.

Dezi: It’s not the same fur kitties Raena. But you’re right, it is a sickness. We have no way of knowin’ ifin any of our furiends might be dealin’ with this or not, but ifin you are, purrlease stop. You are luvved and Blest and purrfect just the way you are. (The girls watch mommy grab some papertowels and cleaner and head for the cat tree and hairball mess) Mommy, clean it up later, me’s hungry now.

Raena: You should’a waited till after mommy served brekky and got in the sittin’ chair sissy. Now we have to wait till she cleans up. We’re never gonna get brekky now. It’ll be more like brunch. You really should use the piddle pads; clean up’s much quicker.

Dezi: Whatever. Anyways, as me was meowin’, it’s Blest Sunday. We luv countin’ our Blessings ‘round here, don’t we Raena.

Raena: Sure nuff sissy. We saw this post on facebook the other day that was listin’ Blessings. Not the big ones that peeps normally think ‘bout, but the every day Blessings, like a roof over our heads and food in our bellies and the likes.

Dezi: Yep Raena, sometimes the littlest Blessings are actually the bestest Blessings. So many peeps and anipals don’t have a place to call home, and so many of us take ours fur granted. A new season the bad kitties show just started up and while we were watchin’ an episode the other night, me was reminded just how Blest we are. Even tho’ me hurled all over the place this meownin’ befur mommy even had a cup of coffee, me never once thought she might get rid of me.

Raena: That’s true sissy. I’s wish every kitty could have the security we do. Maybe we should do somethin’ fur mommy. You know, to show her how much we luvs and ‘purreciate her. I’s wish we could throw a pawrty or somethin’ fur mommy and all our furiends. A huge get together where everypawdy could laff and have fun. And spend a day not worryin’ ‘bout anythin’. Wouldn’t that be cool?

Dezi: It would Raena. But, since that’s not likely to happen, we should just remind all our furiends how much we luv and ‘purreciate them. Mommy says you never know what tomorrow may bring, so you should tell those in your life how much you luv them as offen as you can.

Raena: I’s luvs hearin’ mommy tell us she luvs us, don’t you sissy? I’s could hear those 3 words all the time and never get tired of it. Meowin’ of luvs and ‘purreciation, we wanted to meow fanky fank you to awnty Vonda fur the green papers. She told mommy to get her somethin’ special to eat now that she has her new teethies. I’s can’t wait to see what mommy gets cuz I’s sure she’s gonna share at least a few bites with us.

Fank you fur not bein’ mad that me hurled everywhere, mommy.

Dezi: Me hopes she gets somethin’ tasty Raena. Anyways, meowin’ of tasty, we should wrap this up and go eat brekky. Blest Sunday: Chasing The Wilds

Dezi: MeOW C’mon RaenaBelle, It’s Blest Sunday. Me wants to count me’s Blessings befur the storms start again.

Raena: I’s comin’ sissy. Ya’ know, it would really be a Blessing to mommy ifin you didn’t spend so much time unner the bed. (Raena meows sarcastically) I’s know, you’re not hidin’, you’re lookin’ fur intruders. But, I’s don’t think any intruders could have slipped by you. You’ve been unner the bed most of the week.

Dezi: Was not, Raena. Me also spent time on the stool unner the vanity by the bed, and unner the dinin’ room table. Me even spent some time in mommy’s lap. And, somewhere durin’ one of those times we did get an intruder. You know, that fly we’ve been chasin’ fur two days?.

Come back here fly!!!

Raena: I’s think he’s multiplyin’ sissy. I’s know I’s caught him once already. He tasted kind’a nasty. And I’s accidentally scratched mommy when I’s clasped him t’ween mine’s fluffy paws.

Dezi: Yep Raena, me heard. You’re a dangerous hunter. You’re all over the place. It’s like you’re chasin’ the wilds. You even jumped up on the kitchen counter. You know we’re not allowed up there.

Raena: I’s was tryin’ to ketch the fly sissy. It was botherin’ mommy and you were nowhere in sight. So, it was totally up to me to purrtect her. Flies are wild, aren’t they?

Dezi: Purrlease Raena, like that fly was gonna hurt mommy. What…

Raena: It might have sissy. She kept waving her hands thru the air and makin’ spittin’ sounds. It could’a flown in her mouth. So, I’s had to keep her safe. Ifin you hadn’t been hidin’ out you might’ve known what a pest he was bein’. Anyways, I’s thought we were gonna count our Blessings. Let’s get on with it, I’s wanna go finish mine’s brekky.

Dezi: Meowin’ of food Raena, did you know mommy signed us up fur some 30 day challenge?

Raena: Yep sissy, I’s heard that. I’s hope it’s a challenge we’ll like. You know, we’re really Blest to be able to do things like this. Not every kitty in the world gets to try out new stuffs and toys and noms. That’s one of my fanky fankfuls this week. And, I’s know we mention havin’ a luvvin’ furever home a lot, but I’s think that’s a Blessin’ we should give fanky fanks fur every day. ‘Specially with all these storms we’ve been havin’. I’s wouldn’t wanna even think ‘bout havin’ to live outside in it. (Raena shudders)

Dezi: You’re right Raena. Havin’ a furever home is somethin’ to be fankful fur every day. As are our furiends and mommy. Our life’s purretty good from where me’s sittin’. Sure we have a few purroblems now and then, but mommy says that’s just pawrt of life. And, as long as we have each other, God and luv, there ain’t nuffin we can’t overcome.

Raena: You’ve got that right sissy. We luvs our furiends so much. We meow extra purrayers fur each of you every day.
