Awnty Ellen fwum 15 and meowin’ tagged us fur da Quote Challenge da udder day. Da rules awe to name and link back to yous challenger. Post at least 3 of yous favowite quotes, and pass da challenge along. So here we go.

Our openin’ quote is one dat be very close to mommy’s heart, as all of our quotes will be. Mommy sez a purromise has a much stwonger connotation than words like, okay, I will, sure, no purroblem. A purromise is yous word and bond. Afur mommy’s accident when she was healffy and always reliable, she made lots of purromises. And she kept every one. Today mommy makes far less purromises, but she still keeps each and every one. Ifin mommy sez she purromises you sumfin’, then yous can count on her to do it. We fink it’s weally purrtant dat yous mouff not be writin’ checks yous body can’t cash. Dat by da way is not on our quote list, but it is a quote made famous by Bo Diddly. And one dat mommy uses when she dusn’t make purromises. She sez hers mind is still sharp as a tack but hers body keeps her fwum duin’ a lot of fings these days.

Our next quote is weally relevant today when so many awe twyin’ to erase periods and events of history. Sed by George Santayana, “Those who cannot remember the past, are condemmed to repeat it.” Good, bad or ugly da past exists and we can’t change it. But we shuld learn fwum it. Yous own past has made you da purrson you awe today. Events have led you to where you awe today. Even tho’ we be poor and mommys body be a mess, she sez she wuldn’t change a fing. Everyday of her life has been a learning adventure dat has led her to da here and now. She sez she be gwatefull dat it’s hers short term memory dat be da purroblem cuz she has da memories of da lessons of her past to guide her.

Our third and final quote was a toss up. We saved da bestest fur last. So many peeps hav quoted this one in a variety of different ways dat no two sites cwedit da same purrson over and over. So weez’ll just say dat mommy’s gwandpa (may he rest in peace) taught her to “Live each day to da fullest, cuz you were never promised a tomorrow.” We fink it’s purretty self explanatory. And Jesus said in Matthew 24:36, “But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the Angels of Heaven, but My Father only.” We kuld go on and on and on, but you kinda get a sense of who we awe in da qotes weez chose to use. We’re back and rested up. Well at least we finally went to bed. MOL Mommy got a 2 hour nap on Sunday and well, we don’t count those times she nodded off while visitin’ and readin’ bloggys. Weez didn’t comment cuz she wasn’t coherent enuff to stwing letters togevver and make a sentence. MOL Has dat ever happened to any of you? Mommy sed she finks back to when we furst stawrted bloggin’ and she finks she members a few times when we might have commented when she was like dat and she wunners what in da world yous musta fawt ‘bout us. Me told hers not to worry it’s comments unner da bwidge. MOL But we wuld like to pawlogize ifin yous one of those bloggers when we rambled on and made no sense in da early days.

So sis Lexi and mommy was talkin’ da udder day ‘bout meez birffday pawrty and what they was gunna do. And they ‘cided to have a theme pawrty where weez all get dwessed up. But they kuldn’t decide on just what kinda dwessin’ up we shuld do. So me told ‘em we shuld just ask all of you what kinda pawrty y’all wuld like. We don’t go to any movies so weez not know what be current. By da time they be on teevee so we can watch ‘em they’re alweady old. But we was finkin’ we kuld have sumfin’ all dwessed up like “Gone wiff da Wind”, me is a suddern belle after all. Or maybe sumfin’ like “Carnival” wiff da gowns and suits and masks. So put on yous finkin’ caps and tell me what ya’ fink.

Now ‘nuff ‘bout all dat. Yesfurday was mommys doctor day so we was purretty busy. She’s fine, it was just hers mumffly pointment. Da lawn cwu showed up furst fing in da meownin’ after not bein’ here fur a mumff. And it was rainin’ out so they fwu round wet gwass and weeds and fallin’ leaves. So da allergies be maxed out wight now. Sumtimes dat cwu acts like such idiots. But fank catness it quit rainin’ afur we had to leave. We didn’t have anyfin’ like our furiends on da East Coast this past weekend tho’. Weez so glad yous all okay. And weez sendin’ lots of purrayers fur everypawdy dat was affected.

Full of Fanks and Questions

Well it’s 6 a.m. this blest Sunday as we begin to write meez posty. fur us it’s still Caturday night cuz we haven’t been to bed yet. Now afur you stawrt worryin’, everyfin’ is alwight. Sissy be duin’ good and me be duin’ good and udder than da normal cooler wevver pain, mommy be duin’ good. Fings just kept happenin’ dat kept us fwum getting’ to bed. We luv mommy very, very, very much, but we awe quite a handful. Mommy DVR’s anyfin’ she wants to watch fwum da teevee, cuz weez likely to innerupt any purrogwam she’s watchin’. She has to watch da DVR’d purrogwams an average of 6 times to actually get da jist of what’s goin’ on. MOL So last night when a show came on called “An American Sniper” dat mommy had wanted to watch, she stawrted da DVR wight away. But she also sed, “Girls, I really would like to watch this show.” And yous know what? We let her. Weez didn’t meow, squeak, pee in da floor, want tweats or extwa noms, or anyfin’ else fur da whole show. Mommy rewarded us big time. We might have to twy this again sumtime……Nah, weez like da udder way better. And we still get tweats. MOL

Anyways, in case there’s anypawdy else on da planet dat hasn’t seen it yet, weez won’t spoil it fur ya’. But we will say a Meowsy Big Fank You to all da service men and women who have and who currently keep us and this kuntwy safe. We awe so blest to live in da gweatest kuntwy on this planet. We ask all Americans to wake up and stand up fur our God given wights dat da foundin’ fathers saw fit to enact in da writin’ of da Declaration of Independence and da Constitution. As most of ya’ know sis Lexi has CKD and takes medicine everyday and eats special noms. Course she eats whatever she wants too, cuz dat’s better than not eatin’ at all. And of course most of da VET visits awe fur her. But, a kupple mumffs ago mommy noticed a little black spot ‘tween meez shoulder blades. Now this ain’t just any black spot. It’s black unner da skin and has turned da skin black. Da fur there still be white, cuz there ain’t posed to be a black spot there. Me hasn’t acted like it’s botherin’ me or nuffin’, but mommy’s been keepin’ a weally close eye on it and it has gotten a little lawrger. It’s in da spot where meez miwochip was inserted and where yous put da stwipe on flea tweatments. Mommy bein’ da worry wart she is has been goin’ a little nuts. She’s wunnered fings like, kuld da micwochip have bwoken? Is there ink in it? Did me get bit by sumfin’? But she didn’t weally have da gween papers to take me to da VET. And it’s not like we twust our current VET anyways. And cuz we need so much help takin’ care of sis Lexi, mommy just kuldn’t ask any[awdy to help wiff me too.

So Caturday night as me sat in mommy’s lap purrin’ and getting’ luv, da fone rang. One of our pawsum awnties fwum Facebook sed she had been finkin’ ‘bout us and wanted to check in wiff us. She generously put sum gween papers in our paypal account so mommy kuld take me to see da VET. Of course mommy had a good cwy ‘bout it but she is so fankful. Meez fankful too, but meez not lookin’ furward to goin’ to da VET. So we wuld like to say a meowsy big Fank You to awnty Anonymous fur helpin’ to make sure me be okay. Mommy’s gunna call wound next week and make me a pointment. She has hers own doctors pointment on Monday, so it looks like it be shapin’ up to be a busy week. Wiff meez 6ff Meowday comin’ up it’ll be good fur mommy to know dat me be okay and healffy. We awe so blest to have so many wunnerful furiends.
