I’s heard somepawdy meowin’ there was s’posed to be 12 days of Christmas. I’s gotta tell ya’, this little kitty girl’s a little confused right now.
RaenaBelle, this ain’t your furst new year. Were you really that oblivious last year that you don’t ‘member nuffin’?
I’s don’t know what that means sissy, but mommy says I’s was young and that mine’s play function was on overdrive. She says a kitty as active as me, doesn’t stop long enuff to realize what’s goin’ on ‘round us. I’s know mommy wouldn’t be mean to me, but somehow, I’s thinkin’ that’s not a very nice thing to say.
You’re right Raeana, mommy would never be mean to us. Me doesn’t think she was mean when she said that, she was just tellin’ the truth. You’re still very active, but you’re furinally growin’ up enuff to slow down and smell the nip. It’s kind’a nice not havin’ ya’ jump on me constantly. Altho’ you do kind’a go overboard with PB our new automated litter box. Mommy says ya’ gotta quit tryin’ to keep the clumps. And no kitty needs to go pawtty every 3 minutes. You’re gonna wear him out and he won’t wanna dump the clumps anymore.
But he’s so much fun sissy. Did you see me go fur a ferris wheel ride this meownin’?

Oh Raena, of course you did. Anyways, let’s meow ‘bout your questions. Humans measure time in minutes, hours, days, weeks and years. So after so many days, humans start their count over and call it a new year. And yes, you’ll have another birthday, but not at the same time the new year starts. Your birthday is in April, so that’s when we’ll celebrate it. As fur Christmas havin’ 12 days, we don’t celebrate that way. We celebrate Christmas as the day Jesus was born, and it didn’t take 12 days fur that to happen.
But don’t we celebrate our birthdays fur a whole month?
We do Raena. But, that’s somethin’ mommy started cuz we were so poor and some kitty’s birthday was befur her payday and another kitty’s birthday was long after the greenies was gone fur the month. That would’a been Lucky and Lexi back then. By celebratin’ all month long, mommy hoped that at some point in that month she would be able to get somethin’ special fur the birthday kitty. So, to answer your questions, yes, Christmas is over fur the year. But, we can carry the Christmas spirit with us every day of the year. The world would fur sure be a better place ifin more peeps did it. And yes, you’ll have another birthday, but not till April. As fur the new year, we’ll celebrate it like we do all the holidays, gettin’ lots of extra luvvin’ and hugs.
Do we need to get mommy a gift?
Nope Raena, she’ll be happy ifin we just give her extra purrs and cuddles. There’s not really any gift givin’ at the new year.
Oh, okay. Do ya’ reckon we can play with our new hexbug? I’s just luvs that thing. Awnty Belinda picked us out a good one.
Yep Raena, me luvs it too. Me’s sure mommy will turn him on and let us play.
I’s got one last question sissy. What’s a new year’s resolution and do we need to make one?
Well Raena, a resolution is s’posed to be a furm decision to do or not to do somethin’. Like, lots of peeps resolve to lose weight every new year. That’s why there’s lots of sales on exercise equipment and diet purroducts the whole month of January. The reality is that, most peeps aren’t really serious and give up on their resolutions a few weeks in. So, mommy says there’s no need fur us to be makin’ resolutions that we can’t keep. Mommy says ifin ya’ really wanna do somethin’ then ya’ just do it. It shouldn’t matter what time of year it is.

Two little kitty girls and their disabled mommy are blest beyond measure, we’re filthy rich with luv.

Let me tell ya’, these things are sooooooo much fun. We got one of these buggers in our Hooligan in a Can purrize pack from Cat Scouts. As soon as mommy turned him on, we were off and running. I’s will say, he works bestest on non carpeted floors. But, kitty HexBugs are great fur hours of fun and a great source of some pawsum action shots fur all you fotographers out there. There are several places to get your HexBug from the creators website to amazon. They run anywhere from $4.99 to $19.99. They don’t specifically make a HexBug fur doggies, but there are some bigger bugs that we think any woofie would enjoy as well.

Now that’s me’s kind of business. MOL Anyways, the shelf we received if just purrrrrrrrfect. Very well made and it looks just bootyful. It has 2 removable washable covers, soft wool or a ridged fibre type. And, it’ll hold up to 33 pounds. That means it’s purrfect fur us. It comes with everythin’ you need to get it up on the wall includin’ the wall anchors. Ifin ya’ live in a small space like we do, you know you have to take advantage of the vertical space. ‘Course, anypawdy who knows cats, knows, we like the high places anyways. Yep, I’s was stylin’ in mine’s old new dress and tryin’ to win the Chewy fashion show. Mommy had gotten the dress when I’s was a little girly. It didn’t fit me back then, but mommy said it reminded her of somethin’ called a hoe down complete with square dancers. I’s haven’t been to any hoe downs or square dances, but I’s do like mine’s dress.

I’s was meowin’ ‘bout mine’s dress I’s wore fur the Chewy fashion show last month. You ‘member, you wanted me to win so we could get a great surpurrise box from Chewy?.

Well sissy, I’s won. And OMC what a pawtastic box full of goodies we got. Y, They even sent mommy a little sumpin, sumpin. You know how much mommy enjoys her coffee and even hot chocolate in the winter time. Well, now she has this great kitty mug to drink them with. Mommy said to tell everypawdy, ifin they were lookin’ fur a nice sized mug fur themselves or to give as a gift, look no further, this mug is huge and adorable. I’s gotta agree, it really is cute. Anyways, we got some amazin’ goodies all fur us. We got some of our favorite freeze dried treats, and some of those Kittles I’s like.
Me saw some of those tasty bonito flakes too. But, me’s favorites in the box were the Yeowww nip toys. We shared with Gizmo and his fursibs durin’ their recent visit, and now we got 2 new Yeowww toys fur ourselves. Ya’ can’t beat a blessin’ like that fur sure.
That’s the truth sissy. And, we got a new wand toy too. I’s can’t wait to play with mommy. Ya’ know, we think any kitty would be happy with any of the items we got. Sure ‘nuff Raena. Me bets all the kitties in the shelters would luv any of the goodies we got too. As a matter of fact, they might even come outta their shells a bit and get adopted quicker. So many anipals will die in shelters without ever knowin’ the luv and wonderment of a furever home. This makes us so sad. But fur the Grace of God…
