Chatting Cats: Mommy Is Feeling Proud

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. Sissy, Aren’t you thru checkin’ unner the bed yet? I’s purretty sure nuffin’ got in the house since the last time you checked!!! Mommy says the silly weather guessers have issued warnings fur every town and county ‘round us, but left us out.

          (Dezi meows loudly from UTB) Ifin we’re not s’posed to be havin’ all these storms then what’s that loud noise that keeps bangin’ the roof?!!

Mommy says it’s those ice balls called hail. I’s haven’t figgered out the difference t’ween hail and sleet. Seems they’re both ice that rains down from the sky and makes a lot of noise. Anyways, mommy says she was really purroud of you last night fur stayin’ out and eatin’ your dinner even tho’ it was stormin’ outside. So I’s was thinkin’…

Sissy…I’s only tryin’ to help. Anyways, I’s was thinkin’, ifin you could come out last night and eat your dinner, then you oughtta be able to come out today and eat your brekky and hang out with mommy and me.

          (Dezi slinks down the hall to the living room focusing on the door) Hmmmm, Why didn’t you tell me brekky was ready?

I’s thought you heard mommy hollerin’ fur ya’ fur the last 10 minutes and then sing our brekky song.

          (A loud clap of thunder is heard overhead. Dezi, flattens and looks around. Seeing Raena still eating and mommy A sitting calmly in her chair, Dezi decides to continue to eat. Mommy beams with pride at Dezi’s actions) Me sure hopes that these storms go away and soon, Raena. Guess we oughtta be really glad we got in those strolls last week. Doesn’t look like there’s gonna be any strollin’ this week.

May be sissy, but I’s gonna look on the pawsitive side and believe these nasty storms will pass by us today. You know, mommy says havin’ a pawsitive attitude is half the battle. Y, Look’it you, I’s believed with mommy that you could hang out with us in the livin’ room even tho’ it was stormin’ outside. And there you are, purrettyin’ up in front of the fireplace. Can’t you see how purroud mommy is of you?

          Yeah, well, ya’ll shouldn’t get any big ideas, me might need to check fur intruders again soon. We better wrap this up befur the catputer blinks. We couldn’t get in any visits with our furiends fur the last few days cuz the catputer keeps shuttin’ down.

I’s know sissy. But I’s think mommy’s the reason the catputer’s been shuttin’ down. You know she doesn’ like us to be on it when it’s stormin’ outside. She says she can’t affurd to replace it ifin it gets hit by lightnin’ or somethin’. We’ll just have to hope our furiends unnerstand and know that we’ll visit as soon as we can. In the meantime, let’s go play.

          What are you meowin’ on ‘bout over there Raena?

 

All the commotion here yesfurday, sissy. Was that not a headache or what? There was men all over the place with big bags and tools and all kinds of things. You’d have thought it was spring time or somethin’. 

 

          Yeah, well it’s not. Your short stroll with mommy to the mail box should’a told ya’ that.

Yeah, it sure was cold sissy. Even tho’ the sun was beamin’ in the sky, it was chilly and really windy. None the less, I’s sure did enjoy mine’s stroll with mommy. Even ifin she was tryin’ to hurry and get us back inside.

          Yep Raena, me thinks everypawdy fur miles ‘round heard how much you enjoyed the stroll. Poor mommy was tryin’ to use the…well, she was in the pawtty box room and there you were runnin’ back and furth to the stroller and meowin’ at the top of your lungs.

I’s couldn’t help it sissy. It was so much fun that I’s wanted to go back out again. Mommy could’a put on her coat and mine’s harness and taken me back out. Ya’ know, we usually wear our harnesses to go out. But, since we were only goin’ to the mailbox and mommy knows we’re comfutable in the stroller, she let me go out without it just this once. ‘Course, she also kept me all zipped up, so I’s couldn’t escape. It’s just been so long since we went fur a stroll, that I’s furgot how much fun it was. So many noises. I’s kept hearin’ some birdy, but I’s couldn’t figger out where it was comin’ from. And I’s saw some big o’l deer out in the woods. What fun I’s had.

 

          Well Raena, you’ll get purrlenty of time fur fun today when you and mommy go back to the dentist fur another one of those teethy fittings. Hopefully this will be the last one. At least fur the upper ones. She’s still gotta have those last two teethies removed and then this whole thing will start all over with more wax fittings fur the bottom teethies.

Yeah sissy, fanky fankfully we’ve almost got all the green papers mommy needs to get this finished. And then she’ll be lodgin’ some massive complaints. She’s seen how bad their work can be, so she’s a little ‘fraid to make any of those complaints right now. I’s need to finish mine’s brekky so I’s can get ready to go with mommy. Are you comin’ sissy? 

 

          Yep Raena, me’s right behind ya’. Hopefully, we’ll get ‘round to visit with our furiends tomorrow.

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. A muggy wet RaenaBelle. I’s so tired of these storms!!! I’s wanna see the sunshine again. And go fur strolls. And…

          Raena, we’re all tired of the storms and ready fur some warmer weather. But, you went and broke the stroller, so there ain’t gonna be any strolls till we can get a new one.

I’s thought mommy was just kitten, sissy. I’s sure didn’t mean to break our stroller. 

 

 

          Me’s sure mommy knows you didn’t do it on purr-puss. After all, me doesn’t think any kitty’s ever luvved strollin’ more than you. Me luvs strolls, but me thinks you could do it all day every day. Besides, we’re just big kitties who need things that can actually hold up unner our weight. 

 

Oh sissy, I’s do luvs a good stroll and spendin’ time with mommy. I’s think mommy could use with a good stroll and some furesh air. She seems so stressed lately.

          Well Raena, all this dental stuff is really gettin’ to her. She thought she was almost finished and then they pop up and tell her, “Oh, by the way, when are you gonna schedule your appointment to have those 2 teeth we talked you into keepin’ fur crowns?” Mommy only kept ‘em cuz they told her those teeth were good and didn’t need any work and would help anchor her bottom denture.

 

Yeah, she was purretty upset on Monday when she got that mews. She told ‘em that ifin she’d been told the teethies were bad in the furst place, she would’a never kept ‘em. So, now she’s gotta figger out how to get ‘em pulled and change that bottom denture from a partial to a full. Seems it just never stops.

          So true, Raena. She’ll be addin’ another 4 months fur purropurr healin’ to all this. Mommy said she couldn’t believe that nopawdy ever said anythin’ befur. After all, this thing has been goin’ on fur over a year now. But, there was a ray of sunshine in our Monday. We usually save these blessings fur Sunday’s posty, but it helped to pick up mommy’s spirit so, we wanted to say a meowsy big Fank you to awnty Ellen today.

Oh sissy, when mommy opened the box we got from awnty Ellen on Monday evenin’ she let out a squee like I’s never heard. I’s didn’t get it till you told me how much mommy luvs willow trees. We don’t have any, but willows be one of mommy’s faves, ‘specially the Pussy Willow.

          Of course mommy’s fave would be the Pussy Willow. After all, it’s named after us kitties. Y, Even the blooms are called Catkins.

I’s don’t think it was named after us kitties, sissy. It doesn’t look anythin’ like a cat. Anyways, when mommy opened the box she saw a big bunch of those wrappin’ bubbles. Mommy luvs pawppin’ those things. But that wasn’t even the good pawrt. When mommy opened those bubbles, she found a whole bunch of Pussy Willow cuttings inside. ‘Course she had a good cry and then called up awnty Ellen to say fanky fank ya’. Then mommy hit google to see ifin she could grow her one of those Pussy Willow trees from the cuttings. She found that they’re s’posed to root easily in water so she put several stems in a jar of water and saved the rest fur decoration.

          ‘Course, awnty Ellen didn’t furget ‘bout us either. She included a couple of her Made With Luv toys just fur us. Ya’ know what else mommy learned ‘bout the Pussy Willow? She learned that the blooms are one of the furst signalers of spring. Ya’ couldn’t have known awnty Ellen, but gettin’ that box when we did made mommy’s day.

It sure did, sissy. We also had another little blessin’. Our story has been featured on Fear Free Happy Homes. We better wrap it up, mommy’s got another ‘pointment with the dentist today fur a fittin’. Fanky fank you all fur bein’ our furiends. you’re always in our thoughts and purrayers. We’re also sendin’ some extra purrayers to Shoko, awnty Jean and uncle Bill from the Canadian Cats. Our sweet meezer furiend Kali had to go to heaven yesfurday. She will be missed dearly.

Chatting Cats: Planning A Love Fest

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. Kittens  Are we ever gettin’ a late start today.

          When ya’ think ‘bout it Raena, it’s not all that late. Ya’ know it is fur peeps who go to bed befur midnight, but fur those of us who don’t see bedtime till 5 or 6 in the meownin’, we’re actually gettin’ ‘round early. 

 

Hmmmm Ya’ might be right sissy. I’s’ll have to think on that one a bit. Did you see mommy jump when I’s came back to bed after goin’ to the pawtty this meownin’? The floor was soooooo cold, and mine’s paw toesies were fureezin’. I’s could feel the heat radiatin’ off mommy, so I’s wriggled unner the covers and stuck mine’s paw toesies right up against mommy’s warm skin. I’s don’t know why she jumped like that. Ifin I’s hadn’t been so cold, it might’ve scared me.

          Me thinks your cold paw toesies are zactly why she jumped, Raena. Anyways,, did you see where the weather guessers are sayin’ it’s gonna warm up tomorrow? Yesfurday was 11°, today’s 20° and they’re sayin’ it might well be a whole 70° tomorrow. That’d be purrime strollin’ weather. And on Valentine’s day no less.

 

Valentine’s day? What does that have to do with the weather and strollin’ sissy? 

 

          Well, nuffin’ me guesses, but Valentine’s day is the day of luv. What better way fur mommy to show us she luvs us that to take us fur a stroll.?

I’s could sure go fur a stroll sissy. I’s so tired of bein’ cooped up. But, I’s thought mommy showed us she luvved us all the time. I’s know I’s sure feel luvved when she pets me, and holds me, and sings to me, and brushes mine’s fur, and cleans mine’s eyes, and tells me so. I’s even felt her luvs this meownin’ when she warmed up mine’s paw toesies.

 

          Well of course mommy shows us she luvs us all the time Raena, but still, a nice stroll out in the furesh air would just be one more way she can show us.

 

I’s all fur that sissy. Are we gonna do anythin’ special fur her?

          Well Raena, that was always sis Lexi’s depawrtment. She was good at knowin’ the right thing to do at the right time to make mommy feel special. Me sure wishes she was here now.

 

Well sissy, you know how much mommy luvs us purrin’ and givin’ her massages. Maybe we could do a few extra. And, maybe we can play nice all day tomorrow. I’s know fur sure she’d luv that. She always smiles so big when we play together nicely. She says it’s good to see you havin’ fun again.

          Yeah, mommy does seem pawfully happy when me runs ‘round and plays. And, there’s a couple of shows comin’ on that mommy’s been wantin’ to watch. Maybe we can let her actually watch the whole show without buggin’ her. Yep, it’s settled Raena, that’s what we’ll do fur mommy fur Valentine’s day. You’re purretty good at comin’ up with plans.

Y, Fanky fanks sissy, that’s one of the nicest things you’ve said ‘bout me. We better go get ready fur all those extra massages and purrs we’re gonna give mommy. Maybe we oughtta have a short nap furst.
