Hi everyone, mommy A here today. I’ve been blest to get to try another great non cleaning, human only product. Let me just say before the girls have a conniption, part of this post will apply to them as well. I’ve never been a big shopper. I’m a list gal. I make a list, go to the store, compare prices and only buy what’s on my list. Of course, living in a small town with limited resources and limited shopping choices made that pretty easy. However, when we got the computer, the whole world was now open to us. If you want it, you can find it on the internet. You can even find things you never knew you wanted. But, comparing prices and finding the best deal became a bit harder. I’ve always admired those coupon kings and queens, but I’m not very good at it myself. But, I still want, actually need to save money.

You’ve probably figured out by now, I’m a little vain, and hate aging. I’m fighting the wrinkles and gray hairs with everything I’ve got. So, when I was given my budget, I knew exactly what I wanted; it’s been on my frivolous list for a very long time. Diamond Microdermabrasion machines usually aren’t cheap, so, I did what I always do when looking for something expensive on a budget…I went to ebay.com. Yes, when we see something that we think we just can’t live without, one of the first places we check is ebay. That doesn’t mean we always get to buy it, but we do check and often add it to our list. And, Wikibuy works with ebay too. So, I found the perfect Microdermabrasion machine, brand new with warranty for $67.50. It arrived within a week and had everything I needed to get started except an instruction booklet. So, I contacted the seller and they responded within an hour and sent me a PDF of the complete instructions. As with anything, there’s good, better and best. The Pro Diamond Microdermabrasion machine I received is definitely top of the line for home use. It works perfectly and came with enough tips and filters for a years use.

I would for sure give it two thumbs up. Looks great, works great, arrived quickly, at a great price and their customer service is awesome. As for Wikibuy, I’m always up for an easy way of saving money and getting the best price. As I said earlier, the internet opens the world to you, and can sometimes be overwhelming. Anything that can make it easier is a good thing. Shopping shouldn’t be a chore, especially when shopping for everyday items. And with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, if you could save a little on the gift you might have enough left to still go out for dinner. Many thanks to Wikibuy and Ebay, I’m definitely enjoying my new Microdermabrasion machine. And the girls are just fine, they didn’t even miss not getting something this time.

Blest Sunday: Southern Hospitality Only Goes So Far

MeOW Raena, it’s time fur Blest Sunday.

          Sure ‘nuff sissy. And have we ever been Blessed. As most of ya’ know, we recently had visitors. Today, we’re gonna wrap up that visit. Ifin ya’ missed pawrt 1, you can read it here. Now, let’s get on with our visit.

Hey Gizmo, mine’s name is RaenaBelle.

 

 

We’ve had several peeps remawrk ‘bout how well we did havin’ Gizmo the kitty visit with us Raena. We should admit that there was a couple of hisses and one growl. We’re not meowin’ who did the hissin’ or the growlin’, since there was no fightin’ or whacky paws involved. Mommy says it was mostly pawsturin’ and lettin’ each other know when one was a bit too close fur comfurt. Ya’ know, it may be our nature to sniff backsides, but that doesn’t mean the sniffee actually enjoys it. Fur the most pawrt, we had a great and uneventful visit, kitties and humans too. Our Southern hospitality shined.

          Yeah sissy, awnty Mary Beth took lots of fotos of me and you with mommy. You know how happy that made mommy. She always says she doesn’t have many fotos of her with us. I’s could’a done with a good brushin’ tho’, cuz mine’s neck ruff was a bit wild. But, I’s really don’t care. I’s just luvs it when mommy holds me, ruffled furs or not.

          Well sissy, you missed what happened next cuz of those noisy thunder boomers. Uncle Garth left fur a few minutes and when he returned, he brought in a pizza. Oh Kittens  Did it ever smell delishus. But then, the worst thing that could’a happened, happened. Mommy didn’t even fix me a plate. Nope, not even a snack plate. ‘Stead, mommy, awnty Mary Beth and uncle Garth sat there eatin’ OUR PIZZA!!!  Can you believe it? I’s sure couldn’t. Don’t they know that pizzas are kitty food? Not to mention, pizza is our favorite food. I’s tried to help mine’s self to a slice, but I’s couldn’t balance on the wheelchair arm and open the box at the same time. So, I’s gave ‘em the ole kitty evil eye.

          Not very well. Least, they did leave us a piece each. Like that was gonna fill us up. Hmmmpht Even worse, mommy didn’t save us any of the pepperoni’s off the pieces she ate. I’s mean, she ate every last bite, just like we weren’t even there. The nerve. I’s tellin’ ya’, I’s just couldn’t believe mine’s own blue eyes. All mine’s Southern Belle hospitality flew right out the window when that happened. You know, Southern Hospitality can only go so far. And then, they wanted to take luvvy dovey fotos with me. Hmmmpht  Like that was gonna happen. MOL

Oh Raena, mommy takes really good care of us. Just cuz we didn’t get 1 pizza shouldn’t make you act ugly. We did get a piece later. And besides, we luv awnty Mary Beth, uncle Garth and Gizmo. Me was very purroud of you fur sharin’ the cat tree with him. And lettin’ awnty Mary Beth and uncle Garth hold you. Me was also purroud of ya’, that you didn’t get all jealous when mommy gave Gizzy some luvvin’.

          Of course I’s didn’t get jealous sissy. After all, he never took off his jacket (harness), so I’s knew he wasn’t actually stayin’. And, I’s know mommy has purrlenty of luvvin’ to go ‘round. Cousin Gizzy seemed to like the scent me up game too. Mommy said his motor boat started right up. I’s surpurrised he didn’t float right off her lap.

Hmmmpht You know better Raena. Mommy’s hold may look gentle, but she’s got a furm grasp on any kitty she holds. They ain’t goin’ anywhere lessen she wants ‘em too. MOL  Me sure hated that they had to leave so soon. Cuz of those thunder boomers, me missed sayin’ goodbye. So me looked fur them all day the next day.

Yep Raena. Ya’ know, we never ‘magined meetin’ any of our online furiends when we started all this. But, we have been so blessed that we’ve actually met quite a few of them. We’re always up fur a visit from our amazin’ furiends and wish we could meet you all. We’re sure hopin’ we can manage to go to BlogPaws this next year. It’s really close to us, so we’d hate to miss it. You’d have a great time Raena. Sis Lexi and me really had a blast the year we went.

Ya’ know, they sent us our kitty beds, toys and green papers and all kinds of goodies thru the years. Mostly, they’ve luvved us and our mommy. We are so blest to have so many pawsum furiends. And yep, YOU, yes you readin’ this posty are one of them. Fank you so much fur bein’ a pawrt of our lives. We luv you very much. We think ‘bout and purray fur all our furiends every day, you included. Like we always do, we’d like to remind you to take a minute today and every day to give thanks fur the blessings in your life.           I’s couldn’t have meowed it better mine’s self sissy. We’d also like to say, we think (paws crossed) the car’s fixed. Mommy ordered the pawrt and the neighbor boy put it on fur us this past week. Mommy’s still gotta make a few more short test drives just to be on the safe side, but we’re purretty sure, the car is good to go. We’ll keep ya’ posted. Mommy was shocked at the cost of oil and anti-freeze. So, mine’s VET ‘pointment is on hold fur a bit. Fanky fank you all fur your purrayers and good wishes. They do help. Lexi:Always and Furever

Furry Memories On Monday

MeOW and welcome to a memory filled Monday. That’s right, today all across the blogosphere we’re takin’ a moment to ‘member those that have left this earthly realm. We know you might have come here today fur our Service Cat Monday posty, and we hope you’ll join us next Monday when we’ll pick up where we last left off. But, today is a very special day; and havin’ lost a great luv, we decided to take part in Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. Altho’ we don’t believe in this Rainbow Bridge, we do believe in heaven, and that our luvved ones move on to a better place when they leave us.

Our furst memory today is of sis Lexi, mommy’s beluvved Service Cat and me’s much luvved sisfur. We miss her somethin’ fierce and hate that she had to go. Fur 17 years sis Lexi never left mommy’s side. Fur seven of those years, she was the bestest sisfur this girly could have ever asked fur. Sis Lexi was an Alpha cat from the minute she was born. Even tho’ she was the boss, she was almost always gentle ‘bout puttin’ me in me’s place. A lot of peeps only saw a black tabby cat when they looked at her. But to mommy and me, she was the most bootyful soul that ever lived. Even in her last days, she remained the majestic Empress and dutiful Service Cat. She could barely stand on her own four paws, but each day she was there to help mommy get her day started and end her days with luvvin’ massages. We will never unnerstand why she had to leave us; but, we’ll always ‘member her with a smile and luv in our hearts.

     We will at that sweet Dezi. Some days are better than others, but there will always be a hole in my heart that belonged to my beautiful Lexi. Good night my love, we will meet again. Lexi and I had known loss. Too much if you ask me, but God knows things I don’t. Even knowing that I would have to lose my precious fur babies, I wouldn’t have wanted to live my life without them. Before Dezi joined our family, Lexi and I had 5 great years with the very handsome Ragamuffin, Ransom. Bless his heart, he was all boy, all the time. He broke his leg when he was about 6 months old being rambunctious and throwing caution to the wind in his play. Just as his leg healed, he developed a severe UTI and his heart murmur got worse. He held on and fought to live four more years before leaving us for heaven. A piece of my heart will always belong to that fluffy little black kitty boy.

side for hours, daily.

 

 

     Before Ransom, there was Lucky, Lucky Luciano to be accurate. Altho’ named after a mobster, Lucky was the sweetest, most good natured Siamese I’d ever known. Born exactly 28 days before Lexi, they had grown up together and had a bond that almost killed her when he left. He was a gentle giant that loved spending time with me and his sisfur. He and Lexi were the first Service Cats to learn to drive the wheelchair. Nothing scared him. He was adventurous and giving. He regularly stepped back and let the gluttonous Lexi, who had scarfed down her meal, take his. He knew there would always be more. That mommy would always make sure he had plenty and never went hungry. He developed a sudden UTI that had him completely blocked. Unfortunately, my ignorance and lack of money cost him his life. I so miss his curious little apple headed face poking around the corner to spy on me. His journey to heaven left Lexi and me lost for years. When Lucky left, he took a big chunk of our hearts with him. I like to believe Lexi and Lucky are together again, waiting for me to join them in the happy hereafter.

     Devon, a boxy Himilayan, was an only cat when I decided to start fostering kittens for the rescue group that brought me Lucky and Lexi. He was such a good natured laid back boy, that he took it all in stride. He was a great Service Cat, and even liked to play daddy to the kittens I brought in. We fostered motherless kittens. Even when they would yell all night and keep us awake for weeks at a time, he would still coddle and bathe them and teach them how to be a cat. A brain tumor took him away much too young. Every time I see a kitty curled up in a sink, I smile and remember my sweet Himi boy. Altho’ he is missed, I’m grateful he’s no longer in pain and confused.

     I end my memories today with my faithful Shad, my first Service Cat. She was the original, and there will never be another like her. She and I had a hard life, but a life filled with love and devotion. It was her love and devotion for me that caused her to take action and train herself to help me after my accident. She was remarkable, silly, and her love knew no bounds. Whether we lived in our car or had a home with rooms and stability, she was happiest just being with me. She brought me thru some of the worst times in my life and taught me to love and trust again. She will always be missed. Again, at five years old, she was taken from this world far too soon. But, her legacy lives on in each cat that came after her. Good Night my sweet babies, we will be together again. And until that day, your love pushes me onward and fills our home. You will forever be remembered.

Thank you fur sharin’ the legacy of your Service Cats mommy. Me and Raena have some big paws to fill. Me is so grateful fur all the kitties who came befur me. They have helped shape and educate me’s mommy to be the mommy she is today. While she doesn’t know everythin’, their lives and losses has caused her to research and never give up. We don’t like to say good bye, cuz we know we will all be together again someday. So, till then, it’s not good bye, but Good Night. We’ll meet you all by the River of Life, when the Son calls us home. We wanna fank you all fur lettin’ us share these wonderful memories with you all today.           Uh, Who? Me? Uh, I’s just havin’ a little turkey tom lurkey. You know, mommy had another dentist ‘pointment yesfurday to get somethin’ called a soft liner in her new teethies. Seems she’s had trouble keepin’ ‘em in her mouth, and this soft liner stuff’s s’posed to help with that.

Yeah, me knows ‘bout the ‘pointment Raena, but where’d the turkey tom lurkey come from? Me knows you didn’t get it at the dentist office.

          You’re right sissy. But wouldn’t that be fun. Mommy says when she was little, the dentists always gave her a sucker after her ‘pointments. She’d get a long lecture ’bout eatin’ candy and how that was the reason she was losin’ a tooth, and then he’d go and give her a choice of suckers. Seems kind’a crazy, but I’s guess it assures him of future business. MOL  Anyways, right next door to the dentist office is an Arby’s. After talkin’ with a furiend who’s goin’ thru the exact same thing as mommy, and findin’ out he was able to eat a steak sammich and a pizza, mommy decided to give that sammich thing a try. Arby’s has these sammiches called sliders, that only cost a dollar ‘tween the hours of 2 and 5, so mommy said we just had to make a stop. But, we had to wait till we got back home to have any cuz mommy wanted to make sure we both got some.

 

Well then, where’s me’s bite? Did you already eat it up?

          Who? Meeeee? Nah, that wasn’t me sissy. Maybe we have a kitty ghost or somethin’.

Me thinks you did. But, that’s okay, me saw what ya’ll brought home the other day, and me purrfurs that to Arby’s turkey tom lurkey any day. Mommy had bought one of those tv dinners with turkey tom lurkey bites and was able to chew them up. She got purretty x’cited ‘bout that and then saw that turkey breasts were on sale at the grocery store fur $4.99. ‘Course, mommy headed fur the grocery store where she discovered they weren’t actually $4.99, but $4.99 a pound. So, mommy bought another bag of taters instead.

          Yep sissy, I’s know mommy has to be getting’ tired of taters, but there’s no way she was payin’ $5.00 a pound fur anythin’. But then, one of our angels sent mommy some green papers and told her to go get one of those breasts. So, we went back to the store and mommy found a different turkey tom lurkey fur less green papers. I’s tried to tell her to get the biggest one they had, but she said the one she picked out would be purrlenty fur the three of us. But, when we got home, mommy put him in the freezer. She said we had to wait till after she got that soft liner fur her teethies, and a weekend, when ‘lectric purrices were cheaper befur she’d be cookin’ him up. 

 

Ya’ know what that means don’t ya’ Raena? We’re havin’ turkey tom lurkey this weekend. Me can’t wait. 

 

          Me either. In the meantime, I’s’ll be happy to finish mommy’s sammich. Seems it’s still too early fur mommy to be bitin’ anythin’. Anyways, what did you do while mommy and me were gone yesfurday? 

 

Me took a nice long peaceful nap. Till the sky started grumblin’ that is. Me’s so tired of all these storms. Me was so glad to see ya’ll come walkin’ thru the door. Me was worried what with ya’ll bein’ out in the storms and all. 

 

          Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaw fanky fank you sissy. We worried ‘bout you bein’ home alone too.

Me’s glad to hear you were at least thinkin’ ‘bout me Raena. But, me does enjoy me’s alone time…well, sometimes me does. That sammich does smell good. Let’s go ask mommy fur a few more bites and try to visit some of our furiends befur the storms roll in again.
