Spa Day, Spay Day, Raena’s Growing Up

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me RaenaBelle. It’s so ugly and dark here today. We had some really loud thunder boomers last night. But I’s kept sis Dezi busy playin’ so she wouldn’t notice. Wasn’t dat nice of me?

       Playin’? Is dat what you call jumpin’ on me from da top of da chair, da tree, da scratchin’ post, and anywhere else you could find to jump off of from?

 

 

Sure sissy, wasn’t it fun? 

 

 

       Uh…Did me’s hisses and growls sound like it was fun Raena?

Hisses? Growls? Hmmmmm I’s didn’t hear any of dat sissy. I’s just thought it was da thunder.

       (Dezi shakes her head) Well Raena are you gonna get to your question?

Oh yeah, fanks fur remindin’ me sissy. As ya’ know, mines spa day is tomorrow. Mommy goes to see hers doctor today and then I’s goin’ fur a spay, whatever dat is, tomorrow. Mommy says this is completely routine and dat most all mines furiends have been thru it, but as always there are risks. So, I’s would fur sure purreciate your purrayers dat all goes well and I’s back to bein’ me in no time. Mommy will be stayin’ right by mines side da whole time, and she plans on takin’ fotos, ifin allowed. She used to volunteer with this clinic but doesn’t ‘member their pawlicies. She does ‘member a lot of da folks don’t want their fotos posted, so she might have to do a lot of blurrin’.  Anyways, we’ll keep ya’ll posted. We won’t be ‘round a lot this weekend, cuz of these things, but mommy did purromise to try to post at least an update after da deed on facebook. We of course will be here fur our regular Blest Sunday to tell you all ‘bout it.        Besides, it also means extra good treats. Anyways, we’ve gotta go so mommy can get ready fur hers ‘pointment. She could use some purrayers too. Da State mandated dat mommy and her doctor don’t know what’s bestest fur her and it’s been a really tough month fur mommy. So we’re purrayin’ somethin’ can be done to help her today. Anyways, we’re joinin’ Rascal and Rocco and their pawsum co-hosts fur da weekly Pet Parade. Check it out. We’re purrayin’ fur all our furiends, ‘specially those in da path of da storms. I’m Not Selfish, Mommy’s Being Mean

Hey? Is anypawdy out there? It’s me RaenaBelle. I’s got somethin’ to tell ya’. Mommy’s bein’ mean to us!!! Can you believe it?

But it’s true sissy. I saw it with mines own eyes, I did. You might’a been sleepin’ but I was right there.

 

 

       Yeah Raena, me’s sure you were. Mommy purrays all day everyday and asks God to purrtect you from yourself and keep ya’ from getting’ hurt or breakin’ somethin’. So me has no doubt you were “right” there. So just what did you see?

Sissy, I saw bunches of toys. I mean enuff to start our own toy store. All of ‘em fur us from da give away we won over at Three Chatty Cats. You know da one, da Honest Pet Products, where everythin’ is made from all natural stuffs. There’s all different kinds of toys even. And they smelled divine. Mommy layed ‘em all out and even got da flashy box after ‘em.

Ya’ did? Well I’s wasn’t sure, cuz you didn’t say anythin’ when all mommy gave us was one niptastic catty pillar. And she put everythin’ else away.

       Yeah me saw her Raena. And me heard her say dat she was gonna save some of those toys fur mes birthday, your spa day and maybe even Christmas. Mommy knows we’ll furget we even saw ‘em by then and dat we’ll be happy kitties when she brings one out.

But I’s wanted ‘em all right then.

       Yeah, me’s sure you did Raena. But dat’s very selfish. And besides, just how many toys can you actually play with at one time?

Well sissy, don’t you ‘member mines furst night here? I had never seen toys. And… (Raenas’ eyes get big remembering what she saw when placed on the floor)  MeOWWWwwwww I was runnin’ from one toy to another. So I can play with lots of toys at one time.

       Yeah Raena, me ‘members your furst night, and me ‘members you runnin’ in circles. It was really cute, and mommy and even me were happy dat you were havin’ a good time. Mommy even got a video of ya’. Ifin anypawdy missed it or ya’ just need a smile and a little chuckle, you can watch it here. But, there comes a time when you have to learn not to be selfish anymore and dat time is now. Don’t worry, mommy’ll give us da rest of those toys, just not today. Now, go play with your catty pillar. We were really blest and each got one of our own. And fur anypawdy wonderin’ ‘bout our a/c leak and da repairs of such, we have an update. Mommy did call da manager to demand a time fur da repairs. And da manager told mommy da maintenance man would be here Wednesday.

       (Dezi shakes head and rolls her eyes) No Raena, he wasn’t. Da manager showed up on Wednesday to tell mommy dat da rent was goin’ up again in October. We say again, cuz our rent just went up when we renewed our lease. She wanted mommy to initial da changes on our lease. Mommy reminded her dat we never got any notice of this increase, and this certainly isn’t 30 days notice. Then she purrceeded to tell mommy dat a a/c repairman would be here on Monday to fix da a/c. And she said, “It’s going to be messy.” Well duh!!! Did she want mommy to say furget ‘bout it then? Like leakin’ pipes and moldy carpet, floors and stuff ain’t messy. Yes, da woman’s an idiot. She has to be, right? Well at least da repairman should be qualified. MOL  Anyways, me needs to tell ya’ dat we’s joinin’ Rascal and Rocco and their pawsum co-hosts fur da Pet Parade. We hope you all have a pawsum weekend.

Friday Hijack

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. It’s Toss Up/Surprise Furiday and sis Dezi said I’s could take da lead. Isn’t she just da bestest sissy ever? …What’s dat mommy? She didn’t actually say I’s could take da lead? She was tryin’ to tell me to leave her alone so she could eat? Well isn’t dat da same thing? Ifin she’s eatin’ she obviously can’t be here to blog right? …It isn’t da same thing? Well it should be. And who cares, I’s here now and she isn’t. MOL  So anyways, I’s takin’ da lead today.

It’s been kinda crazy ‘round here this week. Mommy’s had to clean up all da mold from da a/c leak dat still isn’t fixed. Seems da maintenance man didn’t show up this week cuz he worked 3 days last week and dat was 2 more than he wants to work. Da office be closed today, so you know what mommy’ll be doin’ Monday, don’cha’? I’s wouldn’t wanna be da manager dat’s fur sure. You’ll get a clue why Service Cat Monday. Anyways, not sure how much more there is to clean and dry, but it’s lots of fun fur me. Things strewn everywhere…it’s like a kitty playground. Altho’ not sure dat’s what mommy intended. She sure does a lot of hissin’ at me.

       Raena, ya’ can’t just hijack da bloggy anytime you want. What ifin me had somethin’ special planned fur today?

       Well, No. But dat’s not da point. It’s me’s bloggy, me was here furst, and me’s da elder cat and Queen of da house.

Well sissy, I’s didn’t wanna say anythin’ but since ya’ brought it up… You have been lookin’ a little tired lately. And ya’ might wanna ask mommy ‘bout her beauty tricks fur getting’ rid of those bags unner your eyes.

       RaenaBelle!!! Furstly, dat’s not very nice. But more purrtantly, me’s a cat. Me doesn’t get bags under me’s eyes. And ifin me’s tired, dat would be your fault fur not lettin’ me nap. Didn’t you get da memo? Kittens, dat’s you, are ‘posed to sleep ‘tween 16 – 18 hours a day. 

Oh Catness sissy, I’s might miss somethin’.

       Trust me Raena, you ain’t gonna miss anythin’. We live ‘round a bunch of old folks like mommy. Da most excitement dat happens ‘round here is when da ambulance pulls in and everypawdy’s tryin’ to figger out who it’s fur.

What’s A Spa Day

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me RaenaBelle. It’s been a very eventful and wet week here. Wet both inside and out. By da way, our fotos today have nuffin’ to do with da posty, they’re just fur fun. As most of ya’ know, we had a little issue with da a/c leakin’ and da maintenance man findin’ dat we had a small leak in our hot water heater tank on Tuesday. So Wednesday da plumber and maintenance man both arrived…emptied handed. Not a tool between ‘em. Well not countin’ da flashlight app on da maint. mans fone. (shakes head) So anyways, they both huddled in da hall closet and da plumber announces dat da hot water heater has no leak. What purrobably happened he ‘splained, was dat when da maint. man poured water in da a/c trough to check it’s drainin’ ability, he likely spilled some of dat water on top of da hot water heater and then touched da pipe with hims wet fingers, thus makin’ it appear like a small leak. It would be laughable ifin it didn’t show how ignorant they are.

in da full empty 4 ounce container.

 

Da plumber did recommend dat da a/c pea trap be fixed asap or this could be a real purroblem. And then of course he stated, dat wasn’t somethin’ he could do (no license to work on a/c’s). And they both headed out da door. Mommy hollered at da maint. man and asked when he would be back to fix da a/c issue and he said, “I’ll let her (da manager) know you’d like that fixed in a timely manner”. Are you kiddin’ me? Don’t worry, mommy’s gonna stay on ‘em till it’s fixed. And ifin she has to call da home office to get it done, then so be it. Most of da cawrpet has dried and what hasn’t, mommy’s keepin’ an eye on. After all, we don’t want mold.

As fur da outside, it’s been stormin’ all week long. Sometimes da sky rumbles so long it seems it’s gonna last furever. Mommy seems really happy cuz everytime da storm starts sis Dezi comes over to her fur some extra luvvin’. Pawrently befur I came here sis Dezi hid out durin’ da storms. Don’t know what she was so ‘fraid of, it’s just a little noise. Okay, so sometimes it’s a lot of noise, but still, it’s just noise. I’s just glad I’s could be a good influence on her. (Raena snickers quietly) 

 

Dezi:        Hey pip squeak! Me’s da influencer. Me’s da older sisfur and it’s me’s job to be an example fur you. Me’s not hidin’ out cuz you don’t, me’s not hidin’ out to show you dat it’s okay and you’re safe. Me’s not afraid of nuffin’!!! (thinks to herself) Yeah, dat’s it, me’s bein’ a good example fur you.

Raena: And you are sissy. You’s a great example. Speakin’ of teachin’, mommy made me a ‘pointment fur a spa day next month but she won’t tell me what it means. Lady peeps seem to luv spa days, but I’s not really want mines claws painted, so what else do they do?

 

Dezi:        Uh…(Dezi thinks back and gets a little nervous)  Well Raena, every little girly and little tommy boy goes fur a spa day once in their lives. Don’t worry, you’ll get lots of treats and luvvin’ and maybe even some bacon afterwards.

Raena: Bacon Dezi, really? I’s hear all our furiends talk ‘bout it but I’s never had any. Is it good?

 

Dezi:        Oh yes Raena, it’s delishus.

 

Raena: Oh Dezi I’s sure hope mommy gets da money fur mines spa day. She says it’s gonna run ‘bout $65.00, and fankfully is not at our regular VETs office. I’s wouldn’t have called any trip there a special day. Ifin you can help send me fur mines spa day I’s sure would purreciate it. I’s not have a clue what dat means, but I’s guess ya’ll do. Anyways, I’s gotta go. Mommy’s a little upset with me cuz I’s not eatin’ good. She just restocked our noms and I’s turnin’ mines nose up at it all. She doesn’t have any more money to buy anythin’ else, so she’s not sure what to do. Maybe some purrayers would help.
