Tell All Tuesday: Keeping The Gut Healthy During Stressful Holidays

Hey everypawdy, it’s me, RaenaBelle, comin’ to ya’ live from the ranch. Can you believe it? It’s almost Christmas!!! I’s so x’cited, I’s can barely contain mine’s self. I’s been slidin’ down the hall on the piddle pads and zoomin’ up and down the liberty tree like a hunnerd times a day. Mommy says I’s make her head spin sometimes. I’s not seen her head spinnin’, but maybe I’s was zoomin’ too fast. Let me tell ya’, it’s turned cold, cold, cold again and I’s really been enjoyin’ cuddle time with mommy. Ya’ know, that’s mine’s favorite thing in the whole world.

RaenaBelle, take a breath. Me’s x’cited too, but ya’ don’t see me flyin’ ‘round like a hooligan.

Well of course not sissy, we’re kitties, we can’t fly. ‘Member, I’s learned that one the other day.

Yeah Raena, me ‘members. But, me wasn’t meanin’ me was literally flyin’, it’s just a figger of speech.

Another figger of speech, sissy? Why is it okay fur you to use those figgers and not me? Every time I’s use one, you make fun of me or try to correct me.

Not always Raena, just the times you use one wrong, or say somethin’ really stupid.

I’s not stupid sissy. Mommy says that’s not nice to call somepawdy stupid.

Me’s not callin’ you stupid Raena, just some of the things you meow. There’s a big difference. Mommy says even the smartest peeps in the world sometimes say stupid things. Anyways, we need to tell everypawdy ‘bout the new stuffs we’ve been tryin’ out from Tomlyn. The holidays can be a stressful time fur peeps and anipals alike. What with all the hustle and bustle of shoppin’, decoratin’ and visitin’/guests, our tummies can get upset, or we can get nervous or scared. There might even be days when our schedules get thrown all out of whack. During those times, good supplements can make all the difference. Now we don’t get lots of treats ‘round here, but the truth is, we’re kind’a picky and don’t like a lot of treats. So, it makes it kind’a hard fur mommy to know what to get fur us.

Ain’t that the truth sissy. And sometimes we’ll eat one treat once and never touch it again. But one thing we do like is a good sprinklin’ of pre/probiotics on our noms. Mommy says they’re good fur helpin’ to keep our guts healthy. But, not all pre/probiotics are the same. We purrsonally don’t like flavored pre/probiotics, so we were happy to learn the Tomlyn Pre & Pro Biotics were flavorless and colorless. We can be picky, but we really liked these. They say to feed one packet mixed with food and water daily. So, mommy uses half the packet fur brekky and the rest fur dinner. While these are help maintain our gut health during stressful times, they’re purrfect fur every day use as well. Mommy thinks they’re a bit on the ‘spensive side, but she does luvs to see us gobble down our meals. And mommy’s always happy when we’re happy. We also tried out Tomlyn’s tasty hairball treats and paste as well as the sterile eye wash. So far, we’re all paws up fur the Tomlyn products.

Yeah Raena, me’s gotta meow, me really liked the hairball treats. They’re a little big, but they’re a soft chew, and easy fur mommy to break up into smaller pieces. Hey everypawdy, it’s me, RaenaBelle. Can you believe it? It’s almost Christmas!!! I’s just can’t wait. In t’ween tryin’ to ketch up on our visits, take care of mommy and nap, we’ve been shoppin’ hard fur the bestest gifts to put on our big Gift Guide next week. And yes, we’ve got ideas fur the whole family, men included…and no, they’re not ties, socks or underwear. Mommy said I’s needed to meow that so you all won’t worry. Ya’ know, cuz what could a house of girly’s know ’bout gifts fur men, right?. Sissy? Are ties, socks and underwear not good gifts?

No Raena, there’s nuffin’ wrong with those things as gifts, but they’re not very creative. It’s like the gift one gives when they don’t know what else to think of.

Hmmmmpht Well, I’s can tell ya’ after seein’ some of the holes in mommy’s socks and drawers, I’s know she was thrilled with the new socklets awnty Cindy just sent her. Anyways, we didn’t pick any fur the menfolk. You’ll just have to stop by and check out the guide. We think we’ve got some pawsum picks that just ‘bout anypawdy would be happy to receive.

Me totally agrees Raena. But, that’s next week; today we need to tell everypawdy ‘bout this new food we tried the other day.

Uh, well, why don’t we get to that pawrt after we tell everypawdy ‘bout the basics. Like, mommy would purrfur that we could eat a variety of things, at least every once in a while. You know, ya’ just never know what might happen in the future, so it’s always good fur us kitties to have at least a couple of options so we don’t have to go hungry. As most of ya’ know, we eat freeze dried raw.

Mommy would purrfur we eat all raw sissy.

That’s true Raena. But, mommy is happy enuff that we eat freeze dried raw, so she doesn’t push us…least not yet. Anyways, she would like to find a couple of quality canned foods that we could eat just in case.

The ingredient list doesn’t look too bad. The variety pack, 12) 3 oz. cans comes in poultry and tuna or seafood and chicken for $14.99. You can also buy them in single flavor packs for the same price. As you can see from our fotos, the contents of the can look like shredded or pulled meat in water/oil. There’s purrlenty of juice in the cans. Mommy says the juice contains some oil based on it’s appearance. She also said that the longer it was on the plate, it appeared to oxidize. Three hours after opening the can and putting it out, the liquid had the appearance of dirty dishwater. I’s sniffed it from afar, but wouldn’t go near it. Furthermore, I’s wouldn’t touch mine’s regular food either till it was removed from mine’s mat.

As you can see by me’s foto, me did check it out and then me looked over at Raena’s pawtion, just to see ifin hers might have looked better or somethin’. Me sniffed it a few times and then ate me’s regular dinner. It smelled kind’a funny. Me would have normally at least lapped up the juice, but this one just wasn’t fur me.

Uh, you need to move that stuffs so I’s can eat mine’s dinner now.

Me either sissy. And the fish formula’s have the bad vit. K ingredient, Menadione Sodium Bisulfate Complex. Since we don’t eat fish, this wasn’t a very big concern fur us, but should be fur the fish eaters. While this food doesn’t make the cut in our house, Chewy has purrlenty of things that do, and at great prices. They have pawsum customer service peeps and free speedy shipping on all orders of $49.00 and more. There’s a low flat rate shipping charge for all other orders. Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. The colds are here. We went to bed last night with the air conditioner on and woke up as frozen pawp-sicles. Even mommy’s purrsonal summers didn’t keep her from shiverin’. She says that’s what happens at 17°. Even sissy got in on the cuddlin’.

Of course me did Raena. It was cold, what’d you x’pect me to do?

I’s don’t know sissy, you’re the one always complainin’ ‘bout me wantin’ to cuddle. You always meow that cuddlin’ with me makes you too hot.

Me wasn’t cuddlin’ with you Raena, me was cuddlin’ with mommy. You just happened to be in the same vicinity. MOL Anyways, me’s hopin’ mommy turns on the ‘lectric fireplace soon. Me luvs layin’ in front of it durin’ the cold ugly days of winter.

The ‘lectric fireplace? Is it new sissy? I’s don’t seem to ‘member a fireplace.

Nah Raena, it ain’t new. You purrobably don’t ‘member it cuz the lights burned out last year. But, mommy put new lights in it this year, so it should look fine now. We can enjoy the lights right along with it’s heat.

Well sissy, that does sound like fun. Altho’ I’s do purrfur cuddlin’ with mommy fur heat and luvs. I’s actually purrfur cuddlin’ with mommy over purretty much anythin’.

Oh yeah, I’s ‘member those. We were really disappointed that the only option available was fish. We don’t get many treats in our house and we rarely get fish. But, since these were 1 ingredient only, mommy said we could try ‘em out. Turns out, we don’t like fish any more than mommy does. I’s didn’t even stick around to sniff the plate.
