Blest Sunday: Chatty Cats Plan A Party

Welcome to a very special Blest Sunday. What makes it special, you ask?

Yeah sissy, what makes this Blest Sunday so special?

Me’s so glad you asked. It’s special cuz you’re here. All our furiends are here, and that makes everythin’ purrfect.

I’s thought you meant me, sissy?.

Me does Raena. You’re special too. As most peeps know by now, we only post on Monday, Wednesday, Furiday and of course, on Blest Sunday. And this year, your furst year here with mommy and me, your Gotchaday is on a Fursday. We wanna throw you a pawsum Gotchaday pawrty, Raena; but we don’t normally post on Fursdays. And, this week in purrticular is gonna be a busy one fur mommy. So, since we celebrate Birthday’s and Gotchaday’s all month long, we’ve decided to have your pawrty on Furiday the 9th. And, guess what?

What sissy? What’s better than a pawrty weekend?

Everypawdy’s invited!!! All our furiends and awnties and uncles, and yes, Simon.

Oh sissy, that’s pawsum!!! I’s can’t hardly wait. But sissy, why’s mommy gonna be so busy this week? Is she gonna have time to purrpare fur mine’s pawrty?

Well Raena, mommy has her regular monthly doctor’s ‘pointment on Monday, and then a dentist ‘pointment on Fursday. And, it’s time fur us to recertify our lease, so mommy has to get all our papers and stuffs in order so she can turn ‘em in on time. Ya’ know, so we can have a place to live fur another year.

Is that why mommy’s been so stressed lately? And who’s gonna go with mommy to her ‘pointments?

Yes, Raena, lease re-cert always makes mommy stressed. She says they keep wantin’ to invade our purrivacy more and more each year. Mommy says it sometimes makes her feel like a trained seal; jump thru this hoop, and now this one. And, don’t furget to smile and be grateful the whole time; cuz don’ch’a know at the end, you’ll have this meowvelous 400 sq. ft. ‘partment where we’re gonna bug ya’ to death with inspections. As fur those ‘pointments, it’s s’posed to storm all week, so you’ll be the one accompanyin’ mommy. Besides, since mommy’s dental ‘pointment is on your Gotchaday, mommy said ya’ll would be goin’ somewhere special so you can get a supurr special treat. Mommy purromissed to bring somethin’ special home fur me too.

Really sissy? I’s gonna get a supurr special treat? (Raena gets excited and starts spinning around) Now I’s really can’t wait!!!

Well Raena, you’re gonna have to wait a few more days. By the way, one of our newer furiends said they didn’t know what a Gotchaday was. We ‘member bein’ new to the innernets once and not knowin’ ‘bout Gotchadays too, so we thought we should ‘splain. A Gotchaday is the day a rescued furry goes to live in their furever home. It can also be called an Adoptaversary, Adoption Day or in some cases, it’s the day your humans have decided to make your Birthday. Offen, peeps don’t know the actual birthday of their beluvved furry, so they will just assign a day to celebrate.

And that’s okay too sissy. Whatever day you celebrate your furry, is the purrfect day.

Sure ‘nuff Raena. One of the reasons we celebrate all month long is that mommy rarely has money on our special day; so she figgers ifin we celebrate all month, surely at some point in that month she’ll have enuff green papers to buy us a little somethin’ special. Even ifin it’s just a bag of cheap treats or a dollar mousey from the dollar store. So, every day is a special day in our house.

I’s like that sissy. It also means, lots of extra cuddles and luvvin’ all month long. I’s did hear mommy sayin’ that we were gonna be goin’ to her favorite beauty store, Ulta, this week.

Me heard that too, Raena. Fanks to awnty Ellen who sent mommy a gift card, she can actually buy somethin’ this trip.

Snowball in ball gown — Snowball dressed to the nines fur the big Gone with the Wind pawrty we had in 2015.

Yep sissy, mommy must’ve cried a million tears when she got that gift card. Knowin’ that awnty Ellen had been dealin’ with Snowball’s illness and then sudden loss, and yet, she was still thinkin’ ‘bout mommy’s special day.

Ya’ know Raena, we luv all our furiends so very much, and purray fur them every day. It broke our hearts when Snowball went to heaven, just like with all our furiends who have joined me’s sis Lexi. We just don’t unnerstand why these things have to happen.

I’s fur sure don’t unnerstand it sissy. But maybe it’s cuz God knows there’s another furry out there who needs you more. So, He has to make an openin’ and takes the one who is sufferin’ the most to be with Him. We all know, that once ya’ leave this world, you return to your once purrfect state. There’s no more pain, sickness, or old age. I’s know you and mommy really miss Lexi (God rest her), but ifin she hadn’t gone to heaven, who knows where I’s might have been?.

Yep, Raena, that’s so true. Anyways, as much as mommy and me miss Lexi, we luv you very much and are really glad you’re pawrt of our furmily now. We should also say a meowsy big fank you to awnty Anonymous fur givin’ mommy some green papers fur her birthday, and sendin’ her some more of that powdered cheese and mac noodles. She even told mommy more of that shelf milk to make it up with was on it’s way.

Oh sissy, we are so blest to have so much.

That’s true, Raena. We are blest indeed. We give fanks fur all of our furiends, and ask God to bless ya’ll beyond your dreams. We also wanna remind you to take a minute today and every day to give thanks fur the blessings in your lives.

Chatting Cats: A Storm of Silvervine

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle. Sissy, I’s think our furiends are gettin’ angry with us, not visitin’ regular and all.

Well Raena, me thinks our furiends are more unnerstandin’ than that. You know, storms, human mommy business, and the likes are out of our control. Speakin’ of storms, we were asked ifin mommy could get a video of the storm. So, when the thunder started rollin’ in the Wednesday, mommy grabbed the camera and headed to the door.

Yep sissy, and you headed down the Liberty cat tree and UTB so fast mine’s head was spinnin’.

Yep Raena, ya’ know, that safe thing? You’re not s’posed to be out in it or sittin’ by the windows. But where did you go? To the cat tree so you could poke your head out the door. You and mommy weren’t bein’ safe at all.

Well, I’s didn’t stay too long. The wind was blowin’ that rain inside the door. It kept hittin’ me in the face. I’s get enuff of that when we’re draggin’ mommy outta the shower. Anyways, we have a new video editor that mommy hasn’t got a clue how to use yet, so we had to use the Youtube editor. We tried to lighten the video as much as pawssible, cuz it was really dark outside. And, mommy says she can’t hear the thunder on it. When the lightnin’ started, mommy turned the camera off and shut the door really fast. We have a yard full of huge oak trees, and mommy says they’re a lightnin’ magnet.

Yep Raena, goes back to that safe thing me was meowin’ ‘bout. Anyways, me’s so tired of storms and meowin’ ‘bout storms, let’s meow ‘bout somethin’ else.

Like what sissy? Oooooh let’s meow ‘bout that silvervine we got. Awnty Vonda sent us a whole 5 packets of the vine. Ya’ know, she gave us that pawsum Litter Genie fur mine’s birthday, and she sent us some refills recently and included a package of Purrk.

Me does luv the vine Raena.

I’s do too sissy. We must’ve rolled ‘round fur hours in that finely ground powder stuffs. Ya’ reckon she sent that cuz mine’s Gotchaday is comin’ up on the 8th?

Maybe Raena. Can you believe you’ve been here almost a whole year now?

Not really sissy. But I’s do know, I’s can barely ‘member that pawful cage where I’s came from. I’s so glad mommy came to save me. Are you glad I’s here, sissy?

Me is Raena. Me may not always act like it, but me’s glad mommy saved you too; even ifin you’re a pain in me’s floofy bloomers sometimes. Speakin’ of, we oughtta go play befur the thunder boomers start again.

We Remember: Thank You for Your Service

No matter how we as individual Americans feel about politics, the president, representatives, political parties, skirmishes and wars, we all have one thing in common…we live in a Country of freedoms paid for with the blood, sweat, limbs, and lives of those who were willing to put themselves in between us and those who would try to enslave us. Peace and Freedom, require a price that not all have the ability to give, but those who do, pay it for us all. The right to speak or write your opinion, to disagree with the president and say so, the right to own a gun or rifle, the right to worship the Lord the way you choose, or not too, the right to protest, the right to live the life you choose: these are just a few of the freedoms we take for granted each and every day. But for each, there was a price a soldier had to pay.

That’s right sissy. Each day that we write a post adding our opinions to this thing called the world wide web, we are exercising the rights a soldier bled and died for. America, is indeed the Greatest Country in the world. She has always stood for Liberty and Justice for all. The recent influx of muslim ideals has caused a real division in this Country.

Yep Raena, and we think peeps aren’t truly aware of the realities of what muslims actually believe. If they were, there would be a lot less division. Take a look at the countries ruled by Islam and Sharia law; they ARE NOT FREE!!! Women and Minorities, have NO rights. There is no other place on this planet where you will find the freedoms we have here in the United States of America. This is just the latest in a long line of peoples/ideals trying to enslave us. Those soldiers who fight and have fought often find/found themselves serving in Countries where they aren’t/weren’t allowed to exercise the basic freedoms they are/were fighting for. But, because they so believed in everybody’s right to freedom, they willingly left their families and homes not knowing if they would ever return. We are ashamed of how some have treated returning soldiers in the past. Again, we may not agree with the war, but we should always come together as a Country of free people and support those who are willing to put themselves between us and danger.

9/11 was a real wake up call to this Country. We go about our daily lives and give no thought to what’s going on in the rest of the world. And yet, every day American soldiers are somewhere in foreign lands fighting to keep us safe, to make life better for all. We don’t worry about bombs going off in our cities and towns, schools or churches. Unlike many countries, we don’t worry about soldiers or terrorists knocking down our doors and raping the women and children and killing the men. We protest without a fear of being executed. We do these things because of those soldiers, those men, women and animals, fathers, sons, brothers, mothers, daughters and sisters who put themselves on a wall and say, “Not on my watch.”

To those soldiers and their families, we say, THANK YOU!!! God Bless You!!! We support you, and we are praying for you. And for all those who never came home alive or the same and their families, we are so grateful for your service and sacrifice. We cherish the freedom every drop of blood gave us. We will Never Forget the price you paid. Again, THANK YOU!!!

We carefully and thoughtfully, and yes, tearfully chose the videos we’re sharin’ with you all today. We do hope you’ll take the few minutes required to watch them. And purrrrrrrrrrlease, remember to thank any soldier or vet you may meet at any time. You are living a free life they fought for.

Blest Sunday: Chatting Cats: In The Dark

Raena, hurry up!!! We gotta write this post while the power’s on.

I’s comin’ sissy. I’s had to go to the pawdee box. Mommy wouldn’t have been very happy with me ifin she’d stepped in a piddle puddle; ‘specially ifin the power was off and she couldn’t see it. What’s up with the power anyways?

It’s the storms Raena.

Well I’s don’t know ‘bout you sissy, but I’s could do without that all these storms. And I’s fur sure don’t like it when the power goes off. It’s really dark…AND HOT!!!

Well Raena, me could do without the storms too. As fur the heat, it’s summer now. It’s only gonna get hotter.

Hotter than a 110°? I’s don’t know how it could be 110° and stormin’ at the same time. That was just crazy!!!

Yeah Raena, that baffled me a bit too. At least we were able to give mommy lots of extra cuddles fur her birthday. It may have been hot, and stormin’, and dark; ‘specially without the power. But, we really are blest kitties to have a luvvin’ home and mommy. While it was thunderin’ and lightnin’, and the rain and hail was fallin’, we were cuddled up safe and sound with mommy.

You’re right sissy. Mommy said she was so purroud of you fur not spendin’ the day UTB. She was also grateful, cuz she had thought the storms weren’t due till late last night and had already ordered mine’s birthday pizza awnty Anonymous sent me.

Uh, yeah. Me ain’t missin’ out on pizza Raena. Was that the furst pizza you’ve ever had?

Nope, I’s had some at your birthday last year sissy. I’s luvs pizza. Mommy got her some free breadsticks fur bein’ a part of the Pizza Hut birthday purrogram, so we all had somethin’ yummy to eat in the dark.

We sure did. We also wanna fank awnty Vonda and awnty Petal fur sendin’ mommy some green papers fur her birthday. Awnty Vonda told mommy, it was “whatever” money. She doesn’t get that kind of money very offen, so she’s gonna think long and hard ‘bout what to get with it.

We got a box too Dezi. We don’t know who sent it or why, but we sure were in some serious need of kitty litter. So we really purreciate the 3 bags of Garfield kitty litter we received. Fanky fank ya’, whoever you are.

Don’t furget to put some o’ dat litter in the other box too mommy.

We are Raena. We didn’t get to play with the box, cuz mommy tore it apart lookin’ fur anythin’ that said who sent it. We hadn’t mentioned to anypawdy that we were runnin’ really low, so we were all kind’a shocked when mommy opened the box. We have the bestest furiends in the Universe!!!

We sure do sissy. (Thunder claps outside and the power flashes off and back on again) Fanky fank the cats, the catputer saved our posty. We better wrap this up befur mommy or the weather shuts us down again.

Yep Raena, me has a date anywhere away from the windows. We really are blest to have so much. We wanna remind you all to take a minute today and everyday to give thanks fur the blessings in your lives. We will be skippin’ our regular Service Cat Monday posty tomorrow, as it’s Memorial day, and you all know how patriotic we are, and grateful fur all those who serve and have served our country to ensure our freedoms and safety. But don’t worry, we’ll be back to our regular schedule next week. We’re dealin’ with “Aggression” right now, and you don’t wanna miss it.
