What’s A Spa Day

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me RaenaBelle. It’s been a very eventful and wet week here. Wet both inside and out. By da way, our fotos today have nuffin’ to do with da posty, they’re just fur fun. As most of ya’ know, we had a little issue with da a/c leakin’ and da maintenance man findin’ dat we had a small leak in our hot water heater tank on Tuesday. So Wednesday da plumber and maintenance man both arrived…emptied handed. Not a tool between ‘em. Well not countin’ da flashlight app on da maint. mans fone. (shakes head) So anyways, they both huddled in da hall closet and da plumber announces dat da hot water heater has no leak. What purrobably happened he ‘splained, was dat when da maint. man poured water in da a/c trough to check it’s drainin’ ability, he likely spilled some of dat water on top of da hot water heater and then touched da pipe with hims wet fingers, thus makin’ it appear like a small leak. It would be laughable ifin it didn’t show how ignorant they are.

day I’s couldn’t go. Those were some delishus treats

in da full empty 4 ounce container.

 

Da plumber did recommend dat da a/c pea trap be fixed asap or this could be a real purroblem. And then of course he stated, dat wasn’t somethin’ he could do (no license to work on a/c’s). And they both headed out da door. Mommy hollered at da maint. man and asked when he would be back to fix da a/c issue and he said, “I’ll let her (da manager) know you’d like that fixed in a timely manner”. Are you kiddin’ me? Don’t worry, mommy’s gonna stay on ‘em till it’s fixed. And ifin she has to call da home office to get it done, then so be it. Most of da cawrpet has dried and what hasn’t, mommy’s keepin’ an eye on. After all, we don’t want mold.

As fur da outside, it’s been stormin’ all week long. Sometimes da sky rumbles so long it seems it’s gonna last furever. Mommy seems really happy cuz everytime da storm starts sis Dezi comes over to her fur some extra luvvin’. Pawrently befur I came here sis Dezi hid out durin’ da storms. Don’t know what she was so ‘fraid of, it’s just a little noise. Okay, so sometimes it’s a lot of noise, but still, it’s just noise. I’s just glad I’s could be a good influence on her. (Raena snickers quietly) 

 

Dezi:        Hey pip squeak! Me’s da influencer. Me’s da older sisfur and it’s me’s job to be an example fur you. Me’s not hidin’ out cuz you don’t, me’s not hidin’ out to show you dat it’s okay and you’re safe. Me’s not afraid of nuffin’!!! (thinks to herself) Yeah, dat’s it, me’s bein’ a good example fur you.

Raena: And you are sissy. You’s a great example. Speakin’ of teachin’, mommy made me a ‘pointment fur a spa day next month but she won’t tell me what it means. Lady peeps seem to luv spa days, but I’s not really want mines claws painted, so what else do they do?

 

Dezi:        Uh…(Dezi thinks back and gets a little nervous)  Well Raena, every little girly and little tommy boy goes fur a spa day once in their lives. Don’t worry, you’ll get lots of treats and luvvin’ and maybe even some bacon afterwards.

Raena: Bacon Dezi, really? I’s hear all our furiends talk ‘bout it but I’s never had any. Is it good?

 

Dezi:        Oh yes Raena, it’s delishus.

 

Raena: Oh Dezi I’s sure hope mommy gets da money fur mines spa day. She says it’s gonna run ‘bout $65.00, and fankfully is not at our regular VETs office. I’s wouldn’t have called any trip there a special day. Ifin you can help send me fur mines spa day I’s sure would purreciate it. She just restocked our noms and I’s turnin’ mines nose up at it all. She doesn’t have any more money to buy anythin’ else, so she’s not sure what to do. Maybe some purrayers would help. Okay sissy. Treats!!! We got these things called Treats. OMC They are da cat’s meow, da bees knees, da…well anyways, we got Treats. They’re called Pure Bites Freeze Dried Chicken Breast. They’re little pieces of divine white chicky meat and nuffin’ else. Mommy and sis Dezi say they come in other flavors too, and let me tell ya’ ifin they’re anythin’ like these, they gotta be good. I’s couldn’t get enuff. But mommy says they’re “specials” and dat we don’t get them all da time, and dat we only get a few each time. What’s up with dat? I want more and I’s want ‘em now. After all, there’s only 1 calorie in each piece and mommy breaks da pieces up. And besides, she keeps sayin’ I’s need more meat on mines bones. Come on mommy, just give me da whole bag.

Thanks Raena. As you all know me luvs freeze dried chicken breasts and these Pure Bites hit da spot. Me gives ‘em 4 paws up too. Me asked mommy and she said she was thrilled we both like them and readily ate them. No mumblin’ or grumblin’ at treat time. She luvs dat there’s only 1 ingredient and it’s da protein, and dat they be low calorie. They’re $3.49 fur 0.60 oz, so mommy thinks they’re a bit expensive ‘specially since a lot of da bag is already crumbled up and not whole pieces. But she says she can use da crumbles as a topping fur our meals, so it’ll still get used. We mentioned these come in different flavors and they also make bigger bags fur da doggies. Meowllo everypawdy and Monday too. We were actually excited fur Monday to get here this week. We told ya’ last week dat sis Lexi seems to get sick late Furiday after da VETs close and then starts feelin’ better late Sunday; just in time to not have to go to da VET on Mondays. Well it happened again this weekend, so we kuldn’t wait fur Monday to come rollin’ in so sissy wuld start feelin’ better. And sure ‘nuff, she’s duin’ much better today. While talkin’ with others, we’s found out this is quite common among our older and/or sick furiends. Good days and bad ones seem to come and go in a cycle. Da really good thing ‘bout sis Lexi’s bad days this weekend is dat she was still eating and able to keep most of da noms down. And dat brings me to today’s posty.

As Chewy.com #Influencers, we get to try a lot of great purroducts; and this month was no exception. As you all know me recently changed me’s eatin’ habits to a raw freeze dried diet. It’s yummy and me’s a lot healthier. So when da opportunity came to try out sum freeze dried liver treats we was all over it. We received a 2 ounce package of Primal Freeze Dried Pork Liver Munchies. Now there’s only 1 ingredient in these treats and it’s pork liver. Yep liver from da pig and nuffin’ else. Primal uses only pork raised in da USA without antibiotics or added hormones. These treats are grain and gluten free with no preservatives or added salt or sugars. Primal has a variety of flavors in a variety of textures.

Now let me tell ya’ a little sumfin’ ‘bout freeze dried foods and treats in general. Some are kinda soft and easily break or crumble and some are really hard, similar to a kibble. Mommy sez it’s mostly cuz of da protein source. This is one of da reasons we have sed dat switchin’ your cat from kibble might be easier with freeze dried noms. Dat bein’ sed, da Pork Liver Munchies we received are on da harder side of freeze dried. Livers usually are. Da pieces are kinda big and needed to broken up into smaller bite size pieces. So let’s get to da taste testin’.

Mommy broke up a piece and offered it to me and sis Lexi. Sis Lexi immediately grabbed a piece and started gummin’ it. It wasn’t too long and she spit it out and walked off. It was a little hard fur a mature girly with no teeth. Well since sissy spit it out there was no way me was gunna try it. So off me went too. A few days later when sis Lexi was nappin’ and mommy and me was havin’ some special alone time she offered me a few bite size pieces. Me looked ‘em over and had a good sniff and then took one. Yep me had furgotten ‘bout sissy spittin’ it out and was ready to give ‘em a try fur me’s self. Me chewed and then switched it to da other side of me’s mouth and chewed sum more. Finally me spit it out too. Dat munchie was still in one piece. It had a few extra holes, and was a bit slimy now but still looked like it did when me started chewin’. Me picked it up and repeated da earlier steps and spit it out again. Thinkin’ maybe me got a bad piece, me took a fresh one from mommy’s open hand and started chewin’ away at it. It didn’t take me long to spit it out too. Me was done. No more lookin’ sniffin’ or chewin’ fur me. These things were too hard and there was no pay off. Me never got anythin’ to swallow. What’s up with dat? Ifin me can’t get it to me’s belly then it ain’t food or treat accordin’ to sissy, and me has to agree.

Sissy sed we needed to be fair and truthful as always in our review, so we both give da Primal Pork Liver Munchies 1 paw up cuz we were innerested enuff to try them. But since neither of us kuld actually chew them up enuff to swallow, we won’t be buyin’ any. Now me knows you wanna know what mommy thought, so here she is.

Thank you baby. I wish you and Lexi would/could have eaten them because liver is a great source of protein. I love the fact that there’s nothing in them but the pork liver. There’s no bad or controversial ingredients in them. That’s always a plus in my book. Altho they are a bit hard, they are still fairly easily broken into smaller pieces. And because it’s just pork liver, the treats are great for mixed households. Doggy and kitty can both have the same treat at treat time. The bag is pretty full so the price of $6.99 is fair. But because y’all didn’t actually eat them, I can only give them 1 thumb up.

But purrobly not a good choice fur da kitties with teeth purroblems or no teeth. They’re a bit hard so not everykitty is gunna like ‘em but most of our peeps will luv them cuz of da goodness of ‘em. It’s time fur anudder weview. We awe so fankful to all da peeps we met at BlogPaws and bein’ able to work wiff ‘em and twy out so many pawsum purroducts. Da ones weez gunna tell ya’ ‘bout today is sumfin’ everypawdy can use. Vetriscience is a gweat company dat makes pawsum supplements. Weez got to twy out several of these supplements over da last mumff. Da furst one meez gunna tell ya’ ‘bout is called Perio Support. It be fur kitties and doggies and helps wiff dental healff. It be furmulated by VETs to contwol plaque furmulations and purrmote gum healff. It dusn’t take da place of VET cleanings but is to work in conjunction to purrmote good dental healff. It comes in a 4.2 ounce powder dat yous spwinkle over yous kitty or doggies food. And it tastes good. Even picky me likes it. As you know weez always tell da twuff, so mommy didn’t give much to sissy since she dusn’t weally have teefies. Mommy gave her a little, but ‘cided she alweady adds so much to sis Lexi’s noms and she dusn’t weally need it, so she left it to me to weview. Me gives it 4 paws up. It tastes good and pawently might help me keep meez teefies longer than sissy did. Mommy sez it’s weally easy to use so she luvs it. 2 fumms up fwum da hooman.

Da next purroduct meez gunna tell ya’ ‘bout is GlycoFlex. This be a feline joint support tweat. Altho’ they do make them fur da doggies too. They contain Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM, Antioxidants and Perma Mussel. Da purrpuss is to help cushion joints, purrmote cartilage building and alleviate discomfort caused by natural daily activities. They be a soft chew so they be easy to chew. Me didn’t take these cuz me dusn’t need them wight now but sis Lexi dus. So she was da one dat twied these. Sissy, what did yous fink?

I’z like ‘em Dezi. I’z habz eatin’ deez in da pazt, but day beez refurmulaydid and tayzt eeben better. Mommy maykz shur too gibz ‘em wiv minez meel soz day doent upset minez tummy. Cuz doez ingreedintz kin habz dat affekt. Day beez a fish flayber which weez not git a lot ov soz I’z gibz ‘em 3 pawz up.

Fanks sissy. Da last purroduct me wants to tell ya’ ‘bout mommy had weal high hopes fur. It’s called Composure. Can ya’ guess why mommy wanted them to work? Yep dat’s wight, she hoped it wuld calm me down when da stowrms come or da lawn cwu comes or any of da udder fings dat scare me. Da Composure furmula comes in tweat furm and liquid furm and fur kitties and doggies. We got da tweat furm and me wuldn’t touch ‘em. Well they can’t work ifin ya’ don’t eat ‘em, wight? Mommy even cwumbled ‘em up and twied addin’ ‘em to meez noms. And dat was a no go. Me wuldn’t even eat meez noms. MOL They be safe enuff to give everyday or just when needed, but yous gotta eat ‘em. They be a soft bite sized chew. But me didn’t twy them at all so me has to give ‘em 4 paws down. We twied to get Buddy to eat one, but even hims wasn’t goin’ fur it. Mommy sed she wuld luv to twy da liquid furm but da tweats get 2 fumms down fwum da hooman too. Ifin me won’t eat ‘em they wuld be a waste of gween papers. So we twied sum gweat fings. 2 outta 3 home runs ain’t bad.
