Raena:  Hey everypawdy, it’s me, RaenaBelle. How are ya’ll doin’? ‘Member a while back when we were tryin’ to sign mommy up to marry a total stranger?

          Dezi: Wait a minute RaenaBelle, don’t lump me into that. That was all you. Me had nuffin’ to do with that. You’re the one that watches all the teevee ‘round here.

Raena:  Sure sissy, whatever you meow. (Raena meows under her breath) I’s seem to ‘member you were all fur gettin’ us a daddy at the time too. Anyways, the new season just started and OMC the day after the weddin’, one of those peeps was arrested. Sure nuff, there they were at the airpurrt fixin’ to go away on their honeymoon, when the pawlice showed up and whisked one of ‘em away. Looks like we dodged a bullet so to meow. 

 

          You’re right ‘bout that Raena. Altho’, to be fair, we don’t yet know the whole story. Now don’t get me wrong, we’re all ‘bout criminals bein’ punished fur their crimes, but teevee always makes things look worse than they are. Still, me’s glad we didn’t get mommy involved in all that. Like we don’t have enuff purroblems already. Hmmmpht

I’s seem to ‘member the only reason we didn’t get mommy signed up was cuz she’s too old, sissy. I’s think mommy still has a lot of good years left in her, but ‘pawrently anypawdy over 30 shouldn’t x’pect to find their special somepawdy.

          RaenaBelle, you’re meowin’ ‘bout mommy like she’s a racehorse or somethin’. She’s got a lot of good years left in her (Dezi shakes her head)…Where did you even come up with that? Another teevee show no doubt.

Well sissy, ifin mommy was a racehorse, she wouldn’t be just some filly, she’d be a thoroughbred fur sure. 

 

          Me agrees Raena. Me’s just not sure mommy would ‘purreciate bein’ refurred to as a horse.

Well at least me isn’t callin’ her a pig or somethin’. Anyways, enuff ‘bout all that. Can you believe how fast this year has flown by? I’s was thinkin’ we should have a pawrty or somethin’. You know, a just cuz celebration. We could invite all our furiends and pawrty the night away. 

 

          That does sound like fun Raena, but, me’s not sure now is the right time fur a pawrty. Why don’t we start with somethin’ small, like a play date? A while back we meowed that once things settled down a bit ‘round here we’d have our furiends from Feline Opines over to meow ‘bout their book. Me’s thinkin’ we should plan that fur next month.

 

Oh sissy, that sounds like a great idea. I’s can’t hardly wait. I’s gonna go call Alberto right now.

Okay sissy, you rest up cuz we’re gonna have loads of fun when our furiends get here. Maybe we can go fur a stroll, and play with the jitter bug, and zoom thru the ‘pawrtment, and…(Raena looks out the door while meowing about all the fun things to do when the friends come over, while Dezi dreams about the rest she’ll get when Raena has someone else to chase and play with.)

  1. Petcretary was 32 when she got married…and a lady she knows was in her 60’s when she found true love…and she had always been single!
    Speaking of marriage, maybe you should have a pawrty…I see the date this was posted is July 25…that is 31 years ago that petcretary and pawppy got married…so: Time to pawrty indeed!!
    (Oops, she let you know her age if you do the math, MOL! But she isn’t ashamed to let others know how old she is cause she feels quite young most of the time!)

  3. Oh I do hope you get to have them come over. I would luv to hear about their book! Playdates with you would be fun fur anypawdy!

    Mom watched one of the past seasons of the ‘Bachelorette’ with the purr-ty JoJo , but Mom doesn’t usually watch the dating shows these days. She used to watch the game show ‘Love Connection’ years ago. Tee hee hee.

    1. We’ve never watched any of those shows Valentine. It was only a fluke that we even saw this one and cuz they were actually married stead of just datin’, it caught mommy’s attention. Big hugs

  5. Raena and Dezi I wouldn’t give up on finding a Daddy. I was 58, bald (from chemotherapy) and a bit of a podge (overweight) when I met my soul mate. Casey and Gibbs love him to pieces. Love comes a-knocking when you least expect it so don’t rule it out for Momma A just yet. xxxx

  6. Love pops into lives in all kinds of ways and age rarely has anything to do with it! My Mom was 40 when she met my Dad. Life is full of surprises and that’s what makes it such an interesting journey girls!

  7. that sounds like a good idea… and you are right efurrything looks much more worse in da tv….and in worst case they totally change their mind and the hero from yesterday becomes the a-hat of tomorrow…

  10. Your mommy and my mommy don’t have to be under 30 to find a husband. They just need to keep smiling and hoping and realizing they can meet a man anywhere! For instance the grocery store – just get behind a decent looking man who has all single men type foods (and maybe cat food too) and chat him up. Of course my mommy says this was easier when she was younger. But plenty of peeps find second chances with older men. Just find places to go where older people go. Or rely on their friends to fix them up. Or cat shows, church, classes, etc.

    My mommy feels kind of hopeless too but she says she’s not giving up! Patzy

    1. Well Patzy, till mommy gets teeth, she ain’t smilin’ anywhere. MOL And since she doesn’t get out much, she doesn’t have the oppurrtunity to meet many peeps. Without furiends, there’s nopawdy to set her up. But, we wish your mommy all the luck in the world. Looks like we’re gonna continue to be dad less. MOL Big hugs

      2. We totally gets you. Due to old fillings failing and other problems my mommy is missing quite a few teeth herself. Who wants to kiss a mouth full of rotten teeth or no teeth.? It greatly takes you out of the smiling at men scene, doesn’t it?
        But your mommy is on her way to new teeth soon and my mommy is working toward it also! Maybe someday they will be in the market for a partner? Maybe?
