Hey everypawdy, it’s me, RaenaBelle. We’re runnin’ later than usual today. You’d think I’s would get used to it, but this time changin’ thing is just gettin’ way outta hand paw. We’re s’posed to be runnin’ on tummy time in this house, yet dinner’s been late every night since the human’s changed the clocks. I’s know it’s been stormin’ and that makes mommy slower than usual, but Kittens, we could starve ifin mommy doesn’t get back on tummy time soon.
Raena, what in the world are you meowin’ ‘bout? Nopawdy’s gonna starve. Me’s thinkin’ our late dinners might have more to do with your new trick. What’s up with that? Me told you mommy was gonna clip your claws. Me’s surpurrised she hasn’t pulled ‘em outta your paws by now.
Why would she do that sissy? Mommy doesn’t believe in declawin’.
You may make her rethink her pawsition ifin you keep jumpin’ on her back and diggin’ into her skin like that Raena.
Nah, it’s all in the technique sissy. Make sure mommy’s standin’ still and straight up. Get ready by squattin’ down and wiggle your hiney a bit…and then a bit more. And then, ya’ jump straight up, claws retracted and at the last minute unsheathe those grapplin’ hooks and grab hold. Then ya’ retract just enuff to get your claws outta skin but still into mommy’s shirt. Ya’ have to be careful not to overshoot your target tho’ or ya’ might land on the head. I’s purretty sure that wouldn’t be a good idea.
Uh Raena? Do you not hear mommy gasp in pain everytime you grab hold?
Huh? That’s not cuz of me sissy, mommy’s always in pain. Don’t you hear her cooin’ at me? She luvs mine’s new trick. Why do you think I’s started doin’ it everytime she’s in the kitchen? She luvs it so much, I’s even got a treat the other day. I’s luvs those little Pit’r Pats liver bites.
You would Raena. Me still purrfurs a nice piece of chicken or rabbit. You might have gotten a treat, but me’s purretty sure it had nuffin’ to do with your new trick. What made you decide to start doin’ that anyways?
Ya’ know sissy, I’s don’t really know. I’s was just sittin’ there watchin’ mommy fix her coffee one day when I’s suddenly wondered how high I’s could jump. ‘Course, the minute I’s jumped up, I’s decided I’s would rather luvs on mommy ‘stead of the ceilin’. Mommy enjoyed it so much, I’s just keep doin’ it now.
(Dezi rolls her eyes and shakes her head) Oh Raena…sometimes your logic stuns me.

Petcretary knew a cousin’s kitty who would lay on top of a door and them drop down on the next peep going through that doorway,MOL! Kind of a reverse jump! But with similar results! None of the 6 kitties that have been here have done that…and at 14, I am not about to start. MOL!\

Oh No!!! Sissy had those once and they didn’t wanna come off and furinally defurmed one of her claws. Seems the company knows they can be dangerous, they just don’t tell peeps. Big hugs

Pete says that his brother Storm has a trick kind of like that, He jumps up on the arm of dad’s chair and sinks his claws in dad’s arm to pull himself up. It makes holes in dads arm, but dad just calmly reminds Storm that human skin is not as strong as kitty skin. Then Storm gives dad head bumps and all is well …… until he does it again!
