Me wanted to share sumfin’ special wiff yous all today. We have a facebook awnty who is also a poet. Afur we met her online she was just anudder stwanger to us. But like so many of our pawsum innewnet furiends, today she is pawrt of our furmily. She lives “over da pond”. Fur those of ya’ dat not have a clue what we mean, she lives in Europe. She’s originally fwum Afwica. And she’s not had a easy life. She be an Agoraphobic. Now yous all askin’ yous selff what dat means awen’t ya’? She’s fwaid to go outside and be in da public. She be getting’ help now wiff hers fears and all, and weez purray fur hers daily, but she writes as a method of coping and expwessin’ hers emotions.

Well she sent us her book last year and mommy wuld read us a poem or two every night. Then a while back she decided to write anudder poetwy book and she included a poem fwum/about Lexi and me dat she wrote fur mommy. Sumhow pawently sum peeps kuld get access to it via a web linky, but not us. We don’t know ifin it didn’t work or ifin mommy was just too tech challenged to unnewstand how it worked. Anyways, she sent us da new book. We got it wight afur BlogPaws so we hadn’t had a chance to look at it till this week. Mommy sez it was so stwange to see our names written in a book. But this won’t be da last time, cuz mommy be workin’ on our very own book. We awe honored she wrote a poem fur us. So today me wants to share it wiff you all. And we wanna say Fank you awnty Petal, yous just pawsum.

Lexi and Dezi

 

Two service cats are we

Called Lexi and Deztinee

We did our very best

We passed the hard test

Things that we can do

Will surely amaze you

Dezi immediately detects

Low sugar and other effects

When she dances on her toes

Then Mummy surely knows

That down she really must sit

For kitty’s certain she’s not fit

Mummy is never to be left alone

And if she can’t reach the phone

We know how to answer the call

It’s not a problem for us at all

We’re able to bring her the chair

Driving it with extreme care

By holding on to the joystick

The chair moves nippity quick

In the case of dire emergency

911 is dialed by my sister, Dezi

Mummy always makes a fuss

Cuddles and belly rubs over us

Each one of us a rescued cat

We can never fully repay that

But Dezi and I will always try

Never to let our mummy cry

Because she is the best mummy

there could ever, ever, ever be

This comes with all our love

Now awnty Petal gave us (well mommy) da wights to our poem, but weez want her to have da cwedit fur writin’ it, so we have put hers name there. What A Time…

Meowllo everypawdy how have yous all been? It seems like furever since weez chatted last. But let me tell ya’, what a time dat has been. Weez not know how sum of ya’ keep up wiff all dat was goin’ on and still makin’ postys and visitin’, cuz we just didn’t have time. And by da time mommy got in fur da night, she was so exhausted there’s no way she kuld help us on da puter. Da posty we did make took hours cuz she kept fallin’ asleep at da desk. (yes, da wifi was indeed furee duwin’ da conference.) OMC da swag and da furiends and da twip and da room and…well it’s gunna take us a while to tell ya’ everyfin’, so weez’ll do this a little at a time. Oh and da dwive? Yep weez’ll be tellin’ ya’ all ‘bout dat too, just not today. Today weez gunna talk ‘bout BlogPaws itsselff okay?.

Lexi: Oh sissy weez doo habz lotz too tell eberpawdy doent we? Several ov ya’ had wunnerd ibin mommy taykin’ me on such a long trip wuz a good idea. And mommy kep tellin’ ya’ dat I’z lubbed too travel weez jiz doent git too doo it a lot cuz ov da green payperz. But weez hoep abter seein’ me in akshun and reedin’ ‘bout our adbenshurs, youz’ll unnerstand why mommy didunt fink twice ‘bout taykin’ me too BlogPaws 2015. It wuz az da hoomanz say, jiz what da doctor ordered.

Dezi: Yes sissy it was zactly what you needed wasn’t it? And yous had to show off too, didn’t ya’? You all know we be service cats, not celebricats. Altho’ weez wanna be celebracats sumday, weez not quite there yet. So anyways, weez not used to “entertaining guests”. So me didn’t come wound when we had visitors to our room. Me was all ‘bout da showin’ off when me was downstairs tho’. And yous’ll get to see sum of those fotos too. Oh Brian and furmily we can’t fank you enuff fur sponsorin’ us so we kuld go to BlogPaws Nashville. And of course weez got bit by da BP bug and wanna go next year too. It’s gunna be in Phoenix Arizona in June. We hope to be further along wiff our bloggy by then, and maybe even have a sponsor. WooHoo, wuldn’t dat be sumfin’?

And all of ya’ dat gave us gween papers fur da twip, fank you so much. And a meowsy big fank you to Ms. Tonya fur puttin’ us up in a motel afur leavin’ and comin’ home. When we tell ya’ ‘bout da twip yous’ll get why weez so gwateful. And we got to meet awnty Mary who lives in Nashville and hers bwought mommy sum Cokes. See we wuz in da middle of Pepsi kuntwy, and mommy purrfurs Coke. Not to mention those nasty Pepsi’s was spensive. OMC So a meowsy big fank ya’ awnty Mary. And we did an interview. Oh what fun. They didn’t know a lot ‘bout cat behavior, but it was still lots of fun.

Mommy weally enjoyed da classes, and all da visitinn’ and meetin’ of furiends. Oh and fanks fur da goodies Wally, Ernie and Zoey. Wow it wasn’t just a business cawd they gave mommy but also a little sumfin’ sumfin’ fur us too. And yes, mommy passed out our business cawds too. And she networked wiff sum of da bwands and we can’t wait to work wiff ‘em. This is gunna be so much fun. We took turns goin’ down wiff mommy to events and such, and cuz there was so many peeps there and mommy hung out wiff a few of them purretty regular, she left us in da room to rest sumtimes too.

Lexi: She shur did Dezi and it wuznunt fair. I’z relly wandid too go too da kloezin’ dinner. I’z jiz didunt wanna go in da strowller. I’z wandid too go down on minez leash. But mommy kep sayin’ sumpin’ ‘bout da doggiez and how ibin they wuz too lunge at me like they had erleer I’z woodunt habz any purrtekshun and kuldunt git away frum ‘em. So I’z hung out in da room wiv you and da swag. Owe da swag… (looks off dreamily) By da way, I’z ate sooooooo good on diz trip dat mommy awlmowzt kuldunt bulleeb it. Weez’ll be tellinn’ ya’ awl ‘bout dat when we tayk a look at sum ov da swag on itz own.

Dezi: Yep yous made a little piggy of yousselff sissy. But it was so good to see yous eatin’ so well. Now just keep it up. And a weally big meowsy fank you to Mars and all da wunnewful sponsors and bwands dat made BlogPaws 2015 pawssible. And lots of fanks to all those who gave us samples and those who weally helped out wiff sis Lexi’s eatin’. She found a food dat she weally liked and they gave us lots of extwa. Weez be twuly blest. Fanks to all da speakers and teachers who put on classes. We learned bunches and bunches. And fanks to all our furiends fur bein’ so nice to mommy and us. Goin’ To The VET

Meowllo everypawdy. Oh it was so nice and purretty yesfurday. Well it wuld have been but da lawn crew was here literally all day long. They came before daylight and didn’t leave till almost 5 p.m. But me did get to enjoy a little sunshine and no rain before it got dark. It’s posed to stawt up again tonight, but at least we have one more dry day in the furcast. And it’s a good fing too. Sis Lexi and mommy be goin’ to da VET today. Pendin’ on what time you be readin’ this as to whether they are already there or not. They needed to have enuff peeps on staff to do tests. Mommy just hates dat they fink this way, cuz Lexi be weal good and dusn’t weally put up a fight. Me can tell ya’ ifin sissy didn’t tear up those idiots dat did hers last blood tests, she’s not gunna whacky paw our wegular VET. Mommy sez she’s gunna get a T4 test just to make sure there’s no thyroid issues. But as we told ya da udder day, sissy’s been duin’ purretty good. Weez’ll tell ya’ why in her VET update posty which we hope to post tomorrow. But it may well be Fursday dependin’ on how mommy and Lexi feel after getting’ home.

We also wanna fank all of ya’ fur yous purrayers, luv and support. And me weally wants to fank meez fellow Cat Scouts, Obi and furmily, Timmy and furmily and Cat and furmily fur helpin’ wiff sissy’s noms, medicines and pointments. Sissy’s gotten quite picky and doesn’t wanna eat da same fing 2 days in a row. MOL Duz she fink she’s hooman?  And weez havin’ pizza today. Our facebook awnty Carrie sent sum gween papers to sis Lexi wiff hers Meowday cawd fur just dat. And wiff all da stowms weez not had it. So mommy purromised we kuld have pizza after Lexi goes to da VET. Our mouths awe alweady waterin’. MOL Weez duin’ our bestest to get in as many visits as we can durin’ this wedder bweak cuz mommy dusn’t let us be on da puter durin’ da stowms. So ifin weez not made it by yous place and commented yet, know dat weez on our way. Meez gunna keep it short and sweet cuz we need to make sum visits. Weez’ll see ya’ on da flipside. (meez always wanted to say dat, even tho’ me dusn’t zactly know why) MOL

We’re Growing Fins

Meowllo everypawdy. Maybe me shuld make a fishy mouff and say hey. Yep it’s stowmin’ again. Course we knew we was in fur mow rain, we just didn’t know there wuld be stowms too. And when mommy and hers doctor was visitin’ at hers pointment him was sayin’ dat we be in a critical drought. Now meez just a kitty so me dusn’t unnerstand just how we can be in a drought wiff all da rain we be getting’, but pawently it’s so and we need all this rain. And truff is it’s always rainy here in May. Mommy sez there’s a human sayin’ dat April showers bwing May flowers. But we get April AND May showers and then sum burnt up June flowers. (it gets really hot). So yesfurday ‘bout 45 minutes afur meez Cat Scoout pawrty stawted there was a stweak of light dat lit up da dawkened sky and then da heavens opened and da angels tears fell. It didn’t let up but fur ‘bout 30 minutes last night so me missed da pawrty. Anyways, sissy wanted to tell y’all ‘bouut a pawsum fing dat happened this week, so me will turn it over to her now.

Lexi: Fanks Dezi. Hey y’all hope youz had a grayt day yesfurday. I’z need to give ya’ a bit ov background afur I’z tell ya’ da newz udderwize youz won’t git it. So az you all know I’z habz a facebook page called Alexandra and Furiends. Which by da way ifin youz not pawed dat like buttoon, purrlease click minez name and click like, or scroll down a bit here on our bloggy and click the like button on minez facebook feed. Anyways, the udder side of facebook is unner minez and Deziz name too. And it inkludez minez birffday so it showz me az da 16 year old I iz. Itz nebber binn a purrawblem till recently and mommy kuldn’t enter a contezt fur coffee cuz it used our facebook purrofile and youz had to be 18. So we asked a few furiendz to enter fur usm and they did. It waz no big deal and mommy didn’t give it anudder fawt.. And then while vizitin’ our furiend Truffles da udder day we found minez age an issue once again.

Truffles waz habbin’ a give away fur a new purroduct dat kuld help this old gal. We don’t alwayz enter give awayz, lessen it be sumfin’ we really want or wuld like to try. And this waz just one ov those timez when we really wanted to enter. So we entered our email address and clicked enter and we got a message weez nebber seen afur. It sd, “it appears you do not meet the age requirements.” Hmmmmmmm What you talkin’ ‘bout, we fawt. So we did it again. This time mommy looked at all da options and saw we kuld sign in wiff facebook, twitter or email. Well, we nebber sign into anyfin’ wiff facebook or twitter, so when we got da message da second time we kuld only assume da contest widget was hackin’ into our facebook and getting’ minez birffday and ov course I’z still not 18. So we kuldn’t eeben enter fur a chance to win da give away. We wished eberpawdy good luck and told Truffles and Miss Melissa why we kuldn’t enter in our comment and then went on wiff our day. Da next timme we checked our email Miss Melissa had sent us a note saying she was sorry we kuldn’t enter but dat she had a extwa bottle of da Regeneril and fawt dat it might be weally good fur me. And dat she had sum noms she wuld like to give us too. OMC We are so very blest. And I’z like da regeneril. Mommy sez it smells purretty strong to her, but I lick It up. Mommy puts it in minez baby food glob wiff minez udder medsinz. so I’z wanna say a meowsy big Fank ya’ to Truffles and Miss Melissa fur sharin’.
