OMC it’s finally Furiday.  what a week weez had.  After meez got back fwum me twip wiff da cat scouts meez needed to west and welax. MOL  Mommy sed hers did too.  Anyways weez not gunna write  a big long posty tuday weez just felt weez needed to clear up a foo fings.   To all da nominees of yesfurdays awards, meez meant fur yous to take them all, not just one.   See meez listed all da awards first and meez nominees fur all those awards at da end of meez posty.  Meez also wanted any of yous out there dat hadn’t gotten them to take them and consider yous selff nominated. 🙂  Meez finks yous all pawsum and deserve only da bestest.  But as meez wuz makin’ da posty meez kep gettin’ sum warnin’ ’bout bein’ spam and then frown off da site, so meez kuld only add a foo links.  Me wuld luvved to hav listed yous all, but meez just dusn’t know how to do it me guesses.   Anyways meez hopes dat clears evewyfin’ up.  Clear as mud wight?  MOL

Meez gunna go ahead tuday and tell yous what it is dat meez not tecky mommy figgered out.  As yous all know, this be ow first ‘puter, and mommy bought it new and is makin’ payments fur it.  Well hers is always fwaid of it cwashin’ or not workin’ cuz herz messed it up.  So there’s a lot of fings on da ‘puter dat mommys nevew even opened.  So da udder day when weez got up and didn’t hav da net, mommy decided to paw a foo of  those purrogwams.  Hers pawed this one and held hers bweaff.  And yous will nevew believ what came up when hers did.  Meez blog.  There it wuz, just like when meez at word pwess.  Hers fawt, “Hmmmm I wonder if I was to write a post here if I could put it on the  blog later?.”  So hers started writin’ and then added da fotos and evewyfin’.  Then hers found a button fur addin’ da tags and schedulin’ da posty to post later.  Now by this time weez had da net back, so mommy pawed da button dat sed, upload to blog as dwaft (she wusn’t weady to publish-dat wuz da udder option., and then pweview.  And do yous know what happened?  Da web waves opened up and bwought up meez blog.  it wus amazin’.  Cuz da benefits of findin’ this means weez not have to be on da net to write meez postys, and mommy can choose a diffewent font (bigger).  Hers can do all kinds of fings there hers can’t do here on meez blog. Hers be so ‘cited ’bout findin’ this hers sed she just might hav to paw a foo mowe of those tiles hers not know anyfin’ ’bout.  MOL  Any of yous out there dat hav wunnewed  or asked us how to make yous posty fonts bigger then this just might be fur yous.  It’s called Windows Live Writer. Yous can link it to any blog yous hav, and even mowe than 1.  Weez know sum of yous hav sevewal blogs.   Now it only be good fur posty writin’, all da udder stuffs yous do wiff yous bloggy like da side baw and such still has to be dun fwum yous blog, but them postys kuld be dun anytime anywhere wiff or wiff out da net.   Anyways, weez fawt dat wuz purretty cool.

Meweek furiends, Hope yous all havin’ a pawsum day.  A foo weeks ago meez weceived a foo awards fwum meez good furiends Kitties Blue over at The Cat on My Head.  Fank yous fur givin’ me such gweat awards.  Ifin yous not followin’ ‘em, yous shuld go and check ‘em out.  They awe sum purretty cool cats.  Smile

Of course as wiff most awards, there awe sum rules to follow, so weez will just take yous fwu them.   Da first award meez got wuz da Love and Kindness award.  Meez vewy happy to hav weceived this one, cuz me is a vewy luvin’ kitty.  Da rules fur this award awe purretty simple, yous must fank da blogger dat nominated you, list an act of kindness anudder blogger has shown yous and nominate other bloggers dat purractice luv and kindness.  Now isn’t dat simple?  A meowsy big fank yous to da Kitties Blue, meez weally luvs y’all bunches.  As you all know weez not hav much in da way of munny/gween papers, so altho’ weez wuld luv to sponsor a kitty in need dat’s just not pawsible.  But meez do twy to do what me can fur them.  When meez finds a kitty in need of adoption on a blog meez follows da first fing meez duz afur commentin’ is to share them on meez twitter account and sis Lexi’s Facebook page.  and then meez adds them to meez purrayer list.  Meez not want them to get just a home, but a luvvin’furevew home like weez hav. Now this is where weez got a little confused, cuz weez getting’ da award called luv and kindness, but stead of shawin’ our acts of luv and kindness weez posed to shawe an act of kindness anudder blogger has shown to us.  There be so many weez not even know where to stawt.  When we first stawted bloggin’ weez knew absolutely nuffin’.  But Miss Pam and Sammy came to ow aid and told us how to add links to ow postys so weez kuld do fun fings like this.  Fank yous soooooo vewy much.  And then Caren and Cody twied to help us get ow Blogpaws badge put up on meez side baw.  A meowsy big fanks fur that too. Then there wuz da Tabbies of Trout Town wecommendin’ us to da Funny Farmer’s fur an innewview.  Fanks to yous all, it wuz gweat fun.  And outta dat came da pawsum cat twee weez weceived fwum anony-muss. WooHoo.  As ifin dat wusn’t nuff, anudder anony-muss fixed da a/c in da caw so meez wuldn’t pant and hav heat stwoke while meez on da job helpin’ mommy and Marty and Miss Kelly Jo sent us a pawsum box full of fun. Da box wusn’t too shabby eevew. Smile  OMC Fank yous, yous made ow year.  Smile  And then……meez kuld go on and on ‘bout da wunnewful fings dat bloggers hav dun fur us, but there’s just not nuff time.  So there yous go, so many acts of kindness weez can’t even list them all.  Fank yous to all of yous.  Weez purreciate all yous dun fur us, and most impurrtently weez purreciate yous acceptin’ us and bein’ ow furiends/framly (framly = mommys new word fur furiends on da net/web dat became furmily/family to us).

Belle of the Bayou

Meowllo evewpawdy meez back!!!  What a gweat time we all had on ow latest cat scout twip to da bayou.  It wuz non stop fun fwum da word go.  First handsum Andy flew down to meet me so me wuldn’t hav to fly alone.  Isn’t hims just da sweetest?  ♥  When we arrived all da scouts got tugedder fur a foto of course and then it wuz on to da Riverboat.  OMC Dat wuz amazin’.  Da view wuz spectacular and da boat wuz so cool. Ow accommodations wuz 5 star all da way.  And that night we had a costume dinner pawty.  All da ladycats dwessed up like belles or saloon hall girls and da boys like gents or gamblers.  After da dinner we went dancin’ and Andy played a tune on his sax.  Hims be quite talented.  🙂  What a gweat day.    

Da nex day we went further into da swamps and stayed in what looked like a cweepy run down shack, but wuz weally a vewy nice lodge.  Sum of da scouts decided to sleep in tents and take their chances wiff da cwocs. But dat wuz after a night of gweat food and ghost stories and a scary movie.   So of course meez stayed in da lodge as did Andy.  We had sum coffee and a nice quiet visit in me room afur callin’ it a night and hims weturnin’ tu hims room.  (meez not dat kinda kitty girl)

We all met early da nex meownin’ fur bweakfast and ow twip home.  Altho meez hated it to end, there’s no place like home.  And meez glad to be back wiff mommy and Lexi.  Andy flew home wiff me afur headin’ home himselff  and me did invite him to come down and see me sumtime and hav a nice meal.  Mommy be a weally good cook so me knows hims wuld enjoy it.  Yous know me will be honest and tell yous meez not so handy in da kitchen.  After all, meez a southern belle.  Yous posed to hav peeps cook fur yous.  MOL  And hopefully weez will hav da floors in ow pawtment fixed by da time hims visits so he can take da giant cat bed in da livin’ room and will stay dwy.  Sammy planned a pawsum twip and me can’t wait to see what hims plans fur us nex.  🙂  Fank yous so much Sammy, yous da bestest.  And Pete and Raz made da bestest gwub any kitty cat kuld ask fur.  Weez got sum gweat fings comin’ up in cat scouts so ifin yous still not joined, weez wuld luv to hav yous.  Da Belle of da Bayou be signin’ off fur now, but weez hope to post all da amazin’ awards weez wecently weceived on ow nex posty so stay tuned. 🙂

Blest Sunday and Writer’s Tour

Meowllo to yous all.  As you know me is in da bayou wiff da Cat Scouts dis weekend havin’ a pawsum time.  Which might be a good fing as mommy and me hav gone wound and wound ’bout who shuld write fur da writer’s tour.  Ow wunnewful furiends fwum Kitty Cat Chronicles invited us to pawticipate.  As yous know this is meez blog but of course me can’t type so mommy always helps me and finks hers shuld write da posty.  Bein’ da good girly me is me decided mommy wuz wight and hers shuld write it, so here’s me mommy.      

We have enjoyed reading all the posts on the writer’s tour and hope we’ve learned a few things from each of you.  Now there are a few rules here, the first is mention and link to the blog that invited you, check.  Two is answer 3 questions, I’ll get to that in a minute.  And 3, invite three other bloggers to write and link to them.  So I’ll start with the questions, and I’m going to answer them a bit out of order and explain why.  In order to answer question 1 and 3 I think I should first answer question 2.                  

2.  Why do I write what I do?  

The girls are my world, and being disabled they allow me to continue to live independently through their training as Service cats.  Due to the ADA making changes to the definition of Service Animal and therefore leaving every species and service animal off accept seeing eye dogs and search and rescue dogs, we decided to write and educate as many as we could reach about the wonderful abilities of other animals.  I get asked a lot why write in “CAT SPEAK”?  I guess the best way to answer that is that I wanted the girls to have a voice and tell the stories through their eyes.  I also wanted readers to feel like they knew and understood the girls personalities which I think comes across better by using cat speak.  We also want to have a bit of fun so we don’t just limit our writing to Service stories as our life is pretty monotonous and you would quit reading after awhile.  MOL  

               

1.  What am I working on?  

Wow, what a question.  Well we’re getting caught up now, so we’ll be back to our regular schedule with some new stories and goodies.  We’re in the process of making some changes to our story format on the blog to include more with Lexi.  And at some point in the future as we expand, we may include some fictional stories just for fun.  We’re still very new to blogging so we’re kind of just trying a few things and trying to find what works best for us.  You know if all the blogs were the same their would be no reason to follow more than one.  There are a few things since joining the blogosphere that we have joined and really enjoy doing.  The Pet Parade, Bacons’ Shopping around the world and occasionally Athenas Caturday Art are a few of the things we have joined and will continue to do.  We try to always make a Blest Sunday post just to remind us all that no matter what’s going on the fact that we have each other makes us truly blest.   We are also going to be writing a regular column for The Daily Mews, a monthly web newsletter.  And I’ve been asked many times if I had thought about writing a book, so……we’re starting one.  The hope is that we will be successful (meaning I figure it all out and get it written) and you all and many others will buy and enjoy it.      

         

3.  How does my writing process work?  

Well I’m not sure I have a process worth writing about.  I watch the girls and write down ideas as they come to me.  We write about events that happen in our daily lives and things that have happened.  We try to stick with truths that way I don’t have to remember tales or lies.  MOL   I try to always let the reader know up front if we’re going to be telling any fiction.  I am a control freak and very organized and at one point had our posts written in advance, but things happened and now we are here every night trying to get our post out so we can get into bed before 3 a.m.. MOL  And although I have notes of things to write about usually I can’t find or think of them when I sit down to write so I’m scrambling at the last minute and asking the girls to do something funny, cute or endearing so I can write about it.    So I’m not sure I have a process, I just write because I enjoy it and love sharing my girls.  I’m not the type to sit down and read a fictional book (I’m the crazy person who reads dictionaries, phone books, etc.), but every day I look forward to reading all of your blogs and seeing the photos of your fur babies.  

           

Now for the three blogs we invited to continue the tour.  The first is: Timmy and his dad Pete from the Tomcat Commentary.  Timmys blog was the first one we ever followed and is the reason we have a blog today.  Timmy is not the only cat in the household.  They write a lot of fun blog posts and each cat gets a turn at blogging.  They are adorable and if you’re not already following them, you should go by and check them out.

         

The next blogger I invited is: Sushi from Sushi’s Diary.  We met Sushi at Cat Scouts and think she and her mom are just amazing.  They live in the Philippines.  Sushi (a Himalayan) also goes by Sassy Sushi, so that ought to tell you a little about her personality.  Please go by and tell them hello.

     

And we aslo invited the Canadian Cats Shoko, Kali and their mom Jean.  Shoko is another friend we met at Cat Scouts. They are both adorable Siamese cats that keep their mom on her toes.  Please go by and say hello to them.  

         

And that would wrap up our post on the Writer’s Tour.  It might have been a better post if Dezi had written it. MOL  I spend so much time on the computer as Lexi or Dezi that I sometimes catch myself writing and speaking cat to other humans.  So without further ado I will turn the blog back over to Dezi.
