Hey, Yo, it’s me, RaenaBelle. Comin’ to you live from the ranch, better known as our ‘pawrtment. Yep, I’s live and in the fur bringin’ you blow by blow accounts of life in the slow lane.

          RaenaBelle Mayce, what in the world are you meowin’ ‘bout? And why are you meowin’ like some hood rat?

Hood rat?! What’s a hood rat sissy? Do we have any ‘round here? I’s bet’ch’a our furiend Erin would luvs to have a bite of one of those. Let me just look thru our address book and find her nummer. We’ll set out the pawtal so she can get here in a jiffy. I’s bet she could teach us a thing or two ‘bout ketchin’ those things. She may be a princess now, but she hasn’t always lived the pampurred life.  

 

          (Dezi shakes her head) RaenaBelle…It’s nice that you wanna share, but hood rat is just an expression. We don’t actually have any rats ‘round here of any kind. Y, Me’s never actually seen a real live mouse. Less ya’ wanna count the one me saw at BlogPaws that time. But me doesn’t think that one counts since he was somepawdy’s pet. You know, you can’t eat somepawdy’s pet, that’s just not nice.

          Uh, yeah, kind’a like that Raena. We don’t really think ‘bout Speedy bein’ a rabbit like the ones we like to see on our dinner plates. Speedy’s just Speedy, ya’ know?. It’s kind’a like all our woofy furiends. They’re nuffin’ like those annoyin’ woofies ‘round here and at the V-E-T’s office. Anyways, ya’ got me off track here. Me was askin’ why you were meowin’ things like Yo, and what blow by blows are you relatin’? Nopawdy’s fightin’ here. 

 

Of course not sissy. Why would anypawdy be fightin’? 

 

          Alright Raena, me’s not goin’ down this rabbit hole with you again. Me…

Rabbit hole? When did you get to go outside? Where’s the rabbit hole sissy? I’s wanna see it. That’s not fair that you got to go outside and I’s didn’t. I’s take care of mommy just as much as you do. Ifin anypawdy ought to get to go outside, it’s me. I’s haven’t really and truly seen all the marvels that make up nature on account on mine’s eyes bein’ bad. Now that I’s can see clearly, I’s need to go and check out the world ‘round us. (Raena puts on her pouty face)

 

          Raena, there is no rabbit hole. Well, there purrobably is, but me hasn’t seen it. Nopawdy’s been outside, not even mommy. Seriously now, where’d you get the word Yo?

TV of course. Now sissy, ifin nopawdy’s been outside, then why are you meowin’ ‘bout rabbit holes and stuffs? 

 

          With as much tv as you watch Raena, you should be more than a little furmiliar with silly human sayings, like down the rabbit hole. 

 

I’s not ever heard it sissy. Maybe the tv peeps bleep those things out. Y, Last night while mommy was makin’ our dinner, I’s changed the channel by mistake and this whole show was bleep bleep bleep. I’s don’t know why somepawdy would wanna watch somethin’ that doesn’t even have words. Quite furankly, those bleeps are a bit annoyin’.

          Oh Raena, you still have so much to learn. Once upon a time, no movies had words.

          Sure ‘nuff Raena. ‘Course, that was long befur me’s time.

MeOW  I’s can’t even ‘magine. Anyways, guess that’s all the time I’s have fur today’s blow by blows. We’ve got things to do and peeps to see…or is it places to go and…ah who cares. RaenaBelle signin’ off from the ranch, I’s think it sounds better than the old ‘pawrtment, k? Fanky fank you all fur your patience with us. We’re slowly but surely gettin’ ‘round to visit all of you.

Tell All Tuesday: Who’s Eating What #ChewyInfluencer

Hey everypawdy, it’s me, RaenaBelle. Can you believe it? It’s almost Christmas!!! I’s just can’t wait. In t’ween tryin’ to ketch up on our visits, take care of mommy and nap, we’ve been shoppin’ hard fur the bestest gifts to put on our big Gift Guide next week. And yes, we’ve got ideas fur the whole family, men included…and no, they’re not ties, socks or underwear. Mommy said I’s needed to meow that so you all won’t worry. Ya’ know, cuz what could a house of girly’s know ’bout gifts fur men, right?. Sissy? Are ties, socks and underwear not good gifts?

          No Raena, there’s nuffin’ wrong with those things as gifts, but they’re not very creative. It’s like the gift one gives when they don’t know what else to think of. 

 

Hmmmmpht  Well, I’s can tell ya’ after seein’ some of the holes in mommy’s socks and drawers, I’s know she was thrilled with the new socklets awnty Cindy just sent her. Anyways, we didn’t pick any fur the menfolk. You’ll just have to stop by and check out the guide. We think we’ve got some pawsum picks that just ‘bout anypawdy would be happy to receive. 

 

          Me totally agrees Raena. But, that’s next week; today we need to tell everypawdy ‘bout this new food we tried the other day.

          Uh, well, why don’t we get to that pawrt after we tell everypawdy ‘bout the basics. Like, mommy would purrfur that we could eat a variety of things, at least every once in a while. You know, ya’ just never know what might happen in the future, so it’s always good fur us kitties to have at least a couple of options so we don’t have to go hungry. As most of ya’ know, we eat freeze dried raw. 

 

Mommy would purrfur we eat all raw sissy.  

 

          That’s true Raena. But, mommy is happy enuff that we eat freeze dried raw, so she doesn’t push us…least not yet. Anyways, she would like to find a couple of quality canned foods that we could eat just in case.

The ingredient list doesn’t look too bad. The variety pack, 12) 3 oz. cans comes in poultry and tuna or seafood and chicken for $14.99. You can also buy them in single flavor packs for the same price. As you can see from our fotos, the contents of the can look like shredded or pulled meat in water/oil. There’s purrlenty of juice in the cans. Mommy says the juice contains some oil based on it’s appearance. She also said that the longer it was on the plate, it appeared to oxidize. Three hours after opening the can and putting it out, the liquid had the appearance of dirty dishwater. I’s sniffed it from afar, but wouldn’t go near it. Furthermore, I’s wouldn’t touch mine’s regular food either till it was removed from mine’s mat.

          As you can see by me’s foto, me did check it out and then me looked over at Raena’s pawtion, just to see ifin hers might have looked better or somethin’. Me sniffed it a few times and then ate me’s regular dinner. It smelled kind’a funny. Me would have normally at least lapped up the juice, but this one just wasn’t fur me.

Me either sissy. And the fish formula’s have the bad vit. K ingredient, Menadione Sodium Bisulfate Complex. Since we don’t eat fish, this wasn’t a very big concern fur us, but should be fur the fish eaters. While this food doesn’t make the cut in our house, Chewy has purrlenty of things that do, and at great prices. They have pawsum customer service peeps and free speedy shipping on all orders of $49.00 and more. There’s a low flat rate shipping charge for all other orders. And they have products for the whole family.

Blest Sunday: Wagging Tongues

MeOW  What a wonderful week of Blessings and Fankfulness. (Dezi walks back and forth down the hall meowing, stopping occasionally to squat, wiggle and look around before starting up again. She hears the wind blowing through the wind chimes and the leaves rustling outside and jumps on the Liberty cat tree to take a look.)  RaenaBelle, hasn’t this been a pawsum week?

          Yep sissy, it really has. (The wind blows up a funnel cloud of leaves and Raena crouches on the perch in front of the door watching intently as if she could reach out and catch one.)  We’re so Blest; even mommy’s startin’ to feel a bit better. She said fanky fanks to our massages and a box of imitrex her migraine’s let up a lot. At least enuff so she can think again. I’s told her we had plans to make and things to get done befur Christmas. I’s so ready fur Christmas to be here, aren’t you?

Yeah Raena, me can’t hardly wait. But befur we move on we need to ‘pawlogize fur not announcin’ the winners of our mask contest at me’s Carnival pawrty. What with the innernet bein’ out, mommy’s sick and the holidays, we got way behind. Our winners were Pipo and Dalton. As purromissed, you’ll be gettin’ a little sumpin’ sumpin’; but, all our plans went astray and it ain’t here yet. So, we’ll send it on when we get it, K? Me was so happy to see so many of our furiends purrticipate. The bloggin’ community, cats and their peeps in purrticular are just the bestest ever.

          You got that right sissy. Meowin’ of furiends, we need to send out a fanky fank you to awnty Cindy and her brofur uncle Marshall and all the kitties. Not only did they send us that tasty fanky Fanksgivin’ dinner along with a goody box, but they also sent us a case of shelf stable milk and some green papers. Mommy says the car tags are due, so it’s a really big help. 

 

And me wants to fank awnty Vonda fur sendin’ us some green papers too Raena. Mommy said me has a late Birthday/Gotchaday gift comin’.

That’s cuz you wanna steal me’s nip nanner ‘stead of playin’ with your own Raena. There’s a reason mommy insists on two of everythin’; so we each can have our own. 

 

          Then why don’t you play with the other one sissy? 

 

It doesn’t matter which one me plays with Raena, that’s the one you’re gonna want. (Raena thinks for a minute and then goes back to watching the leaves fly around outside while Dezi grins at having left Raena meowless.)  Cat got your tongue? MOL

          I’s not bein’ mean sissy, I’s just showin’ ya’ that I’s got mine’s tongue. You’re the one that asked ‘bout it?.

Chatting Cats: A Meowsy Feline Friday

Dezi:  MeOW  Hey Raena, did you enjoy that turkey tom lurkey last night? Me sure did. Me even stole a bite of mommy’s hawaiian roll. It was so tasty.

          Raena:  Oh sissy, I’s luvs, luvs, luvved mine’s turkey tom lurkey. And I’s stole the whole roll when mommy zoned out. I’s hate that she doesn’t feel good, but I’s just couldn’t pass up more of that tasty fanky Fanksgivin’ dinner. I’s sure hope mommy gets better soon.

Dezi:  Me too Raena. Whatever she’s got sure came on fast. She said she felt fine yesfuday meownin’, but by the early afternoon she couldn’t even function. She had a really bad migraine and her throat was sore and she was runnin’ a fever and had the chills. (Dezi whispers to Raena) Me even thinks she might’ve peed her pants a time or two. But don’t tell anypawdy, she would be so embarrassed. When she furinally came ‘round and saw her empty plate, fanks to you, she just assumed she’d already had dinner and put the leftover turkey in the fridge. So, we had to lissen to her tummy growl all night long.

          That was mommy’s tummy? I’s just thought you were in a bad mood sissy. I’s don’t think I’s got mine’s full sleep, I’s so tired today.

 

A bad mood? Why would me be in a bad mood? Me’s gotchaday fell on Fanksgivin’ and me got real turkey tom lurkey as a treat. And even tho’ mommy wasn’t feelin’ good, she gave me lots of extra luvvin’ and cuddles. Me’s day couldn’t have been more purrfect. Well, a stroll might have been the cream on top. But, me knew mommy wasn’t up to it, so me didn’t even ask.

 

          A stroll would’a been great sissy, but that was very thoughtful of you to consider how mommy was feelin’. Maybe we can go fur strolls when she’s all better.

Me hopes so Raena. Do you realize Christmas is only a month away? Me can’t wait to go out lookin’ at Christmas lights.

 

And I’s can‘t wait fur our annual trip to the old folks home sissy. I’s had so much fun last year. The peeps luvved me. Oh Christmas, I’s can’t wait fur you to get here.
