Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle, live from the chaotic Three Belles Ranch. (The skies rumble and groan and cause the floors and windows to vibrate.) Hey sissy, wait up. Whare are you goin’, It’s just a little winter storm. Mommy says anytime the weather has such drastic extremes from highs to lows or lows to highs, a storm is sure to follow. Guess you were right, those purretty spring days are gone.

Yeah Raena, me doesn’t like the storms outside, but storm mommy’s on the loose inside. Me’s not sure which is worse. MOL

Ain’t that the truth sissy. I’s like break times bestest, when mommy sits down and gives us extra luvvins. Ya’ know, we read that February is Nat’l. Responsible Pet Owner month. That got us to thinkin’ ‘bout what that really means. Ya’ know, we all know respawnsible pet owners purrmote spay/neuter, and the over all health of their kitties and woofies. It means to feed us appropriate foods and keep us safe. But what ‘bout our emotional health; ‘specially durin’ stressful times like storms or packin’ up to move?

It doesn’t even have to be somethin’ that big Raena. You know us kitties aren’t always big fans of change. Just rearrangin’ the furniture is enuff to really stress us out. Mommy says that’s one of the reasons she rearranges what she can offen. She says desensitizin’ us is one way to help keep our stress levels down when somethin’ big happens.

Really sissy? That’s why she does that? I’s just thought she was bored. MOL

That’s purrobably true too Raena. Mommy does say that after a while of lookin’ at the same old same old, the walls start closin’ in. Me’s never seen the walls move, but ifin mommy says so, they must.

I’s didn’t know our walls moved sissy. I’s saw somethin’ like that on the teevee the other day; it was scary. I’s glad mommy moves things ‘round so we don’t get squooshed. (Raena cleans her toe beans) Flat cats would take on a whole new meanin’. MOL

Funny Raena, you’re a real comedi-cat.

Fanky fanks sissy. Do ya’ think I’s could get a gig as a stand up comedi-cat? (Dezi rolls her eyes) Anyways…We’ve written several Service Cat postys on movin’ and remodelin’ with kitties and settin’ up a Decompression Room to keep stress levels down. But, we don’t really have the room fur that, and we really need to be with mommy. Ya’ know, just in case she needs us.

And just cuz we don’t wanna be away from her Raena. We’re far less stressed when we can be with mommy than when we’re sepurrated from her. ‘Course a good roll on a pawsum nip toy never hurts either.

That’s true too sissy. So, mommy takin’ sit down breaks to give us that extra luvvins is also how we all relieve the stress. Which of course, helps our emotional health. We’re cuddle cats, lap cats, snuggle buddies, whatever ya’ call kitties who be all up in the humans business all the time. But, even ifin your kitty is totally the opposite, he/she still needs ya’ to take care of his/her emotional health.

Maybe even more so Raena, after all the opposite of us would be a kitty who lives with a lot of stress and fear in their lives already.

You’re right sissy, I’s didn’t even think ‘bout that. Fur those kitties, speakin’ calmly and tellin’ ‘em what’s goin’ on and reassurin’ ’em that they’re still your nummer one is the bestest way to help them; besides a Decompression Room.

Even with it Raena. Mommy believes that on some level we totally unnerstand, and that tellin’ us what’s goin’ on each step of the way helps keep us calm.

‘Course we unnerstand her sissy. Hmmmmpht We are cats after all. Looks like mommy’s thru with her break, so let’s go see ifin we can help. Sooner or later she’s gonna have to open the door to the furbidden room (closet). I’s gotta hone mine’s sneaky skills to get in there and explore.

Hey, is anypawdy out there? It’s me, RaenaBelle, comin’ to ya’ live from the chaotic Three Belles Ranch. Let me tell ya’, there’s stuffs everywhere. Our canopied cot disappeared into a box last night. Sissy and me were watchin’ to make sure it went in the keep pile. We might not use it very offen, but it’s ours and we might want to some day. I’s better not see any of our nip nanners goin’ into a box. That would be a travesty.

What do you know ‘bout travesties Raena?

I’s asked the lady in the box (Alexa <Echo Dot>) sissy and she said it was the purrfect word. Sometimes she can be helpful, just not so much when she starts talkin’ outta the blue at 3 in the meownin’.

Yeah Raena, me will never unnerstand why she just blurts out things sometimes. Did you hear mommy yellin’ at her the other day?

When the lady said “I’s lissenin’” sissy?

Yep Raena, mommy hates that drop in mode. Mommy says nopawdy should be droppin’ in on us, so she doesn’t unnerstand why the lady would need to be lissenin’. The furst time she told her to stop. When it happened again a few minutes later, mommy was yellin’ at her and askin’ why she was lissenin’ and who was lissenin’.

It’s kind’a funny how the lady shut up after that, huh sissy? Bet she won’t lissen in any more, least not fur a while.

Let’s hope so Raena.

I’s haven’t seen any of those aliens ‘round fur a few days sissy. Ya’ reckon they went back to their home?

Raena, they’re workers, not aliens. Mommy says they took the week off.

That seems kind’a silly to me. Last week it was fureezin’ cold ‘round here, but this week is like Spring. It was actually 71° here yesfurday.

Don’t worry Raena, that won’t last. The temps are on the decline all week. It’s winter time in the south, that means ya’ never know what you’re gonna get.

Uh, Sissy, I’s thought that was kind’a normal ‘round here no matter what time of year it is?.

Well yeah Raena, that’s true. Ya’ know, normally me would be askin’ mommy to take us out fur a stroll. But, you’ve been hoggin’ the stroller every wakin’ hour of every day.

I’s just makin’ sure I’s ready and that mommy doesn’t furget to take me with her. You know, all these boxes might be fun, but it’s also a little worrisome. You know us kitties don’t like change.

Me knows what you mean Raena. But, me’s purretty sure mommy won’t furget us. Me’s done this befur ya’ know?. It might not have been me’s most favorite thing in the world, but mommy never furgot ‘bout tryin’ to keep me and sis Lexi comfy and happy. Me has no doubts she’ll do the same fur you and me.

Well that’s good to know sissy. Ya’ know, I’s thinkin’ we should write a little mini series on movin’ and remodelin’ the ranch with kitties. After all, we’re more accustomed to chaos than most kitties and yet we still find all of this a little distressing.

Me agrees Raena. Another of your plans that aren’t so bad. We also need to start thinkin’ ‘bout what we’re gonna do fur mommy fur Valentine’s day. It’ll be here befur ya’ know it.

You mean our handsum Persian furiend Valentine has a day all to hims self that we’re s’posed to gift to mommy?

Uh No Raena, me thinks it’s purrobably the other way ‘round. Me’s purretty sure he got his name from the holiday. Anyways, let’s go put our heads together and see what we can come up with.

Blest Sunday: The Blessings of Friendship

MeOW-llo furiends, it’s one of our favorite days of the week, Blest Sunday. Let me tell ya’, with all the crazies ‘round here this week, we’re fur sure feelin’ Blest. Ya’ might ‘member that earlier this week we got new windows put in our ‘pawrtment. Lots of ya’ thought they’d make things warmer. We’d sure like to hope so, but like most things ‘round here, they’re the cheapest they could find. No double panes here. MOL

Hmmmmpht And how are we s’posed to look out those things sissy? ‘Stead of one solid pane, we now have a bunch of little squares. It’s not like each square has it’s own action. Nooooooo, the action gets cut into pieces now.

It’s winter time Raena, what action are you even meowin’ ‘bout? We haven’t seen a squirrel or a bird in so long, me thinks they’re all hold up and waitin’ fur spring to return.

Yeah, but I’s was watchin’ the aliens come and go from their ship (porta potty). Ya’ gotta keep an eye on ‘em ya’ know?

Seriously Raena, they’re not aliens, they’re just workers.

That’s what they want you to think sissy. And then when ya’ let your guard down, they swoop in and snatch ya’. Don’t worry tho’, I’s will purrtect ya’.

Oh Meow, me can sleep much better now that me knows you’re gonna purrtect us. (Dezi shakes her head and rolls her eyes) The mighty RaenaBelle, Purrtector of all. MOL

Are you laffin’ at me sissy? Cuz you know I’s not ‘fraid of anythin’, unlike some kitty girl who shall remain nameless. (fake cough cough) Sissy.

Me’s not even gonna dignify that with an answer Raena. Besides, this is Blest Sunday, not fight with your sisfur Sunday. We are Blest that no kitty escaped durin’ the window exchange, and it was over befur mommy froze. Kittens, Once those windows were removed, it got really chilly in here. Meowin’ of chilly, the little space heater we used in the bedroom and bathroom broke the other day. The vent in the bathroom doesn’t work, so that room is like a freezer in the winter and a sauna in the summer. Fanks to awnty Cindy fur our new space heater, we can get some warmth in there again.

Y, This sure is cute.

Sure nuff sissy. And let me tell ya’, that little thing can put off some heat.

That’s the truth Raena. As always, our greatest Blessing this week is all of our furiends. We are so fankful fur each and every one. We purray you all will be unnerstandin’ and patient with us over the next few weeks. Mommy has to get busy and get our things packed up as bestest she can. That means we won’t have a lot of time to spend visitin’ with ya’ll. Rest assured, we might not be able to get by, but you will all be in our thoughts and purrayers.

Yep sissy, every night befur we go to sleep and every meownin’ befur we start our day, we Give Fanky fanks to God fur each of you and ask Him to Bless and keep you. Chatting Cats: The Aliens Are Here

Hey everypawdy, it’s me, RaenaBelle; comin’ to ya’ live from what’s left of the Three Belles Ranch. I’s mean, there we were layin’ all snug in bed this meownin’ enjoyin’ the last of our nighty night snuggles when all of a sudden the whole ranch started shakin’. There was bangin’ and scrapin’ comin’ from the window beside the bed, and I’s just knew somethin’ was tryin’ to get in. It’s fur sure one of those aliens. I’s heard ‘em talkin’ right outside; some strange language I’s couldn’t unnerstand. I’s nearly jumped outta mine’s furs at all the commotion.

RaenaBelle Maycee, don’t be so dramatic. You act like you’re auditionin’ fur a pawrt in one of your teevee shows or somethin’.

Hmmmmpht Like you didn’t nearly jump outta your furs too sissy. I’s heard you scampurr UTB (under the bed) when all the commotion started too.

Nah, Me was tryin’ to get to the window to investigate Raena. Me wasn’t hidin’. Fankfully, mommy keeps the windows locked and they gave up befur me could get there to purrtect us.

Yeah right sissy, whatever you meow. Anyways, all hope of sleepin’ in and extra cuddle time was gone at that point. Mommy was wide awake and had to go to the pawtty box, so we all headed that way. Well, mommy and me did, you sat outside the pawtty box room starin’ down the hall at the door and growlin’.

Well Raena, they might have given up comin’ in thru the window, but me wasn’t sure ifin they were gonna try the door. Mommy’s really vulnerable furst thing in the meownin’ so me had to purrtect her.

I’s sure mommy ‘purreciated your effurts sissy. You weren’t wrong. Once we all got settled and started eatin’ our brekky, those aliens started bangin’ on the door. It seems that contrary to the required amount of notice (48 hours, 24 in an emergency), mommy did find a notice hanging on the door last night (less than 16 hours) that said those aliens would be comin’ in today to change out our windows.

Those are the new windows sitting outside.

Yep Raena, mommy was purretty peeved that she hadn’t gotten purr-opurr notice. We’ve got boxes and stuffs everywhere, and now they wanna come in and change out the windows? (Dezi shakes head) Altho’ me must meow, ifin they are aliens, they sure are cuter than those they show on teevee.

The alien’s burnin’ a stink bomb to take out the old window. And, it’s fureezin’ in

here. Every heater in the house is runnin’. Mommy’s seein’ dollar signs

float out the gaping holes in our walls. MOL

Don’t let ‘em fool ya’ sissy. That’s how they do it ya’ know.

Do what Raena?

Suck your brains out and snatch your body, what else?

Me’s not sure any aliens would want our bodies Raena.

Of course they would sissy. We live the good life. Who wouldn’t want our lives? Mommy waits on us hand and paw, and takes great care of us. We eat better than most peeps, and look at us, we’re gawjus. (There’s a knock on the door and 2 “aliens” come inside and start taking down the blinds and removing the old windows. Dezi and Raena run to mommy A and sit close by her. Suddenly the stench of burning fur sends them both down the hall to the bedroom.) Yuck!!! That Stinks, sissy!!! See, I’s told you they were gonna get us. They’re tryin’ to knock us out with their stink bombs. We better sign off fur now.

You’re bein’ over dramatic again Raena.

Oh yeah sissy? Then why are you runnin’ down the hall with me? We hope we’re still us the next time we see you all.
