Mine and Mommy’s Day Out

Hey y’all itz finally Furiday and yep itz me Lexi agin. I’z gunna tell ya’ more ‘bout minez and mommyz day out. Letz see, weez left off when we wuz leavin’ da VET. We got iin da car and drove over too da Walmart too git me sum Gerber ham and ham gravy baby food. One jar lasts 3 mealz. I’z git ‘bout a tablespoon wiff minez medz mixed in. Eat youz heartz out Sammy and Travis. MOL Youz git bacon once a week. I’z git da porky pig 2 timez a day. WooHoo I’z not bein’ mean fellaz, I’z wood share minez good furtune wiv ya’ ibin youz want. Anywayz mommy and me went too da Walmart and OMC da place waz packed!!! Youz know weez had stormz fur a solid week and thiz waz one of da only dry dayz we waz gunna habz fur anudder week and peepz waz takin’ full advantage of it.

And youz wood be surprized at how many peepz fat I’z waz a dog. Come on now, do I’z look like a dog to you? I’z didunt fink so. Peepz wood point and we kuld hear them say fings like, “oh look at the cute little doggy.” and then they wood get closer and say,  Oh, that’s a CAT!!!” Well duh, of course I’z a cat. And then mommy wood go intoo her spiel ‘bout service cats and tryin’ too educate da public. I’z fink itz funny sumtimez too watch da “what choo talkin’ ‘bout” look on their faces. Sum peepz juzt can’t magine a service cat and sum peepz got no purrawlem getting’ it. So we did our shoppin’ and left too come back home. Mommy sed she wuz dog tired and we waz gunna go home and let her rezt a bit afur she got minez pizza. We lissened too da radio on da way home and mommy chatted wiff me. She told ne how much she lubbed me and needed me and dat I’z waz gunna be round fur a long time. It alwayz makez me feel good to hear mommy tell me she needz me and lubz me. And then mommy sang me one of herz made up songs ‘bout me. When we finally got home and mommy got me inside I’z stardid chatterin’ all ‘bout our day too Dezi.

Weez get a lot of emails akin’ ‘bout us travlin’ and goin’ places wiff mommy. Back lazt summer when da partment flooded we got os of questions ‘bout what mommy wood doo wiff us ibin she went to stay in a motel. And weez get sum of those same emails frum peeps wunnerin’ ‘bout BlogPaws. Truff iz we luv to travel. Mommy sez itz funny dat I’z not really enjoy all da fuss of hunnerdz of peepz wiff dirty handz pawin’ oat me anymore cuz I’z doo lubz to go. Az soon az mommy unzipped da stroller I’z waz runnin’ after mommy and standin’ by da door askin’ too go back out. Mommy sez dat she alwayz be exhausted after a trip, but she brings us in and weez bounce off da wallz wantin’ too go back out fur dayz. So yes, weez gunna habz a time at BlogPawz. Well after I’z settled down a bit mommy ordered our pizza and served us dinner. Oh wow dat pizza waz delishuz.

Now we know lotz of ya’ habz bin wunnerin’ ‘bout minez medzin. Az youz all know da VET put me on Azodyl rite after minez diagnosis. And fankz to furiendz mommy had been able to gibz it too me. But a few weekz back we ran out. We mentioned it and dat mommy didunt habz da green paperz too buy it. But there waz nuffin’ mommy kuld do. She can’t make munny appear frum nowhere. And so a few dayz later mommy had bin researchin’ this udder medzin datz pozed too werk like da Azodyl but be much cheaper. And Obi and himz mommy sent sum green paperz too help mommy git me sumfin’. So mommy ordered da new medzin. She still didunt habz da green paperz fur da spensive stuffz but she ‘cided it waz better I’z git treatment of sum kind than nuffin’ at all. So mommy ordered da new medzin. And then Timmy and unkle Pete and furmily sent mommy sum green paperz fur minez udder medzinz and Cat and herz furmily sent green paperz too help out wiff minez care too. I’z so blezt too habz such wunnerful furiendz. I’z takin’ a Vitamin B-12 wif folate, and da Regeneril dat Trufflez and Ms. Melissa sent us, Renavast and da Astro’s Protein powder and Nitrogen-Creatinine scrub. And altho’ purrscription dietz fur CKD kittiez be low protein and low phosphorous more recent studies have shown dat we CKD kittiez shuld be eatin’ high quality proteinz and low phosphorous foods. Fank catness cuz I’z not like dat RX stuff. Weez gunna finish this up in our next posty so we can tell ya’ ‘bout da medzinz and what they be duin’ fur me. And sissy wantz me too say dat weez joinin’ da Pet Parade wiff Rascal and Rocco.

Meowllo everypawdy. Hope you’re ready fur da weekend. It’s officially spwing and tornado season in tornado alley. We have sure had da wedder lately. And weez have also had lots of power twubbles. Y just yesfurday it looked like nighttime all day long. And da power kep flickerin’ on and off. So we didn’t hawdly get on da puter at all. We be so fwustrated wiff all this. We have sum Fank yous we need to post and weez also been researchin’ sumfin big fur an educational posty. But weez wanna wait on those till we donn’t have to rush to make a posty. At da moment it’s dawk outside and da middle of da day, so while it’s a little calm so weez twyin’ to get this out afur it all stawts up again. See yesfyrday got weal innerestin’ round here. As me sed it was dawk and we knew stowms were on da way. Da power had been flickerin’ on and off all day and every time it wuld go out, mommy wuld gwit her teef and ask God to make it come back on. And it did. Until…Well let me just tell ya’ in full detail.

Mommy had twied to get sum of dat calmin’ stuff in me to no avail. And da power hadn’t flickered in a kupple hours so mommy fawt all was good. She had been dwinkin’ coffee which, well it runs fwu her like no udder dwink duz so she headed to da pawdee box room to…well you know. Anyways, Lexi jumped up on da vanity and wanted mommy to turn da water on fur her. Of course dat’s zactly what mommy did. And then she pulled down hers bwitches and…

Lexi: Why are you getting’ to tell da story Dezi? What do you know about how fings went? After all…  

Cuz it be meez name on da bloggy sissy. Me dusn’t have to tell everypawdy dat me was so scared me was hidin’ in da recliner. Oh hey, y’all awe still here. Well dat’s okay me finks you all wulda been purrlenty scared too. Da wind was blowin’ ‘bout 70mph and rain was fallin’ so hawd it sounded like drums. So on wiff meez story. Let’s see…yeah mommy had just sat down and there was a big ole funder boomer and da power went out. Well there awe absolutely no windows in our pawdee box room at all. And da small window in da bedroom off da pawdee box room has black curtains and a black film on it to make da room cool and dawk fur sleepin’. So there was mommy in a not so furtuitous pawsition, and Lexi on da vanity slingin’ water everywhere and suddenly it’s pitch black. Mommy sed, “Oh Lord please turn the power back on.”

Mommy sat there a minute tryin’ to member where da flashlights were; we have a kupple little $1.00 LeD flashlights and da one me won fwum Cat Scouts. Mommy waited anudder minute afur gwopin’ wound fur toilet paper and such and then she told Lexi to stay put. Yeah wight. Tell a service cat to let you walk fwu a dawk house by yous selff. Like dat’s ever gunna happen. MOL And yes even me came out fwum unner da chair to find mommy. So here’s mommy lookin’ like a zombie wiff hers awms out in fwunt waivin’ fwum side to side hopin’ not to run into anyfin’ and Lexi and me hot on her heels. Mommy finally reached da bed and felt round on da vanity beside it fur a flashlight. She knocked a few fings round but finally got da flashlight and pushed da on button. It came on and then went out. OMC Da batteries were dead. So mommy turned wound and almost stepped on me. She only missed me cuz me moved outta da way, anudder service cat technique. And off we all went to da livin’ room to find anudder flashlight. Lexi ran on ahead of mommy and me but steered clear of mommys huge feet. Mommy felt round and finally found a light and pushed da button to turn it on and…OMC it’s da red dot. MOL Now’s where it kuld get innewestin’ wight?

It kulda, but bein’ service cats we know da job comes afur play. So we totally ignored da red dot and mommy flashed it everywhere lookin’ fur candles. We finally got a candle lit in every room and mommy went to ask da neighbors ifin anypawdy had reported da outage. All these old peeps sittin’ outside in da dawk and pourin’ rain and sed, “they’ll get to us. We sure hope it’s soon. The hospital’s next door so surely they’ll get us up at the same time.” Well furstly da hospital has generators and we don’t, and secondly weez not on da same line. So mommy came back in and had to go dig in da dawk closet to find da old fashioned fone dat works wiffout lectwicity. They finally got our power back up wight at dinner time. Whew, we was worried mommy wuldn’t be able to see to feed us. Which bwings us to anudder update dat weez’ll be postin’ ‘bout shortly. We just gotta get fwu these stowms. Oh and weez be joinin’ up wiff da Pet Pawade Blog Hop as always. Fanks fur hostin’ yous guys. We do so luv our Pet Pawade. And we purraelly won’t be ablle to get online tomorrow so weez gunna join up wiff Athena’s Caturday Awt a day early.

Me Didn’t Mean To

Meowllo everypawdy hope you’re having a gweat week so far. Yesfurday was one of ouur busy days as it was mommy’s regular monthly doctors pointment. Mommy used to be one of those peeps that was early to everyfin’ by at least 15 minutes. But since the accident and her getting older, she has become one of those peeps dat be late to everyfin’ by at least 5 minutes. So as she rushed round da house trying to get ready yesfurday me settled into a short nap at da top of da cat tree. Mommy had already passed out a few times and so she sed she was fine, and looked it too. Lexi ate a great dinner last night but wouldn’t touch her bwekky so in tween mommy’s rushhin’ to get ready she was tryin’ to coax sissy into eating. No luck there.

Me knows what you’re finkin’, what about all of dat wuld have me sorry? Well as it happens, mommy was indeed already runnin’ late fur hers pointment. So she was hurriedly trying to gather up everyfin’ we was gunna need and she stawted havin’ hers own purrsonal summer and getting dizzy. And dat’s when it happened…mommy stated whirlin’ and reaching and grabbin’ at anyfin’ and everyfin’ to hold onto so she kuld avoid falling. Well let me tell ya a little sumfin’ ‘bout lots of da furniture here in our house. Mommy has intentionally got lots of fings wiff wheels or dat be light weight so dat she can easily move fings round. So as mommy was grabbing at fings stead of supporting her, they was moving right along wiff her. Till finally everyfin’ including mommy bumped into the immoveable freezer against da wall and down mommy went. BOOM…CRASH…BANG!!! Da horror of da noise jolted me frum meez sleep at da top of da cat tree and me jumped and scurried right into da window wiff da mini blinds and onto da floor. Me kuldn’t get away get to mommy fast enuff.

Really as soon as me hit da floor, me ran to mommy to see what me kuld do to help her. Sis Lexi was hot on meez paw heels and there we was standin’ on top of mommy hoo was sprawled out on da floor. We helped mommy get up and put da house back together and we boff followed her to da chair to sit down. She cleaned da blood off her legs and arms frum da cuts and we purred while she looked in da mirror to make sure hers eye wasn’t cut up. And then mommy slowly got up frum da chair and got da stroller and we was off. Doc sed mommy’s sure gunna hurt tomorrow. She told him she sure hurt today. MOL So dat’s what me be sorry ‘bout. Me really didn’t mean to break da mini blinds. Now mommy has to go and buy sum new ones. And me sure didn’t want dat. Mommy sez she dusn’t blame me, she just didn’t have the extra money fur buying fings fur da pawtment. But there be no salvagin’ those fings. You know they have to be cheap to begin wiff, so dat’s zactly what mommy’s gunna replace ‘em wiff. But pawently even cheap mini blinds ain’t so cheap. Looks like they’re gunna cost us sumwhere round $10.00.  Again, me knows you understand and don’t blame me, but meez really sorry mommy, me fur sure never meant fur them to break.

Weez also spendin’ today wiff da Cat Scouts and da Tabby Cat Club celebratin’ Cinco de Mayo.  Hope you’re enjoyin’ your day as much as us.  Happy 5ff of May.

All You Need…

Meowllo evewypawdy awe you weady fur da weekend? It’s almost here. Anyways today’s anudder day in da Bloggin’ A to Z challenge. And todays letter is N. Hmmmmm We hear da word No stawts wiff an N, but since mommy rarely ifin ever tells us No, then  maybe me better not talk ‘bout dat. So me fawt fur a long time and finally ‘cided to talk ‘bout Needs. You know fings peeps and anipals must have to survive. There be da obvious fings like food and water altho’ mommy sez dat hoomans can go wiffout faw longer than is fawt. But we hope nun of ow furiends evew have to find out how long. And then there’s da comfurts of a home wiff heat and air conditionin’. A bed and somewhere to sit. Altho’ mommy has lived in hers caw afur, she sez she be way to old fur dat kind of life anymowe. And then there be LOVE. We wish nopawdy/kitty evew had to go fwu life wiffout luv.

APRIL-CALENDAR [2015]

Lexi and me awe so blest to have such a wunnewful mommy and all of you. But there’s lots of animals in da world hoo have never known luv. And sum dat did and lost it, and found themselves in shelters or on da stweets all by themselves. We told you da udder day ‘bout ow towns city council making sum weally stupid statements ‘bout da law and how they like to solve da purrawlem of those unwanted kitty cats dat roam ow stweets, and how mommy wuz on a mission to set fings stwaight. You know those kitties didn’t choose to be outside scwimpin’ fur food and shelter. All they evew wanted wuz a home and luv. To survive tho they must hunt or search fur homes dat will meet their basic needs fur food and water and shelter. And now a community wants to take those fings fwum them as well.

Mommy finally spoke wiff one of da council members and hims admitted they didn’t know da laws and spoke outta turn and wuld be cowwectin’ dat. And then him went on to say dat anudder of da council members stated he had twapped one of sed cats and wuz fined $20,000.00 cuz it wuz feral. Just when mommy fawt she had heard evewyfin’. OMC Hoo comes up wiff this stuff. Anyways, mommy wesponded wiff, “that’s not a penalty nor is there any such law.” To which she got, “well we’ll have to do some research because we’re a small town and can’t afford a $20,000.00 fine.”  Mommy proceeded to splain dat they kuld hoomanely twap those kitties and hoomanely twansport them to da nearest local shelter to be held fur adoption or hoomanely eufanized. And then you wanna hear what ‘scuses they made? They told mommy dat da shelter chawges them $25.00 fur each animal they turn in. Yep, dat’s mowe than a bullet, but guess what? Accordin’ to state law a bullet dusn’t qualify as hoomane euffanasia. Oh and dat killin’ must be dun by a twained and qualified purrfessional tech or Vet so as not to cause undue stwess on sed animal. So we conclude ow town NEEDs to gwo up and join this centuwy.
