Get Off The Phone Mommy

Meowllo everypawdy, hope your week is goin’ great. It’s been busy, busy ‘round here lately. Let me tell ya’ findin’ somepawdy to help mommy is a lot of work. You know with da exception of a couple hours yesfurday when mommy’s case worker was here, mommy was on da fone most of da day with one purrson or another. She’s gotta check refurences, both purrsonal and business, and set up interview times, and get others applications. Mommy says even tho’ it’s a lot of work, she’s happy dat we actually have a few different peeps to choose from. At furst it was lookin’ purretty bleak.

And of course you all know we’re lookin’ fur a helper of da 4 legged furry purrin’ kind too, so dat takes up a lot of mommys day. Everyday she calls da shelters, rescues, and newspaper and online ads to see ifin me’s new sisfur is out there. So far everytime we think we’ve found her somethin’ happens and we’re startin’ all over again. But dat’s okay, we just know da right sissy will show up. Me thinks when she does we oughtta throw a pawty. What do ya’ll think? Me thinks anythin’ is a good reason to celebrate. MOL  Me just has to get mommy off dat fone.

Anyways, this month has just gotten away from me. Me had planned to have another give away this month, but things just didn’t fall into place in time, so da furst week of June, stay tuned. Me thinks you’re gonna luv this one. And mommy is also tryin’ to figger out how to shoot a tutorial video. Me knows ya’ wanna know what it’s about, but you’ll just have to stay tuned. Me can tell ya’ me’s not gonna be da most coop-purrative purrticipant.

Well there’s a long weekend comin’. Mommy’s birthday always falls on da weekend of Memorial day, and this year it’s da Furiday befur. As me told you befur, we aren’t gonna have a big brouhaha. Mommy had hoped to have a new furry purrer by then, but since dat isn’t gonna happen me told her we could play snuggle snuggle. Just gotta keep her off da fone long enuff.

Mommy thinks me’s been sleepin’ too much lately. Me doesn’t seem interested in playin’ much. And she’s tried everythin’. So just fur mommy, last night and this meownin’ me had a little play fest with me’s Yeowww rainbow dat we got fur Christmas. It sure made mommy happy. She was smilin’ and gigglin’ like a little girly watchin’ me play. And she didn’t get on da fone once. It doesn’t take much to purrlease mommies. And of course she had da flashy box close by and was snap, snap, snappin’ away, so me thought me would share a few of those fotos with ya’ll today. Me’s gonna wrap it up so we can try to get by and visit as many of ya’ as pawssible befur da storm hits.

All Hail The Queen of Slink

Meowllo everypawdy, hope you had a great weekend. It’s another Miserable Monday here and let me tell you, we sure had a storm last night. Ya know da skies have been gray and sunless furever now, but at least da rains have been quiet da last few days. And then outta nowhere last night da thunder and lightnin’ started up and scared da b-jeebies outta me.

There we was, layin’ in bed all cuddled up da way mommy and me do. Ya’ know mommy can’t sleep without a kitty cuddled up next to her purrin’ her a lullaby. And me and sis Lexi used to purr in unison. Mommy says it was kinda like havin’ a vibratin’ bed. Anyways, me’s getting’ off track here, let’s get back to da storm of da century. So there we was all cuddled up and suddenly, BOOM gRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrUMBLE It was so loud even mommy jumped. Me couldn’t slink or scamper off da bed and under it fast enuff. But me had purrlenty of light to see by, cuz lightnin’ came through da black bedroom curtains and lit up da whole room. Well mommy began to coo at me from atop da bed while me shook in me’s fur under da bed. She wanted me back up on da bed with her. Like dat was gonna happen. As long as da sky was grumblin’, me was gonna stay put……….safely UTB (under the bed). Mommy calls me da Queen of Slink. She says fur a big kitty me can sure flatten out fast enuff.

Now let me tell you somethin’ you may not know about me’s mommy. She’s a clever one. She doesn’t like to take no fur an answer and won’t ifin she can help it. So there me was shakin’ in me’s fur and mommy’s cooin’ and nothing’s happening. So she begins to whine. You know, “Dezi, I Neeeeeeeed you. Baby, I can’t sleep without you. Dezi, it’s okay, I won’t let anything or anybody hurt you, come on back up here on the bed with mommy.” Yeah, just how did she plan on purrtectin’ me while she slept? Was she gonna snore dat storm away? Me wasn’t goin’ anywhere. UTB was just fine with me.

After what seemed like furever me heard mommy softly snifflin’. Hmmmmm Me cocked me’s head and thought a minute. Somethin’ must be wrong. Mommy’s cryin’. So me made da decision to go and check on her. Me bravely crouched low to da ground and slinked out from under da bed and looked up from da floor. Me couldn’t see a thing. So me hurried up da steps and jumped over to mommy’s chest and stuck me’s face in hers. Meow? What’s wrong mommy, me asked. ‘Tween da sniffles mommy went on about how sis Lexi wouldn’t have left her alone just cuz of some storm and how me has to be her big girl now, and how she neeeeeeds me and luuuuuuvs me and would never let me go. Me lissened intently and purred luvvingly. And then when da next thunder boomer hit…………me scurried back UTB. From me’s spot UTB me meowed to mommy, “Remember mommy, me’s da Queen of Slink and…me Ain’t sis Lexi.”

We didn’t get much sleep last night, but fur now da storm has ended and it’s quietly mistin’ so me’s out hangin’ with mommy and makin’ her happy. We’ll be by to see you all just as soon as we can. And mommy wants me to say thank you to everypawdy. She feels better knowin’ she’s not so old fashioned after all. It’s been a long time since she applied fur a job so she didn’t know ifin things had changed or not.

Blest Sunday And Other Stuff

Well here we are at da beginnin’ of another week. Do you like me’s title? “Other Stuff”, real intelligent huh? MOL  Anyways, dat means it’s time fur Blest Sunday. We like to start our week off reflectin’ on our blessings. You know blessings can be found anywhere. Even when all you see is bad, ya’ just have to look. Me will tell ya’ ‘bout just one of those dat happened this week. But furst me wants to say thank you. Thank you fur bein’ our furiends and just fur bein’ you. Your furiendship is somethin’ we never have to look hard to see da blessing in.

Let me give ya an example. A while back our furiend, awnty Rachel, from Three Chatty Cats was havin’ a give away. There were these really cute kitties in bow ties magnets up fur da purrize. Well we didn’t win. But da winner, Alison, from da Sarcastic Dog said they wanted to give their purrize to somepawdy who might need a little cheerin’ up. As you know we’ve been spendin’ a lot of time around da bottom of da rocks what with missin’ sis Lexi and all, and so awnty Rachel thought of us right away. Well we got those cutesy magnets this week, and they really made mommy smile. A meowsy big thank you to awnty Rachel, awnty Alison and Cats in Bowties.com.

Mommy was so excited over her cutesy little magnets dat she wasn’t really payin’ attention to where she was goin’ in her bare feet when she spotted somethin’ outta da corner of her eye on da dining room floor. Well you know mommy doesn’t see very well anyways and we rarely turn on da dining room lights; so there she was squintin’ and lookin’ to see ifin she could tell what it was. Finally she thought me had left a little poop droplet on da flloor so she got a paper towel and bent over to pick it up. Me doesn’t know why she thought me did dat, but bein’ da baby me’s used to getting’ blamed fur everythin’ so me rolled with it. Well mommy picked it up and turned toward da light to look see and…OMC dat wasn’t poop, dat was a STINGIN’ SCORPIAN!!! Well mommy dropped it like a hot potato and looked fur somethin’ to kill it with and quick. ‘Member now she was bare footed. Mommy was sure blest he didn’t whack her with his stinger.

Anyways, ya’ know me told ya’ dat mommy had been checkin’ out stuffs fur takin’ care of a baby kitten, right? Well turns out dat mommy had been told ‘bout a kitty dat had given birth. Now this was her furst heat and furst litter and really she shouldn’t have been havin’ kitties, but, well, da peeps round here don’t really see da need fur spayin’ and neuterin’ like we all do. We’s workin’ on educatin’, but it takes a while. We gotta get those kitties in da house and thought of as more than mousers in da furst place. Anyhow, this little kitty girl had one little kitten. Well mommy got word dat da baby wasn’t doin’ so good. So dat’s why mommy was getting’ everythin’ together. She was gonna take on dat kitty and nurse it back to health and make it ours. But befur she could get there to pick it up, it went on to heaven. We think it had been sick longer than da peeps realized and so by da time they noticed, it was too late. Purrlease, Spay and Neuter your pets. Yes this is very sad. But we do see da blessing. Da kitten is with Jesus now and no longer sick. We couldn’t really afford to take on a kitty with life long health problems, so in da end it all worked out. Da mommy kitty can hopefully recover and be spayed. Her owners didn’t say they would yet, but we’re hopin’.

Me’s been spendin’ a lot of time hangin’ out in mommy’s lap. She says we really need to find me a sisfur soon befur me turns into a couch potato. Whatever dat is.

 

We believe things happen fur a reason and dat God’s in control. And dat He’ll send us just da right kitty at just da right time. Mommy says she’s all set now, so whenever kitty shows up, we’re ready. MOL  Mommy’s also been busy da last few days talkin’ to peeps about da PSA job. They all wanna know everythin’ befur they apply or interview. We got a ton of one liner emails cuz mommy doesn’t know how to text, and we know dat’s what they all think they’re doin’. Mommy’s ad says to email contact infurmation fur an appkication, or call and leave a message. She gets these emails sayin’, “you told me to email you.” and lots of hang ups or messages without a number to reach them at. And they wanna do it one sentence at a time. Mommy says somepawdy dropped da ball in teachin’ folks how to get a job. Anyways, we’re blest to have da program and qualify fur it cuz mommy needs help with things me can’t do. Me’s gonna wrap it up now. But befur me goes, me’s joinin’ da Kitties Blue fur Selfie Sunday. Don’t furget to stop and take a minute to say thanks fur da blessings in your life.

Straight From Your Kitchen 5

WooHoo it’s finally Furiday. Me’s keepin’ me’s paws crossd dat da sun comes out tomorrow so me can go fur a stroll with mommy. She’s been really busy these last few days, and of course da weather has been gloomy and wet. Fankfully no funder boomers were involved, but neither was da sun shine. Other than that we have no big plans fur da weekend. BlogPaws is getting’ closer and closer and mommy still hasn’t been able to find anypawdy to sponsor us, but she ain’t givin’ up yet. Ifin me knows me’s mommy, she’ll try till da day it starts. It would be so much fun to go to Arizona. Me even has a couple awnties out there me would luv to meet fur to face. And next Furiday is mommy’s…birthday. She won’t let me say which birthday it is tho’. We’re  not plannin’ a big pawrty or anythin’. Hopefully mommy’ll find a little money so she can go and get a shake from da Sonic. They be half purrice after 8 p.m.

What’s dat? You wanna know what mommy’s been busy with? Well a while back me told ya’ dat mommy was gonna be getting’ on a program where she could hire somepawdy to help her with da house cleanin’ and takin’ her on errands. Ya’ know a general helper. She’s been in a similar program fur years now, but da companies won’t send anypawdy to work cuz we live so far away from anythin’. Recently they added a new program to da old program where mommy hires da help herself. We don’t have to pay them, dat’s what da program does. Well, mommy finally got approved and so she’s been runnin’ ads and takin’ calls and answerin’ emails and dollin’ out applications so dat hopefully we can find somepawdy to help us out. Me’s got me’s paws crossed we find somepawdy trustworthy and willin’ to work.

Anyways, we’re gonna share another Straight From Your Kitchen Treat Recipe with ya’ today. We hope you all are enjoyin’ these recipes. We’re not sure how much longer we’ll do this, but it has been fun. Anyways, remember, these are treats and therefur Not nutritionally complete. You can substitue any protein/meat to suit your furries taste.

Shton 

Makes 2-4 Servings

4-5 ounces White Bait (chicken, livers, duck, rabbit, beef, etc.)

4 Egg Whites, beaten

1 Handful Parsley and/or Catnip

Pat of Butter or Olive oil for the bottom of the pan

1. Prepare your Protein

2. Mix Egg Whites and Parsley and/or Nip 

3. Melt Butter or heat Olive Oil  

4. Pour ingredients in hot skillet and stir gently till egg is set.

5. Cool and Serve. 

As you all know we don’t eat fish, so me likes chicken or duck better. Egg whites are a pawsum protein source  and easily digestible, and parsley is a natural breath fureshener. And of course Nip is great in anythin’. And bein’ from da South, we think everything’s better with butter. MOL Me sure hopes you enjoy your omelets. And hey maybe ya’ can even talk your peeps into addin’ a little bacon.
