Chatting Cats: Is Mommy Losing It

Well, here it is already the 4th day of the Mew Year. We were all sittin’ ‘round this meownin’ thinkin’ ‘bout how quickly time is passing these days; when mommy popped up and said, “You know girls, Time waits for no man.”

Dezi and Raena with nip toy

          What did she mean sissy?

Oh Raena, me thinks she might have hit her head too hard, fallin’ outta bed or somethin’. Me has no idea what she was talkin’ ‘bout. Sometimes, she just gets lost in thought and blurts out the furst thing that comes to mind.

Dezi and Raena lay on the cat tree and small perch to look out the window and chat

I’s checked that google thing, and it seems they don’t really know the origins of what she said, but it ain’t an original thought, so at least we know she isn’t losin’ it.

Don’t be silly Raena, of course she’s not losin’ it. Mommy just has a ton of stuff in her brain and sometimes it just comes out. Wonder ifin that ever happens to any of our furiends?

Ifin what ever happens? They make no sense? Or just blurt out nonsense?

Just cuz we don’t understand doesn’t make it nonsense. Specially  ifin it exists Raena. And you said you found it on google.

Dezi and Raena look out the front door

Yeah sissy, but you know mommy’s always sayin’ how stupid google is. And you know that must be true, cuz she hates that word and won’t call anypawdy stupid.

Well, that’s true, but me knows mommy’s not losin’ it, and that’s that. Besides, she planted up her new AeroGarden yesfurday. And trust me, that took some sense. And then, she had to outwit you to get the cover back fur one of the seed pods. She was so purroud of her garden Raena, why would you go and steal a plastic cap?

 Raena checks out the AeroGarden

I’s couldn’t help mines self sissy. Didn’t you see them? They’re so tiny and just the right size fur carryin’ and battin’ ‘round. I was gonna have sooooooo much fun. Well, till mommy took it back that is. Besides, these are just purractice plants anyways; she hasn’t got any lettuce seeds yet.

Purractice or not, mommy would like to be successful. And these plants are herbs she can use to season stuffs.

 Raena oversees the AeroGarden

She will be sissy. I’s gonna help her.

Is that what you call what you were doin’…Help?. Hmmpht  We’ll see. Me thinks it’s purretty cool. The lights come on and off all by themselves. And there’s somethin’ in there that swooshes the water ‘round every once and a while all on it’s own too. We’ll have to ‘member to post updates along the way. But fur now, let’s just go finish brekky. That is after mommy gets your plate uncovered. And don’t ever turn mes plate over again, K?!!!

You wasn’t eatin’ it, and I’s don’t want anythin’ bigger than us to smell it and come and eat us.

Dezi lays in mommys' lap for some loving

Ain’t nuffin’ comin’ to eat us Raena. Mommy won’t let it. We’ll be by to visit soon. We’re still waitin’ on the wheelchair batteries, so mommy’s extra slow.

Do you daydream?

Do you ever just blurt out your thoughts?

Are you interested in seeing the progression of mommys’ AeroGarden?

Till the next time………………………………….Be Blest!!!

  1. I saw a video that showed peoples growing lettuce and celery and even tomaters right from the veggies themselves. No seeds needed. When you buy lettuce and use the top parts, just stick the bottom part in dirt and water it and it just grows new leaves. And tomaters (you know those are seeds inside, right?) – you just slice em up and place on dirt and water. We hasn’t tried it ourselves, but instead of frowing out the bottom parts is pretty amazing. It’s worth a try. Just some good dirts and sunshine and scraps to make new food!
I’ll have my mommy try some of these tricks.

    1. Let us know how it goes. We don’t have any of those things, so we’ll just use da seeds. But maybe once we have some we can just grow more from them. We don’t know what stuffs will look like with this garden and mommy can’t garden outside anymore. ‘Course she couldn’t ever get anythin’ she grew from outside anyways. ‘Tween da critters eatin’ it all up and da lawn crew pullin’ up da rest, she gave up. Big hugs

  2. MOL Raena’s head in looking at the seeds is priceless. She looks like she’s sticking her head in to see if it’ll grow. MOL Does mom ever blurt things out? Are you messing with me? Of course, she does and then when I look at her, she says, “Did I say that out loud…I thought I was just thinking it.” I am very interested in seeing how the herbs turn out. I would like to know what kind of herbs you have there.

    1. Yep Shoko, dat Raena thinks she needs to be in da middle of everything. She checks on da plants a million times a day. Da herbs we have are da ones dat came with it and are dill, parsley, 2 kinds of basil, cilantro and mint. Mommy says she shoulda planted some catnip in da place of da mint, but maybe next time. She checked amazon to see what da lettuces would cost already ready in da pods, and they run ’bout $10.00 to $16.00, so she might try dat till spring comes and she can find some local seeds or somethin’. She hasn’t decided nuffin’ yet, she just wants to make sure she can grow stuffs. MOL Peeps have generally been innerested, so we’ll be postin’ more with da garden. Big hugs to all.

    1. But dat’s da thing, there’s no dirt here to dig up. And we can’t get to da water cuz of da cover. Mommy will try to take better fotos next time so you can see da whole thing. She’s so excited. She’s wanted one of these furever, but couldn’t afford it. Anyways, fanks, we’re purrobably gonna need da luck. MOL

  3. Aww. That last picture of you Dezi, is precious. I mean, you know you’re GORGEOUS, but the moment captured means so much more. For us Moms that live alone, we don’t get many pictures of the quiet moments like that.
There’s only one word for you, Raena. And that’s a spitfire. I say that with the utmost respect and admiration. Bear was much like you for the first three years I had him … there were days I wished I had a couple mobile screaming toddlers instead (not kidding). In the end, he always made me laugh even when I was depressed and feeling hopeless … so you might be just what your Mommy and Dezi need … a reminder of what living is like … Bear did that for me without me even knowing I needed it 🙂

    1. Fank you awnty Katherine. Mommy luvs da quiet gentle lap moments we have. Me has always luvved doin’ it, even da day she brought me home. Me would rather lay in mommys lap fur some luvvin’ than do anythin’ includin’ eat. Raena likes lap luvvin’ too, but she just has too much energy to burn to sit still fur too long. MOL She is indeed a spitfire. Mommy says she can’t ‘magine ever bein’ desperate enuff fur da two legged hellions, but her health and da migraines play a roll in dat. MOL Raena does make us laff, and cry. 🙂 We’re so glad you had/have Bear. Mommy says ain’t nuffin’ in da universe more luvvin’ and comfurtin’ than a furry purrer.

      Luv ya’
