A Chewy Catswell Tuesday

Well Meowllo day of labor. MOL Yous know sis Lexi has had sum weally bad days here lately where she “kuldn’t” eat. She was innewested and hungwy but she just didn’t seem to be able to eat. When we finally figgered out what was wrong and got da acids unnew contwol we was all a happy bunch here. She was finally eatin’ again. Gwanted she wasn’t eatin’ as well as she had been but mommy and me was just happy to see hers eat anyfin’. She was lookin’ like a bag of bones and had mommy cwyin’ all da time.

Well as you know weez pawrt of da Chewy.com blogger purrogwam and very gwateful fur dat; so when we got da list of choices this mumff we tentatively aksed fur da Catswell Nutrisca Grain Free Chicken Entre`e in Savory Broth. It comes in 10 different flavors and costs less than $22.00 fur a case of 2.7 oz. cans. Me eats purretty well so mommy dusn’t worry so much ‘bout me but when sissy be eatin’ we don’t like to upset da kitty by changin’ fings up. But at da time sissy was eatin’ nuffin’ but tuna and you know how much mommy hates fur us to eat tuna, so she was weally hopin’ Lexi wuld not only like this new food but dat it wuld kick stawrt sissy into eatin’ udder purroteins again. Dat’s a purretty big burden to put on a little ole can of noms, but we was purrayin’ and believin’ it wuld work out.

Da day came when our chewy box awwived. Me was ‘cited cuz we had a new box. We had wecently had an inspection and so mommy had to fwo out all our boxes. (‘cordin’ to da management, boxes be a fire hazard.) Anyways, mommy opened da box and pulled out da case of Catswell Nutrisca noms. Me had a good sniff and went off to play in da box while mommy had a mini foto shoot wiff da cans. Dinner time was still a ways off so mommy went online to see what she kuld find out ‘bout this new cat food and da company dat makes it. Turns out da pawent company called Dogswell is fairly new. They was founded in 2004 when they developed their furst purroduct, a dog tweat wiff glucosamine and chondroitin. Now they make food and tweats fur boff cats and dogs; da newest bein’ da Nutrisca Grain Free canned noms.

Dinner time finally awwived and mommy gwabbed a can of these new noms and pulled da tab. Sis Lexi immediately stawrted meowin’ fwum her place at da table and me chimed in while rubbin’ mommys legs. As mommy duz wiff all our weview items she pulled out da flashy box and stawrted wiff da foto shoot. You know me dusn’t know why she has to do this when we be hungwy and waitin’ on her to fix our plates. Finally on da plate, mommy had divided da can ‘tween us; she set our noms in fwunt of us. Mmmmmmmm nom, nom, nom. This is good mommy, me meowed fwum meez plate. So me gives it 4 paws up. What ‘bout sissy you ask? Well let me tell ya’.

Sissy didn’t bovver to look up or tell us whevver she liked it or not. She kept hers head down and just kept eatin’. When she finally finished hers half of da can, she looked up and meowed fur more. WooHoo!!!!! (Dezi jumps down briefly and does the happy dance) Dat wuld mean 4 paws up fwum sissy too. She licked da plate clean and asked fur seconds. We kuldn’t have asked fur more. So what did mommy fink ‘bout it? She’s fwilled sis Lexi liked it so well and continues to like it days later. She was also weally happy dat it looks just like chicken bits and shreds. Da furst 2 ingwedients be chicken bwoth and chicken, and you can fur sure tell by lookin’ at it. Anudder fing mommy likes is da lack of carrageenan in it. Mommy was a little disappointed dat there not be much infurmation ‘bout it and she kuldn’t find da DMA (dry matter analysis) anywhere. Since sis Lexi has CKD it’s weally purrtant dat mommy knows da DMA of any noms sissy eats. So mommy called da company and spoke to a weally nice lady dat sed da noms be so new they don’t yet have all da nummers available, but dat she wuld get back wiff us as soon as pawssible. So 2 fumms up fwum mommy too. Even tho’ she dusn’t know da nummers, their customer service was pawsum and easy to deal wiff. Dat means a lot these days. We know yous know what we mean.

Size Doesn’t Matter

Well it’s Box day here in da blogosphere, and what’s better than dat yous ask? Comin’ home fwum da VET to find 3 bwand new big ole boxes waitin’ fur us. Yep dat’s wight, we came home to a whole new supply of boxes. Weez’ll be tellin’ ya’ ‘bout da contents in anudder posty. More on da VET visit this time. We be wequired to purrvide purroof of our vaccinations each year when we wenew our lease. And well, weez be in da purrocess of duin’ dat wight now. Mommy hates vaccinatin’ every year but we live in a state dat wequires da Rabies vaccination every year. (much to mommys chagwin). Anyways, wiff sis Lexi havin’ CKD and all, mommy sed there was no way hers was givin’ hers any shots. We found out we can get a waiver, so mommy purrinted da form fur da VET to fill out. Course you have to member, we have one of those VETs dat finks he needs to vaccinate fur everyfin’ all da time.

When we got there, dogs was everywhere. Da place was hoppin’ busy, so we had to wait our turn. Dat pointment just went out da window. Finally our turn came and we went back to da room and mommy stawted talkin’ to him ‘bout da weasons not to give sissy da rabies shot, and hims disagweed wiff her every step of da way, even when she sed da vaccs themselves clearly state to only give to healthy animals. Course weez offen wunnered just how he knows ifin weez healffy or not cuz hims dusn’t do any kind of exam afur stickin’ us. Can ya’ tell mommy’s ‘bout fed up? Mommy purrsented him wiff da papers application fur a waiver she had purrinted and hims sed he wuldn’t sign it fur nuffin’. Da only way hims wuld agwee to give sissy a waiver is to have a Titer test ran. Now fur those of ya’ dat not know what a Titer test is me will tell ya’. It’s a very spensiv blood test dat measures antibodies to da rabies virus. It can also measure udder fings, but all we need is Rabies.

Well, mommy didn’t have nuff munny fur it, so we got me a rabies shot and made a pointment next week fur sis Lexi to have dat Titer test. Da test itselff costs $80.00 and then there’s da office visit chawge of $30.00 and da chawge fur drawin’ da blood (we furget how much dat was). Dat’s more than we be allowed to chawge, so weez not know zactly what weez gunna do. Ifin yous can help, weez sure wuld purreciate it. Sissy be duin’ so good wight now, mommy just can’t fall in and give her dat shot. We know dat sum of ya’ may not agwee wiff us, but studies have purroven dat those vaccs last much longer than a year. Even our VET agweed wiff mommy on dat one. Hims a stwange apple dat one. Contwadicts himselff all da time. Anyways, dat’s how our VET twip went. We did make it wiffout getting’ caught in any stowrms tho’, so dat was a blessin’ fur sure. Altho’ we fink we must need sum fweon fur da a/c cuz it was hot, hot. Me even got meez hawness all wet fwum da “sweat” (drool fwum pantin’).

Well on wiff da boxes. Hope yous havin’ fun in yous box today and evewyday. Weez also be joinin’ Rascal and Rocco fur da weekly Pet Pawade Blog hop, and postin’ at da Tabby Cat Club. Oh and mommy wore sum of hers new clothes on our VET twip and sed they was pawsum comfy. Fanks again awnty Jennifer and gwand awnty Peggy. Mommy’s not so good at selfies and didn’t have on hers makeup anyways, so hers face was never gunna make a foto. MOL And don’t furget to chack back this weekend fur a pawsum give away.

Is That An Eskimo?

OMC Meowllo everypawdy, hope yous had a gweat Monday. Let me tell you we had a funny Monday. Well not all of it of course, but OMC ifin only we had fumms. Just wait’ll yous see da foto we had mommy take of hers selff. MOL Afur me tells ya ‘bout it me must pawlogize fur puttin’ up ow posty so late again. We got it written on time and wuz gunna post it but we had no innewnets. Only it wusn’t da innewnets fawlt. Can yous believ it? Not AT&T’s fawlt? Hmmmph Weez kuld hawdly believ it ow selves. You know mommy sez dat AT&T be one of da foo fings dat she finks kuld make a angel sin. Da udder…Ow management company. As you know we had sum major we-duin’ wound ow pawtment just a foo mumffs ago, and soon discovered dat to save gween papers (course we knew dat fwum da beginnin’) da management company used every short-cut they kuld. And dat they changed out da switchplates all over da pawtment. But they didn’t just change out da switchplates, they changed out da whole fing. And in duin’ so da wirin’ got all messed up. Cuz of course a weal lectwician costs lots more gween papers than sum barely twained maintenance man.

Weez playin’ Gotcha

We noticed it first wiff ow fone, and amazinly AT&T fixed it. Then it wuz da teevee, and Dish fixed dat. Well da new light fixtures they put in wiff da ceilin’ fan has gone out a foo times and when mommy can finally get up there to change da light bulbs, all da wigglin’ hers duz to it pawently fixes da short and it comes back on. Cuz it’s not da bulbs, it’s da wirin’. And dat wirin’ connects to da same stuffs (like we know what all dat’s called) dat ow innewnet and fone and fweezer be on. So it knocked everyfin’ out. It wuz so late, mommy sed weez wuld deal wiff it after we got a good nights rest. So first fing this meownin’ mommy had to work on da innewnet connection and move it so we kuld get ow posty up. So, weez late again, but hopefully ow funny will make up fur it.

And weez wanna fank Miss Ellen fwum 15 and Meowin’ fur da pawsum made wiff luv toys and all da joint tweats. Hers posted and asked ifin anypawdy wanted ’em cuz they wusn’t workin’ in hers house. And wiff sis Lexi eatinn’ and not eatin’ then she isn’t gettin’ much of hers Barley Cat lately, so we jumped on those joint tweats Miss Ellen had. And she sent a whole bunch and a Barley Cat too. WooHoo Specially now dat sissy seems to be eatin’ purretty good again. And she wuz also nie nuff to send us sum made wiff luv toys dat we luvved. 

Weez playin' gotcha.

As you know it’s been cold here lately. Hoo is me kiddin’, ifin yous liv in da U.S. it’s been cold everywhere. Well mommy wishes we kuld all hibernate when it gets this cold, but stead she took half da day off to do sum much needed cleanin’. See since it wuz in da teens wiff even lower wind chill factors, we didn’t even open da door fur a kupple of days. So we had sum twash dat needed to go out and sum sweepinn’ and moppinn’ dat needed to be dun among udder fings. Mommy hadn’t cooked nuffin’ so there wusn’t any food or anyfin’ like dat in da twash, and hers washes out ow canned noms afur frwoin’ ‘em in there, so nuffin’ to cause bugs or stink, just twash dat by it’s very definition is yucky. MOL But Monday wusn’t any warmer than da last foo days.  But mommy hates to hav twash in da house, so she wuz determined to get it out of here.

So she got all bundled up in hers big, heavy, hooded, it’s fureezin’ coat, a a scawf wrapped wound hers neck and pulled up to hers eyes on hers face, and nice wooley mittens dat one of ow facebook awnties sent her. OMC Yous shulda seen hers. Sis Lexi and me wuz rollin’ wound laffin’ so hawd…ifin only we had fumms and kuld work da camewa fingy. Even da neighbor came out to see ifin mommy wuz okay. She sed yous look like an Eskeemo, to= mommy. (Weez not hav anyfin’ against Eskimos, so this is not meant to be derogitory) Mommy sez dat when yous dwivin’ da wheelchair against da wind, it gets even colder than it alweady is. Anyways when she got back in da house and took all hers gawb off she sed she had to sit down a minute and get warm. Me jumped up in hers lap and twied to warm her up. She felt likd a chilly bowl of ice cweam. Me even got a little chilled sittin’ in hers lap on hers cold bwitches.   But me got hers all warmed up and she went on wiff da house cleanin’. Fank Catness she didn’t hav time to run da cawpet monster, but me guesses dat means she’s gunna be takin’ sim more time away fwum da puter and meez duties to do dat nex.

Angel Cat Blessings

Meowllo everypawdy.  We sure hope yous enjoyed ow snow story yesfurday.  Weez haven’t weally had da chance to read yous comments.  See when weez got up yesfurday there wuz a notice on da fwunt door fwum da manager.  She wuz sayin’ dat da snoopervisor wuz gunna be here on da 23rd fur inspections.  Mommy got upset. Firstly ow lease sez dat management may enter ow pawtments once a mumff fur inspections and dat it may coincide wiff extermination, filter checks, etc. and only after weceivin’ a 48 hour notice.  And ifin yous wecall, weez alweady had an inspection this mumff.  And secondly, hoo duz inspections 2 days afur Christmas?  These peeps dat’s hoo.  They’ve gotta be da mostest misewable peeps in da world to wanna diswupt peeps so offen.  So mommy be purretty aggwavated dat as usual management wants to bweak da rules.  And just in case mommy decides to let her in she wuz busy twyin’ to get more stuffs put away.  Member dat closet me told yous ‘bout?  MOL

On a much happier note, guess what else happened yesfurday?  Da mail lady (weez hav a lady) came a knockin’ on ow door.  Actually, she didn’t knock, mommy saw hers comin’ up da walk and met her at da door.  And she had a box in hers hands dat she handed to mommy.  Mommy bwought it in and looked at it.  Of course me had to examine it wight away too.  And good fing, cuz it wuz fur me.  Mommy looked a bit worried and sed, “hmmm I don’t remember ordering anything honey, what do you suppose this is?”  Me wuz like, me don’t know mommy just open it!!!  So mommy got out da scissors and cut da tape and………OMC  there wuz purrezziez in dat there box.  They sed they wuz fwum meez Angel Cat, can yous believ it?  Me has a Angel Cat.  Me wuz checkin’ it all out and looked at mommy and hers had water dwops runnin’ down hers face.  And she wuz smilin’ at me diggin’ wound in da box.  Me gave mommy a nose bump and a kissy and then she stawted to pull da wrapped purrezzies out and there wuz this big ole bag unner them.  Me stuck meez head in (to check it out of course) and there wuz stuffs fur mommy too.  Me jumped up in hers lap and all dat water comin’ fwum hers eyes stawted fallin’ all over me.  Mommy wuz huggin’ me so tight and tellin’ me how much she luvved me and how special me wuz to hav such pawsum furiends.  Me finks wiff furiends like weez hav hoo needs santa?.

You know Santa never visited ow house till last year, and we knew hims wusn’t gunna come by this year and we wuz okay wiff dat.  We hav been so blest this year wiff all da help yous all gave us duwin’ and after da flood.  We kuldn’t hav asked fur anyfin’ more.  And yet here we awe wiff purresants unner ow twee and mommy even put one in ow stockins.  Where, wumor has it, she’s hidden dat Canadian nip and da silervervine weez hav left.  Anyways, we wanna say a meowsy big Fank You to meez Angel Cat hoo ever yous awe.  Weez be sendin’ yous lots of hugs and kitty kisses.  Wow last week we got a box fwum Gracie and this week an Angel Cat and all da bootyful Christmas cawds weez weceived. Fank you all so very much.  And one of ow Facebook awnties sent us a Walmart gift cawd.  Yous know, me needs anudder blest Sunday afur Christmas.  Altho’ at ow house weez count ow blessings everyday so this is just fine.

Now me has had so much else goin on so me wants to pawlogize fur not postin’ sooner, but me weceived an award.  Meez furiend Shrimp over at da Hairball Express gave me da Harmony and Peace award a foo weeks back.  Meez always honored to weceiv awards, but me weally duz purreciate this one cuz we do like to fink weez awe livin’ in harmony and peace at ow house.   Me just hates to list peeps fur an award cuz me will always furget sumpawdy, so meez just gunna say, ifin yous feel harmony and peace then purrlease take it.  It is da season fur such, so me knows yous all be havin’ da warm fuzzies.  Fank you Shrimp.

Me wuld also like to ask fur yous all to continue to purray fur sis Lexi.  She has good days and bad.  Yesfurday meownin’ she ate hers whole plate and kep it down.  Then last night, she ate hers whole plate and fwu it all up.  She’s be hungwy she just needs to be able to keep it and get da nutwients fwum it.  And mommy’s allergies hav turned into full blown walkin’ pneumonia.  She called da doctor yesfurday to get sum antibiotics, but hims didn’t call them in and hims didn’t call her, so she’s’ll be callin’ hims back again today.  Fank you all again, fur yous luv and support.
