Meowllo everypawdy, me sure hopes these storms pass over soon. And me hopes da weather in your area is more spring like. Speakin’ of da weather, ya’ know all this rain means me hasn’t been fur a stroll in days. Course dat also means me hasn’t had to smooth down me’s wind blown furs or bathe away da pollen so mommy and me don’t sneeze our heads off. You know us kitties spend a lot of time groomin’. Of course nappin’s furst on our agenda, but groomin’ comes in a close second. MOL 50% of our wakin’ hours are spent groomin’. And speakin’ of groomin’ ya’ know who asked me to help spread da word ‘bout good groomin’ habits? Morris, dat’s who. Yep da ginger tabby’s at it again with da 9 Lives Live well and Prospurr campaign; and this time he’s answerin’ questions ‘bout groomin’. Let’s see what advice he has to give.
Dear Morris,
I love my cat, Baxter, but man, does he shed! Every time I leave the house I’m covered in cat hair. It’s getting to the point where we can’t even cuddle together without me looking like the sticky side of a lint roller! Unleash your wisdom, Morris… there must be something I can do.
Sincerely,
Hairy Harry
Dear Hairy Harry,
If your cat is shedding on you, the thing you should tell him is… “thank you!” Being covered in cat fur means you get to look like a cat, which means you get to look more awesome. However, if this isn’t your desired effect (although I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t be), try wearing clothes the same color as your cat to camouflage the fur. Kind of like a cat camouflages himself in clean laundry–hey, come to think of it, that could be why you’re always covered in fur! You can also try brushing Baxter a couple times a week to remove excess fur and redistribute the natural oils on his skin–now, that’s what I call a win-win!
Dear Morris,
Lately I’ve been looking slightly less than my best, which is unfortunate because I just started a new job and I wanted to make a good first impression. But instead, my eyes are all puffy and I just haven’t been my chipper self. I’m not sure how to get out of this style rut. Morris, can you help me get my grooming groove back?
Sincerely,
Fashion Faux-Paw
Dear Fashion Faux-Paw,
Let me shed some light (and some fur) on this situation. The main thing I took away from your question is that you’re STRESSED! Starting a new job can be stressful and can lead to falling out of typical routines and lack of sleep. I should know because every time I start shooting a new commercial, I only sleep 15 hours a day instead of 16. But don’t despair! There’s one failsafe way to calm those nerves and give you back your glow. I’m talking about a massage, specifically a kitty massage. We kitties LOVE to give massages–well, we think of it more as kneading but you humans don’t seem to know the difference. A kitty massage will help you relax, and in turn, feel and look better. Plus, it’s purr-ty much impossible to feel stressed when you have the love of a cat.
Thanks Morris those are some really helpful tips. Mommy says a good massage is great fur easin’ da stress of life. And ya’ know what else helps us kitties relieve stress? A good meal or a nice groomin’ session with our human or some treats. And da peeps over at 9 lives have agreed to let me give one of me’s U.S. readers da chance to win a pawsum Grooming Kit fur kitty. You have till Monday April 18th to enter. Click here to zoom over to Rafflecopter to enter and see below fur da prize. Leave a comment befur you go tho’; it’s required. Me sure hopes so. Me isn’t crazy ’bout da groomin’ from mommy either. Me thinks me does a fine job all on me’s own. But da groomin’ glove is wunnerful.
Luv ya’

Uh-huh…today meowmy sat on a cushion…and then, oops! She saw that her black jeans were trying to be a lighter color…Minko mostly frequents that pillow on her chair…MOL!
And dog-guy; his fur is like little barbs they stick into the clothes, not just lie on top, OMC!!
Grooming would certainly help…esp if meowmy would only do it more regularly, MOL!
Thanks fur a chance to win those things from Morris & Nine Lives!
