To Stroll Or Not To Stroll

Well it’s finally Furiday and da sun is shinin’. You know all last week it was like winter had returned so me was really happy to see mr. Sunshine this week. Me had been hangin’ in da stroller hopin’ mommy would take me out. And she had purromissed dat when it got warmer out we would indeed go fur a stroll. She sed she would take me up to see Buddy while we were at it, so me watched and waited fur warmer weather to arrive. Da storms finally over, gave way to to da windy days of spring in da South. So on Tuesday after we got up and ’round, mommy told me she had to get some fotos of Buddy fur his wrap up review and we would go fur a stroll afterwards. Dat all sounded pawsum, so me settled on da cat tree to take a little bath afur goin’ visitin’. You know, a girlys’ gotta look her bestest right? Right.

Mommy cleaned up da kitchen and put on some strollin’ clothes and gathered da camera and then me. Well dat’s where things went sideways. Mommy carried me over to da stroller and me went nuts. Yep, dat’s right, me got all scared and just plain freaked out. Now let me say dat me may not unnerstand exactly what’s goin’ on and where sis Lexi is, but me knows one thing fur sure, She Ain’t Here!!! Mommy gathered her up in her arms and they walked out da door and she ain’t never come back home, least not da way me knew her. Since she left, mommy and me have stayed home and not really gone anywhere, so this was da furst time since sissy left me dat me was gonna be goin’ out, and me just wasn’t sure me really wanted to do dat. You know, was mommy gonna be leavin’ me where ever she left sis Lexi? Was she gonna take me away to never return home again? Me didn’t have da answers, but me wasn’t havin’ any of dat; so me just got so scared dat me piddled a little. Yep, me knows it’s embarrassin’ but me sure did it.

Mommy didn’t react like me had ‘spected, but she did react. Mommy started bawlin’ and held me even closer. And she started cooin’ ’bout how much she loved me and such, but all me could see was da open stroller awaitin’ me’s depawsit.

Sweetheart, I would never take you away. You know I love and adore you and never want to be without you. 

Yeah mommy me knows and you say dat all da time; but you said it to sis Lexi too and….She Ain’t Here anymore!!! 

Oh baby, you know I didn’t want Lexi to leave us. I would have done anything to keep her here, but sometimes there’s just nothing more we can do. God needed sissy more than we do, and we just have to accept that. You know your sissy was sick and in pain and we didn’t want that for her. So even though we have the sads, Lexi is in a much better place now. She’s no longer sick or hurting and she’ll always be with us, because we’ll never ever forget her.

Virtual bloggin’ me unnerstands dat mommy, but real me, da one da lives in our house doesn’t get it at all. Anyways, mommy has this sayin’ ’bout gettin’ back up on da horse, so after a good ole cry fest she placed me in da stroller and cleaned up da piddle from da floor and changed clothes. Okay, maybe it was more than a piddle…Me was scared. Not sure where da horse comes into play here, but mommy likes her sayings so we’ll just go with it.

So, in da stroller me laid down and didn’t make a peep, chirp or mew. Out da door we went. Da wind was stronger than mommy ‘spected, but we headed up to check on Buddy anyways. On da way up me heard lots of birdy’s chirpin’ and lots of them flew right in front of da stroller. Me eased up a bit and actually stood up to get a better view of all those birdys. Sorry Tabbies, me likes good bird teevee. We arrived at Buddys’ ‘pawrtment and he was standin’ at da door as ifin he was waitin’ fur us. Once inside, Buddy purrceeded to hiss at me. Can you believe dat? Me? Da kitty respawnsible fur gettin’ him some good noms. Da kitty dat made hims daddy want a kitty in da furst place. Little ole Southern Belle me. Well, bein’ da Southern ladycat dat me is, me turned and showed him me’s backside. Yep, to borrow one of mommy’s sayings, he can kiss me’s lily white. MOL   A few fotos later and we was off.

By now all dat fear me had was gone and me was enjoyin’ me’s time with mommy. Seems every step she took caused da birds to flush and fly right in front of me. We went over so mommy could sit down on one of da benches and me could have a good view of da birds and squirrels. We didn’t stay out too long as da wind was really blowin’ and altho’ da sun was out it was still a little cooler than we like. You know, mommy’s over purrtective and didn’t want either of us to ketch a cold. Once we got back in da house, me strutted ’round like a peacock. Me was so happy dat me had courage was home again. Mommy said it was really purrtant dat me be okay leavin’ da house again, so we’s been out fur a little stroll every day since then. And me’s enjoyed every one of them. Dat’s right, no more piddle puddles. We even went to her doctors ‘pointment yesfurday, and me was so happy to see all me’s furiends again. But it has been windy here lately, so me has to do some major groomin’ when we get back home. Ya’ know a girlys’ always gotta look her bestest. Me’s joinin’ Rascal and Rocco fur da Pet Parade as me does every week.

Well just as me purromissed, today we’s gonna wrap up Buddy’s 30 day challenge on da Holistic Blend Chicken and Salmon cat food. Ifin you missed any of our posts ‘bout this you can read them here and here. Furst let me remind ya’ dat Buddy was eatin’a really cheap and badly furmulated store brand food. Mr. W be really cheap when it comes to Buddy. He straightens up every now and then when mommy gets on to him, but then he falls back into old habits. So when this oppurrtunity came ‘round we were really glad he agreed to let Buddy eat da new noms and committed to at least a month. As you know we don’t eat kibble in our house, so Buddy was da purrfect candidate. And since he would be transitioning from a poor quality food to a high quality food we had hoped to see improvements in his coat, activity levels and over all health.

Me told you dat Buddy liked da noms and ate them right up. Mr. W didn’t transition Buddy slowly, he just took away da old food and started da Holistic Blend. So what changes did mr. W and mommy see in Buddy? Well da furst is dat even with da immediate change in food, Buddy didn’t have any tummy upsets or loose stools. Dat’s always a Yay and cause fur a paw up. Of course we’s in purrime shedding season ‘round here, but mr. W sed dat Buddy seemed to shed less, and his coat was lots softer and shinier. Mommy agreed. When she went up to check on Buddy his coat did seem much softer and shinier. Mr. W sed there wasn’t any changes in da amount or smell of Buddy’s urine or stools, so we can’t say dat claim is valid. Mr. W did say dat Buddy was eating less but getting full. And mommy had insisted on a scheduled feeding routine as opposed to the free feeding method Buddy was accustomed to. Buddy took to the scheduled feeding routine like a champ.

As me sed befur, da Holistic Blend doesn’t contain carrageenan or da gums, so ifin your humans are concerned ‘bout those controversial ingredients, they can choose Holistic Blend without worry. A 3 lb. bag costs $14.99 and da 10 lb. bag is $32.99. Buddy is a big kitty and typically eats ‘bout an 8 lb. bag of food every month so we received da 10 lb. bag fur him to try. Now me knows you all wanna know ifin mr. W is gonna order this food fur Buddy now dat da challenge be over. Did Mommy Get A Bargain Or A Dud

Meowllo everypawdy, it’s another miserable Monday and finally da sun be shinin’ here. Maybe this Monday ain’t gonna be so miserable after all. Me’s spent a lot of time lately hangin’ out in da stroller wishin’ da weather would warm up so we could go fur a stroll. Mommy thought she lost me one day. She was workin’ on da catputer and looked over at da cat tree where me had been layin’ earlier and me wasn’t there. She called fur me but me didn’t answer right away. Me knew she was okay and just wondered where me was. So when me didn’t answer, she got up and went to da pawdee box room to look fur me. Me wasn’t in da pawdee box or on da vanity gettin’ a drink; so she went to look unner da bed. Nope, no Dezi there eever. Me guesses dat’s when da panic set in, cuz her calls then became frantic and her eyes filled up with da salty water.

Me could hear her voice gettin’ closer and closer, and me could tell it was no longer a fun game of hide and seek. So when she appeared from da hallway at da edge of da dinin’ room, me poked me’s head outta da stroller and mewed at her. Mommy ran over to me and started luvvin’ on me big time and sayin’ how scared she was when she thought she lost me. And dat she would take me fur a stroll when da weather got nice again. Me pawlogized fur scarin’ her and went with her to sit down. Lots of luv and massagin’ later, me went back to da stroller. This time mommy saw me so she knew where me was. Now dat da sun be out, mommy’s gonna take me fur a stroll later today. WooHoo So yeah, no misery today. Smile 

Me furgot to tell ya’ll ‘bout mommy’s great find da last time she was at Wally World. Member her trip afur Easter to pick up da catputer and somethin’ special fur me? Well while mommy was lookin’ in da pet section she found these boxes on an end shelf dat sed they cost .49 cents. Now it was a nice size box, so mommy thought fur sure it was a mistake. It claimed to be a fun catnip filled hide away fur kitty. Fur .49 cents mommy just couldn’t resist getting’ it. Now ifin you’ll recall her eyes was all swollen from day after day cryin’ so she could only read da big purrint on da box. And you know there’s always fine purrint. Anyways, she dropped dat box in da cart and off she went.

It rang up at .49 cents, so mommy was purretty excited to get home and see just what great find she had found fur me. And of course to purrsent it to me to play with. Once home, she got da fishy all set up she sat down to open her “sweet” find and surpurrise me. Da suspense was getting’ to both of us as me sat there not so patiently waitin’ fur her to open it up. When she opened da box she laffed so hard it almost scared me. Inside she saw 3 paper bags with cat stuff written all over them. Yep, she had just paid money fur 3 paper bags. Oh well, she pulled one of those bags outta da box and opened it up and looked inside. Down in da bottom of da bag was a purretty big handful of loose catnip. Even mommy couldn’t smell da nip. Well, guess you get what you pay fur. MOL And you guessed it, me hasn’t touched dat paper bag yet. Me’s never been da bag playin’ kitty, me luvs boxes too much.

Well, me’s gonna wrap it up fur now and get ready to go fur a stroll with mommy after we do some visitin’ and get all caught up with ya’ll.

A Thankful Blest Sunday

Well here we are on another luvvly blest Sunday. You know it’s felt more like winter time this past week than spring; but dat’s made fur a lot of good snuggle days with mommy. Me did kinda fureak out a bit durin’ da storms, but mostly me just hung out with mommy. Me luvs her so much.

When me last left ya’ me was headin’ off to cat scouts fur our 4th Quest and we was havin’ some really severe storms at home. Our innernet modem kept flashin’ and knockin’ us off da catputer. Mommy shut it down and sed it was too dangerous to try to be online. Me was finally able to purrticipate in some of da quest tho’ so me didn’t let me’s patrol down too much. We’ll be hikin’ out today and wrappin’ up yet another quest. We have a new feature called chat dat allows us to do just dat in real time. Of course you all know da quests and events are virtual, but da furiendships are real as real can be.

Anyways, dat’s enuff of a plug fur scouts. We’s still lookin’ fur me’s new sisfur and helper. Me sure hopes she gets here soon. Me can’t wait to share Dougie da Betta, and da duties with her. MOL Mommy sez me will have to share da cat trees and toys with her too. Hmmmmmm Me hadn’t thought ‘bout dat. Ya’ know what tho’? Me is so blest to have such a wunnerful luvvin’ mommy and so many pawsum uncles and awnties and furiends dat me will be happy to share it all with her.

We’s wrappin’ up Buddy’s 30 day nom challenge this week and we’ll be tellin’ ya’ more ‘bout dat Wednesday. And guess what? Mr. W actually asked mommy to check on da cost of da noms cuz he likes how Buddy’s been doin’ on them. You’ll have to wait and see ifin he decided to order them. Paws crossed he does, right?

Me told you dat sis Lexi was back home but we hadn’t posted any fotos. Da urn wasn’t zactly what mommy had ‘spected and she just kuldn’t quite bring herself to take fotos. But last week me’s sweet furiend Cat and awnty Lisa sent us da mostest bootyful restin’ place ever. Sis Lexi had what mommy called her signature pose, and this urn looks just like dat. Yeah you know mommy had to have a big ole cry. But we are so grateful to have it. Mommy’s gunna keep her on hers desk so Lexi can always be close. Check it out below.
