Chatting Cats: Remembering A Snow Fall

MeOWwwww RaenaBelle, did you see the snow yesfurday? Me thought we might not get any since it was stormin’ and rainin’. But it was so cold the raindrops turned to snow drops mid air.

Really sissy? The cold can make rain turn to snow?

What? Uh…sure it can Raena, didn’t you see it?

No, I’s was too busy snugglin’ with mommy. Is it still snowin’? Do ya’ think mommy will let us go out and play in it?

Nah, Fankfully the snow’s stopped fur now and the sun’s come out. Mr. Sun ain’t doin’ anythin’ to warm us up, but at least he’s makin’ the snow melt. The weather guessers had furcasted 8” of snow plus an inch of ice. Fankfully, they were wrong as usual. As fur playin’ in it, let me tell ya’, it’s not as fun as it might sound Raena. Me ‘members me’s furst time in the snow. A long time ago, me thought me just had to go out and see it. So, mommy wheeled us outside and me accidentally pushed the joystick on the wheelchair furward and we fell off the sidewalk and right into that cold white stuffs. Me couldn’t get in the house fast enuff. Me’s sis Lexi laffed at me furever ‘bout that.

See the bottom of that box behind me? Mommy says

it’s our new scratcher lounger.

Really sissy? You made mommy fall into the snow?

Not on purr-puss Raena, it was an accident. Trust me, that was the last thing me wanted to do. (Dezi goes back to eating her breakfast to distract her from the memory of falling in the snow)

What did it feel like sissy? Was it soft?

Can’t you see me’s eatin’? (Dezi thinks back to that day when she was just a small kitten who ended up in the snow with mommy A and the wheelchair falling on top of her) To be honest Raena, me doesn’t ‘member that much ‘bout it. Me just ‘members it was cold and me wanted to go back inside where it was toasty warm and safe. Me feels so bad fur the kitties that have to live out in all that cold.

I’s do too sissy. I’s so wish every kitty could have a happy and luvvin’ furever like we do. It’s a new year and I’s gonna purray that more kitties find homes than ever befur. (Raena jumps up on the back of mommy A’s chair and begins to take a mid morning bath)

Chatting Cats: What Side of the Bed did You Wake Up On

Hey everypawdy, it’s me RaenaBelle. I’s comin’ to ya’ live from the Three Belles Ranch. Let me tell you, it has turned yucky and cold here. It got so cold yesfurday that mommy actually turned the heater up to 67°F. As most of ya’ know, sis Dezi and me have a lot of fur. In some places it just goes on furever. But, bein’ Ragdolls, we don’t have that extra paddin’ known as an undercoat, so we can get quite chilly at times. Fanky fankfully, mommy’s lap is always warm and we have a heated mat. Mommy even put the ‘lectric blanky on the bed the last time she changed the sheets.

She may have put it on the bed Raena, but she sure is bein’ stingy ’bout turnin’ it on. Me doesn’t think she’s turned it on once.

I’s don’t either sissy. But, ifin we get ice and snow like the weather guessers are furcastin’, surely she’ll turn it on tonight.

Ifin she doesn’t, you better be purrpared to share the mommy warmth RaenaBelle. Me needs to cuddle too ya’ know. And you’re always tryin’ to hog mommy.

Hog? I’s a sweet kitty girl, sissy. I’s no hog. I’s don’t even know what a hog is. Do we have a hog? I’s should ask mommy ‘bout that.

It’s a figger of speech Raena.

Oh, another one of those figgers that you make fun of me fur usin’.

Not always Raena, only when you meow somethin’ stupid.

Stupid?! Are you callin’ me stupid?! You know mommy hates that word. We’re not allowed to meow that ‘bout anypawdy.

See Raena? You always go jumpin’ to conclusions. Me didn’t say you were stupid, just some of the things you meow.

I’s don’t think mommy makes that distinction sissy. She says we should never use the S word. She says it’s mean and disrespectful.

Whatever Raena, go be a tattle tale.

Kittens sissy!!! Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed or somethin’ this meownin’?

Me wasn’t even on the bed this meownin’ Raena. You hogged the whole thing and knocked me off.

(Raena snickers to herself) Ooooops, sorry sissy. That was an accident. I’s would never do that on purrpuss.

Me knows Raena. That’s the only reason you didn’t get the whacky paw of instruction. Me’s never seen a kitty sleep so sound. Girl, how many times have you fallen of the cat tree in your sleep?

Sissy!!! You’re not s’posed to tell everypawdy things like that. I’s a kitty and I’s s’posed to be elegant and graceful at all times…even when I’s sleepin’. (Raena then meows under her breath) That’s why I’s like to sleep in mommy’s lap. She always makes sure I’s don’t fall.

Yep Raena, mommy will always take good care of us.

Huh? You heard me? You weren’t s’posed to hear that. Anyways, all this meowin’ ‘bout naps had made me a bit sleepy. I’s gonna go get in mommy’s lap and take a nap. Maybe we can play later?.

Blest Sunday: The Blessing Train’s Home Again

MeOW C’mon Raena, it’s Blest Sunday. And guess what? It’s the last Blest Sunday of the year. Me’s so x’cited and happy. Did you see how long the Blessing Train got?

I’s sure did sissy. We are so Blest to have so many amazin’ furiends join us.

We are Raena. The Blessing Train made one last stop befur headin’ back here this week. Our pawsumly gawjus furiends Annie and Pierrot added their Blessings. They say eyes are the windows to the soul. Ifin that’s true, you’d be hard pressed to find anythin’ but luv in the two of them. We are so Blest to call ya’ll furiends. Fank you fur hoppin’ on the Blessing train.

They are just the sweetest, ain’t they sissy. The purrveiling Blessing that each of our riders shared is Luvs. Luvs fur furiends, family, and furever homes is the greatest of all Blessings.

That’s true Raena. Luv sees passed your faults and shortcomings and only sees purrfection. We are so Fankful fur all who joined the Blessing Train; the fabulous Valentine, gawjus Princess Erin, sweet Messy Mimi, the tabbylishus duo Annie and Charlie and their humanmom awnty Yvon, bootyful BellaDharma, the purrtastic awnty Crystal, Daisy Mae and angel Tigger, and the purrecious and somewhat sassy trio Peekaboo, Butterfly and angel Smokey.

And Fanky fank you also to sweet Pipo and Dalton, mine’s amazingly special and bootyful awnty Ellen and all the kitties of 15 and meowing, handsum uncle Greg, Zeke, Scooby, Opie and Marigold, the gawjusness of awnty Christine and Spike, the sweetest awnty Sandee, the wonderful and sassy felines, Shoko, Tyebe and Budd and our purrecious furiend awnty Vonda and angels Sassy and Pepper. We can’t tell you how much it means to us that you all hopped on the Blessing Train.

Ain’t that the truth Raena. Me was a little discouraged last year, but this year’s made up fur it in spades. It’s made this posty, our last posty of the year 2018, even more special. We’ve decided the Blessing Train will definitely make it’s annual appearance each December. We hope to see you all on board next year along with many more furiends sharin’ their Blessings.

Oh MeOWww sissy, I’s can’t believe this year is already over. It’s been a crazy year full of ups and downs, but thru it all, we had each other and all of you, our amazin’ furiends. We don’t know what the future holds, but we do know that with luvs and furiends we can face anythin’ and come out on the other side stronger and better.

You got that right Raena. While we’re fankin’. we wanna say a meowsy big fank you to awnty Susan fur her gift. And fank you to our special angel who sent mommy a box full of steaks from Omaha Steaks this week. Mommy’s a carnivore like us, she just doesn’t get to eat much meat cuz of the cost. But she was sure smilin’ last night while munchin’ down on that tasty steak. How does me know it was tasty? We got a bite of course. MOL

Oh sissy, it sure was delicious. I’s could’a ate the whole thing. Anyways, meowin’ of lasts, this’ll be the last Sunday Selfies with the Kitties Blue fur the year too.

Yeah Raena, time sure flies when we’re havin’ fun. We better wrap this up and get ready to welcome in 2019. As we do each week, we’d like to remind you to take a minute today and every day to give Thanks fur the Blessings in your lives. And fank you fur bein’ Blessings in ours. We purray the New Year brings abundant blessings fur all.

Meow…MeOw…MeeeeOWwwwww Mommy, come here and see. Me used the pawtty box. You need to come clean it…Now!.. MeOWWwww (Dezi sits on the human toilet and meows)

Ya’ know sissy, you could’a used the litter robot and it would’a cleaned itself.

Why would me do that Raena? Me wanted mommy to come back here to me. Besides, me really had to go and couldn’t wait fur it to finish cyclin’ from your visit. (Mommy A makes her way to the bathroom and cleans the litter box. As mommy A makes her way back to the living room, Dezi runs towards her and stops short. Mommy A grins and turns back to see Dezi.)

Are you gonna get me Dezi? (Mommy A bends, looks away and back at Dezi and says…) Don’t get me baby, oh noooooo (Dezi crouches, wiggles her back side and zooms past mommy and jumps on the scratcher and starts scratching. As mommy A approaches Dezi crouches again and reaches out and pats mommy A’s leg as she walks by.)

You’re it mommy, me got ya’. (Raena jumps off the back of the chair and onto the scratcher with Dezi) Hissssssssss Stop Raena, me’s playin’ with mommy.

But sissy, I’s wanna play too. (Dezi and Raena exchange paw pats and Dezi runs up the Liberty cat tree followed by Raena) I’s got you sissy, you’re it!!!

You can’t get me Raena, you’re not it, mommy is.

Really sissy? By the way, what is it?

What? You ask too many questions Raena. It’s just it. That’s the name of the game.

Well, I’s think that’s kind of a silly name fur a game sissy. (Raena jumps back onto the chair by mommy A and begins to bathe while Dezi does the same atop the cat tree.)

That may be Raena, but me luvs playin’ it with mommy.

I’s like to play with mommy too, ya’ know. Not as much as I’s like cuddlin’ with her, but it’s a close second. Anyways, can you believe this is the last Furiday of the year sissy? Purretty soon it’ll be mine’s birthday again.

Yeah well, not fur a while Raena. We gotta get thru the New Year furst. Me’s plannin’ lots of cuddles with mommy as the clock strikes midnight.

Well sissy, you better be purrpared to share, cuz I’s plannin’ cuddle time with mommy too. We may not be supurr-stitious, but mommy says your year will be full of whatever you’re doin’ when the clock strikes twelve on the New Year. So, I’s plannin’ on a year full of luvs and cuddles.

Of course you are Raena. C’mon, we need to finish our brekky. Me heard mommy on the fone with the doctor’s office yesfurday and me thinks ya’ll are gonna have to go out in a bit.
