Meowllo everypawdy. So we got up yesfurday and did ow meownin’ stuffs and mommy turned on da puter to check ow emails and stuffs while Lexi and me ate ow bwekky. As you know, cuz meez told yous a lot, me takes a foo little bweaks duwin’ meez meals. So me hopped up in mommys lap to check out meez bloggy and OMC meez posty didn’t even post. So me tells mommy she needs to fix it wight away. And mommy keeps tellin’ me sumfin’ ’bout da wedder and da internets and da puter updates and…me dusn’t care, me just wants meez posty up. Mommy caved of course and got meez posty out and we stawted makin’ da wounds to visit wiff you all when….
Lexi: Whatz dat noyz?(Meowing from the bedroom)
Dezi: Holy Cat sissy what awe yous hollewin’ ’bout? (Dezi listens for a minute instead of hollering herself silly as she does every morning) OMC Sissy what is dat noise? Mommy…(Dezi runs for cover UTB and a muffled meweek can be heard) Sissy what is all dat?
Lexi: I’z don’t noze sis, but itz lowd datz fur shur. Maybeez weez ought too azt mommy. Dezi? Arr youz gunna stay unner da bed awl day?(Lexi meows from her spot on top of the bed)
Dezi: (poking her head out from UTB and looking around) No sissy meez not plannin’ to stay unner here all day, me still hadn’t finished eatin’ meez bwekky. Did you finish? Yous know ifin yous left sumfin’ mommys gunna be hollewin’ fur you. Yous need to stawt eatin’ all yous meals again sissy, mommy and me awe worried ’bout ya’.
Mommy: Lexi, Dezi, girls, you both need to get in here and eat your brekky, now!
(Lexi uses the steps to head off the bed and back up front to the kitchen and Dezi starts meowin’ from UTB. A loud boom is heard and then dings on the roof)
Mommy: Dezi, honey, it’s okay. It’s just an ice storm, it can’t hurt you. (And the power flickered and the televisions go off and on and the printer squeels off and on and the lights flash off and back on)Honey, it’s alright, I promise, I won’t let it get you. Look, we’ll have the whole day together cause we can’t be on the computer in this weather.
Dezi: Yep, mommy wuz usin’ dat sweet mommy voice again, but this time meez tummy wuz rumblin’ and there wuzn’t any funder boomers so me decided to come out fwum UTB and join mommy and sis Lexi back up fwunt. We did twy to get back online a foo times fwu out da day, but weez unner severe ice storm watches and warnings so weez didn’t get to visit many of you. We hope it’s over and goes sumwhere els today or tomowwo and weez can visit you all, but da funder boomers stawted last night, so weez’ll be wound to visit as soon as we can. Meez gotta wunner, is this still da Souff or not? Weez not posed to hav this kinda wedder. You shuld see all da idiots dwivin’ in it, yous wuld know fur sure weez not used to this kind of wedder. Stay warm and cuddly and be safe. And hav a pawsum Caturday.

We hope you don’t get any more ice storms – it must have been very scary for you all. It’s very cold and wet here with very strong winds, It’s not a day for going out in the garden so we are going to spend the day sitting on Mum to keep warm.

Gosh that had to be scary! We have only had one hail storm here and it sure was LOUD so no wonder you all thought it was scary. We had BIG balls of ice all over the deck and it looked really STRANGE…..it only lasted about five minutes thank heavens and then it turned to rain which melted all that ice…..but I can’t blame you girls for worrying. It’s too bad you lost power – hope you didn’t get COLD! EEEEEEK! How much longer until Spring????!!!
Oh Sammy weez wanna hav spwing back now. MOL Weez just hate da cold, and hail beez weally bad alwight but this wuz sleet, so no balls just pieces and chunks of ice fallin’ llike rain. Then it laid there and formed big ole sheets everywhere. Weez stayin’ cuddled up wiff mommy tho’ so weez can stay warm and safe fwum it all. 🙂
Me and Mum just had a long discussion about what an ice storm is? We haven’t a clue, unless we call them something else in the UK! We probably don’t get them, but we do have snow on our little island, sometimes. But not an ice storm! That would be scary!. You snuggle up girls and keep safe! x0x0x
It be called sleet. It’s where pieces of ice fall like rain. Hail is where balls of ice fal like rain, and we had sleet. It be when it’s warmer in da clouds than in da air and da rain falls beneaff da clouds and turns to ice. Then it formns sheets on da gwound.
