Goin’ To The VET

Meowllo everypawdy. Oh it was so nice and purretty yesfurday. Well it wuld have been but da lawn crew was here literally all day long. They came before daylight and didn’t leave till almost 5 p.m. But me did get to enjoy a little sunshine and no rain before it got dark. It’s posed to stawt up again tonight, but at least we have one more dry day in the furcast. And it’s a good fing too. Sis Lexi and mommy be goin’ to da VET today. Pendin’ on what time you be readin’ this as to whether they are already there or not. They needed to have enuff peeps on staff to do tests. Mommy just hates dat they fink this way, cuz Lexi be weal good and dusn’t weally put up a fight. Me can tell ya’ ifin sissy didn’t tear up those idiots dat did hers last blood tests, she’s not gunna whacky paw our wegular VET. Mommy sez she’s gunna get a T4 test just to make sure there’s no thyroid issues. But as we told ya da udder day, sissy’s been duin’ purretty good. Weez’ll tell ya’ why in her VET update posty which we hope to post tomorrow. But it may well be Fursday dependin’ on how mommy and Lexi feel after getting’ home.

We also wanna fank all of ya’ fur yous purrayers, luv and support. And me weally wants to fank meez fellow Cat Scouts, Obi and furmily, Timmy and furmily and Cat and furmily fur helpin’ wiff sissy’s noms, medicines and pointments. Sissy’s gotten quite picky and doesn’t wanna eat da same fing 2 days in a row. MOL Duz she fink she’s hooman?  And weez havin’ pizza today. Our facebook awnty Carrie sent sum gween papers to sis Lexi wiff hers Meowday cawd fur just dat. And wiff all da stowms weez not had it. So mommy purromised we kuld have pizza after Lexi goes to da VET. Our mouths awe alweady waterin’. MOL Weez duin’ our bestest to get in as many visits as we can durin’ this wedder bweak cuz mommy dusn’t let us be on da puter durin’ da stowms. So ifin weez not made it by yous place and commented yet, know dat weez on our way. Meez gunna keep it short and sweet cuz we need to make sum visits. Weez’ll see ya’ on da flipside. (meez always wanted to say dat, even tho’ me dusn’t zactly know why) MOL

Blest Sunday-A Mother’s Day Special

Meowllo everypawdy. Not only is it Blest Sunday, our mostest favowit day; it’s Mudders Day!!! Yes it still be stormin’ here and so we still can’t be on da puter too much, but there’s no way we was gunna let this day go by wiffout makin’ a posty. Now we know dat our UK furiends alweady had their Mudders day, and sum of our furiends only have Pawsum daddy’s. But we missed da UK day and as fur daddy only houses…well weez a mommy only house so we celebwate mommy on Mudders day and fawders day cuz she has to be boff. So all you daddy only houses today be yous special day too. Now let me tell ya’ Lexi and me have dun sum nice fings fur mommy in da past and who knows, we just might this year too. But we furst wanna say dat wiff da help of sumpawdy out there we alweady did. Mommy got a cawd in da mail wiff no weturn addwess. Actually our addwess was da weturn. Wanna know why? Cuz one of you sent mommy a Mudders day cawd and bootyful pin fwum Lexi and me. Of course mommy cwied. Hers musta held and hugged on us fur hours, cwyin’ da whole time and lookin” at dat cawd. Yep, they was da happy tears. Dat be da sweetest fing. So a Meowsy big Fank you whoever you awe. Weez postin’ at da Tabby Cat Club and Cat Scouts today too along wiff our fellow tabbies and scouts. We didn’t need any purroddin’, but da DenMaster has sed weez’ll get a badge fur writin’ a poem fur our mommy. Like me sed, yous not gotta tell us twice. We luv mommy sumfin’ fierce and there ain’t anyfin’ we wuldn’t do fur her. 

Our Mommy 

Our mommy be so special 

She saved us from certain death

She gave us a home She filled with love

She wrapped it up with care.

She taught us everything we know

She’s always been there.

Our mommy always puts us first

No matter what the need

She treats us just like queens

In each and everything.

We may not have a lot

When it comes to earthly goods

But we could never ask

for a better mommy that’s for sure.

This not be our best attempt

Mommy, you deserve way more

But we know as with everything

Meowllo everypawdy. Hope you’re ready fur da weekend. It’s officially spwing and tornado season in tornado alley. We have sure had da wedder lately. And weez have also had lots of power twubbles. Y just yesfurday it looked like nighttime all day long. And da power kep flickerin’ on and off. So we didn’t hawdly get on da puter at all. We be so fwustrated wiff all this. We have sum Fank yous we need to post and weez also been researchin’ sumfin big fur an educational posty. But weez wanna wait on those till we donn’t have to rush to make a posty. At da moment it’s dawk outside and da middle of da day, so while it’s a little calm so weez twyin’ to get this out afur it all stawts up again. See yesfyrday got weal innerestin’ round here. As me sed it was dawk and we knew stowms were on da way. Da power had been flickerin’ on and off all day and every time it wuld go out, mommy wuld gwit her teef and ask God to make it come back on. And it did. Until…Well let me just tell ya’ in full detail.

Mommy had twied to get sum of dat calmin’ stuff in me to no avail. And da power hadn’t flickered in a kupple hours so mommy fawt all was good. She had been dwinkin’ coffee which, well it runs fwu her like no udder dwink duz so she headed to da pawdee box room to…well you know. Anyways, Lexi jumped up on da vanity and wanted mommy to turn da water on fur her. Of course dat’s zactly what mommy did. And then she pulled down hers bwitches and…

Lexi: Why are you getting’ to tell da story Dezi? What do you know about how fings went? After all…  

Cuz it be meez name on da bloggy sissy. Me dusn’t have to tell everypawdy dat me was so scared me was hidin’ in da recliner. Oh hey, y’all awe still here. Well dat’s okay me finks you all wulda been purrlenty scared too. Da wind was blowin’ ‘bout 70mph and rain was fallin’ so hawd it sounded like drums. So on wiff meez story. Let’s see…yeah mommy had just sat down and there was a big ole funder boomer and da power went out. Well there awe absolutely no windows in our pawdee box room at all. And da small window in da bedroom off da pawdee box room has black curtains and a black film on it to make da room cool and dawk fur sleepin’. So there was mommy in a not so furtuitous pawsition, and Lexi on da vanity slingin’ water everywhere and suddenly it’s pitch black. Mommy sed, “Oh Lord please turn the power back on.”

Mommy sat there a minute tryin’ to member where da flashlights were; we have a kupple little $1.00 LeD flashlights and da one me won fwum Cat Scouts. Mommy waited anudder minute afur gwopin’ wound fur toilet paper and such and then she told Lexi to stay put. Yeah wight. Tell a service cat to let you walk fwu a dawk house by yous selff. Like dat’s ever gunna happen. MOL And yes even me came out fwum unner da chair to find mommy. So here’s mommy lookin’ like a zombie wiff hers awms out in fwunt waivin’ fwum side to side hopin’ not to run into anyfin’ and Lexi and me hot on her heels. Mommy finally reached da bed and felt round on da vanity beside it fur a flashlight. She knocked a few fings round but finally got da flashlight and pushed da on button. It came on and then went out. OMC Da batteries were dead. So mommy turned wound and almost stepped on me. She only missed me cuz me moved outta da way, anudder service cat technique. And off we all went to da livin’ room to find anudder flashlight. Lexi ran on ahead of mommy and me but steered clear of mommys huge feet. Mommy felt round and finally found a light and pushed da button to turn it on and…OMC it’s da red dot. MOL Now’s where it kuld get innewestin’ wight?

It kulda, but bein’ service cats we know da job comes afur play. So we totally ignored da red dot and mommy flashed it everywhere lookin’ fur candles. We finally got a candle lit in every room and mommy went to ask da neighbors ifin anypawdy had reported da outage. All these old peeps sittin’ outside in da dawk and pourin’ rain and sed, “they’ll get to us. We sure hope it’s soon. The hospital’s next door so surely they’ll get us up at the same time.” Well furstly da hospital has generators and we don’t, and secondly weez not on da same line. So mommy came back in and had to go dig in da dawk closet to find da old fashioned fone dat works wiffout lectwicity. They finally got our power back up wight at dinner time. Whew, we was worried mommy wuldn’t be able to see to feed us. Which bwings us to anudder update dat weez’ll be postin’ ‘bout shortly. We just gotta get fwu these stowms. Oh and weez be joinin’ up wiff da Pet Pawade Blog Hop as always. Fanks fur hostin’ yous guys. We do so luv our Pet Pawade. And we purraelly won’t be ablle to get online tomorrow so weez gunna join up wiff Athena’s Caturday Awt a day early.

A Friend To Many

Meowllo everypawdy. We hadn’t planned on writin’ a posty today as da wedder be just pawful. Da wind is howlin’ and da skies be wumblin’ and lightin’ up wiff stweaks of blue and white. But alas, da blogosphere has lost a dear soul and we have lost a dear furiend. We’ve only been here fur a little ovew a year now, so we don’t offen write these posties. Mostly cuz there’s a lot of you we didn’t or don’t know well enuff to do you justice in da passin’ of a dearly luvved furry one. But in this case, Nerissa, aka Nissy is one we met shortly after coming to blogville. We even wemember all da details. We wuz visitin’ our then new furiend Sammy from One Spoiled Cat and he was posting an award. We still didn’t unnewstand awards and such, but Sammy sed hims gweat pal Nissy had passed it along to him. He mentioned Nissy had been round da blogosphere fur a very long time and was a special kind of kitty. We fawt dat was a weally cool name and just had to go and find out hoo this Nissy was.

So we clicked on hims name and went stwaight over. At da time Nissy and Seville was takin’ a twip wiff their egg beaters. Mouses  As Nissy wuld say. We had no idea what this was all about. See da blogs we had stawted followin’ was mostly like ours, they told ‘bout events round their house and such. So a twip wiff egg beaters? You can tell we don’t read much fiction here. Our maginnations kuldn’t hawdly wrap our bwain round it. But we wuz drawn in and kept goin’ back to read more. Nissy was always nice to us when he came by to visit. He didn’t tweat us like newbies and we don’t fink he evew spoke a cwoss word to anypawdy. He had a heart of gold and was always welkumin’.

Nissy’s gone afur his time. Cuz he was let down by da VETs and da dwug manufactuwers as so many of our kitty furiends awe. So little is known ‘bout feline healff and tweatments. Fur years everyfin’ has been based on canine tweatments. Scientists awe just beginnin’ to learn dat da feline body be diffewent and wesponds diffewently than canines. Our physiology and psychology awe completely diffewent and we need science to catch up wiff feline medicine. We hate dat Nissy be gone but hims will never be furgotten. He will live on in da hearts of all he touched and in da bits and bytes of da innernet furever. We send our purrayers to hims furmily. We will miss you Nerissa, but you awe no longer in pain and fur dat we awe furever gwateful. Mommy sez dat Nissy be back in heaven now wiff God and playin’ in fields of nip wiff our very own Ransom, Lucky Devon and Shad. And dat wez’ll see him again sumday. Purrlease go by and let da furmily know yous finkin’ ‘bout them.
